@unCliche 🤞 I'm trying to be super chill and take it all in as this is definitely my last baby so I wasn't planning on doing any private scans or anything, I'll just try and wait and see how we feel about it as Xmas approaches. Although if I go by my LMP I'd be 12 weeks b4 Xmas but I know that's not accurate.

What's the house like? Is it a doer upper?

unCliche · 05/11/2020 11:12

A nice cozy Xmas with just the two of you sounds cute @GreenApplesYo. Last Xmas was the worst for me, my DH decided to invite some South Africans who spent the whole evening talking about the apartheid. I walked out of the house.

@AKC88 hehe, that's a lot of work to hide your pregnancy but hopefully you will be 12 weeks by then so you can give everyone a Xmas surprise.

The house is indeed a doer upper. It's definitely liveable and not a massive wreck but we'll be doing little bits of work as the months go on. We have a huge garden so I have big plans for that too. I have some pics. Managed to get 15k off the asking price, so happy with that. And the location is very central so we're more than happy with the work we have to do.

@unCliche oo I love the floorboards and the fireplace. Does the fireplace work? I've lived in a few places with log burning stoves, would definitely recommend. It looks perfectly livable from the photos 🙂haha that does sound like a grim topic for Christmas. Were the South Africans family? I'm looking forward to a quieter Christmas. Somehow the last few years (OK...last 10) I've ended up doing all the cooking. This is because my Mum and sister both hate cooking, my Dad gets sloshed early on, and my brother always arrives last minute.

@AKC88 I'm planning to email the midwife tomorrow, which will be 4+3 based on when I ovulated. Funny our dates are so close, I tested so early! I don't have an LMP as I've only been off the pill 5 weeks or so, no withdrawal bleed even. Think I mentioned already, but I was hoping to be lucky enough to squeeze a scan in before Xmas as 12wks would be 29th Dec.

AKC88 · 05/11/2020 15:40

@unCliche omg that doesn't look like a doer upper-it looks beaut! By my calculations 12 weeks will be 1st Jan annoyingly so god knows when I'll get a scan with Xmas and New Year!!

@GreenApplesYo I think mine is 1st Jan so it's awkward timing-I reckon it'll be after New Year for us both. I haven't yet, maybe I'll pluck up the courage to do it next week. Although with my LMP being 26th Sept and irregular cycles I wonder if they'll take that as my date then put me back at scan-would still be tight before Xmas though. How are you feeling about covid?

GreenApplesYo · 05/11/2020 17:00

@AKC88 even if I say pretty please with sprinkles on top to the midwife? 🙂Hehe I reckon midwives must roll their eyes at the number of women hoping for an earlier scan so they can do an Xmas 'reveal'.

I'm a little nervous about covid, yeah. Not really about getting it, more just how the NHS copes. Hopefully everything will be fine, but the idea of hospitals struggling cope is a worry. Must be awful for women who are 8 or 9 months now. Shame if partners can't go to scans as well, especially the first one. How are you feeling about it all?

Will you get a flu vaccine by the way? I think I will ask about one 🙂might as well. Fingers crossed there are some left!

unCliche · 05/11/2020 17:05

I'm not sure if the fireplace works @GreenApplesYo, but we were thinking about fitting a gas or electric fireplace into the gap instead, so we'd definitely want to use it as a fireplace but without all the logs and coals needed.
Nope the south Africans weren't remotely related to us. My DH decided to invite his work colleague and his colleagues whole family. It was the first time I'd spent Xmas away from my family, so was already feel pretty rubbish.

Haha omg! Cooking literally by yourself? One Xmas you should have ordered a take out and said, if no one wants to cook, this is what you get.

How do you find out midwife contact details? Does your GP just give it to you?

@AKC88 Thank you! I guess it isn't a doer upper from the fact that it isn't completely run down, but it does need some work doing to it. It's not in perfect condition and we'd probably want to repipe some of the gas pipes.

It's lovely that you're at the end of your baby making journey and you're able to complete your family how you dreamed. I definitely can't wait to begin mine and I really do hope that both yours and @GreenApplesYo's pregnancies progress wonderfully.

AKC88 · 05/11/2020 19:27

@GreenApplesYo yeah lol they must have a right laugh at some of the stuff pregnant women suggest/ask. A bit nervous too, I work with people so would regularly be in and out of people's houses which makes me a bit worried. I'm hoping to plan a home birth so 🤞 that can happen! Yes I intend to get the flu jab, I'm offered it through work so will go there for it I think. I'm a shocking cook so now worries about anyone asking me to host Xmas 😂.

@unCliche a working fireplace is something I would love, will definitely have a log burner installed in whatever house we buy, so cosy. Thank you lovely, 🤞 all is smooth! Secretly hoping for a girl 🙊

GreenApplesYo · 05/11/2020 20:06

Haha @unCliche I guess that made me sound like the Xmas martyr. Actually I don't 100% dislike it, I'm pretty introverted, it gives me an excuse to hide in the kitchen. I gradually took over from my Dad as a teen. Really liked doing it when I was younger, but it wears thin. But to be fair, my Mum does all the cleaning and shopping and gets the tree etc before we all pitch up, my brother takes his turn to hide in the kitchen afterwards while he does the washing up haha. But my little sister has always managed to escape any kind of housework haha the jammy so-and-so.

There's an email form on the hospital website to send to the midwife. I don't think I even need to inform my GP! But I'm going to ring the surgery tomorrow to double check.

@AKC88 yes, must be a worry if you work with people. I've just been put back on furlough haha so little chance of seeing anyone for a month! I hope this 2nd lockdown isn't extended, the idea of sitting around at home while the days pass slooowly isn't that appealing. I've been doing some volunteering and that helps. But it's dragging on now.

Twinkle1989 · 06/11/2020 09:32

I've done another ovulation test - I am now Day 11/12 - both cheapy and CB say low LH...

Would my temp chart indicate that ovulation actually occurred or are we thinking I will ovulate in a few days properly? If so, I would have thought the CB would have picked up on 'high' fertility by now?

Sorry for all the questions - I don't have anybody else I can ask / who would know or understand! Xx

GreenApplesYo · 06/11/2020 10:17

Hi @Twinkle1989 it does look like you might have ovulated as your temp has gone up since yesterday. But you need to keep taking your temps to confirm. Your temps should stay higher for at least 3 days. Ideally you'd be taking your temp every morning throughout your cycle to see the pattern emerge.

This was my chart. I've stopped taking my temp now.

By the way, some women have a drop in temp the day they ovulated. It does look like yours dipped, but hard to say for sure as you don't have that many temps recorded this month.

2DPO - Anyone with me....!
AKC88 · 06/11/2020 11:55

@GreenApplesYo yeah time is passing slowly enough as it is! You don't want to be stuck at home longer than you need to be. I've only just realised this morning we are considered 'clinically vulnerable' so I've been panicking a bit about work. Did you go back to work in between the two lockdowns?

@Twinkle1989 yeah like above, it's not possible to tell with so few temps. One of the ladies on here said even a glass of wine the night before can cause a huge spike like that-consistently high for 3 days confirms O. I can share my chart with you too if you want to see it but I've also stopped temping now. Do you check CM or cervical position?

Twinkle1989 · 06/11/2020 12:19

@AKC88 thank you! May be a stupid question - how do you check position?! I haven't had CM tbf but I didn't have much last month either which is unusual as I usually get EWCM.
Maybe keep hoping for another proper peak if it's not happened already :-(

Xx

Twinkle1989 · 06/11/2020 15:39

@AKC88 ignore me 😆😫😳

Retested on CB and have a high fertility now - will continue with testing twice daily and see what goes on 😕 why can't this baby making be easy for us all?!

Hope you two lovelies are okay xx

GreenApplesYo · 06/11/2020 17:06

@Twinkle1989 ahh good luck! Keep peeing on those sticks and taking your temps 😉x

unCliche · 06/11/2020 22:10

How's everyone's pre-TWW going? I can't wait to ovulate and let the madness begin again. I'm CD8 and temps have been steadily dropping since CD1, so ovulation is still a while a way.

EllyNC · 07/11/2020 19:19

@AKC88 and @GreenApplesYo so glad to hear you’re both doing ok!! ☺️
@Twinkle1989 sorry I can’t help much re. Temps as I’ve never actually done it. I work really funny hours so not sure I could use my temp as a reliable method (wish I could tho!)
@unCliche I’m very jealous, I wish we could try again this month!! Damn covid changing plans!! ☹️ Wishing you All lots of luck for this cycle!!!

Twinkle1989 · 07/11/2020 19:44

Literally fuck knows what's going on with my cycle! No high, just a peak, then a nothing and then a high 🙄 stop this rollercoaster- I want to get off 😂
DP isn't getting a rest - poor sod!

2DPO - Anyone with me....!
Cc7750 · 08/11/2020 09:45

@Twinkle1989 I don’t think you ever know.. I had a really heavy 4 day period and now off.. I’m normally a full week! Here starts the fun again! Anyways no idea where you all based but I’m down on the south coast and the sun is out, so hopefully your taking advantage and venturing out! have fun all x

HerringGull · 08/11/2020 11:43

Sorry I've been quiet... busy week! Delighted that you got your house @unCliche! It looks amazing, not like it needs any work at all. Do you know when you're actually moving in?
@AKC88 and @GreenApplesYo it sounds like everything's ticking along nicely 😊
I'm on CD8 so the most boring days are over thankfully. On to my favourite bit 😁

unCliche · 08/11/2020 13:46

Hey @Twinkle1989, you can't go wrong if you DTD every other day but I do understand needing to have control and knowing what and when things are happening in your body.
Ah poo, sucks you won't be TTC @EllyNC. Do you think you'd start again after lockdown is over?
@Cc7750 at least AF came and went quickly. Obviously no AF and a BFP would be better, but small blessings! Mine have been getting shorter too - 3 days! I'm in the South East and haven't gotten out of bed to look at the weather Grin
Welcome back @HerringGull and thank you! We've told them we want to complete by 1st Feb but hopefully earlier if we can. It's tenanted so we're both chain free. I'm on CD10 and I've only DTD once so far but I'm not making the mistake of starting early like I did last month and then exhausting ourselves!

AKC88 · 09/11/2020 12:05

Morning All,

Been a bit MIA this weekend, exhaustion has completely kicked in, can't keep my eyes open after 8pm!!

How are you getting on @Twinkle1989? As the other girls have said...if in doubt just keep DTD!!!

@Cc7750 we had quite a nice weekend weather wise here too in Worcestershire but the rain is back today in full force!

@EllyNC bless you. Is covid putting you off? or is there more to your decision to take a break? only share if you want to BTW).

@HerringGull Enjoy it while you can, there isn't much post BFP DTD going on here haha!

@unCliche definitely a good decision, it's a marathon not a sprint lol. We saved most of our DTD last month for FW.

Cc7750 · 09/11/2020 13:29

I’m trying to keep up with all the short hand.. it’s like a quiz.. do FW = fertile week?! (If I’m wrong I still get A for effort ha)

I am Sussex and I have no rain yet, it’s the rain and wind that dulls the day.. Vitamin D supplements for winter, the fake sun tablet!

Twinkle1989 · 09/11/2020 14:59

I am in the midlands and it's pissed down for days ☹️ but makes staying in better 🤨

CB is now saying (of of last night) I am in Peak - which would fall correct so I'm less panicked but poor DP isn't getting a break 😭 it makes DTD quite clinical doesn't it?! Especially when you're not in the mood yet it's now or wait another month!

Then it will be the dreading 2WW - I'm guessing we will all be around the same time for those still TTC?

How are you doing @AKC88 ? xx

HerringGull · 09/11/2020 16:15

@AKC88 oh my sympathies. Couldn't stay up past 8pm for almost the whole first trimester last time, such a nightmare! How were you with your previous pregs - did you emerge after 12 weeks feeling like a human again or are you one of those poor souls who suffers the whole way through?
@unCliche that's not long at all! Think it's good to have something else on the go as well (not just TTC) to keep your mind busy. Moving house will def do that for you!
@Cc7750 yep, fertile week!
@Twinkle1989 I think we've probably all spread out now as we'll all have different length cycles. Think these '2dpo' type threads only work the first month, then everyone's all over the place Grin Am sticking around though 'cos you're a pretty nice bunch :)

AKC88 · 09/11/2020 19:12

@Cc7750 haha yes A* for you.

@Twinkle1989 yeah it can get clinical, my hubby was always good at providing the goods when needed lol but it definitely wasn't always the most desired thing, especially mid week we aren't our finest lol. I'm good thank you, just tired and lots of toilet trips! My dogs have started to sense it I think, they never leave my side!

@HerringGull no sympathies required, I knew what I was getting myself in for haha! My first I didn't know I was pregnant until 10 weeks so I must not have been that bad, I remember being quite tired with my 2nd but apart from that I did get off lightly, I've never had morning sickness. Boobs are my main problem, they are sooo painful, ordered a load of new bras today in the quest for comfort lol!
