2DPO - Anyone with me....!
AKC88 · 02/11/2020 10:37

Hey girls,

The weather took a nice turn here yesterday so we went for a long walk, stopped at a lovely little country pub for a drink then home for a roast, watched the F1 and went to bed, was a blissful Sunday!

@AlisonWhite welcome 😊.

@HerringGull sorry about the BFN, any sign of AF?

I've had cramping on and off since 3DPO but 7-8DPO it became more noticeable and I had one big sharp pain at 8DPO which is when I has the spotting 🤔 . Sorry AF has arrived for you EllyNC ( sorry it won't let me tag you for some reason).

@unCliche I'm not due on until Thursday, I actually stopped at a pharmacy this morning on the way to work with the intention of buying a FRER but they didn't have any so I'm taking that as my sign to hold out until Thursday. Like you and @HerringGull we've been browsing the market for a while but just haven't found what we want yet so decided to take a break from house hunting until the new year and we may be able to out down 15% then.

@lilacflower12 wow camping in that weather, well done you!! And sorry AF is being a nightmare for you ❤️

@GreenApplesYo I'm ok thank you, how are you feeling? Hmm symptoms...good question...my boobs are huge and rock hard, I have a heavy pressure like feeling in my pelvis area and still have heartburn every evening after my tea no matter what I eat 🤣

HerringGull · 02/11/2020 10:52

AF pounced this morning, one day late! Thoroughly confused. The only thing I've learnt from this is that my body does not always do the same thing every month, even if it's done that thing every month for the last few years! Confused Never mind though, on to the next cycle.

@unCliche yeah, I know, house prices are high everywhere. It's so difficult for those trying to buy a first house, or even just a rubbish bit of land to build on! DIY is nice in one way in that you get what you want at the end, but it's also so much work. All your evenings and weekends! It is cheaper though, and it's the only way we could afford to do it. It seems intimidating when you start but we kind of find that when you're learning a new thing you just start on a bit that's not too important until you get the hang of it. You can definitely do it if you have the time - everything you need is on Google Grin There are obviously some things we get people in for though, you just gotta pick and choose these things carefully. Did you put your offer in? Don't think it's cheeky at all! They can always say no.

@lilacflower12 and @EllyNC291 sorry AF came for you too. Sounds like camping was fun lilacflower :)

@AKC88 ooh Thursday is not far! Got my fingers crossed for you. Will you be 12dpo then?

xx

Cc7750 · 02/11/2020 10:55

Hi ladies, new to this group! 10dpo, first baby, trying for 5months (late 30’s so left it a big late!)... does anyone feel like they see lines that aren’t there on tests, these little cheap online tests could send someone nuts 🙂

AlisonWhite · 02/11/2020 11:15

Yes! I struggle with the LH test as one minute the line is darker and the next it’s lighter etc lol. X

unCliche · 02/11/2020 11:21

Morning girls! My body has released me from my AF duties so I'm free! Last cycle we started DTD everyday from 6 DPO but this cycle, we'll be sensible and do it every other day from about 9 DPO. Man, daily deed doing can be exhausting!

Oh awesome @GreenApplesYo. Your temps really are staying up. You literally have the perfect chart. You even have a bit of an implantation dip. When I grow up, I want my chart to look like yours.

I'm feeling so hopeful for you @AKC88. All your signs point to a BFP! In fact, I have a good feeling about this. If you spotted at 8DPO and it was implantation, you may now have enough hcg to be detected on a test. I don't want to be a bad influence, but I think you should test Wink
Your weekends sound so lovely, you're always doing something. I'm jealous! Finding a decent house at a decent price is so difficult. This current house we're interested in, it's pretty much the same size as the one we offered on but it's 75k cheaper with a bigger garden, but it doesn't have a drive way (not sure if a drive way is worth sacrificing so also might wait until we find something else).

@HerringGull I'm so sorry! Are you charting or do you know exactly how long your LP is? Through research, I've learnt that having low progesterone can impact implantation. Some ladies get proper symptoms and sometimes even a BFP before they start bleeding. So your symptoms may have been for real but then AF showed up and ruined everything. I've started taking Vitamin C & D, magnesium with zinc and a B-complex. Hopefully that should boost my progesterone and increase my LP.
With regards, to the house, we're viewing it tomorrow. The vendors want to move out by Feb so we can probably be cheeky and ask for a discount if they're on a tight timeline.

Building your own house sounds like a dream! Was it liveable when you bought it or did you have to do major work to get it to a point where you could stay in it? We're not looking for perfect, but as long as we can live in it and do some work as we go along, then that'll work for us.

Welcome @Cc7750! Let's hope that this is your month. I'm onto cycle #2 so haven't had the fortune to see any lines on any tests bar OPKs hehe Grin do you have any symptoms?

Cc7750 · 02/11/2020 11:31

Hey ladies - my boobs have hurt since about 5dpo, way too early for AF symptoms but you never know as it could be a new top I wore! Back pain but then again wfh means I’m not sitting on the best chairs! You never know but looking for symptoms means they could be things you get most months but never pay attention!

Hope everyone is well and prepared for another month in as well!

AKC88 · 02/11/2020 12:03

@HerringGull I'll be 13DPO then. I agree with you, my body does not seem to do the same thing every month so it's basically impossible to speculate.

Welcome @Cc7750, it's nice to have some more people joining this little thread Smile

@unCliche yay for no more AF for you. Oh I agree with you, last month we started straight after AF stopped and we were too bloody exhausted by the time FW came around, this month we were much more reserved initially 🤣. If I'd have been able to get a FRER this morning I'd probably have tested today, I'm not sure what one to buy now, I've read some terrible reviews on here about clearblues although I'm sure that's what I used last time. I have a couple of IC's at home but probably need to buy a decent one. I could be tempted to go in the shop/pharmacy when I go out to collect from school 🙈. I'm nervous though 😂

HerringGull · 02/11/2020 12:07

@unCliche I would def take a bigger garden over a driveway (providing street parking was not impossible). Gardens are awesome! Lots and lots of luck to you with the house viewing and negotiating! We had major work to do and it took years before we could move in because we did it evenings and weekends. The house was not really a house, it was four stone walls with nothing in between and no roof! That's what you can afford here when you are local and you have a decent salary haha. No actual house, just a heap of rocks!
I started charting midway through the last cycle, so not enough info yet. I can usually tell how long my LP is based on EWCM but I had so much of it this month I got lost! Next cycle will be easier since I'll have temps to go on too. Don't think low progesterone is a problem since LP is usually fine and I don't spot outwith my period or anything like that. I have no reason to think it wasn't fine this month too, it's just that I couldn't be sure as I couldn't pinpoint ovulation if that makes sense! I don't intend to worry yet as this new cycle is only #3 and we have conceived successfully before.
Hooray for the disappearnace of AF! You are onto the best bit of the cycle now Grin

Hey @Cc7750 and welcome. Good luck with the TWW!

HerringGull · 02/11/2020 12:11

@AKC88 oh 13dpo is totally reasonable Wink What about a CB digital if you can't get a FRER? I don't THINK they have the same issues as the blue dye tests that people complain about. Not as sensitive as a FRER though (I think FRER about 10mIU/mL and CB digi is 25). But if you're doing it at 13dpo would think the CB sensitivity would be fine? I like how it just tells you outright rather than you having to squint at it under fifty different types of lighting!

GreenApplesYo · 02/11/2020 12:18

Hahaha @unCliche 'when I grow up', that made me grin. Is your period quite short? (or have the days just gone quickly...) haha you are such a bad influence on the early testing @AKC88 but I am curious too 🙂

Welcome @Cc7750 yeah so hard to know with symptoms. Can be such a drain constantly monitoring what your body is 'doing'.

unCliche · 02/11/2020 12:49

Sigh... my period is whatever it wants to be @GreenApplesYo, I'm no longer an active participant in the goings on of my body and if my period decided this month it wanted to be 3 days long, who am I to question it 😪 Nah, my usual length is 5 days but I had a two day one a few months ago when we DTD one time during my fertile window. Then it slowly went back up to 5 days. Then we started TTC last cycle and now it's 3 days! Probably allergic to DH sperm.
Are you back to work today? Or have they updated you on whats going to happen with this new lockdown?

@Cc7750 last cycle, I made sure to log all the symptoms I had, real or imaginary, so at least I have something to compare my TWW symptoms to.

The innocence of newly TTC @AKC88. Oh how we've all grown. But don't be nervous about testing! I'm going to be the little devil on your shoulder telling you to test all day long. At least try on the ICs first and see what they do. I know some supermarket do their own brand of sensitive HPT so you could try your local supermarket? They may even have FRER.

@HerringGull I'll definitely try to properly observe the on-street parking situation, although there is a gap at the side of the house that would just about fit a car, but I don't think you'd be able to open any doors to get in and out. I'll see if my car will fit tomorrow anyway. But thanks so much for the well wishes! Let's hope we like it!
Whaaaat! Where were you living for those years? I can't believe that all a decent salary can get you is literal bricks! And no one has rioted? That's really unfortunate for the locals. I'm really sorry that the housing market is so F'd up. Do you think there'll be market crash eventually? Because that'll be the only reasonable thing that can and should happen. Let's hope this cycle is third time lucky. I've been getting really good vibes about TTC. My intuition has really peaked and all I'm getting is positive energy. So this could be my month and yours too!

I've had to replan how I'd announce my pregnancy to my family at 12 weeks, as I've now missed the Xmas/New Years announcement. so I'm thinking... Valentines day! I'll get everyone valentines day cards that say "will you be my Valentines" and "Will you be my Valentines Godmother" with a photo of the scan on the front.
If I miss Valentines day, then there's always mother's day, easter, father's day, etc

Am I getting ahead of myself??

Twinkle1989 · 02/11/2020 12:53

@GreenApplesYo

Oh forgot chart!
Wow!!!! How are you charting / temp taking? xx
AKC88 · 02/11/2020 13:01

@GreenApplesYo what DPO did you get your BFP again? Haha between you and @unCliche you'll have me POAS before the day is out 😂😂😂. Our IT system at work has been down all day as well which isn't helping my impatience!

@HerringGull you got any weird or wonderful things to try this cycle or just keep doing what you are doing?

Cc7750 · 02/11/2020 13:15

Thanks everyone, I’ve been testing, I shouldn’t really as it’s too early. I would even say I’ve had a faint line (and I’d show a pic if I could) but it appeared well after the 5min mark so no doubt was an evaporation line!

Good luck to all those waiting to test and 🤞🏻 for all of you!! x

HerringGull · 02/11/2020 13:20

@unCliche getting ahead of yourself?!!! Surely not! Grin Think you have to think ahead and positively to keep yourself sane. I think well past the 12 week scan, I'm more like 'if we get pregnant this cycle, the earliest I can start mat leave is...'
Well we had to live with our parents into our 30s (paying rent of course)! Lots of people do that here, or live in caravans. There's nowhere to rent privately (like actually no private rentals at all because they're all holiday lets) so basically you can't rent, you can only buy. Unless you can get a council house but the list is looooong. Think unfortunately the situation is getting worse, thanks to Covid. Now more people are able to work from home long term, they're all thinking why not do that from a cute rural place instead? Housing enquiries from city people have gone through the roof since the spring apparently. I know it's not the city people's fault, it's just that they have an unfair advantage cos wages are higher there so they have a springboard that Highlanders don't have. I also believe you should be able to live in the place you grew up; if that's not possible something's gone wrong with the system.
If you can't fit your car in the gap can you get a thinner car? Or one with a sun roof so you can get in and out? No good when you're preg though...

@AKC88 nope, just going to DTD lots as usual! Didn't do anything crazy last time so sure it will work eventually this time too :) Think I would just get stressed out! Are not @GreenApplesYo and @unCliche a pair of rotters? Here's you trying to be all sensible and good and they're egging you on!

GreenApplesYo · 02/11/2020 13:21

@AKC88 um. 8dpo hangs head in early testing shame Got a shadow on a cheapy evening of 8dpo, tested with a CB early test on 9dpo in the morning. Have done some FRERs since, I'm 13dpo now. What I would say is that, yeh it put and end to the 'am I pregnant?' 2WW but now I'm in a kind of 'am I going to see line progression?' 1WW so it's a wait all the same. But maybe more exciting than a usual 2WW.

@Twinkle1989 I've been using the Femometer app and a basal body thermometer - they're about £10 on amazon. Have you looked into it at all? Sorry wasn't sure if you meant how does it work in general or which app am I using 🙂I'd recommend it if you aren't doing it already. Was really reassured to have ovulation confirmed.

This is just a quick note as I'm heading out. Will have to read the rest of the messages later 🙂

AKC88 · 02/11/2020 13:46

How many DPO are you now @Cc7750?

@unCliche I'm with @HerringGull my thoughts go straight to due dates and mat leave haha!

@HerringGull I'm not exactly proving to be a difficult to crack egg here am I.

@GreenApplesYo I just intend to test until I get BFP, I will stay away from the line progression route I think, I'm 10DPO today. How long will you keep testing?

Cc7750 · 02/11/2020 13:53

@unCliche @AKC88 - straight to Mat leave defo!!

I’m guessing I’m 10dpo. I use glow app but I could be 10/11 if you allow time to ovulate after your peak LH surge...
I’ve been seeing people put a negative lense over the pics to highlight the line on these home strip cheapy tests.. the line I saw was more of a shadow. I’m due on in 3 days, ultimately that’s the main test!

AKC88 · 02/11/2020 15:26

Ooh @Cc7750 we are cycle buddies-keep me posted how you are getting on!!

AKC88 · 02/11/2020 16:03

Can any of you see it? 👀

2DPO - Anyone with me....!
Cc7750 · 02/11/2020 16:09

@AKC88 Yeap!! I see a faint shadow line 🤞🏻🤞🏻

Cc7750 · 02/11/2020 16:13

@AKC88 can I ask a random question... will you let me know if your line colour stays the same, dulls or gets stronger.. I am too new on here to be allowed to post a pic yet but my picture shows a line, now when I look at the test the line has gone!! I’m curious to know if I’m just losing my mind

GreenApplesYo · 02/11/2020 16:14

@AKC88 oh my gosh yes I can!!!

Have you got a FRER or clearblue? 🙂🙂🙂 Eek good luck for the next test

GreenApplesYo · 02/11/2020 16:17

@Cc7750 this was 8dpo for me. I had to up the contrast and saturation to make it more visible (the pic with my bumpy knee hasn't been adjusted). Of course I'd take any shadow cautiously as evaps do happen but in my case the line got darker. BTW I think you can upload a photo to Google drive if you have that and share a link.
