Tracking your cycle and possible BFP using RHR - part 4

Hi ladies,

This is for all of us with heart rate monitors who wish to help each other analyse the RHR patterns throughout our cycles.

Early research shows there's a correlation with increasing RHR and BFPs - so let's try and spot some together!

@Juno231 your chart is looking really positive, do you think you’ll test soon or wait and see?

@popcorndiva that’s a big rise!

@LarasMama will be good to get some clarity, hope your results are ok.

My early af is just brown blood by the looks of things, but expecting af to start properly tomorrow as rhr has also revised itself down by two points and so has started to fall. Going to have some red wine and cheese this evening to cheer myself up Grin

Juno231 · 21/11/2020 21:20

@MissBPotter thank you! Fingers crossed this time. I'll test tomorrow I think although I have very low expectations 😬

Well it’s not looking good ... What started as a really promising month has turned into the opposite. I’m not going to lie I’m gutted

going to be totally honest i don't know how any of your rhr charts look so normal ?! like they literally just go up then down when AF is approaching? this is mine and i'm on CD19

GlassLily · 22/11/2020 09:25

@lucyrp I think they get thrown off really easily by sleep patterns, alcohol, all sorts, so maybe you have a less regular eating/sleeping routine or something?

@poptypingchef sorry for your drop - you're not out til AF though!

Is it too early to be getting excited about this rise? I'm only 4DPO. But I've never been up to 67 before, I think 65 is my previous maximum.

So my brown spotting is now very light and my boobs are really sore. They feel kind of prickly. However, my rhr has dropped by one so probably out, just my body trying to confuse me Confused

@Juno231 did you test?

@GlassLily it does seem a little early but can’t be a bad thing?!

@lucyrp your chart does seem a little erratic!! Do you have a regular routine or maybe do shift work or something? Or maybe that’s just your normal, everyone is different.

lucyrp · 22/11/2020 09:36

@GlassLily i go to bed and wake up the same time every night and morning so isn't sleep 🙈 and o drink alcohol very rarely !

lucyrp · 22/11/2020 09:39

@MissBPotter i go to bed and wake up the same time every day and i have a 9-5 job 🤷🏼‍♀️ i do have long cycles tho, used to be regular but not since my CP they're all over the place !

GlassLily · 22/11/2020 11:50

@lucyrp huh, that's interesting! What device do you use to track RHR? Maybe it's something to do with the formula it's using?

lucyrp · 22/11/2020 11:57

@GlassLily i use my apple watch ! i do have long cycles at the moment so could be to do with that ? no idea

mumof23188 · 23/11/2020 13:06

@MissBPotter ahh no way. Has Af officially started?

@poptypingchef I’m sorry lovely. It’s just shitty isn’t it’s hope you are ok.

@Juno231 looking promising!! Did you test??? Please update!

@LarasMama nearly ov time for you ☺️. We’re quite in sync this cycle I think. I’m CD11 today.

After a moment of madness I definitely agree it was an indent. I’m CD11 today. Think ovulation today? What do you all think?

@mumof23188 yep af started properly yesterday. Not great as it was a 22 day cycle, but I did think my rhr was staying very low, so wasn’t meant to be anyway.

Looks like it could be ov day for you, time to get busy Grin

Alicespring · 23/11/2020 16:05

Hey guys, back with a wee update.

I started spotting last night (not much and was old blood) but my sore boobs have dissapeared so I've convinced myself I'm having a misscarriage 😭 I should be 5wks 4 days today. Waiting on a call back from EPU but I doubt they can do anything. I'm absolutely gutted.

lucyrp · 23/11/2020 16:58

@Alicespring oh no so sorry to hear that. fingers crossed it's nothing and you'll be fine! sending hugs 💓

Alicespring · 23/11/2020 17:32

@lucyrp

Thank you 💖 I have managed to get a scan for wed so fingers crossed 🤞

mumof23188 · 23/11/2020 18:05

@MissBPotter ah I’m sorry it arrived. It’s never easy to see it 😩. New cycle and a new chance ☺️.

We managed to do the last 4 days in a row, my OH has started working away occasionally so it’s making TTC a bit trickier but luckily we managed to dtd this morning so I’m hoping it was ov day today 🤞🤞

@Alicespring ohh I’m sorry you’ve had some spotting. You must be out of your mind with worry. Glad you’ve managed to get a scan, fingers crossed it’s just one of those things ❤️

SarahTTC2020 · 23/11/2020 18:40

Spotting with old blood is quite common so I'm remaining hopeful for you @Alicespring my boobs have been on and off throughout really so don't read too much into that, FC for the scan xx

LarasMama · 23/11/2020 20:27

@Alicespring Crossing my fingers that all is good! I had loads of spotting in the first trimester and was put on progesterone.

@mumof23188 OPK was negative and my RHR is still at 59. I’m guessing that ovulation will likely happen on Wednesday. Did you get your OPKs yet?

So I had my appointment and my doctor did a vaginal US. So she actually saw two follicles about the same size. She also told me how there’s an increase in twin and even triplet pregnancies. I think I’ll skip this cycle as chances are high with the two follicles there. It’s interesting tho, because some cycles I definitely felt ovulation on both sides. Has anyone experienced this?

mumof23188 · 23/11/2020 21:01

@LarasMama how many times a day are you testing? Yes I got my peak this evening ☺️. Hoping my bbt rises tomorrow thank confirm 🤞. I’m feeling so hopeful this cycle which doesn’t bode well.

Wow that is so interesting!! Sounds like everything went will with your scan? Imagine triplets! I find it so fascinating but also so scary. It’s amazing what the human body can do. Are you definitely skipping this cycle then?

Juno231 · 23/11/2020 21:12

@alicespring fingers crossed it's nothing and that the scan will show you everything is alright ❤️

@LarasMama "there's an increase in twins and even triplet pregnancies" - as opposed to when? As in, increase from what? I'd still try that cycle tbh cause I figure my body sucks enough at getting one egg to catch never mind the miracle it would take to succeed with two!

@mumof23188 @MissBPotter I did test and it's a BFN this cycle too! Had some spotting yesterday which I never get in my LP though and no AF still so I'm still waiting for her to arrive. Attached my chart, am 12 DPO.

@Alicespring you'll have to keep us updated. well all be thinking of you and have our fingers crossed for you 💓

lucyrp · 23/11/2020 21:15

@LarasMama another bus i'm on a lady is pregnant with twins and she said she felt ovulation on both sides the cycle she got her bfp🙈

LarasMama · 23/11/2020 21:21

@mumof23188 If you ovulate tomorrow chances are really good. I think two days before ovulation is actually the best day to dtd! Keeping my fingers crossed for you. Smile

My scan went well, she said that everything looks good, follicles have the right size and because I got pregnant so quickly with my first at 36, she doesn't think I should be worried yet.

Honestly, I have the utmost respect for all twin mothers. I do find it fascinating and scary as well. But having a super active toddler under 2, I would prefer just having one more. We dtd on CD7 only and I think I'll skip the rest of this cycle.

How old are your kids btw?

mrswilso · 23/11/2020 21:25

Buckle up girls...I need some serious honest advice...

RECAP: I found out at 7 weeks that my gestation sac is empty. Opted and encouraged to wait and went back at 9 weeks - no changes at all. At this point it felt like they were much keener to intervene and suggest an MVA.
This is where I start to get a bit confused with myself...I'm super keen to just let this happen as naturally as I possibly can but I let her book me in for this Tuesday (would be around 12+4) for the MVA, thankfully I've insisted on a scan appointment before it and I really really hope things have started to happen on their own.

I don't feel like my desire to let this happen on it's own is being taken into consideration and it’s scared me a bit tonight how quickly it all happened at that last appointment. After talking to hubby a bit more he’s told me that he felt the same way - he didn’t like how quickly the mood changed from “wait it out naturally” to “new procedure we can offer you” with no actual medical reason for that change (ie. infection, emotional distress over waiting)
I 100% understand that some people would cope better with having some sort of closure to it all but I'm fit and healthy with no signs of infection (I'm being temp checked every weekday in work too) or any other issues and I would much rather avoid intervention. I have a fairly high pain threshold so that's not my fear; maybe I'm a bit of a hippy, I just like to let my body do it's thing until I really really have to get involved - I'm not one for running to the doctor unless somethings wrong...and nothings physically wrong with me, my body's just not figured out that sacs empty yet...

This is where all you clever girls come in. I’ve attached my chart for the past three months. The red horizontal line is the RHR of my last period at the end of August. The red vertical line shows the start of my first bleed around 6 weeks. The green vertical and horizontal show the RHR when I got my BFP.
To me, it looks like my body is slowly but surely getting the message that this is a loss and THAT is making me want to wait it out naturally even more...am I crazy? What’s your opinion??

I think I've already decided I really don't want this procedure. I’m just preparing myself for some resistance from the hospital...they seem so so keen to intervene but haven’t really offered many solid medical reasons why...

Hope you’re all keeping well 💕 I’ll have a catch up through all the posts now that I’ve spewed my mixed up little brain up all over the board now 🤣😘

@Juno231 Your chart looks really good still! Keep in mind 12 DPO could still be too early to test. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

She meant there is an increase after Covid. Two of my friends are also pregnant with twins and their doctors said the same. It's probably due to more pregnancies in general. Lots of people are ttc'ing it seems.
