@MamaMoonbeam @Char899 congratulations both! Amazing news!!!! Grow babies, grow! Its lovely to hear some positive news. Share your tips, what did you do this cycle!

MamaMoonbeam · 15/11/2020 19:10

Thank you! This was our first cycle. I haven't used hormonal contraception for over 4 years so decided in sept.
I use OPKs and peaked on 1st Nov. DTD 29th, 30th, 1st, 2nd and 3rd with watery/ewcm on the 1st.
Frers were negative up until yesterday but, interestingly, I had an OPK high/peak on thursday and tested negative on a one step dipstick the same day...

Hi, can I join? Although can see you already have your BFP OP! Congrats!!

It took us about 5 months first time round and more cycles as I tend to have short cycles (usually only around 23 days although it does vary). We tried for the first time yesterday. We have one DC who is 2.5. We wanted to start trying at the beginning of the year but we felt we couldn't until now for financial/work reasons so feeling v aggrieved about that as it so do hope it doesn't take that long this time around as the age gap is already getting bigger than we would have ideally liked. But I'm thinking we are likely to DTD less often this time around with all the other demands on our time and energy now so wouldn't be surprised if it takes longer than last time tbh.

MrsCremuel · 15/11/2020 21:32

Just found this thread - first try tonight for our 2nd. DS is 18mo. It took us 11 months last time so thought we should get cracking just in case. This is only my 4th period as I am still bfing my first and they are all over the place so will be difficult to predict those fertile wondows. Relying on ovulation strips, which I didn't get on with last time, and the 'wonderful' emergence of ovulation pain I now get every cycle!

Great to see some BFPs already.x

jennyshere123 · 15/11/2020 22:23

hiya, my husband and i are saving up for IVF at the moment.. but I've started seeing things about how ivf babies can have a higher rate of downs and death.. im not worried, does anyone have any information or advice..? would be appreciated.. thanks x

Bellaphant · 15/11/2020 22:47

@MeadowHay, @MrsCremuel, welcome! I guess I'm only on period 3 as well after coming off the pill, but I'm still breastfeeding.

It took me a bit to get on with opks but I'm definitely going to keep using them! I'm saving a frer for Tuesday but might try an ic tomorrow, lol.

If I'm out this month I think I need a Dr appt anyway - second month I've been throwing up a bunch the week before my period without the bfp - don't know if it's anxiety, hormones or what!

@jennyshere123, I think you need your own thread.

EllyNC · 16/11/2020 07:46

@MrsCremuel @Bellaphant still bf over here too, got AF back about 5 months ago and seems my norm now, so hoping it doesn’t affect it too much but I do wonder if it will slow things down 🥴 No way I’m getting my son off the boob anytime soon tho haha so trying to just not worry about it too much. How often do you guys still feed, out of interest? My cycles also a bit all over the place, but always are. I find OPKs really difficult too, never seem to get a positive but Fairly sure I ovulate so wonder if I just miss it! 🤷🏻‍♀️ Tend to rely on cm and hope we’ve caught it haha.

@jennyshere123 sorry lovely, I’ve not got any info on that, agree maybe start a thread? Sure lots of people will be able to reassure you!

EllyNC · 16/11/2020 07:47

Anymore BFP this morning? Where in cycle is everyone? Think I’m either 1 or 2 dpo if I had to guess, don’t know for sure!

Mommabear20 · 16/11/2020 08:18

Welcome to everyone that's just joined!

Definitely not obsessing over it as much this month, think I just got ott excited last month as our DD was a first month conception! 😂

Af is due in about 6 days so 🤞🤞

We got some bad news yesterday about our childcare situation we were relying on for my return to work in February so stress levels are now super high for us which I know won't help 🤦‍♀️

MeadowHay · 16/11/2020 10:43

@EllyNC291 ahh here it's the other way around, DH would never say no unless he was ill lol it's me that often feels too wiped out to bother.

I think cos it took us 5 months first time my expectations are set by that, so I deffo won't be getting sucked into obsessing over it, as I'm expecting it will take a number of months at least. One thing that makes it easier for me as well though is how short my cycles are, so I don't have a lot of waiting around for a period to come.

@MrsCremuel omg, I get ovulation cramp pain since having DD too! I have never heard this could happen as a result of having a child and I've not heard anyone else say it happened to them. Pre-DD I would get it occasionally maybe a few times a year but very mild. Since I had her I get it almost every cycle and more pain as well. No idea what it is about having a child that could cause that though?! I partly wondered whether it's not related and was just a change as I'm aging, possibly? Was 23 when I fell pregnant with her and now about to turn 27.

How old are all your children?

Mommabear20 · 16/11/2020 12:26

@MeadowHay I've noticed it too! Never ever had pain before DD but have had it every month since.

My DD is 20 weeks 😁 hoping for a close age gap!

Char899 · 16/11/2020 14:19

Thanks @Mommabear20 your testing soon right?

Any update @Bellaphant?

Fx for some more bfps. I’m going to stick around for a while as I really want to see some more 😊

EllyNC · 16/11/2020 15:23

@Mommabear20 hope you get childcare sorted, not fun to stress about ☹️

I’m confused as presumed because of ewcm that i had already ovulated but today got my first positive opk!! Cd 16 but I do sometimes have long cycles so guess it could be right!!

Mommabear20 · 16/11/2020 15:33

@Char899 gonna hold off till/if AF is late. I spent so much money last month on test 😳

@EllyNC me too! 🤞🤞 just annoying that it's so close to me returning to work now so most places are booked up 🤦‍♀️

OP posts:
Bellaphant · 16/11/2020 16:39

@Char899, did another cheapie this morning and same thing - faint line in five mins but faded In a few hours.

@EllyNC291

Morning and, tea time and night on nursery days but also 12 and 4 am lol, he's stuck in this pattern even tho he's in his own bed now! He's 16 months. On non nursery days he gets a midday feed to sleep too.

@Mommabear20 I wasn't allowed a short gap as he was emcs :(

Bellaphant · 16/11/2020 16:41

@Mommabear20, my shower is leaking and the ceiling is wet. And Ds is sick so can't be in nursery today and we have a house valuation this week so I'm frazzled. You'll find somewhere!

@EllyNC291

That happened to me too - ewcm over the weekend that my app predicated, but opk positive on Wednesday!!!

Bellaphant · 17/11/2020 07:01

I feel like @Char899 but you guys can see this?

TTC baby #2
Char899 · 17/11/2020 08:21

@Bellaphant I can’t see it! Do you have a pink dye test?
