Oh @ActonBell :( I am so sorry 😞 💗💗

Did they do surgery or did it resolve itself?

So sorry,that's heartbreaking

ActonBell · 05/01/2021 10:05

Emergency surgery. It ruptured and I was haemorrhaging. I lost a Fallopian tube.

Annny27 · 05/01/2021 10:27

Thats devastating @actonbell 💗 thank goodness you are okay but its still a traumatic loss none the less xxx

Hello ladies! 4dpo today and feeling angry, not sure why, probably the lockdown situation and the tww hormones haha

How are all my other ladies?

@ActonBell still thinking of you 💗

@creativethinkertequiladrinker I dont reallydrink that much tbh but the month we conceived last year I drank a glass of wine in the tww so it obviously didn't do harm haha! I personally cut down but don't totally avoid. I drink occasionally and if that happens to be in the tww then so be it

Hannah154 · 07/01/2021 13:23

Hi everyone! I'm hoping to join in the thread - technically not passed the 12 month mark yet but I'm in my 12th month of trying (AF showed up 3 days early on Tuesday) and I've found reading the thread really helpful especially when I'm finding it too difficult at times. We're trying for our first baby and we both recently turned 30. All my friends (and sister) that have had babies fell pregnant within 3 months max 🤦🏻‍♀️ so I probably had unrealistic expectations from the outset thinking that was normal.

I had a call with the GP who was reluctant to do anything (even blood tests) saying we should try for another year before being referred for tests. I don't think I can take another 12 months of this without having any investigations so I pushed and he's agreed to do one set of bloods to test progesterone and thyroid levels and then quote "when those results come back normal continue trying". My husband managed to speak to a different doctor who was more helpful and has referred him for a SA so we're just waiting for that now. If they come back normal then we're thinking of going private for some further investigations.

I hope that 2021 will bring everyone more luck than last year xx

Motherofkittens28 · 07/01/2021 14:09

@creativethinkertequiladrinker I dont drink in the two week wait, frankly don't have more than about 1 glass of wine a month and its not helped. I'm not a big drinker and I just dont want to do anything to jeopardise our chances so no alcohol, no lbruprofen, limited caffeine etc. That's not to say you need to do that!.
@annny27 I'm sure i had some angry days earlier this month, must be January! Im on cycle day 26 today, 11dpo but I'm pretty convinced I'm not pregnant. Just paid access fertility an extortionate sum so we are now all ready to start our long ivf protocol as soon as AF shows up.

Motherofkittens28 · 07/01/2021 14:12

Oh and I'm thinking of starting to take DHEA when my new cycle starts as I read it can improve egg quality, does anyone have any experience of it or heard anything about it?

crazycatlady1981 · 07/01/2021 14:13

Hi all! I’m currently CD 8, fw starts tomorrow! I’ve started drinking grapefruit juice to increase cm, hoping that may helps things! I vaguely remember someone posting on here about grapefruit juice and was wondering how much to drink, how effective it was etc?

@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker I try to avoid alcohol during the tww if I can resist, but sometimes have a glass of red wine! I think small amounts would be fine! I’m not a big drinker anyway so I’m usually tipsy on one glass! 🤪
The first month I started taking supplements, I had a 31 day cycle which is really strange for me as I’m usually 26-27 so I put it down to the supplements! They went back to normal the month after though and have been ok ever since.

Welcome @Hannah154 👋🏻 Great that you managed to get some blood tests and SA done! I think you have to persevere a bit with some GPs! Hope you get some answers soon!

crazycatlady1981 · 07/01/2021 14:22

@Motherofkittens28 good luck with the ivf!
Hoping to hear from the clinic about ours soon!
I’m taking DHA (omega 3) I think that’s different to DHEA, but i believe it’s supposed to help with cm and egg quality.

Motherofkittens28 · 07/01/2021 14:48

Thanks @crazycatlady1981. I take DHA as well, the DHEA is some sort of growth hormone that is supposed to rejuvenate your eggs or some such. Generally not sufficiently tested for doctors to recommend it but there have been studies showing to help in ivf cycles

Hope everyone is okay! AF due in 4 days and got usual cramps etc so I'll be out.
Had my second private consultation which has done positive news. The consultant is referring me to their nhs clinic with them for the scans etc as I was quoted an additional £900 on top of the 1200 I was originally quoted.
My original bloods with gp suggested I was not ovulating.
Private bloods have shown I'm ovulating, along with no issues with thyroid. What did come back was a vitamin D deficiency. Also the consultant said that my fertility reserve (can't remember name but something like that ) levels are a tad lower than should be for a 29 year old. She said she isn't worried but it looks more like someone in their 30s than 29 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ she did stress that it's not really low, but just a touch lower than expected. Feeling slightly happier that I ovulated as that was my worry with the nhs bloods. She said I must have had the nhs ones done a few days out.
Waiting game now for my nhs referral. DH still waiting on his date to get his sample deposited and checked.

@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker I don't drink much but I don't cut out alcohol in the TWW. I've had multiple positives and had a drink in the TWW. In fact, the indication I've been pregnant was having a sip of wine, then being violently sick straight away 😂 if I can't drink wine we've always tested and sure enough, pregnant. Sadly none have stuck. As long as you aren't insanely binge drinking (which is bad anyways) I wouldn't worry about drinking in the TWW. My consultant said it's daft to cut out drinking unless it's unhealthy levels.

@Annny27 I'm always raging from about 4dpo until after AF 😂😂 my hormones are horrendous!

Yutes · 07/01/2021 21:35

Agnus castus / vitex did nothing for me at all but i did lots of research that it can really mess your cycles up... and not for the better in some cases. Your cycles could change for a number of reasons.

I’ve stopped taking ibuprofen and will abstain from drinking now that I’ve officially started treatment. Have you all reduced your caffeine? I’m not sure I drink that much caffeine anyway, but I might be surprised if I add up all the tea and fizzy pop.

Narwhal88 · 07/01/2021 21:50

@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker I took agnus castus for a month to try and stop my spotting and increase my LP but it caused even more spotting so I stopped. It is meant to help length your LP so it could cause longer cycles.
Regarding alcohol, I barely drink as I don't really enjoy it but I would still have a glass of something in the TWW. I didn't for the first 12 months of trying but don't care anymore haha. I think if you are drinking a lot it can impact but not the odd glass.
