@Chel93 my OH has low count and zero motility he has just started month 5 of Impryl. They did improve his count ever so slightly but last SA was when he had been on them only 2 months. 🤞🏻 they help your OH. We are going into private IVF in the new year x

Hey everyone, hope you all had a nice Christmas.
We just had our ivf consultation today and its got me feeling really low. I think im just so scared to start this part of the journey knowing that its likely to cost us a fortune with no guarantees. They have recommended a long protocol because of my low ovarian reserve but because I don't yet have the date for my Laparoscopy its not clear when we can start as it needs to be the first day of my period after that has been done. Its suddenly really becoming real to me that we might come out of this with no baby and ive been tearful all day. I guess we just need to hope that all the dtd this cycle will have given us a miracle and ivf isn't needed. My friend gave me a fertility crystal fof Christmas and at this stage I'll try anything so ive been holding it everyday, you never know.

@Motherofkittens28 ahh sorry to hear how anxious you are about it. Surely they gave you some hope? Keep holding onto the crystal! Our appointments not until 22nd feb so got ages yet.

Just a quick update, as I posted about my presumed chemical earlier on this thread. Well, the bleeding stopped on Christmas Day and the tests have stayed positive. In fact had a 2-3 on a clear blue today. Referred to epu because of bleeding and had HCG bloods done. Now I need to wait and see what happens. Might get a scan next week.

@notyetamumbuttrying - thanks. They said they’d ring today or tomorrow with the first lot and then I’ll probably have to repeat to see if it’s going up. I was pretty floored when I saw the 2-3 today!

@Motherofkittens28 it's so scary isn't it. Remember IVF is successful a lot of the time, even if people need multiple rounds. There is no reason to believe it won't work for you. Plenty of women with low ovarian reserve get pregnant, some naturally and lots with IVF. I hope you get some dates for your laparoscopy soon, I think it's easier to cope when you have a date to aim for.

I had my ivf consultation on 23rd Dec. Over the phone. I must admit I am sick of phone appointments. They are not the same and part of me thinks I just make them up in my head as I've never actually seen anyone 😂
My TSH is slightly elevated at 2.8 and they want it below 2.5, so I have to go on levothyroxine for a month to lower it. This is a very slightly underactive thyroid basically. She said all the January appointments for IVF are full anyway. So I will likely start end of Feb or beginning of March. My period is due 10th March so hopefully it will be then. I will be on short protocol with a low stims dose due to my AMH. Got to wait for the nurses to book me in for a nurse consultation now.

Also worked out if ivf works first time the baby would be due Christmas 🎄 obviously I know it may not work so I shouldn't do this to myself but we all know we can't help it!

@Narwhal88 glad things are moving along. I did the same about having a Christmas baby if it works first time and we get to start in March! So you're not alone in your thinking. We all do it don't we! X

@Narwhal88 you are right, I think I have a tendency to be negative almost as a protection. I've just called the NHS hospital re my lap to see if they can give me an idea of when it will be and they said they are currently cancelling all operations for the first two weeks in January because of covid (the dr had originally said to me it would probably be middle of Feb) Maybe its a sign that we should just start with my next cycle on 10th Jan

@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker hi and welcome! You're in good company. Very similar to me but I'm 34, (35 in March 😱) Dh is 37, (38 in feb) and we're on month 16 as of tomorrow! I'm also fine but Dh is not...his results are worse than your husbands so it's defo icsi for us. Our first appointment is 22nd feb with the ACU at guy's hospital. So his results were 5mil per ml count, 2.3% morphology and only 14% motility. He too is on proxceed and we won't get our repeat SA until that feb appointment. What was your dh's count? Count per ml is prob most important tbh and his motility sounds good. I was told anything above 32% is good.
I too am worse off contraception and have awful emotions when I'm due on and have gained a ton of weight! Treating myself every month and the whole time my period is here!

@notyetamumbuttrying have you ovulated? I am not tracking ovulation sticks but I know from ewcm that I am probably ovulating atm

Thanks for the support and encouragement on this thread. HcG tests showed more than doubling levels. Dated at nearly 6 weeks pregnant. EPU tell me there’s every reason to hope this will continue as a normal pregnancy. Still can’t believe it! Feel quite apprehensive still after all the bleeding but trying to be positive. So many good wishes for all of you this year. for everyone struggling with hormones, etc.

@CreativeThinkerTequilaDrinker haha mums are ridiculous sometimes aren't they! Mine knows our issue is with Dh and that ivf is our option so at least she's quiet now as she knows the date of the first appointment.
Haha you're like me with forgetting your age 😂 I'm glad your amh levels are good, I won't know mine until end of feb at this appointment. I got over 60 on the ov bit of day 21 bloods so hoping my amh is fine.
His results sound good apart from morphology. Have a look at proxeed plus. It's what my Dh was recommended and it's good for the shape of sperm so could be all that's needed to sort them out!
They never said it was impossible, just that ivf was needed so I take that as natural is very unlikely.
My gp was really good and suggested that Dh get referred to a urologist and it was the urologist that referred us to the acu clinic after he had blood tests and a testes scan! All came back normal so he's stopped smoking, cut back on drink, taking the supplements, doing some exercise, eating more fruit etc etc. We'll see what difference it's made (if any) at this feb appointment.
I'll take some podcast recommendations! Can't hurt to have more. Doing dry jan to help with my blubber and going to actually open my joe wicks cook book 😂
