@RichmondLady1981 @VP91x @Firevie thank you ladies. I had a pot of a pity party at first & then I just had an evening of researching & talking to friends/family and now I feel absolutely okay about it. Still a smidgen of ‘woe is me’ internally but I’ll get over that, it’s just our journey & sadly like many of us, we aren’t one of those couples with an easy TTC journey...which does makes it more special and unique and certainly makes the love stronger as a couple.
Anyhow my next step is to wait till Monday & hope the GP can share all the results with me. If not I’m at least going to ask out right if I have cysts. Then I have to wait till my consultant appt (likely to be end of November as I rang hospital to check) to get the rest of our results & discuss going forward. So if from Monday I have no cysts, we have made the decision that I am going to start clomid this cycle, cd5.
thanks VP. Although my cycles are regular, they are heavy, i do have to really manage my skincare to keep on top of my soon & the main one is I do have excess hair (I actually went to the GP before my 21st and said because of my excess hair I think I have PCOS but they were kind of dismissive about it & did a bloods test but that’s it (ofc not gunna show on just bloods, but I didn’t know that then).
The research I’ve done thus far identifies that although I’m getting LH surges on the OPKs etc, it doesn’t necessarily mean ovulation, it’s just that the body is Growing the egg etc but doesn’t mature enough to release...but it’s still picked up by the OPK. My friend is with a fertility specialist and they’ve advised not to use OPKs with PCOs because of this. So I’ve naively been thinking I’m ovulating every month which I may well not have been.
I’m going to do a bit more research today but I do think my POA is clomid this cycle if no worrying cysts, and then wait for the November appt thereafter. We may also consider private too...my friend has her first private appt Tuesday so will see how she gets on and recommends etc xxxxxxxxxx
