Anyone mind me joining with a quick question?

I just wanted to know if the general ‘rule’ (I know this is not a hard and fast thing) is that the symptoms you get when you have a BFP are different to when you’re waiting for AF to arrive?
So lots of people have said on the forums that they felt AF was coming only to get a BFP but some have said they had nothing and then get a BFP, although they usually have AF type symptoms.

So I guess my very confusing question is that as I normally get AF type pains etc a week before AF, does that mean I’ll likely only get a BFP on the month I don’t notice any such symptoms and that I’m out again this month as I am having the pre AF cramps?

(A medal to anyone who can understand this post Grin) xx

Danni2020 · 17/10/2020 20:14

@AmesK just to say I have been TTC for a long time now and every cycle I have many different things going on. Some cycles no sore boobs or cramps other cycles really sore and lots of cramps and twinges so I have stopped looking for any symptoms now really as I don't think there is any clear pattern and from what I have read online it is same for others too. Unfortunately this TTC business is just torture during the TWW. I think your never out though until af shows up though so fingers crossed for you x

AmesK · 17/10/2020 22:28

@Danni2020 Thanks for this! I think you’re right, I never know what my body is doing and all this ‘symptom spotting’ just ends up driving me mad! I end up on hour long desperate internet searches looking for someone somewhere who had the exact same symptoms as me and got their BFP and it’s been a massive waste of my time so far as clearly no BFP HmmGrin

Hope this cycle is your cycle though!! Whereabouts are you in the journey? XX

Danni2020 · 18/10/2020 16:16

@AmesK I feel like a long time veteran into this TTC journey. I'm 18 months trying since a miscarriage. I do have an under active thyroid though which I'm hoping has gone back to normal levels next week after another blood test. I have a child though who is 3 so he keeps me going I honestly don't know how people do this first time round so I try to look for the positives. How about you?

Danni2020 · 18/10/2020 16:26

Well af showed up for me today 2 days late but I'm taking it as a positive as hoping my cycle is going back to being a little bit longer and back to where it was pre thyroid levels. It is apparently the luteal phase that under active thyroid can affect making it shorter so I'm definitely taking my 2 days later period as a positive I have to look for positives otherwise I will go mad! Hope everyone is ok has been very quiet on here this week hoping some people are still out there x

AmesK · 18/10/2020 19:33

@Danni2020 I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriage hun, but I'm glad that you are keeping positive and have your lovely 3 year old to keep you going. It is a long and tough journey isn't it?
I like your advice about looking for the positives and its great that your cycles seem to be settling in amongst all the low thyroid issues. Sending you lots of love and baby dust!

The journey has been pretty brutal for me tbh. TTC my first for 2 years with not a hint of a line anywhere. Its exhausting!

Danni2020 · 18/10/2020 20:04

@AmesK oh sorry here is me going on about how I don't know how people get through it with their first and I'm so sorry that you are going through it because I wouldn't wish this on anyone it is so so hard. It is exhausting I feel you on that one! Have you been to the doctor or had any tests done? This thread has gone a bit quieter as late with a few BFP recently but those BFPs had been trying a long time too so was great to see. This thread has definitely been getting me through and sometimes it is just good to know your not alone. Really hope your BFP comes soon too xx

Missgoldilocks · 20/10/2020 13:16

@Danni2020 hey chick sorry I've been quiet I was away over the weekend with friends and had a great time, nice to keep myself busy :). Sorry af got you :( it's so hard xx I was getting a little excited thinking maybe af won't come because I've had no symptoms then yesterday I was getting af pains and feeling like I wanted to cry lol do tell tale sign. If I ovulated on cd15 I should come on tomorrow but any time this week I could come on since I don't know when i ovulated and those stupid soy isoflavones messed me up!!!!! I'm hoping maybe there's still a chance I could be pregnant 😭😔 xx

Danni2020 · 22/10/2020 21:01

@Missgoldilocks my turn for being away for a few days. Was just so nice to be away as a family not thinking about stuff. Sorry that af got you too. Any news on your appointment? Blood test for me tomorrow then will be on the phone to the doctors next week to see what the next stage will be for me x

Missgoldilocks · 23/10/2020 09:00

@Danni2019 well the news is bad news :( they rang me by accident it shoukd have only been people who were having follow up appointments not first appointments 😔 so still have to wait till january
We are looking up ivf now ready for around that time anyway. Good luck with your bloods x

OP posts:
Danni2020 · 24/10/2020 12:32

@Missgoldilocks that is really cruel getting your hopes up like that for an appointment. I'm sure January will be here before we know it though. Fingers crossed you never have to even go to the appointment though 🤞 x

JenTTC1981 · 30/10/2020 11:20

Hey. I’m new to mumsnet today. I cannot work it out at all! Can anyone help me on where I click to start a new topic?

Thanks in advance! :)

Danni2020 · 02/11/2020 21:04

Hoping some people are still out there on this thread as need some advice. When you have been so long TTC and still something new happens to freak you out. Well this cycle is different for me 1DPO and some pink discharge now 2DPO and have some more when I wiped this time with some red spots of blood in it. How can I have be having this spotting so early on. Only other time I've had pink discharge is usually near my af arriving. Aaahhh why can't it just be a normal cycle what could cause this spotting so early on? Hoping someone is still there xx

Missgoldilocks · 03/11/2020 09:35

@Danni2019 hey Danni how are you? I've been steering clear of mums net just to try and get things out of my head but popped on and saw your message! I have no idea what that is, could it be spotting from ovulation?? I seriously have no idea, did you have a smear recently? You should keep an eye on that just in case x

OP posts:
BFP2020 · 03/11/2020 13:25

@Danni2020 hey I'm still keeping an eye on this thread. I've had this and I put it down to ovulation spotting which is normal enough I think it's only ever happened twice to me! X

Danni2020 · 04/11/2020 19:02

@BFP2020 and @Missgoldilocks thanks for your reply. I'm going to put it down to ovulation just very stance for me. Spotting continued for a couple of days but now stopped. Hoping it's a good thing that well at least I am ovulating as I read ovulation bleeding is a good sign.

@BFP2020 hope your keeping ok and doing well x

Missgoldilocks · 10/11/2020 15:55

I'm having a lap done at the end of the month and I'm nervously EXCITED to get some answers!! Hoping they find adhesions that they can take out and when I come to they're like "hey, you had adhesions that's why you haven't been getting pregnant but it's fine because we cut them all out! Now go and jump on some willy because you have the aaaaallll clear" best case scenario. Honestly if she says nope dunno why you aren't getting pregnant lol I'm gonna be like 😬😬😬😬😬😬😬 no patience patty!! @BFP2020 you had a lap done right and fell after? Xx

Mumofboys17 · 10/11/2020 18:10

@Missgoldilocks hello my lovely! I promise I have still been floating around in the background every now and then, I've just been really conscious of over posting here past the BFP stage as I don't want to become over bearing!!
I'm doing OK though 😊 I'm 18 weeks on Thursday, next scan is 1st dec and we'll hopefully find out if we're expecting another boy or a little girl! Can't believe how fast it's gone!! 😳 hope you're doing ok! That's fab news about the appointment, really hope you start getting some REAL answers! I still have every faith it'll happen for you, you've done so well to keep going up til now!! ❤️ xxx
Hope everyone else is doing ok too! I really miss the crazy gang!! X

Fredthespider · 10/11/2020 20:27

Hello lovely ladies! I am also checking in regularly but not posting. I'm getting on ok, coming up on 38 weeks now which is just crazy to think. I had a little downer week just over a month ago at what would have been the due date of the one we lost but also feeling very grateful that I was able to catch again so quickly. My trust have just announced no visitors to the wards so I need to hope we have a straightforward birth otherwise I'm on my own :(

@Missgoldilocks hope the lap goes well! I had one in 2015 which showed nothing which was devastating at the time so I hope you get better luck and they find something 'fixable'. When not TTC/PG I end up loaded up on the hormones to keep everything in check.

@Mumofboys17 18 weeks has gone sooo quickly!

Missgoldilocks · 10/11/2020 23:24

@Mumofboys17 Ahhh that has flown by!! That's so exciting 😍😍 what do you want? I guess I'd be happy with any but deep down I'd want a little girl lol then you have both! So glad you're doing well xxxx

@Fredthespider omg not long now!! When's your due date? Im going to keep everything crossed for you that you have a straight forward birth 🤞🙏❤️ being alone would be :( so fingers crossed!! Ohh okay, well I guess if lap is clear I will just have to have faith it'll happen, or there's always ivf lol xx

OP posts:
Mumofboys17 · 11/11/2020 15:36

@Missgoldilocks I would honestly be happy with either, but would be nice to have one of each 😂 I’m not intending to try for a 3rd after all the TTC stress the (almost) 2 I’ve got have caused me!! Plus I definitely forgot how hard I found pregnancy the first time around 😫 I’m not unwell or anything but I have issues with my back and pelvis, I’ve really popped in the last couple weeks and I’ve been in agony some days!! It’s all worthwhile though and I’m definitely not complaining!! Xxx

@Fredthespider I really feel for you lovely. I’m sure everything will be absolutely fine, try your best not to worry about the next bit just yet. My DS’s birth wasn’t really straightforward but we were still home within 24 hours of him arriving, I think you have to stay on the ward for 12 hours minimum after delivery anyway? But that may be different in other hospitals, of course!! Get plenty of rest and look after yourself 😊 xx

Danni2020 · 12/11/2020 18:54

@Missgoldilocks still here too af has shown up for me today so on to another cycle now. I will have another blood test in a few weeks and honestly so done with these thyroid levels now it better be back to normal as I don't think I can take another 6 weeks of waiting. Just want to go into next year with a little bit of hope 🤞 x
