Hey ladies! Hope you are all doing ok! Sorry I’ve been absent for a few weeks, had such a busy month of work, but been trying to keep up with the thread!

AF arrived last Saturday so I’m currently cd4, was really heavy and painful compared to previous months so had lots of wine and cake over the weekend to cheer me up!
Turned 39 a few weeks ago which was a bit depressing as I really hoped I’d be on the way to having a baby by now! Planning to start some acupuncture asap as I’ve heard it can be quite beneficial for fertility and also it might chill me out a bit! Has anyone had it before?

So temp right back up to 37 this morning but for some reason I decided not to test. Prob just as well as half an hour later I started spotting so I’m sure this is af coming.

I’m actually sort of glad this cycle is over. Think I’m going back to taking pregnacare as I had perfect 28 day cycles on it and since stopping it my ovulation has been later and later. Worth a shot I guess!

@LT103 it's weird that your temp would go up if AF was on her way though? Or would that be normal at 10 dpo for you? I can understand you just wanting this cycle over. If you had regular cycles with pregnacare then why not go back on it.

@crazycatlady1981 welcome back! Sorry you're on another cycle... remind us...how long have you been trying? Acupuncture is worth a shot I think. I've thought about it for relieving stress.
I'll be going into another stressful period in the new year with work, I'm struggling about whethy to tell them I'm trying for a baby I need to reduce my workload and building my career. Has anyone else had this problem?

@LT103 sorry to hear that you’re spotting 🙁 I’d definitely go back onto pregnacare if it was keeping your cycles so regular!

@butterfly5291 been trying for about 2 years roughly! We started way back in 2017, but had several breaks when we weren’t trying because work was stressful, tiring, moving house etc and I started tracking my periods in Oct 2018, so with the breaks it’s been about 2 years in total! Really wishing I’d give it more thought in the early days!! 😫
I’m self employed so I haven’t got any experience about asking for reduced workload. It might be worth a go, can you ask to reduce your hours? Maybe go more part-time? Lockdown has reduced mine which I’m quite thankful for as I can focus on ttc a bit more now! Im usually working 6-7 days a week at this time of year!!

@crazycatlady1981 have you had any tests done. That’s my next step I think as I’m almost 39 and been ttc since about may

@butterfly5291 no not normal for me but that doesn’t surprise me this month. I often have a temp drop the day of af not always before it so will keep checking. No morespotting since this mor big but I often only get spotting in the morning so not sure I’ll know any more until tomorrow

My career is very busy but I need something to focus on so I'm a bit less obsessed and crazy! The plan was to just get my body and hormones ready for when I finish my current work stuff but I'm worried about my age so if I get pg sooner I'll just pick up my career later down the line. It's like career change no. 3 or so anyway 😂

@butterfly5291 how's your temp today? What DPO will you be tomorrow?

@Stabal I'll be 11 dpo tomorrow. Temp went up 36.79 to 36.90 this morning.

I don't really know what work could do, I don't want to stop my career but at the same time I don't want stress to become the reason I don't get pregnant

Hey everyone,

Sorry been quiet on here past couple of days. Hope everyone is getting on ok. I had my hycosy scan today. Everything looked totally fine and the dye flowed both fallopian tubes fine, such a relief. Not going to lie it wasn't a fun procedure and still got really bad cramping tonight but def bearable. Such a relief to have it done and will be back in the TTC club next month.

@Mia1985x ahh I'm so pleased everything seemed fine! Have you had any bleeding? How long did it take? I'm so anxious lol. Have you been advised what happens next?

@Stabal no proper bleeding no. Just a tiny bit of spotting and some of the lovely sticky dye coming back out. I was in about 45 mins in total but scan was only maybe 15 mins of that. As everything was fine for me we've just to go back to TTC from next month and come February if nothing then it will be ivf route.
I asked about the theory that it increases fertility and the Dr said there is evidence it increases for the next 3 months-ish so to get back to it.
The Dr I had was brilliant, explained it all to me and showed me everything on the screen as it was happening. She was able to show me where I ovulated this month and also how my lining as started building up in the past week since ovulation. So all looked as it should.
You will be fine when yours comes round. Are you waiting on AF arriving just now to then call up?

@Mia1985x fantastic, I'm so glad you had as good an experience as possible. How are you feeling about the IVF route? Yeah just waiting for AF now. On 5DPO so probably another 10 days to wait though last cycle I only made it to 8DPO before AF showed but that was really odd for me, my luteal phase has always been on the longer side!

@Stabal aw thanks. I was so nervous and hardly slept last night watching videos and reading stories online of people's experiences haha. Not too long for you to wait now then hopefully.

I actually feel ok about ivf. Its good to know nothing majorly obvious is wrong (as frustrating as that also is) and that there are other options out there.

@Mia1985x the thought of IVF actually excites me. I know it's a stressful time itself and no guarantee of it working but here's just something about the stress of 'trying' taken away that makes me really eager to start the process

Tested this morning, just an IC but bfn! I had such high hopes for this cycle. 😔

Sorry to hear, could it be too early?

I'm cd3 and having bad cramps and backache and acne but it's actually refreshing to know it means absolutely nothing 😂 I'm making a big effort to chill out as I've been too crazy for the last two cycles. Apart from some other distractions, I'm going to enjoy some things that I couldn't do with a baby!

I’m def out for this month. Temps down and spotting worse. Cd1 will either be today or tomorrow I’m sure. My original plan was to call the doctor after this cycle but given the fact that my oh is stressed about his final exams in 3 or 4 wks time and the fact I just found out he’s not actually registered at a doctor since moving in with me over 18mths ago 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ I’m giving it one more cycle then I’ll call. Maybe we’ll get lucky and get the best Christmas present we could ask for!!!!

@Mia1985x sorry I forgot to comment on your scan. Sounds like it went well... really hope it helps in the next couple of months.

@LT103 urgh that sucks but hopefully you can feel better about moving onto next cycle. Are you going to get pregnacare? Why don't you try to get him registered this month at least so if you do need to go in Jan that bit is done. I really hope you get the best Christmas present ever too.

I just worry that because I have endometriosis that each month I have a period it's causing scar tissue and damage to my tubes. DH is not being helpful either, he's not concerned because it's only month 4 and I have tested early. I said maybe my womb is a hostile environment and he said probably is if it's like your personality so now I'm fuming with him.

@butterfly5291 to be honest I'm absolutely fuming at him for you! I'd have said, "not as hostile as your f*cking attitude". I'm going to assume he's under the illusion that conception is super easy and if there's an issue it's probably the woman's reproductive system that she can't control 🙄 it makes me really sad to think some men think like that and makes me extremely paranoid that my OH resents me for all this. I'd have a serious chat with him, explain how hurtful that was and try and help him rationally see your worries

@LT103 I'm sorry 😔 I guess FF was right about your O day being later. I would still contact your GP because your side of referrals is separate from the sperm analysis and in my experience the sperm analysis takes mere weeks to come through whereas your side can take months. So I'd get the ball rolling while you're getting him registered etc

@Stabal he's apologised now and has listened to me. I think he's just trying to get me not to worry as it's only 4 months and I don't know for sure this month is out yet either.
Do you get where I'm coming from that not only do I have the disappointment of not being pregnant but the worry that it's another month of potential damage by bleeding?

@stabal yeah I guess I’m just looking for an excuse to delay it and hope it isn’t necessary. I’ll maybe speak to oh and decide what is best then maybe give them a call.

@butterfly5291 that is annoying. I know from speaking to my oh that although we both want to start a family, I’m more in the “I want it now” camp and he’s def more “it will happen when it happens” I guess just different personalities. Any time I’ve spoke to him about the chances of conception at my age, he does tell me not to be so negative and that I shouldn’t be worrying. I’m not sure if he genuinely doesn’t understand or he’s just trying to stop me stressing. I just accept we look at it differently but it is frustrating!!

I would go to the doctor just to get the ball rolling. Your oh won't have to do anything till he's ready but yours will probably take longer

@butterfly5291 I'm glad he's apologised and I hope you're okay. I'm so stubborn I wouldn't accept the apology for days 😂 like @LT103 I think our OH's approach is to go with the flow mainly for the benefit of trying to keep us sane. My OH always says "we just have to keep trying" but I know he's devastated each month too. It breaks my heart when he talks about his little niece and we have a group chat with my 14 year old niece as the 3 of us are really close and similar personalitys and how he interacts with her just makes me burst. I completely get your fear with the damage and I'm hoping this HSG will either confirm my fears with that or that everything is okay. It's hard to imagine it won't have caused any problems isn't it?

@LT103 totally understand your delay. But I promise you'll kick yourself if an issue is discovered and you could have found out earlier so please bite the bullet, you'll have support here through it 💕

@stabal thanks. I swear I’d go mad if it wasn’t for here. We decided not to tell anyone we’re ttc so there’s literally no one to talk to about it all! 😢. I think my doctor is only doing phone consults so I’ll call next week to schedule one for my half day. Not really a phone call I want to take in work!!!

@LT103 I feel the same, I joined here when I started spotting in pregnancy and I'm not sure I would have got through the miscarriage without somewhere to rant to. Even though people now know we're TTC I feel like they're fed up when I mention anything. I know the whole idea is to remain anonymous here on MN but if you ever feel like you need a more person to person chat feel free to PM me, I'm happy to chat through messenger or WhatsApp etc. Same goes to all of you in here! 💕
