Sometime this week? Late Opk changed my predictions so 2 days by my count, 4 by calender, 6 days when it says to test. CONFUSED.COM 😂

RBCoxie · 05/10/2020 18:47

@MummyToPrince @Supermathsdoc @proteacat thank you so much ladies. I've learned loads this cycle so while I'm absolutely gutted, I know what I'll do differently next time (eg not test early - I'm not even having tests in the house this month 😂). I'm going to use pre-seed as well. Thank you all for being so lovely and dealing with my psychotic testing 😂💕

MummyToPrince · 05/10/2020 18:49

I hope everyone is feeling ok, my doobywotsit has nearly finished, got my opks being delivered tomorrow! Nothing better than being prepared early 😂

@RBCoxie hope your ok babe, it's absolute torture but I think we have all learnt a lot, I'm not buying any pregnancy tests Until AF is atleast 1 day late x

OP posts:
Supermathsdoc · 05/10/2020 18:54

@MummyToPrince I’ve done exactly the same! Ordered a new batch of OPKs and my thermometer broke (it was £3.50 so I wasn’t super shocked) so I’ve bought a fancy one that links to an app. If in doubt, throw money at it....

RBCoxie · 05/10/2020 18:59

@MummyToPrince thank you lovely 💕 it really is torture but as we said, we've learned so much so hopefully next time it'll be a bit easier 🤞🏼 how're you feeling now AF is nearly finished? What type of OPKs did you go for? I'm definitely going to use them next month too x

MummyToPrince · 05/10/2020 19:25

@Supermathsdoc if there's no tests in the house then I won't be tempted and become a psychopath 😂 I don't temp as my heart races and sits between 100bpm - 140bpm so it makes me have hot flushes

Definitely no testing early this time! (I say that now butt will prob fail - hope not)
No joke I'm nervous to be honest, but it will be ok, I got 30 off amazon for £5.99 the cheap one step ones I think, I definitely know I ovulate as I have bloods done every 3 months to check.. Are you using preseed this month? X

OP posts:
Supermathsdoc · 05/10/2020 19:55

@MummyToPrince not having tests in the house is a good plan! I think I just had such a bad early testing experience I know it can definitely feel worse (for me) than waiting, at the same time I totally get why people test and if you do feel the need, just be kind to yourself, whatever it shows or doesn’t show or maybe shows in the right light if you squint a bit....

Yeah, I’ve always used preseed but I’m using a donor so it’s all a bit ‘different’. Literally the most bonkers thing I’ve done in my life - I’ve had a fair few ‘WTF am I doing’ ?? moments I can tell you...!

MummyToPrince · 05/10/2020 20:00

@Supermathsdoc yeah I think having no tests will make it easier but I probably will cave but I'm hoping I don't if you get me 😂

I always get EWCM so I don't think it's worth me doing preseed, but I hope it works for others... That sounds really interesting to be honest, I wanted to donate my eggs once I've finished having kids but I'm not able to due to health conditions

OP posts:
BellaBella84 · 05/10/2020 22:41

@Supermathsdoc I can't imagine how hard that must be, just adding another level of complexity to...

Hi Egg have you met Sperm? Sperm's a really outgoing guy, loves swimming. Egg here is a bit shy, but she comes from a huge family.

Seriously though, you know where we are when you need to vent, or just lose you shit ❤️

Supermathsdoc · 06/10/2020 08:42

@BellaBella84 that’s so kind thank you!

I was so daunted by the process that I ended up telling a few friends that I was trying to find a donor - now I sort of feel like they are waiting for me to announce that I’m pregnant. Luckily my donor is the worlds nicest guy, hopefully the child will inherit his patience and not mine!

This will be cycle #4 for me, hoping it’s the one for all of us x

BettyM90 · 06/10/2020 12:45

Hope everyone is doing ok :) fingers crossed that this month is a lucky one for all of us.
I have been driving myself absolutely insane the past few days and was just looking for some sense or reassurance that I’m not going mad!
I’m due AF on saturday/Sunday which will be CD30/CD31 and I’ve been having cramps and odd sensations in my stomach and just below and I was sure that AF was going to start any minute. I also felt really wet (sorry TMI)! I also had some white lotion like CM and when I wiped this morning it was almost EWCM with a yellowish tinge?
I don’t know whether it will be to early to test yet as if I ovulated per the date of my app I will be 9DPO? Xx

MontyFALD · 06/10/2020 13:09

Anyone else find it so hard to get back into the mindset of trying when AF is happening? I just feel like giving up during AF each month! But I know I want to conceive so badly!

Again huge congrats to those who have BFP so far - hoping this month is super lucky for the rest of us!

@BettyM90 I would personally say it's too early but then some people do get faint BFP very early!! It depends how many tests you have to go through 😂🤞 but it's sounding positive!

Sending love and positivity to all ❤️

Supermathsdoc · 06/10/2020 13:23

@BettyM90 I would say possibly too early for a test that’s not super sensitive. But If you are using a FRER you have a better chance, but equally if you wait 2 days you’ll be in a much better position with any test....

@MontyFALD I find focussing on the next cycle is the best way to keep my spirits up,
but I can imagine that won’t last too much longer and I will need a new strategy !

BettyM90 · 06/10/2020 13:42

Thank you @MontyFALD and @Supermathsdoc I did a test a couple of days ago in the afternoon but that was a BFN. I’m trying to think whether I normally get these symptoms before AF, but who knows! Driving myself a bit crazy.
I think I Will have to buy an FRER and maybe take it on Friday? I’m so super impatient...! 😩 x

PinkFlamingo32 · 06/10/2020 13:49

Long time lurker but first time poster. At the end of the first cycle TTC #1 and have become obsessed (but good to know I’m not the only one!) Been tracking via Flo, ovulated around 20-21st, tested 10dpo and 12dpo and bfn both times. AF due today/yesterday and still no sign so fingers still crossed but appreciate it’s only the first cycle!

Good luck to everyone else this month !

BettyM90 · 06/10/2020 14:08

@PinkFlamingo32 what tests did you use? Have you had many other symptoms? X

PinkFlamingo32 · 06/10/2020 14:31

Both Clear Blue Ultra Early tests, going to leave it another day or so before testing again (as tempting as it is) with a digital test. I had cramping on both 20th (ovulation?) and 11dpo which I thought could be implantation but no spotting or any other symptoms. The test the next day was possibly too early to detect anything?

robodo · 06/10/2020 14:45

I'm definitely going to try and relax this month, I know when I will ovulate as beeb using opks since May so in not going to use them this month to be less stressed and go with the flow and hopefully it ill work, I have no tests in the house either so will try not to cave Hmm

Clove76 · 06/10/2020 17:09

@BettyM90 I’ve also had the yellowish EWCM. Found myself googling what it meant hoping it was a pregnancy sign! I think probably it is a bit early but with a FRER it could show up within a few days(?)

I’m 14dpo but haven’t tested yet - AF due Sat/Sun. I haven’t got any symptoms at all. I was a bit off my coffee the last few days though.

I was wondering if anyone else checks their cervix position? I’ve been doing this over the months I’ve been trying and it’s always very low just before my period. It’s still quite high today, which has got my hopes up a little bit.. I’m probably just going mad though looking for signs!

bigblueboots · 06/10/2020 17:56

Hi lovely ladies, I've been quiet on this thread for a while but reading daily to keep up with your ups and downs. So sorry @RBCoxie, I was rooting for you especially this month.

Hi @Supermathsdoc, nice to see someone else who is using a donor, I don't know many people! DW and I have a known donor too - can't help wondering which bits of him might be inherited. Maybe patience? Haha. He looks quite different to both of us... I guess you never quite know how genes will mix anyway!

So, we got our BFP last night and still reeling from the shock and amazement! It was 11dpo and showed a decent line on FRER. This is our first and before I came on mumsnet I'd never heard of a chemical before and don't really know anything about pregnancies and losses. DW has irregular cycles, so there's no obvious day to known when she's missed her period. It's CD34 today, and 12dpo - would 15dpo be the time that you'd count it as definitely missed? I don't want to worry more than necessary but also realising that nothing is safe yet. Any advice on walking the line between joy and realism?! I don't even know how common chemicals are, or when they stop being a chemical and start being miscarriage.

Sorry for offloadeding, you're just all so lovely!

BettyM90 · 06/10/2020 18:27

@PinkFlamingo32 I’m not an expert on the sensitivities if each HPT but most people seem to agree that the FRER will pick it up slightly earlier? I had quite bad pain in my side around that time too, but I put it down to ovulation as well. Ive never been particularly in tune with my body so I’ve never noticed anything like that before!
@robodo relaxing and not stressing this month sounds like a good plan - OPKs are really stressful!
@Clove76 it puts me at ease to know that you have experienced similar. Have you had many other symptoms? I’ve had achey legs and arms and feeling a bit nauseous but trying not to overthink it. When are you thinking of testing?
I also check my cervix and it still seems quite high but kind of open. But I’m not sure what it would feel like when it’s closed lol
@bigblueboots congratulations on your BFP positive! How exciting :) Flowers
Xx

Supermathsdoc · 06/10/2020 18:38

@bigblueboots I don’t know anyone else using a donor either!

Massive Congratulations on your BFP, I hope it’s a smooth ride for you from this point on.

I think at 15DPO you are likely to get a result on most HPT’s. I don’t have any advice on walking the line, but I feel like if it happens I want to be able to enjoy my pregnancy and believe that everything will be ok, but somehow keep in mind that it’s a huge miracle and so use that to stay pragmatic .... easier said than done though! X

RBCoxie · 06/10/2020 18:59

@bigblueboots aw thank you lovely - that's really sweet of you to say! Fingers crossed next month is the month for us who got BFNs last month 🤞🏼💕 HUGE congratulations on your BFP - that is really amazing news! I think it's natural to worry, but if you're getting strong BFPs then this is definitely a good sign!

RBCoxie · 06/10/2020 19:06

@MontyFALD just seen your message about staying positive - completely get it! I really didn't feel great yesterday, but today I just focused on trying things this month that I didn't last month and that made me feel a little better. Totally appreciate though that I'm very early on in this whole TTC so it may not be the same for those who have been going on for longer. We're going to go for SMEP this month and see what happens! Hope you're feeling okay 💕
