Hi guys ! Well I did a test yesterday and bfn so I must be out . Guess it’s my age ! I am now on cd36 and usually have 27 day cycle . Typical the first month I do opk and get a smiley on cd11 I have a weird cycle !
I don’t think there is much point doing them personally as it obv was false !

So weird no period ! Hey hi and good luck to all ...

Emmie12345 · 02/09/2020 17:23

@Dollybird89 we are in the same boat ! Grrrrr

@WantABunInTheOven helloooo ! 45 is so much younger than 47 ! Good luck lovely x

Ttc2020no2 · 02/09/2020 18:14

@SarahMumof1DS its called ovusense lol sorry if I wrote it wrongly, autocorrect lol. Honestly its brilliant. You put the mouse looking device in you at night before sleep and it records your temps onto an app on your phone. It is very accurate and reliable but it costs £8 per month for one year. I did love mine. Oh thank you for telling me about the diet, I'm going to look now. Its so sad we can't just eat whatever we want and look like a model lol. I have family in Braintree and Witham xxx

Ttc2020no2 · 02/09/2020 18:16

@Emmie12345 are you having any symptoms at all? It is horrible when you are late yet bfn, I had this too. I'm 42, feeling very crampy, due af Sunday x

Emmie12345 · 02/09/2020 19:35

@Ttc2020no2 keep thinking am having period cramps but nothing comes

Also keep feeling nausea but think am imagining it !

Emmie12345 · 02/09/2020 19:37

@Ttc2020no2 sooooo annoying ! Good luck hon xx

LT103 · 02/09/2020 19:51

@Emmie12345 I’ve also had period cramps on and off for last few days. So far nothing, due on Friday I think...keeping my fingers crossed

Emmie12345 · 02/09/2020 20:35

@LT103 oooh fingers crossed for you!

I basically last did bd on cd 16 then didn’t again till cd26 as we were apart for just over a week

Am now cd36 so surely would be bfp if there was anything ?

My period has never been so late !

LT103 · 02/09/2020 20:56

@Emmie12345 do you know when you ovulated? Def a good sign that af is late! 🤞🤞

Emmie12345 · 02/09/2020 21:15

@LT103 annoyingly it was the first month I did clearblue smiley opk and got solid smiley cd11 but then what I thought was fertile cm on cd14/15

So I dunno ! But got a bfn on a supermarket cheapy yesterday so can’t see I am . Must be my age !

SarahMumof1DS · 02/09/2020 21:53

@Ttc2020no2 haha I was googling opulence and not getting anything to do with fertility 😆. The ovusense sounds really good and reliable, which is what you want for Ttc. I'm not a fan of wearing tampons only when I have to so I don't know how I'd get on with something like that. Excellent piece of tech tho!
Argh I know I wish crap food was actually good for you, I'd have the best diet and the perfect body haha.
Oh ok, really close to where I live. I live near Rayleigh. xxx

Can I join this thread @samantha06?

I’m a long time lurker of mumsnet and just plucking up the courage to join and actually interact with people going through similar! Currently on cycle 9 of TTC number 1. I’m 29 and we’ve unfortunately had 2 chemicals in the time we’ve been trying.
Who knew it was so bloody hard to conceive 🤣🤣
Anyway, hello peeps!

Bizawit · 02/09/2020 22:59

@Emmie12345 that’s so odd- surely if you ovulated on cd 11/12 you would have AF by now if you weren’t preg?

Supermathsdoc · 03/09/2020 06:44

@Theawkwardblonde Hi and welcome, sorry to hear about your chemicals, I also had one this month but AF has now finally arrived (5 days late) so I can focus on the next cycle.

I hope September turns out to be our month!

Theawkwardblonde · 03/09/2020 07:28

Thanks @Supermathsdoc-sorry to hear about your chemicals too, they’re a mean twist is the TTC struggle.

I’m now in that bitter twisty stage as everyone around me is pregnant (that sounds awful doesn’t it ) I kept quiet to everyone that we were trying as all of our friends seemed to announce they were TTC around the time were started. We are the only ones not pregnant which is great 🤣 and my poor husband gets “advice” from his friend on what to do to conceive which isn’t helping in any sense.
I’ve tried OPKs, temping, lost 3 stone in weight, quit alcohol, hammered my fitness and now exercise 6 times a week at least, lay on back after sex etc 🤣 all the tips I see on here we’ve tried! At least there are others in the same boat!

Emmie12345 · 03/09/2020 07:37

@Bizawit I know ! Maybe I didn’t ovulate ??

Also @bizawit I am 47 ! So may well be my age !! Although this would be the first symptom of anything peri menopause ! Hmmmmm

@Theawkwardblonde helllooooo and welcome and well done for plucking up courage ! So nice to have people who understand this crazy journey ))) x

Supermathsdoc · 03/09/2020 07:44

@Theawkwardblonde yeah I think I was very unprepared for every aspect of it. From the practicalities, to the emotions, to the potential issues. I did tell some friends but that was at the stage when we were looking for a donor, so I think they assume either that we are still looking or that covid has impacted us (which it did).

I think people have good intentions but unless they also struggled, they dont realise how unhelpful/hurtful their comments might be.

I did read that if your under 35 and it’s been a year or over 35 and it’s been 6 months you should seek a referral for baseline medical investigation, so I have that in my mind too.

Emmie12345 · 03/09/2020 07:49

Good luck @Supermathsdoc

@Theawkwardblonde have you tried keto diet ?

Theawkwardblonde · 03/09/2020 08:09

@Emmie12345 hello! Yes I'm currently doing Keto and and have been since August 2019.I've really got back into my fitness thinking it would help. Used to be super fit, weight training etc and always was Keto, but then dropped my regime when life got in the way 😂
Started again in August 2019 to help with TTC 😊

Theawkwardblonde · 03/09/2020 08:12

@Supermathsdoc its a bugger the mental strain of it. I've struggled with MH in the past, predominantly down to my job, but been really good these last two years. However I think working through covid (in emergency services) and the strain of TTC has really knocked me tbh. I just live life in a permanent nihilist sarcastic bubble to cope 😂

Emmie12345 · 03/09/2020 09:02

@Theawkwardblonde don’t overdo the exercise though , nourishing things like Yoga, Pilates , walking )

Theawkwardblonde · 03/09/2020 10:28

@Emmie12345 does over exercise affect conception? I checked with my gp and they just shrugged and said it shouldn't affect me.
Ive wondered if it would affect TTC-I run, cross train and weight train with a few HIIT sessions thrown in too. Part of me thinks exercise is responsible for my chemicals but I always ease off around the 2ww (drop to 3 workouts) just in case. I definitely wasn't doing much when I had my chemicals as stopped when I got the BFPs.

Theawkwardblonde · 03/09/2020 10:30

@Emmie12345 hope that didn't sound rude-just read it back and it didn't read how I meant it to sound 😂😂 I do like yoga tbf, and have started incorporating 30 mins after a session.

Emmie12345 · 03/09/2020 11:48

@Theawkwardblonde nooo not rude ! Hmmmm I think if you over exercise (not saying you are though !) it can raise cortisol. Things like Hiit etc
I say this as an older person and am v interested in effect of keto and exercise on hormones . IMO best thing to stabilise hormones is keto diet with lots of greens and regular lower intensity cardio and 3 resistance (light weights / yoga / Pilates )

Also have you tried maca ? Great for regulating cycle if need to xxx

Knope24 · 03/09/2020 11:53

The longer we ttc the more I can't get my head around how people get pregnant by accident! I spent my entire younger adult life terrified of having a slip up because it seemed like one burst condom and that was it but now I view it as something really precise and difficult! All the planning, temping, weeing on various sticks, lubing, researching, hoping...and nothing, yet my friend fell pregnant after forgetting to take her birth control for a couple of days. I haven't been trying long enough to complain but it's just crazy what a lottery it all is!
