@samantha06 thanks so much! Sending lots of positive energy to everyone this cycle.

RLou3 · 27/08/2020 15:07

Hi all, can I please join this bus? We will be ttc #1 for the first time this month.. I'm due to ovulate around the 5th September. I've been using the clear blue ovulation sticks for the past couple of months to track and confirm that I'm ovulating. Just been to Superdrug and bought first response pregnancy test! I'm ready and raring to go!! And extremely nervous!!! Xxx

WantABunInTheOven · 27/08/2020 15:49

@samantha06 I caught the bus! Ok to hop on?
I have an adopted son who will soon be 4, from before I met DP. He is 46 and I’m 45! Ttc at our age is fairly obviously difficult although thoroughly enjoying the process (DTD)!
I had my first early MC at the end of January and am now bleeding from a chemical pregnancy now.
I’ve been feeling really low this time round as my wee boy was saying how lonely he was a few weeks ago during lockdown and it was heart wrenching because we should have been due a sibling for him. To put you in the picture we had been mostly shielding as my wee boy has chronic lung disease and asthma as well as other things due to birth mums lifestyle and being born so prem (28wks).
This morning I just got in the car and drove and drove, with eyes welling up! Better now though and still optimistic for this cycle. X

WantABunInTheOven · 27/08/2020 15:52

@RLou3 I’m due to ovulate on the 5th too according to the Flo app I’m using. X

Supermathsdoc · 27/08/2020 16:54

@WantABunInTheOven wow you’re incredibly strong. Glad to hear you’re feeling optimistic - you have totally inspired me to have the same outlook! Thank you

Ttc2020no2 · 27/08/2020 17:42

Hey there. I'd love to join this thread! Praying this is the month!!

RLou3 · 27/08/2020 17:43

@WantABunInTheOven What a dear little boy you sound to have ! As I said, I’ve not even started trying yet - and I already feel drained - it’s all I’m thinking about!! So I’ll be totally mental by the time I DTD around ovulation 😂😩

Have you tried the ovulation sticks?? It’s just I’ve read so much against the apps (and trust me, I’ve been researching). for a lot of women, the apps have been estimating ovulation almost a week out... but i guess different for everyone xx

LT103 · 27/08/2020 17:44

@WantABunInTheOven sorry to hear about your miscarriage and your chemical. Fingers crossed for you

samantha06 · 27/08/2020 18:07

@wantabunintheoven
Im sorry to hear your feeling low atm, we are in the same boat atm, im still bleeding from my chemical started monday and i hope it doesnt last for too long. I thought it had stopped today but it hadnt! According to my app im fertile from the 4th too!
Your amazing having adopted a child, i wish you all the best in this ttc process. I had a friend who fell with her two babies at 41 and 42 years old🥰if that gives you some hope!💕

But i see lots of people using them on these threads💕

WantABunInTheOven · 27/08/2020 18:24

@RLou3 thank you.
I have used the ovulation sticks in the past but found the Flo app to be more accurate than myself re. when to use them. 🤣

Thanks girls, I decided to adopt as I reached 40 and Mr Right hadn’t came into my life. Then lo and behold when the wee fella came along so did DP. You couldn’t have made it up!!🤣

LT103 · 27/08/2020 18:28

@samantha06 I use the Femometer opk sticks. A box of 50 is about £10. I usually use around 15 in a cycle (more this cycle since I chose to ovulate so late) I find them super easy to use cos you just take a pic of them in the app and it gives you a reading. I can’t justify paying for anything more expensive when it’s not essential!

Yorkshiretea3876 · 27/08/2020 18:29

Hopefully I can join in too! We're ttc for the first time, ovulating tomorrow so it's all systems go at the moment. I've been using the Flo app to track things for a while now, but actively trying this month for the first time Smile

I've been a lurker on these threads for so long haha

JemInher40s · 27/08/2020 18:33

Hi all, I'm new to this site. I've read posts on several threads and so I hope you don't mind me joining this one.
I'm 41 and ttc my first. Been trying for 6 months. I also have fibroids but have been told they're not on my womb lining. Nevertheless, I'm also waiting for a fertility referral via NHS. I may have to go private as I think the wait for this service will be too long.

Supermathsdoc · 27/08/2020 18:58

I’m also using the OPK sticks. I found them quite cheaply on the internet (20 for £3) but I had to experiment a bit with the sensitivity and timing of testing.

They seem to agree with the Flo app. The thing I find hardest is the temperature, it’s very difficult to be consistent with timings and I’m also not a great sleeper.....

I’m determined to be more systematic this month!

SarahMumof1DS · 27/08/2020 19:18

Hi, I’m new to forums but would like to talk to other women in the similar boat as me. I’m sorry to read about your chemical. I am on 4th cycle of TTC and I’m 13 DPO and AF due Saturday but started getting brown and pink spotting today and fear I’m out for this month. The previous 3 months I’ve had spotting starting about 4 days before AF due and then AF arrives on time. I’ve never really experienced spotting until period due day but since TTC it’s happened every month. I‘ve not gotten a positive test each month but so many symptoms which I never get on a normal cycle only since TTC. I don’t know if you can get a chemical without a positive test, but it feels like each month something is trying to happen but maybe won’t stick. Has anyone else experienced this?

Sarah x

LT103 · 27/08/2020 19:25

@SarahMumof1DS are you taking any pregnancy supplements or anything that might alter your cycle? I’ve stopped mine this month just to be on the safe side. My cycle length didn’t change but spotting more and less ewcm and read it could be that so thought I’d try just going back to basic folic acid to see

SarahMumof1DS · 27/08/2020 19:29

Sorry also if my forum etiquette is poor, I’ve not posted anything before and I don’t want to interrupt other people’s discussions or be impolite in any way. 😊

stepmumSW5 · 27/08/2020 19:31

@SarahMumof1DS hi Sarah. When I was taking supplements I had pregnancy symptoms all the time. So f disheartening!

SarahMumof1DS · 27/08/2020 19:32

Hi LT103, I’m not on anything other than folic acid. It just seems so weird and coincidental that it’s started on the months of TTC. My Doctor said it could be that my cycles are just changing because I’m 36 and getting older but just seems weird?

SarahMumof1DS · 27/08/2020 19:42

Do you mean supplements like folic acid?

LaceyMermaid · 27/08/2020 19:46

Hi all, jumping on of that’s ok! Sorry to hear about lots of you going through losses, fingers crossed this is your month! I’m 38 TTC #4 and my youngest is nearly 12! We thought we’d see if we could just have one more before it’s too late!

stepmumSW5 · 27/08/2020 19:48

@SarahMumof1DS a multisupplement pill - seven seas. It even made me miss a period. Imagine me testing abs getting bfns with no period when I've always been regular
