Hi all, hoping I can join in? I’m 36 and trying to conceive #2. I’m CD 13; did a digital ovulation test today and no cigar. This is cycle #1 for me. Still breastfeeding my DD who’s 14 months , but my periods started a while back, so hoping this won’t be a problem..

Bizawit · 30/08/2020 20:42

@Supermathsdoc sounds promising! When did you last test?

Hey there. I'm also due on 6/7 Sept. Its such a strange time the 2ww. I had a son at 34 but that was 7 years ago now. Trying for my 2nd. I think you'll be fine hun, i had no issues at 34. I know it's still worrying. I'm sympton spotting like mad at the moment. Are you temping at all? I am. I was 97.86 f which is alittle up from yesterday xxx[/quote]
I'm not really sure how to do the temping thing? 🙈
Don't really know where to start with it.
I've got as far as taking some folic acid in the last few weeks and DP and I have banded about some possible names but the actual nitty gritty of TTC hasn't actually come up 🤣

Ttc2020no2 · 30/08/2020 21:38

@LT103 haha yes i can't blame just the 2ww on my bloatedness lol. Usually i get sore boobs if I'm pg and very constipated. Also temps should stay elevated. Those are my main signs. Also af being late lol. Are you having any of those symptons yet?

Ttc2020no2 · 30/08/2020 21:42

@ladymary86 basically take your temp before you leave your bed first thing in the morning. Record your temp everyday. After ovulation it should raise by .05 and then stay up. If it dips a fair bit it most likely means af is on its way. If it stays up you could be pg. Its fairly reliable hun x

Ttc2020no2 · 30/08/2020 21:45

@Supermathsdoc its hard to say hun, just test again is the only way to know. Same happened to me. I had a faint line but over time they were negative. I was so gutted. Then my pg symptons went. I was also late but then had a heavy af. X

Thanks 😊 I may need to invest in a thermometer that has that level of accuracy. I think the one I have only goes to 1 decimal place 🤔

Supermathsdoc · 30/08/2020 22:19

@Bizawit Wednesday the 26th
I was sure I was out but AF was supposed to be Friday. I know a chemical can delay the next cycle so all in all it’s messing with my head a bit. I went to boots and bought a FRER today and am trying to hold off using it...

Supermathsdoc · 30/08/2020 22:21

@Ttc2020no2

Yeah I think I will be the same really. The sensible part of me knows it’s better to just wait. They do say you’re more fertile after a chemical....?

MamaPheebz · 30/08/2020 22:44

Hey! Newbie here!
I had a missed miscarriage 4 weeks ago (10 weeks pregnant but baby only made it to 6 weeks). I think trying again is the only thing that will help me move on.
I’m just waiting for my first period before jumping back on the baby making train. Just hoping it comes on time and doesn’t take longer because of the miscarriage.

Hopefully September will be our lucky month for a healthy pregnancy!

SarahMumof1DS · 31/08/2020 03:38

AF arrived Saturday so I'm officially joining the September Bus. It'll be my 5th cycle TTC and starting to get a little disheartened. Feels like no matter how well you time everything and your chances are high, doesn't mean you'll be successful. Am I the only one who thought it would happen quicker than this?

SarahMumof1DS · 31/08/2020 03:42

@MamaPheebz I'm very sorry to read about your MMC. I hope you can try again straight away and get your period. Baby dust for you. Smilex

Supermathsdoc · 31/08/2020 07:17

@MamaPheebz sorry to hear about your miscarriage, here’s hoping AF arrives on time for you.

I took a FRER this morning as AF still hasn’t shown, I have zero symptoms am 13DPO. Got a BFN, very clear. So at least it has drawn a line under things for this month. I think most likely the chemical picked up by the IC earlier has delayed my cycle.

It’s messed up my September predictions though so will need to be tracking closely. Good luck again to everyone trying in September x

Ttc2020no2 · 31/08/2020 08:31

@Supermathsdoc yes definitely but it can take afew cycles, it is very different for everyone just best to maintain a gealrhy diet and keep taking your vits. I thought i would find it easy but its definitely taking its toll. Just keep positive 🙂

Supermathsdoc · 31/08/2020 08:46

@Ttc2020no2 Thanks so much! Messages like yours are so good to keep us stay positive while staying grounded. I think this balance is the key to making it through.

My weight has crept up very slowly over the last 3 years by about 6kg. This is what I need to lose to have a BMI of 26. I know everyone is different, but for me it’s helped having this parallel goal and I’ve been managing to lose 2kg per cycle. Super slow I know, but it gives me something to focus on and I feel I have a little more control than with TTC!

Fingers crossed, and hoping everyone stays positive and healthy for September x

Knope24 · 31/08/2020 09:01

Hello, currently ttc first baby cycle 3. Like others on the thread unfortunately had a chemical pregnancy last month so joining in to hopefully feel a bit more positive. I think I was a bit naive and got a bit carried away with thinking I was pregnant and basically had my whole new life planned out, so going to be a bit more cautious next time! Like others have said I'm not really sure what this will mean for my cycle as AF was five days late. I've only been doing opks so far but sounds like temping is the way to go. Wishing you all the best of luck this month

Ttc2020no2 · 31/08/2020 11:06

@Supermathsdoc you are doing so well. Weight loss every montg is still a loss so keep going hunny! X

Orlandoflorida1 · 31/08/2020 11:31

I’m cycle day 11 now, I’ve only been doing temp for about 5 days and it’s been consistently 36.5...what might it rise to after ovulation?

Supermathsdoc · 31/08/2020 11:47

@Knope24 I did literally exactly the same thing! I had essentially planned out my mat leave! I think it’s important we’re not too hard on ourselves though. It’s hitting that balance between, this really could take a while and also being positive that there’s every chance this could be the month. Treading that line I’ve found takes a lot out of me.

@Ttc2020no2 Thanks so much for the encouraging words! I’m hoping to keep it up so I stay in my ‘ideal weight my BMI throughout the journey. Ideally to also stay healthy and active throughout the pregnancy.

@Orlandoflorida1 everyone is different but I am happy to tell you what I’ve been finding which is: before ovulation I’m in the range 36.1 - 36.5 (I have seen a dip to its lowest one day before) and then After it’s been 36.4 - 36.9 Dropping again before my period.

If I don’t sleep well I do find I get something that doesn’t fit the pattern and sometimes I get the app to ignore these ones. I’m sure others who have been doing it for longer will know more, but I hope that helps x

Orlandoflorida1 · 31/08/2020 12:26

Thanks @Supermathsdoc guess I’ll wait and see! Sometimes I’m up in the night to my DD so wonder if this could change it. What did you find it went to after you ovulated?

I'm so sorry to hear about your miscarriage. I had a MMC 6 years ago (12 weeks but baby only made it to 9), it happened at the end of June and I had to have an ERPC. AF returned on the 1st of August. I got pg that first cycle and I now have my wonderful 5yo DS. It can absolutely happen that quickly and I felt exactly the same. I just wanted to be pregnant again the whole time in between.
Emmie12345 · 31/08/2020 19:20

Hi all -I’m ttc at an older age ... had a positive opk at cd11 and now I am 10 days late.. did a ic about 4 days ago and bfn but still no period and feel bit of nausea so am going to test in the morning again i think

Good luck all xx

Orlandoflorida1 · 31/08/2020 19:25

Good luck @Emmie12345

Knope24 · 31/08/2020 19:44

@Supermathsdoc totally agree, I think it's important to still be able to get excited if it happens again... I'll maybe just tone down on my planning as I was the same, mat leave planned in my head, when I was going to tell people etc! Ttc is all such a roller coaster of emotions.
