@SarahMumof1DS I have frer and cheapies. I'll update tomorrow as going to try another cheapie first x

BellaBella84 · 09/09/2020 06:51

@Mich2020 How many days passed your missed period are you?

Theawkwardblonde · 09/09/2020 07:04

@SarahMumof1DS thanks, it is reassuring to know you're not alone. My poor friend has been on ages trying to conceive, and has had a few miscarriages too so I am over the moon for her, just couldn't hide my face when she told me.

I'm contacting GP today to discuss fertility tests etc. Looked at my calendar and it's well over a we've been trying, not 8/9 months as I originally thought 🙄

Mich2020 · 09/09/2020 07:13

@BellaBella84 I'm due in 3-4 days x

BellaBella84 · 09/09/2020 07:44

@Mich2020 Ok. I know the TWW is hell really I do. But I honestly feel that trying to shorten it just doesn't work and is likely to drive you bat sh*t crazy. Yes the sensitive tests pick up seriously low levels of hCG, but they also come with the disclaimer that clearest most accurate results are at or after the first day of your missed period. Before you know it you're peeing on a stick every day for 6+ days, and you've filled your phone memory with photos of said sticks to compare with, and your symptom spotting (even though you know deep down that our mothers wouldn't have even known they were pregnant until they were sick at around 5-6 weeks). This way is where madness lies. This way is also where chemical pregnancies lie. I personally prefer not to know about them, but I know lots of other people need to know. Sorry this went on a bit, and I certainly don't mean to get you down, but just hang on in there for a few more days and you'll be a lot more certain about your result.

Is anyone here temping? Just wondering if my chart looks good or not? Temp has risen since ovulation but today had a slight dip...

I get what you mean @BellaBella84.
It's easy to get bogged down with the what ifs and symptoms etc. It's such a thin line when you want to know but don't want to know Confused

Yes it's very difficult to hide the reaction on your face. It doesn't mean you're not happy for others you just want it to be you too. Smile

Yes get yourself checked out so you can find out if you need a little help to get things moving. You never know you might just need a simple fix that will get you that BFP. I assume you're taking supplements already? My pharmacist said that he doctors will recommend I take them when I go to see them anyway. I've got till October to get BFP then I'm going to the doctors too. I've just started taking Pregnacare this cycle. x

BellaBella84 · 09/09/2020 10:50

@SarahMumof1DS Thanks, I hate to think that I come off as pessimistic. Almost the opposite really! Every month I force my logical self to remember that the stats are against me and there's no point to overthinking it. And then about 3 days before I totally lose my cool! I am almost overwhelmed by the hope and excitement and the what ifs and maybes. The emotional toil this takes is exhausting!

Emmie12345 · 09/09/2020 10:54

I will keep you all updated later with my results. Good luck everyone on this long rocky road xx

Theawkwardblonde · 09/09/2020 11:17

@SarahMumof1DS yes I've started taking supplements a few months ago. Been on a health kick this last year and dropped 3 stone too, although could afford to lose some more.
Been taking baby aspirin as per recommendation of a friend. I'll honestly try anything 🤣🤣 it's hard keeping track of what to do and what not to do!
I think a check at the doctors will reassure me or at least give snd indication if anything is up.
Husband is mortified so the prospect of getting his sperm checked 🤣🤣

SarahMumof1DS · 09/09/2020 14:00

@Orlandoflorida1

Is anyone here temping? Just wondering if my chart looks good or not? Temp has risen since ovulation but today had a slight dip...
Hi @Orlandoflorida1, your chart looks ok. You just need to monitor if your temp goes below your cover line. If you get a few consecutive drops in temp it may indicate pending AF but if it bounces up again and you're staying within an upper range then it's a good sign. I hope this helps x
SarahMumof1DS · 09/09/2020 14:04

@BellaBella84 yep we've all been there! It's a emotional rollercoaster and I think we need to cut ourselves some slack when we're having one of those days overthinking etc. It's so emotionally exhausting, I'm with you on that!

Orlandoflorida1 · 09/09/2020 14:17

@SarahMumof1DS I’ve just read you can get a 1 day dip for implantation...maybe it’s that who knows

Hi @Emmie12345, ive wanted to ask about the whole using OPKs when testing for pregnancy for a while now. Because I've had trouble pinpointing my ovulation this month and I went over my instructions for my OPK tests and it says that a faint line doesn't mean positive ov result as women always have a certain amount of LH in their system anyway and only a line as dark as the control line or darker classes as positive. So then I wondered, what does an OPK tell you when it comes to pregnancy testing? Does LH increase again when you're pregnant or something?Smile
Emmie12345 · 09/09/2020 14:32

@SarahMumof1DS I do not know lol

I just poas when I saw it lol

Mine is often white so I know I don’t always have a line but dunno!

Gonna get a clearblue hcg test tomorrow if still no period !

SarahMumof1DS · 09/09/2020 14:44
@SarahMumof1DS I’ve just read you can get a 1 day dip for implantation...maybe it’s that who knows
I've had a dip around what would have been implantation time but I've also read that it's not been proven to mean anything in studies they've done. So I try not to read onto it too much. They say with bbt charting, a lot of the info is helpful or makes more sense in retrospect. The only thing that might give you a hint is if it keeps dropping down or stays up these are the best indicators when you're getting closer to AF due date. Even then you won't know if it means anything until AF does or doesn't arrive. Another great part of the TTC process lol 🙃

Haha! Yeah see what the Clearblue says then. Let us know!

SarahMumof1DS · 09/09/2020 15:03

@Theawkwardblonde, well done you! I'm trying to keep to this new diet but keep slipping back to bad habits. Oh aspirin, I thought that wasn't good for your when pregnant/ttc? Yeah there's so much advice and do's and don'ts you don't know which way to turn.
Oh yeah I have thought about whether to mention to my husband about the sperm tests or just cross that bridge when we get to it possibly in October. I bet he'll he mortified too if they ask him to do a sample. But yeah it surely can only be a good thing getting checked. Just if they tell you everything is ok, that's what I'll be more worried about. Then what?! 🙃

SarahMumof1DS · 09/09/2020 15:19

@Orlandoflorida1 also, forgot to mention that I had the 'implantation dip' and I still had AF so that's why I don't read into it. The studies show that a higher percentage of women who had a temp dip around implantation went on to get pregnant, but then another percentage of women who weren't pregnant also got the dip too so they couldn't categorically say if you get the dip then you're pregnant. If that makes sense?
God I've been doing a lot of reading up lol. I never thought I could learn so much about this whole process and how my body works.

AKC88 · 09/09/2020 15:46

@SarahMumof1DS I suspect the crucial days CD 14 and 15! Yes I've continued the OPK's , a few faint lines but inconsistent. I'm not doing BBT because my 2YO is a terrible sleeper and I'm up numerous times most nights and a different time every morning so I don't think it would be accurate. I try to monitor CM but it's quite difficult when DTD this often (sorry TMI Blush ).

Ooh hopefully you'll get your positive later on!!

I still feel sick, have since Sunday so I think I just have a bit of a bug/tummy upset.

Hope the next 9 days go fast until af is due!!

Orlandoflorida1 · 09/09/2020 15:50

Thanks @SarahMumof1DS I’m trying not to read into anything it’s only first month of trying for #2

SarahMumof1DS · 09/09/2020 16:45

@AKC88 yeah that's annoying but you've been DTD so that's good.
I've been getting the same strength lines today so it's confusing. Will keep testing to see if they fade out. I know what you mean we've been DTD too so hard to tell but I think I've been getting EWCM as well. Will keep DTD until my OPKs fade.

My son has been waking up a few times in the night lately too so I've not been sure it's it's affecting my temps, but I would advise to keep temping because then at least you have some data to look at and see if you can see a pattern. I've also been tempted to do my temps in the afternoon to see if the chart patterns look similar as you can compare them. It's extra work but might help to paint a picture.

It's hard to say if your symptoms are connected isn't it or just unwell. I guess you'll find out in 9 days. I hope you feel better soon though. My app says I've got 17 days till my period due!! Feels like we're forever waiting!!
