Hi everyone,

Setting up the new thread for us - we have come a long way since January and sadly a few of us are still on the "journey". Let's hope we arent here for much longer. Wishing us all baby dust (although its been so long I am not sure dust will do it for me - maybe will have to up the particle size to "baby sand" )

Ttc ladies:
@Fizzl

@ELM7
@Ljm0101
@Abi0795
@Babyghirl

And our recent bfps who i know like to check in :)

@Babyghirl wishing you lots and lots luck for September 🤞 I have some annual leave booked for September (first time since January!) so I'm hoping some relaxation may help me 🤣 xxx

SunnySideUp2020 · 22/08/2020 14:15

Hello ladies

@Fizzl how did your appointment go?
Re testing your DH, i kinda agree with him.
We also conceived first cycle yet when we did the test we found some problems with his sperm that was probably delaying us big time!

Babyghirl · 22/08/2020 14:20

@chali7

Fingers crossed September is your lucky month to us girls need some luck after what we have been through. But we will get r rainbow babies and it will be amazing planty of baby dust going everyones way heres to 2021 babies 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗 xxx

chali7 · 22/08/2020 14:25

@Babyghirl it will certainly be worth it. Heres to 2021 babies 😍

Nuggetlover27 · 22/08/2020 14:51

@Fizzl how did your appointment go? Hope you got some answers x

Leok83 · 22/08/2020 16:17

@Fizzl I hope your appointment went well! I agree with your DH too, I'd want everything tested. The more information the better in my opinion as then at least if it's all ok then you can proceed stress free and if not tackle it head on now!

Fizzl · 22/08/2020 20:36

Well it kind of went ok. Feeling a bit conflicted about it all! The doctor I spoke with basically said she thinks we just need to give it more time. She said because of our ages and the fact we're fit and healthy time is massively on our side and she would be reluctant to suggest doing anything yet as she thinks we're wasting our money. So I did appreciate her honesty and the fact she's clearly not trying to fleece us! She did say if we really wanted we could start running tests because were paying so it's our choice, so of course we've said we want to. I'm sure she thinks we're fools but we need to for our peace of mind and the fact I'm totally convinced I have low progesterone.

I'm still not sure I managed to get her to fully understand my concerns about my lp. She said my symptoms suggest low progesterone but she thinks my cycle just needs to settle back down and she said I will find my lp will just lengthen back to 14 days. I tried to explain that my lp has never been great as the whole time I've been charting since last year I've never seen it longer than 11 days (and that's rare it's normally 9-10).

Anyway we decided we still wanted to get the ball rolling with tests so she agreed to see me next Friday (today was just a phone consultation because of covid) to make a start so hoping to have a better chat about it then. I've been told it's going to cost about £400 for all the blood tests but when I see her next week I'm going to see if we can just do tests specifically for progesterone and thyroid as I'm not overly worried about my egg reserve etc. I forgot to tell her I had some fertility tests done earlier this year which were apparently fine but they were done mid-cycle so wouldn't show any issues re progesterone. I'm sure when I tell her I've already had most of these tests she will think I'm even more of a fool but hopefully she will then see the logic in just doing the specific bloods rather than the full she-bang!

She's said at this stage she doesn't want to recommend doing any tests on my husband. He wants me to mention it again on Friday as he's still keen.

Anyway I now feel like we're wasting a huge amount of money. I said to my husband maybe we should wait but he rightly pointed out if we wait another 6 months and there are issues we'll regret wasting this time. Whereas if we suddenly fall pregnant after spending £££ we won't regret that, it will just be a bit of a financial hit that although it will be annoying (and will serve us right for being impatient 😂) it's not the end of the world.

Sorry that was a bit long winded.
Hope everyone else is doing ok. Good to hear from you @Leok83 and @SunnySideUp2020 hope you're both well! The weeks are flying by over here, hope they're going as quickly for you both.

Fizzl · 22/08/2020 20:39

But on a positive note I do feel some reassurance that she didn't seem overly concerned and she even said she thinks we will find that within 6months we will be pregnant again. I like her optimism. If the bloods all come back fine I suppose it will be a complete weight off our shoulders and we'll just need to be more patient.

Annny27 · 23/08/2020 07:57

Morning everybody :) we have a busy weekend seeing friends - have been to a few beer gardens and then out for a nice meal yesterday which has been lovely as first time I have been out with friends since covid. Still keeping our distance as I am still anxious haha. I am sure my friends thought I was overkill trying to stay 1-2m apart but I dont care :p

Cd6 for me so the joy of scheduled sex will start soon, can barely contain my excitement 🤪👀🙈

@fizzl that was kind of what our consultant said to us, just he waa confident that we would fall and not to waste money on too many tests so we just decided to give the progesterone a try and then in november w ehave nhs referral anyway. I would never pay for private treatment so ita no use to me now to know that my tubes are blocked or that my husbands sperm is bad and that we would need ivf. If that makes sense. It would be useful if they checked your thyroid and progesterone as you say as can do something now thats not too costly to fix it :D

@sunnysideup2020 I saw that your scan went well. So pleased for you lovely 💗 must have been bliss that hear that heartbeat xxx

@Nuggetlover27 has ovulation happened for you?

@Babyghirl sorry af arrived properly :( but yes I think a more relaxed cycle without temping will be good. I am soooo much less stressed without temping :D

@Leok83 whens your 12 week?

@chali7 sorry af arrived :(

I'm now 2dpo planning to test 1st September at 11dpo. I have 1 FRER leftover from last cycle and a few cheap early pregnancy test strips.

@babyghirl I feel the same. After the last MMC I got DH to agree that if we get pregnant again we won't tell anyone until the 20week anomaly scan. Last time we told 2 friends each and didn't tell any family. At every family gathering people keep asking when are we going to have a baby which is starting to get annoying. I'm running out of excuses to tell them aswell lol.

@fizzl our last pregnancy happened after 9months of trying and before that I was on the verge of booking a private fertility appointment to get us both tested. I think we would've been told the same as I'm 30 and DH is 27. Like you I'd rather do the test and start looking at all options available to us or even start saving for IVF if that's what it's going to take etc.

Babyghirl · 23/08/2020 16:07

@monday55

I hate when people say that I had someone say it to me before and I looked the blank in the face and told him if I could I would I have lost two, he did not knw what way to look I would never say that to anyone cause you never know if they r trying have lost or can't get pregnant. I have had my first app with a fertility clinic we where meant to receive r results in April but with everything going on we r still waiting. Xxx

Babyghirl · 23/08/2020 16:10

@Annny27

I'm on cd4 now so hopefully just another 8 or 9 days to that egg drops I won't knw when cause I'm just taking this easy this month no temping or anything just going to baby dance a lot and hopefully catch it lol xxx

Leok83 · 23/08/2020 20:56

@Fizzl I wish the time seemed to be flying but unfortunately it's been on a major go slow since the BFP! It seems you had a pretty positive consultation. It will be good to get progesterone checked properly to make sure it's not causing a LP issue. I'm sure it must take off a bit off pressure too just being proactive.

@Annny27 I'm 12 weeks on the 9th Sept, have my appointment the 8th, have never wished away a month so much!!

Fizzl · 23/08/2020 21:24

@Annny27 it's so nice to be getting back to some normality isn't it?! We've been spending a lot of time with family and friends again and it's been lovely. The first time we went to a pub/restaurant I was quite anxious too but since then I've felt loads better about it all (and relaxed a bit about it) and now actually enjoy being out and about again.

Cd7 for me so scheduled sex commences next week 😂 it's come round really quick. I'm exhausted just thinking about it. I'm really hoping I ovulate much earlier this month, I can't keep up otherwise 😂. I've totally laid off the hiit workouts now and just doing more gentle exercises clutching at straws hoping it helps!

The more I think about it the more I'm going to ask for just those specific tests and see what she says. I'm no expert and she might say that doing some tests without the others is a waste of time but who knows 🤷🏼‍♀️ I just want to get the ball rolling I think and if we do fall pregnant in the meantime, win win. She did say to me that she thinks I'll be pleasantly surprised that within 6 months I'll be pregnant again. She also recommended that we had sex twice a week. twice a week?! Surely that's not enough. I'm not telling my husband that part - we have an agreed schedule of every other day then every day when I get a + and that's what I'm sticking with 🤣 what do these experts know 😳🙄

@Monday55 I'm also 30. Rapidly approaching 31 with how quick this year has gone. I loved the idea of having my first baby when I was 30. I'm now hoping 31 is my year 🤞

@Leok83 ahh sorry time is going so slow for you! Hopefully time will start to go quicker once your out of your first trimester! Other people's pregnancies always seem to fly by don't they?!

Annny27 · 24/08/2020 09:53

Morning everyone :) cd7 for me

@fizzl wow twice a week 🤪 Noo way haha! Although when we conceived we had sex cd6, cd10, cd12 am, cd13 pm and ovulated on cd13. So not crazy amounts of sex that month.

Yes I am desperately hoping you have n earlier ovulation! Do torturous waiting for ov

P.s "the big O" used to mean orgasm, now ovulation is "the big O" as its much more exciting 🤣🤣

@Leok83 so exciting!!! Will you find out the gender? :D

@Babyghirl yep I think it will do you the world of good not temping :D I will be doing LH tests as need a rough idea of when to take my progesterone

Babyghirl · 24/08/2020 10:01

@fizzl

We r nearly the same CD cycle I'm cd5 today hopefully just anoth 7 to 8 days to my egg drops lol norm ovulate around CD 11/13 was temping but giving it a break this month try to take the stress out off it all xx

Babyghirl · 24/08/2020 10:05

@Annny27

I could never catch my peak on them lol we would have sex everyday, but going to break the news that I want to try every 2 days to c if it makes a difference lol as everyday not doing the job would you do it every day or every 2 days lol xx

Nuggetlover27 · 24/08/2020 12:26

Hey all!

@Fizzl your appointment sounded like it was very positive. I know it's frustrating when you don't have all the answers but think sometimes we have to trust the experts know what they're talking about. Although not sure about the twice a week advice haha! We DTD every other day from around a week before ov 😂

@Annny27 I'm CD24 today and think this is the day of ovulation! 🤞🏻 it's a sticky one! How long until the symptom spotting starts 😂

Babyghirl · 24/08/2020 16:03

Anybody on this thread take any sort off anti depression tablets while trying ttc really think I need something I have more down days than up days and don't think it's helping me with ttc. 3 years on to trying 2 losses my mood is really not good think I just need something to get me bck to how I use to be any advice would be really appreciated xxx

Babyghirl · 24/08/2020 16:27

Doc just phoned has put me on anti depression tablets also give me the results from the fertility clinic as she could get them up said everything with them is normal so going to get the oh to phone docs tomara for his seman test to c hw that looks put my mind at ease awee bit if I know they r normal to hopefully the tablets start putting me on the right path and I can start to enjoy life again. 💚💚💚💚

Leok83 · 24/08/2020 20:04

@Annny27 oh yes I definitely will find out the sex! I'm far too curious to wait! Hopefully the big 'O'happens for you soon and enjoy it if you can😄! My poor DH prob wishes we could go back to DTD every other day even though at the time it seemed so much..it's pretty much been off the cards for weeks now with all the nausea, stuffiness and tiredness and I feel sick when I smell anyone's breath including my own which is great wearing a mask😄

Annny27 · 25/08/2020 13:27

Afternoon ladies :)

@Babyghirl I dont take antidepressants so can't help with that sorry but thats good that your doctor has prescribed and hopefully you can start to feel more yourself 💗💗

@Leok83 oh goodness that doesn't sound good haha! I always pop some gum in my mouth before wearing my mask so I dont have to smell my own breath 🤣

@Nuggetlover27 woohoo!!! How many times have you managed to dtd or have you been relaxed?

It hit me that there are a few girls who are giving birth next month who started with us on this thread! Insane how long its been

OP posts:
Babyghirl · 25/08/2020 13:51

@Annny27

I know they won't be the answer all together but hoping they help me get bck to some sort off normal, and I can start to relax a bit cause I know the stress and anxiety is not helping with ttc. I need to get the spring bck in my step again and hopefully things will just happen xx

Nuggetlover27 · 25/08/2020 19:37

@Annny27 ever been dtd every other day to Sunday then again yesterday. However came home from work today and done a test and it's reading 0.5 (highway it's been all cycle!) so guess we will have to dtd again today to make sure we don't miss that ov 😂
It's crazy how many ladies from these threads already have their rainbow babies 😕
But it's gonna be our time soon!
How are you doing? Have you started dtd yet?

@Babyghirl hope that the tablets can help you to get back to a good head space 💕
