As soon as AF disappears, which will be soon 🤞 me & my partner will be ttc :)
I've been keeping an eye on my cycles for a little while using the flo app & have been taking pregnacare.
Is there anything else we should know or do to help prepare ourselves? :)
Exited to go on this roller coaster of a journey & as no one knows of our plans would be lovely to hear off people ttc too :) xx

Hi all! Hope it's ok to join in the conversation...
This is our first month TTC baby number 2!
Came of the pill last month, and have had withdrawal, and period so should be ovulation around about now (hopefully!)

I am fairly new to mumsnet - could anyone help me with some of the common acronyms used in this thread please?!

@RLou3 not yet 😃 but she has a habit of making a slight late arrival usually 😂
I am usually spotting by now for AF tho
I'm trying not to get my hopes up.
I'm having a few cramps and am feeling bloated but that could also be normal too? 🤷🏼‍♀️

The past couple of days tho I've found the easiest not to completely symptom spot 😂
Last week I was wanting to take tests left right & centre & now I feel quite chilled 😂



@lalababy1 I was and still am trying to get my head around the terms but if you type in google mums net acronyms it should all come up,Its good to look back on it still sometimes as some words I still don't have a clue 😂🤷🏼‍♀️

@RLou3 I'm giving AF until Friday 😂
She's never usually that late so if she's not here by then I'm going to test.
It is only our first month ttc so I'm not holding my breath too much as I know it might not happen straight away.

Isn't it so cruel what our bodies put us through tho 🙈😂

@RLou3 I totally understand! I'm a natural worrier too and have convinced myself this is going to take a long time. Also feeling very drained and we're only a month in! I'm going to start using OPK's from next month too

Still no sign of AF here! Now 3 days late but irregular periods so hopefully will be here in the next few days ready to start a new cycle!

Thanks! Good luck with your journey too, just had a little read through to catch up. You sound like me... very impatient! I've already been checking what the first possible date I could do an early pregnant test would be (I mean POAS )
I saying I am being really chilled out about it, but in reality I am meticulously going over every detail haha

@Helenmelon92 it’s so draining isn’t it!! So you’ve been trying for 1 month? Are you waiting for AF? Are you taking any pregnancy supplements? I really am dreading the process tbh. I just know after 1 month I’ll be sure that I’m infertile and be completely stressed by it all!! I’m nuts and I know it... doesn’t make it any easier though. Xxx

@RLou3 so draining!!! Yeah we started trying a month ago as couldn't get my IUD out before then due to covid 🙄 currently waiting for AF, have done a few pregnancy tests the last week and all BFN so expecting AF to arrive any day! I started taking supplements/folic acid about 2/3 months ago. I'm already convinced this is going to take a long long time with my slightly irregular cycles and I've just been so desperate for a baby for so long that I think is making me feel even more emotional right now!! I know I'm being irrational but definitely doesn't make it any easier like you say xxx

Hubby and I knew we wanted to start trying now, so baby comes May/June
I was so optimistic and felt like i was doing positive thinking, and manifesting that I would definitely have a baby by May next year, but now it has come to actually TTC, the negative thoughts just can't help themselves!
Keeping my fingers crossed for both of us, for BFP and also for positive thoughts!!

I've been waiting for my BF to be ready for a long time 😂
This first month has definitely been a learning curve. 🙈

@Helenmelon92 one of the longest wait other then the 2ww is the wait for the next cycle 🙈

It's all a waiting game this ttc 🙈
Just wish there was a test straight away that said its happened this month or not so we can stop driving ourselves crazy with symptom spotting 🙈

We haven’t even bloody started yet and I keep having to remind myself - no that pain wasn’t a sign of pregnancy because I haven’t started trying yet!!! God I’ll be bald by the end of this!!

Hello, I am trying to conceive. But I would like to ask a question which may sound silly. Does peeing after sex decrease the chances of fertility. Does the chances of fertilization decrease if you pee straight after sex?

@lalababy2 same 🤣🤣 I know what pushchair I want, what I want the nursery to look like etc? I'm obsessed 🙈 I work with babies/kids and my best friends have just had/are having babies so thats really not helping matters!!

@RLou3 lol! That's so funny, what are we like!!! I used to be a bit crazy like that when I was still on the pill too. Looking at my stomach in the mirror like oooo it looks like a bump?!...nope that was all those chocolate biscuits you just had with your tea!

@Helenmelon92 it does seem though that you see babies and/or pregnant women everywhere you turn when you start trying!
If my husband think I'm bonkers he hasn't let me know yet. I've just told him we need to DTD A LOT!!! He's like of course my love....

@rosiej95 hopefully it will all start making sense soon... or even better, we get pregnant quickly so we can move on to the next stage of craziness

Have been off birth control for 5 months but only actively ttc for 2 months.
Tracking my cycles on FF and using OPK tests and just both started taking pregnacare (his and hers)

Should be ovulation around the 31st (our anniversary!). Hoping this is the lucky month!

@lalababy2 Definitely does!! It's all I can think about right now... My husband is definitely on board with DTD a lot!!

Am going to start using OPK's this month so something else to obsess over this month

I'm seeing pregnant ladies everywhere! DH mentioned an event next August and I thought gosh I hope I'm pregnant or holding a baby for that event!
I can't believe how few fertile days you actually have, if I have another 45 day cycle I still have 25 days until ovulation!! Will start OPK's around day 19 and keep temp charting incase its a shorter cycle fingers crossed!

I’m glad it’s not just me getting obsessed, I had my implant taken out 2 weeks and 1 day ago and I can’t stop using OPK’s. I’m 38 so don’t have time to waste and I just want to ovulate and have an AF so that I know things are working ok. I’ve already picked out the pram and mentally decorated the nursery 🙈🤣

Still no AF thought I had a bit of spotting earlier but haven't now. Feeling nauseous today but also feel like AF is coming.
Part of me doesn't want to waste any more money on a test & then the other part of me is getting a little impatient 😂
