@PurplePansy05 Is there any way you can speak to someone about your workload? It’s really not the stress you need bless you. I find WFH it’s really hard to manage boundaries as people know we’re working longer days & we’re always there (this is me assuming you’re an office worker & are WFH!)

I’m not too sure how I feel about it tbh, it was just a phonecall with the nurse (but after she’d got advice from a doctor). She mentioned progesterone & then said contraceptive pill, but I thought they were 2 different things?! My scan is Monday so I’ll find out more then, and will go in prepped with questions after doing some research. So thank you for the info/insight. It is still early days after the MC which is what I thought they’d say on the phone, but 43 days & no period is very odd, and spotting throughout that whole time, spesh when my first period post MC came exactly 4 weeks after the MVA. The sooner my cycle is sorted the better, so I just thought ‘great they’re taking it serious & taking action’ - but we’ll see.

Has anyone else taken progesterone? And if so was it for the same reason? I’m sure someone on here is/was.

Hi ladies! Sorry been a bit awol but work has been so so busy! So today I dared doing my first ever cheap OPKS lol not really expecting anything as ERPC has just been over a week. But I can totally now see why you’d end up testing every day and tracking line progression. So no surprise there but I think my stick v clearly shows no ovulation yet but I think it’s probably too early yet after ERPC anyway. Is someone in this group who tracked and received positive ovulation post ERPC but before first af? And if so, how long after ERPC did you see a positive ovulation strip?

@Starfish762 I was on progesterone before, after my second MC i was advised to take it after ovulation to ensure my lining was thick and the luteal phase was long enough. There are different schools of thought on this though, some say it supports the pregnancy, some say it makes no difference. I guess in your case the question is whether your hormones are imbalanced throughout the cycle because of the spotting and cycle length - which might then affect your ovulation and length of each phase of the cycle and make it more difficult for you to get pregnant. If that's what they suspect then they need to test your hormone levels (progesterone in particular) and take it from there. It might be the case that you need to be supplemented throughout one-two full cycles to get your hormones back to normal. But I still think it's a bit early, only two cycles after the MC?

It's hard to say anything before they test your hormone levels, I'd definitely be pushing for this.

PurplePansy05 · 24/07/2020 15:56

Also re my work, yes, office worker and a senior one so I've got the responsibility for my own work, managing the team of juniors, doing my own admin and bills and developing the business... None of which is easy when wfh in the pandemic with your entire support staff furloughed, and extremely busy with my main work too. It's just got past the point of ridiculousness in the last two weeks, but I feel I can't say anything when some colleagues are losing their jobs and others are in difficulties with childcare etc. I am not ungrateful for where I am at all, I am just completely exhausted and starting to resent the job I loved.

PurplePansy05 · 24/07/2020 16:00

I was going to ask too, has anyone noticed having ovulation pain post-MC? I've never had it before, but I think it's started yesterday which is a bit early for me... I normally wouldn't ovulate before next week. I'm a bit panicky because DH and I dtd 2 days ago thinking we're safe (as you know I'm not actively TTC this cycle due to travelling abroad next month), but maybe we were not... Confused

If you have ovulation pain, does it happen on the day of ovulation/before/after???

Shinea · 24/07/2020 16:14

@PurplePansy05 yeah I never had ovulation pain before my MMC and after mc I am experiencing twinging on one side starts on ovulation and that pain goes on and off till AF. So far I have had 4 cycles after MC.
I really dont know why this pain only after MC

PurplePansy05 · 24/07/2020 16:24

Thanks @Shinea. Does yours start on the day of ovulation?

Shinea · 24/07/2020 16:33

@PurplePansy05 yeah I know I am ovulating when I have too much pain on ovulation day and that continues till AF with on and off.

PurplePansy05 · 24/07/2020 16:57

Oh bugger... well that's not the best news for me this cycle then! Confused 🤦🏼‍♀️

Threnody · 24/07/2020 16:57

@PurplePansy05 I sometimes get ovulation pain, but not related to the miscarriage. It seems to come a day before if I do get it, but I'm not certain that it isn't just a random cramp since I don't get it every cycle.

@Starfish762 sorry, I didn't see your post before! It's good that they're doing something, but definitely do your research and don't let them put you on bc if you don't want it. You have lots of options. And it does seem early to be going down that route, since it can take a while for cycles to sort themselves out.

@Firevie - I would say that's high, but not positive yet.

I am stressing myself out over the mismatch between my CB digi and cheap opks, supposedly CB uses an algorithm based on your own baseline lh levels to identify a surge, which obviously cheapies just detect actual lh levels. But I don't know when I'm going to ovulate now - is it 12-48 hours after this morning's peak CB, or 12-48 hours after I get a peak on a cheapie (assuming I do). Agh.

PurplePansy05 · 24/07/2020 17:02

@Threnody Sorry, I meant that ovulation pain only appeared for me since my MC, I haven't had it before. I don't think it has anything to do with the MC itself, apart from the hormones perhaps still being higher and maybe ovulation is more noticeable as a result, IYSWIM.

It is definitely linked to ovulation for me now, I can see CM now as well and it's not an odd twinge, it's been consistent since yesterday. It looks like I've accidentally had a shag when I shouldn't have, for once! Too late now, I'm now going to be stressing out when I'm away cause this is when AF is due!

Aaaaaaarghhhhh 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

Threnody · 24/07/2020 17:10

@PurplePansy05 If you are ovulating early, af should be due early too. When are you going away?

Firevie · 24/07/2020 17:13

@Threnody thanks that is what I thought but I saved a pic of it in the Premom app and that says low/48🤔 no clue. Do you know of any other apps where you can just click a pic and it tells you if it’s high or low?

Threnody · 24/07/2020 19:06

@Firevie I use the femometer app, which lets you do that. I find it is fiddly taking the pic though, have to try and get the lighting just right. You can do it with fertility friend but it's not automatic so you have to click on the lines yourself, and it just tells you the colour difference.

Workingmama1 · 24/07/2020 20:37

@PurplePansy05 I've had ovulation pain since having my daughter and really noticed it post MC. I actually spoke to a Dr on Monday and she said its likely to be as my hormones are still out of whack. It would be typical if you got pregnant this month when you were trying not too! But flying isn't the worst thing, with everyone in masks and the air filtration it seems it will be pretty safe.

@Starfish762 it's good they are actively looking into your spotting. I'm afraid I'm not sure on treatment, maybe do some more research first and see what they say on Monday, if you aren't happy with it, don't be afraid to say no and get a second opinion.

WildflowerPetals · 25/07/2020 09:05

On day 6 (I think) of flashing smiley with only one stick left, doesn’t look like I’ll see a static smiley this cycle 😔 Really disappointed as they worked so well for me last time... x

Sakura54 · 25/07/2020 10:22

Hi, it’s been a little while @WildflowerPetals

@PurplePansy05 Yes, I think I had ov pains after the MC as it coincided with my predicted ov day. I’ve never felt it before so thought AF was coming super early as it was the same pain. Feels odd to say this but I hope you don’t get pregnant! Even if you do, it’ll be ok.

Threnody · 25/07/2020 10:46

I got a peak on my opk this morning (again with 2mu and fmu was low, so that really does make a difference). Femometer app reckons it's only just peak, and told me to test every 4 hours, but it's definitely as dark as the control. I also had a temp dip this morning and getting what I think are ov pains on my right, so pretty certain I'm ovulating today! Looks like cb monitor just picked it up a day early. We didn't dtd last night as oh is ill, but did the 4 previous nights, so hopefully that's good.

@WildflowerPetals oh no, can you get more sticks? 6 days of flashing smileys is ok, 25% of women get them for 5-9 days.

Threnody · 25/07/2020 10:59

In case anyone's interested, the top was fmu at 7:22, the bottom 2mu at 9:50.

WildflowerPetals · 25/07/2020 11:26

Hi @Sakura54, hope you’re well 😊

@Threnody I might get some more tomorrow but I don’t know if it’s worth testing anymore this cycle. When I used them last time I got my peak on day 16, I’m now on day 18 so seems too far off 😕 Hope you’re ovulating now like you think! 🤞🏼 X

PurplePansy05 · 25/07/2020 16:49

Wow, @Threnody that's a big difference in the space of a couple of hours! Definitely a peak. Good luck 🍀

Thank you ladies for your O pains wisdom, the twinges are less noticeable today, I'm holding on to hope that O is still to come. I've worked out that if it was O, the earliest I could test would be my first day away... I'm not doing this, I'm only going for 3 days and I'd be panicking the whole time. I'll be very cautious & test when I come back unless AF arrives (which it probably will). I'm sure it won't happen this month, what are the chances!

How is this weekend treating you all? 😊 Xx

WildflowerPetals · 26/07/2020 11:01

Finally got my static smiley on my very last OPK stick 🙌🏼 I though I would ovulate around the same time as I did before MMC as my periods have been the same as before, turns out I was wrong 🙈 Got my static smiley on day 16 when I last conceived, this time it’s day 19! X

Threnody · 26/07/2020 14:30

@WildflowerPetals hurrah! Good luck!

I am completely confused. On Friday, CD17, I got my static smiley, but negative opk, temp was 36.45. The yesterday, CD18, I got a peak opk (138% according to femometer), which dropped in the afternoon to high (44%), a temp drop to 36.29, cramps and nausea. Today, CD19, I got a temp rise of 0.01 to 36.30, and another peak opk of 164% in the morning. I checked again with my cb digital and got another static smiley. Opk is back down to high (52%) now. So what is going on? Did I ovulate yesterday, or today or will it be tomorrow?

Poppy10121 · 26/07/2020 16:15

Hi ladies, I’ve been catching up on the last few days! Having a very hectic time at work at the moment and trying to chill without my phone in the evenings to properly relax! I’m 13DPO today and AF due tomorrow. Getting some cramps today so I think she will be coming as usual.

@PurplePansy05 I’ve definitely noticed ovulation pain since the MMC but also a lot more cycle specific changes in my body - I have no idea if it’s because hormones are all over the place still or because I’m on constant high alert for them! I’ve heard that the air filtration systems on planes are of the same efficiency they use in operating theatres, so travelling by plane may not be that risky if you keep mask on and stay aware of touching anything. I’m sure whatever happens it will be fine 🤞

@WildflowerPetals glad you got your static smiley! I found cycles very hard to predict after MMC and not consistent yet.

@Threnody that all sounds very confusing! I suppose probably none of the tests are 100% accurate but I thought the point of the smileys is that they’re testing for 2 different things? Could it be that your surge lasted a bit longer (maybe the afternoon urine was more diluted?) I’ve heard the surge can last from a couple of hours to a couple of days but I think ovulation is 24-48 hours after the start of the surge. So maybe today/tomorrow?

Threnody · 26/07/2020 16:57

Hi @Poppy10121 Hope af doesn't turn up for you!
Thanks, yeah, maybe my urine was just too dilute yesterday, took another test just now and it's peak again, so maybe I'm just having an extra long surge for some reason. I'm going to step away from the tests now. That's what I thought about ovulation too.
