Hi @PurplePansy05 how are you? I’ve not managed to book a scan. My GP has said that he’ll call me back on Monday and go from there. Touch wood I’ve not had any spotting this week, but I know that doesn’t mean anything.

It sounds like a really great opportunity, so think you’re right in still pressing ahead with it and like you say, they’ve approached you, so a little time isn’t going to make much difference. And, you don’t know when an opportunity like that might come around again!

Covid has just made everything difficult and less certain. I saw the new nhs guidance, but neither of the trusts in my area are going to implement them - certainly not for some time.

We’re having my mum & sister (same house) and DH mum over. My Dad lives abroad, so it makes limiting a bit easier this year! I just hope to know before then whether I have miscarried or not xx

Carefree1 · 18/12/2020 13:07

Hi @dippyegg32 sorry I missed your post 🤦‍♀️ Sorry that you’re going through this and hope you’re recovered from your ERPC.
I had an MVA so slightly different, but I didn’t bleed at all after. I got my negative test exactly 2 weeks after the procedure and my first period 6 weeks after. I don’t have regular cycles and they stayed irregular after.
Don’t put pressure on yourself xx

PurplePansy05 · 21/12/2020 16:02

Hi @Carefree1 how are you? Did you hear back from your dr? I'm keeping everything crossed you'll get a scan before Christmas. What are your Christmas plans now, any changes?

So I had my scan today and for the first time we saw a beautiful, beating heart ❤ I can't even describe this. I'm 6+2 and all is looking well. Obviously not out of the woods yet, but it's the first big hurdle and what an incredible moment to see this ❤ xxx

Carefree1 · 21/12/2020 17:47

Hi @PurplePansy05, Dr called today. Due to the virus he won’t refer me to the hospital, but helped find somewhere private. I managed to get an appointment for Wednesday. We’re in tier 4 now, so shouldn’t be mixing on Christmas Day. Not entirely sure what we’re going to do to be honest, it’s all so last minute.

Oh wow that’s such amazing news 💗 I’m so, so happy for you! What a lovely start to Christmas week. I bet you’re on cloud 9 at the moment xx

PurplePansy05 · 21/12/2020 18:03

@Carefree1 Ah, thank you, that's so lovely of you. I am still shocked tbh, I'm so used to bad news that I find it hard to believe. If anything this has made me realise that we can make a baby that is alive and no matter what happens, we'll keep trying for as long as we can. And who knows, maybe this is our time. The chances are looking good now but of course I've already made up the dark side of the pregnancy statistics far too many times! I'm going to have a pizza and Sprite tonight, this is the combination my stomach can currently tolerate well! DH cried at the scan, bless him. He said this was the best thing he has ever seen in his life.

I'm so delighted you'll be scanned before Christmas. Your doctor sounds very helpful, that's great. Please let me know how it goes, I'll be thinking of you ❤

We're staying put just us on Christmas Day, covid is rife in Wales and we know of more and more people who have it now, sadly. I'm not willing to risk myself or anyone else now we're close to the vaccine that will (hopefully?!) end this nightmare! xxx

Carefree1 · 21/12/2020 18:26

@PurplePansy05 aww that is so lovely, bless him. I hope you enjoy your pizza and sprite!

Thank you, I will let you know, although not expecting good news. I’ve still no sickness or anything. My breasts started to hurt again on and off, but more sore than achey.

Enjoy your amazing news and don’t take that smile off of your face 💗

PurplePansy05 · 21/12/2020 18:33

@Carefree1, I have had no real symptoms in the last few days. They come and go and tbh it's more so than I'm fussy with food than feeling sick or anything. My sore breasts are gone. My RHR has dropped and it's got me panicked. Today I couldn't eat at all, I was so nervous that I just had a couple of crackers. I know you're cautious and I am too, what I'm trying to say is don't 100% assume it's bad news. I did and I was wrong and it cost me unnecessary stress and worry, not worth it. It absolutely can be fine. Not long left now xxx

Starfish762 · 22/12/2020 21:51

@PurplePansy05 yey to the scan & HB! So happy for you! I totally get the worries & thinking the worst, but please try not to symptom spot - I had no symptoms with DD until I was about 9w when the tiredness kick in, same this time round. No sore boobs, no change in size, honestly nothing! Symptoms mean nothing, even if you have them things can go wrong, and if you don’t everything can be fine. I totally get it though, just trying to reassure you. Self preservation is important I know, but just try to ride the high for as long as you can. I had an early scan at 7w then again at 9w as I just couldn’t wait for my 12w, it helped keep my negative thoughts at bay, so maybe try that too if you can afford xx

PurplePansy05 · 22/12/2020 21:55

@Starfish762 I know, I had two MMC before with symptoms till the end, so I'm very aware it's meaningless. Always causes some anxiety, but it is what it is.

I'm under the RMC care so I don't go for private scans anymore. My next scan is at 9 weeks, then 12.

Hope you're keeping well xxx

Starfish762 · 22/12/2020 21:57

@PurplePansy05 oh great I’m pleased they’re looking after you, and rightly so after everything you’ve been through. Keep us posted xx

PurplePansy05 · 22/12/2020 22:01

Thanks @Starfish762. I've been a bit worried because I had some light brown spotting with a slight hint of light pink, or more so discharge yesterday before the scan and also today. I'm now reading these might be my progesterone pessaries which I'm using vaginally. I can't face trying them out the other way! You just can't help but worry, eh.

How is the new house? Anything planned for Christmas? Xx

Starfish762 · 23/12/2020 06:46

@PurplePansy05 bless you, the worry just never ends! I’m 17+3 today & still so paranoid. House all good thank you, feeling nice & settled now :) Just can’t believe it’s Christmas in 2 days, doesn’t feel like it at all - crazy year!

PurplePansy05 · 23/12/2020 07:42

(TMI warning, sorry!) Well here I am trying Cyclogest rectally, what a feeling Confused Christ on a bike. Didn't think I'd be sticking things up there tbh, the things I do to eliminate stress and worry 🤦🏼‍♀️ Fingers crossed this will help with the discharge situation, although I know it's likely innocent. Just don't want to see it or have my cervix irritated, tbh!

@Starfish762 So good you're all settled in before Christmas. Our sale is pretty much ready to go, but the purchase isn't. So annoyed with our seller, she's been sat on the enquiries for over 6 weeks now. Obviously nothing will happen now before Christmas and our solicitor is off till mid-Jan. Helpful 🙄 Anyway if we don't have an agreed exchange and completion date by end of Jan, we'll threaten to pull out. Xxx

Starfish762 · 23/12/2020 08:14

@PurplePansy05 oh how annoying! It’s such a stressful process I feel for you. You’ll get there in the end though xx

Carefree1 · 23/12/2020 17:25

Hi @PurplePansy05, sorry I’ve been quiet. I had my scan today and went really well. Measured 6+4 and a strong 💗. I’m over the moon, was not expecting that at all.
It turns out the spotting was from implantation and she could see where it was. Also have a cyst on my ovary, which might be why I’ve been a bit uncomfortable.
Sorry for being so negative, I just felt sure.

Oh I hope that wasn’t too uncomfortable! Xx

PurplePansy05 · 23/12/2020 17:36

Oh @Carefree1 that's lovely news, so pleased for you ❤ Merry Christmas to us, the first hurdle is behind!!!

Well the good news is that it seems to have worked, I had no spotting today and overall I'm feeling a bit better. Yesterday was rough, I felt awful all day, on the verge of sickness. Today is ok, even had an apple and a tangerine and my cervix is much happier without Cyclogest.

Fingers crossed everything goes well for us. I have some alcohol-free bubbly from M&S on the go 😁 xxx

PurplePansy05 · 23/12/2020 17:42

Also we are twinning @Carefree1, I'm 6+4 today too! Xxx

Carefree1 · 23/12/2020 18:39

Thank you @PurplePansy05! Ahh amazing twinning!!

That’s good that it’s having a better effect. Hopefully your sickness doesn’t get too bad!

Ooo what’s it like? I need to find a good alcohol free alternative- the wine I tried before was bad at best. I think the nicest one I tried was the friexnet. Any suggestions welcome!!

Enjoy the bubbles 😊 xx

PurplePansy05 · 23/12/2020 19:48

@Carefree1 Well I'm having an A-F M&S moscato and I thoroughly recommend! It's not too sweet or sickly. I can't do sweet flavours now and generally I'm more of a savoury/dry girl, gin, aperol, campari etc. But needs must, and it's good.

I also bought three bottles of A-F Bucks Fizz from M&S and I will be ALL over it from tomorrow! DH made me A-F Baileys too but that was 2 weeks ago and since then I can't do anything creamy sadly 🤣 xx

Carefree1 · 24/12/2020 10:13

@PurplePansy05 I find most alcohol free drinks really sweet. I had a mojito and it wasn’t great, DH said he’ll make me some for tomorrow, hopefully better. I’ve left it too late for an M&S haul, so will have to do with what Morrison’s had this morning.
Definitely try M&S once opens again.
I can’t believe it’s Christmas tomorrow! I’ve really missed the build up xx

SkyBlue20 · 24/12/2020 10:38

This thread had disappeared so far down my watched list that I thought I’d lost it but hunted it out and there are two BFPs!! Congratulations @PurplePansy05 @Carefree1! 🥰 I know the first trimester is SO filled with anxiety but all is sounding good, I’m sending so many positive vibes your way!
I’m almost 29 weeks now 😱 and having a little girl 💕 Still got anxiety over pretty much everything I can when it comes to pregnancy but it’s definitely not as bad as it was earlier on.
Hope everyone has a very merry Christmas despite all of the restrictions this year xxx

Thank you @SkyBlue20.
You’ve come so far since starting this thread, how lovely you’re having a little girl. I hope that your pregnancy journey is kinder to you now and filled with less anxiety.
Hope you had a lovely Christmas xx

Wishingforarainbow7 · 26/12/2020 19:26

Can I join this thread for some support? I found out I was pregnant in September, I went for a scan on 7th November when I should of been 9 weeks, I found out I was pregnant with twins but one had stopped growing at around 5 weeks and the other 6 weeks, and there were no heartbeats. I had to wait a couple of weeks and have another scan to confirm the loss. I then got medical management to induce the miscarriage on 22nd November.
Roll on to xmas eve and I started my first period, so im currently on CD3, praying for a rainbow baby in 2021!
I already have a little girl who will be 2 at the end of January and I know she would make the best big sister.
Sending love to all that have been through losses xx

PurplePansy05 · 29/12/2020 08:21

Hi @Wishingforrainbow7, sorry for your double loss, that's very sad. You're in the right place, we all understand.

@Carefree1 and I are now pregnant after loss if this gives you some hope. I had 3 MCs and no living DCs yet, hopefully this time things will go ok.

I gather you had the negative pregnancy test after medical management and it was definitely AF arriving? Keep in mind your cycle may have changed after the miscarriage, you may not ovulate immediately after or it may be on a different day to usual. This is quite common. Best if luck to you xx

@Carefree1 How are you doing? I've been feeling rough, can't quite describe why, sometimes it's nausea, sometimes I just really can't be bothered. It seems to hit me daily at 1pm if I don't eat my lunch beforehand. But then no other symptoms at all, I'm now freaking out it's still 2 weeks till my next scan. All of my heavy/tugging sensations are pretty much gone, they only very occasionally make an appearance and it's got me worried.

I need to stop overthinking NOW.

Hope you're keeping well and had a lovely Christmas xx

@SkyBlue20 Thanks, lovely to hear from you. We're still early on so being cautious, but yes, some positive developments! Not long left for you then, how lovely xx

Carefree1 · 30/12/2020 09:08

Hi @Wishingforarainbow7, sorry that you find yourself here. I hope that this thread gives you hope, many people have gone on to have successful pregnancies after.

Don’t put too much pressure on yourself either. I remember being disappointed that I didn’t fall quickly after. But it takes a while for the body to settle and cycles to get back to your normal. Just be kind to yourself x

@PurplePansy05 I’m good thank you, how are you? I’ve been wiped out and hungry but nothing I want to eat except beige food. The thought of a lot of food makes my stomach turn but I’ve not got sickness.
I think what you’re explaining is totally normal. I feel kind of woozy and find I just need to eat a little something.

It all seems totally normal I would say, so try not to think about it too much (easier said then done I know). The next couple of weeks will hopefully go by quickly x
