I’m so sorry - I’ve posted on the wrong thread, have reported this

Threnody · 05/09/2020 10:51

How is everyonethis weekend?

@PurplePansy05 congrats on the new car, sounds great to give you some freedom.

I had my CD2-5 blood test done on Thursday morning, and the results are through on my NHS app already. It all looks like things are in the normal range, obviously I'll have to wait to see what the dr says, but progesterone, lh, fsh, prolactin, and thyroid levels all look ok for the follicular phase, according to Dr Google. I've got to make an appointment for day 26 progesterone test, and see what that says.

Starfish762 · 05/09/2020 13:34

Happy weekend all! Hope everyone’s okay.

@Threnody that’s great your tests all looking good so far, peace of mind for you. When is CD26?

@WildflowerPetals amazing willpower well done! Enjoy your weekend 🙂

Has anyone used the ovaview ovulation sticks (or similar?) I tried them when TTC last time & never got a positive (I was testing in the mornings once a day), so I gave up after 2 cycles. This time I’ve been using CB advanced which have been great (just expensive), but as I still have half a box of the ovaview I thought I’d try those alongside this cycle. Reading the leaflet again it says not to test in the morning but to do it at midday, but CB says to do in morning when LH is stronger. So I’m confused how 2 tests doing the same thing can advise something different? I’m sure I’ve read on here people using the sticks more than once a day too? Maybe that explains why I never got a positive before despite using for 2 cycles, as I only did once a day?

Threnody · 05/09/2020 13:40

@Starfish762 CD26 is 26th September.
The clearblue advanced digital test for two hormones, first they look for oestrogen, so you have to test with fmu for that. They also look for lh surge, but instructions do say once you've had the high reading (oestrogen rise detected), you can test more than once a day. Normal stick opks test o ly for lh. Most say to test between 10am-6pm or similar. This is because many women get their lh surge in the early hours of the morning, but it takes about 5 hours for it to make its way into your urine, so you don't want to test with fmu (further back in this chat I shared a pic of my lh strips, with fmu negative and a few hours later peak), as you may miss your surge (which can last just hours, so would be gone by next morning).

PurplePansy05 · 05/09/2020 16:49

Thank you @Threnody. Glad to hear your results are normal so far, are you getting anything else checked now apart from progesterone?

@Starfish762 Threnody explained it all very well. Also don't forget sometimes the surge won't be detected at all and it doesn't mean an anovulatory cycle, it simply may have lasted several hours. But this is less likely to happen with CB because it checks both hormones.

WildflowerPetals · 06/09/2020 09:09

Did a cheapie test this morning. DH thinks he can see a really faint line, sometimes I think I can see one but I think it’s just our minds playing tricks on us. I’ll test again Tuesday is AF doesn’t arrive.

PurplePansy05 · 06/09/2020 10:49

AF is here! Another 30 day cycle for me, my cycles seem to have got shorter and very regular since the MVA. That's a small positive.

I met up with a dear friend of mine who has just moved back my way yesterday and had a good chat with him. Even though he's a man, he understands things well, he's on his way to become a vicar. I'm not religious, but talking to him has given me a lot of peace and comfort. I'm feeling very lucky to have lovely friends.

Smilingdonkey · 06/09/2020 22:46

Hi! I haven't checked in here ages but I thought I'd see how you are all doing and I just wanted to say @wildflowerpetals that is exactly what my my chart has looked like in all three of my pregnancies (2 successful)... Looks very promising!
Sending love to all xxxxx

Starfish762 · 07/09/2020 10:17

@Threnody @PurplePansy05 thank you for all the info, very helpful.

@PurplePansy05 glad you feel better after a chat with a friend, it really does work wonders! I went a bit too mad with plans & now I can’t wait for some quiet alone time 😂

@WildflowerPetals everything crossed for you!

WildflowerPetals · 07/09/2020 11:23

@Smilingdonkey @Starfish762 Thanks for the positivity! My temp had dipped quite a bit today (AF due tomorrow) so I’m not feeling too hopeful but we’ll see x

PurplePansy05 · 07/09/2020 14:40

Thanks @Starfish762. I know what you mean re going overboard, sometimes it's important to diarise a day of doing nothing and taking a break, just for yourself. I sometimes forget to do that.

So I went to the hospital today for the initial blood tests. The technician said when she was taking my samples "Ooh, it looks really sticky" which made me worried I do actually have the sticky blood syndrome 😔 We'll see. I'm still waiting for the letter confirming my RMC appointment, everything is taking so long 😔 I'm feeling like a failure today, my marriage is not right, I can't have a healthy baby and it's just all a bit worthless 😔

WildflowerPetals · 08/09/2020 11:39

Had some brown spotting this morning which is now heavier and red so I think I can assume AF is here. I only have very mild (if any) cramping though which is strange for me.

WildflowerPetals · 08/09/2020 11:41

@PurplePansy05 Hope you get some answers soon 🤞🏼 Sorry you’ve been feeling so down, I think it can be so easy to start beating ourselves up when we’ve had a MC, are you feeling any better today?

PurplePansy05 · 08/09/2020 13:29

Hi @WildflowerPetals. Thank you Flowers Not sure if I'm better, I'm busier which probably helps.

Are you sure it's AF? How are you feeling? Xx

WildflowerPetals · 08/09/2020 14:53

@PurplePansy05 It always helps to have something else to focus on for a bit 😊

I wasn’t sure at first but I am now as it’s gotten heavier. Still not much cramping though. But every period I’ve had since the MMC seems to be different! I feel sad and frustrated that it’s sort of out of my control. I try everything I can each month but nothing seems to be working. I know there’s only a small chance each month but seeing other people fall pregnant makes me feel like something’s wrong. I’m going to ring the doctors tomorrow to talk about PCOS and endometriosis as it’s something I’ve wondered about for years as I have symptoms of both. Maybe I can get some answers to put my mind at ease x

PurplePansy05 · 08/09/2020 15:02

I'm sorry to hear this @WildflowerPetals. It's a blow when we try so hard, isn't it, I know exactly what you're referring to. I won't tell you the most annoying words ever spoken that it happens when we don't focus on it (although it was the case for me with every pregnancy). It isn't really something that helps though. I'll just say that you're at the beginning of the fresh cycle which means another chance is on the horizon. You're doing great, don't change that and try not to worry too much. If you think some basic test might give you some reassurance then why not. Every little helps xx

WildflowerPetals · 08/09/2020 19:06

@PurplePansy05 Yeah I’ve been told that a few times, it’s quite hard not to focus on it though when it’s something you want so much. Each time AF arrives I try to remember maybe my body just isn’t ready yet and needs more time to conceive a healthy baby. Thank you 😘 xx

Starfish762 · 08/09/2020 21:57

@PurplePansy05 @WildflowerPetals definitely doing the right thing getting appointments to investigate things. I’ve been told that same statement too many times (and I know it’s true) but it’s impossible to relax & not think about it when you want it so much & worry about time ticking on etc. Me making lots of plans is my way of trying to relax & ‘not think about it’ - obv I’m still thinking about it, but least I have some things to take my mind off it.

My 8 year old cat has been poorly since Friday so I’ve been pretty stressed, he seems to be slowly on the mend now (I hope), everything crossed! CD11 today but still nothing on CB, last cycle I got static on CD12 (no flashing) so be interesting to see what happens this cycle.

WildflowerPetals · 09/09/2020 08:43

Just rang the doctors, booked in for a week on Friday (18th), seems so far away! But at least it’s booked.

@Starfish762 I was thinking about not booking the appt but then saw your message saying you think it’s the right thing to do and went for it, so thank you for the encouragement. Hope your cat gets better soon, it’s always worrying when animals get ill as they can’t tell us what’s wrong 😔 Fingers crossed you get your static smiley tomorrow x

Starfish762 · 09/09/2020 08:59

@WildflowerPetals aww I’m pleased. Probably good for to you feel like you’re doing something, and hopefully peace of mind at the end of it all.

My cat slept well with his cone on bless him, his wound looks really bad but hopefully another few days of his meds & the cone and it’ll improve. He’s happy in himself so that’s the main thing.

Flashing smiley today so my cycle is finally more regular (hallelujah!) We’ve DTD every other day since last Wed so will do today/tomorrow/Fri & hope for the best. Although I’m now paranoid doing it every day after someone said it’s not good to do that if you have a low sperm count. No idea what DH’s is like but he’s 39 so maybe not as good as it once was 🤷🏻‍♀️

WildflowerPetals · 09/09/2020 15:04

@Starfish762 Awh good, glad he’s on the mend!

Sorry, that was me that brought up about doing it every day possibly not being good! I don’t know how true it is though. Some places say it makes no difference but other places say otherwise so who knows. If there aren’t any underlying fertility issues then I guess it’s just personal preference x

PurplePansy05 · 10/09/2020 14:46

I read that too, apparently every other day is best. But then every single time I got pregnant we DTD once in the fertile week and every month when we DTD every other day during the fertile week, nothing happened. Who understands it, I really think it's a random shot.

How's your kitty today, @Starfish762? I have a kitten (well, three pets in total, including her) and was sneezing a lot last night. Seems fine in herself and no sneezing today, but I'm slightly worried about her, she's so little and my favourite little girl xx

Threnody · 10/09/2020 15:40

That's interesting - I conceived my daughter by dtd once in the fertile week, and both sons by dtd twice in the fertile week. The baby we lost we dtd every day, and each failed attempt has been dtd every day. Maybe we'll try every other day this cycle - which is sort of what the dr recommended (3 times a week).

@PurplePansy05 - how are you doing now?

@WildflowerPetals sorry af showed up, glad you have an appointment, hope you find it useful! I am glad I made mine.

@Starfish762 Fingers crossed for you. I hope your kitty is doing well. And @PurplePansy05 - hope your kitten is ok. We have two cats, Daisy and Willow, who are currently curled up together on our bed. They've just turned 1.

I've had a horrible day - I am sad because my due date would have been on Monday, and I'd have had an elcs, so I keep thinking I'd have possibly had my baby by now. And I got into an argument on a Facebook group I'm in, and got told I was bigoted, offensive and a horrible person, and that's had me in tears too.

PurplePansy05 · 10/09/2020 15:49

Awh @Threnody you're definitely not that sort of person, you're lovely and caring. I think sometimes some things come across in a different way to intended online (and this applies to us and the readers). Sometimes we might be having a bad day and possibly be harsher, sometimes the readers are having a bad day and are oversensitive. But it doesn't mean you're a bad person, online presence is subject to interpretation and misinterpretation too. I've fallen foul of both, I'm a straight talker IRL, heart on the sleeve kind of person and everyone who knows me is used to it and has no issue because they know I mean well. But online you can't always show who you truly are and where you're coming from. Conclusion is don't take it to heart - it really doesn't define you ❤️

I'm sorry you're feeling down. You caught me shedding a tear just now because my third baby was due on Christmas Day and I've realised I'd be on the countdown now to a lovely Christmas. Big hug, lovely ❤️ Dates are very difficult and there's no easy way around that apart from letting yourself be emotional when you need to. You will feel better tomorrow, it's just one of those days that need to happen. On days like these, I pray for my little angels and hope they're ok up there. I'm not religious but I believe they are looking over me and let me quote Dame Vera, "we'll meet again" ❤️ xxx
