@Threnody everything crossed for you!

@JoJo58995 hope you’re feeling a bit better & manage to have a nice weekend (assuming you don’t work weekends!)

After 2 days of AF yesterday & today is light spotting, so another very short & light period, same as last cycle. Hopefully things are slowly getting back to normal though, fingers crossed I ovulate earlier this cycle not on day 24!

It’s 61863 degrees in Essex I’m trying not to moan but F me! 🥵😂 Hope everyone has a lovely weekend xx

Threnody · 31/07/2020 14:51

Thanks @Poppy10121 and @Starfish762.

I was hoping to get my smear test done, but had two appointments cancelled now, and my surgery aren't doing them anymore as the nurse is off sick. I can't find anywhere else to do it, so I'm quite cross.

Workingmama1 · 31/07/2020 15:28

@threnody if you don't normally get nausea then it could be a good sign!

RosieJess91 · 01/08/2020 12:02

Can't afford a digital until payday, so got a proper POAS to check line progression as with the CP there was none. And I've just got the positive test result I've ever seen!!

RosieJess91 · 01/08/2020 12:05

That was meant to say most positive...

Workingmama1 · 01/08/2020 12:25

That's a great line @RosieJess91!

I'm trying to decide whether to test again to check progression.... i tested yesterday and it was a bit darker but not as much as I would like. I've got a frer, 1000000 ICs and digital weeks in the cupboard. Thinking might do the frer tomorrow and then the digital Monday as it should show 2-3 weeks by then.

Or do a just go with right now I am pregnant and ditch the tests?

RosieJess91 · 01/08/2020 12:35

@Workingmama1 That's the problem isn't it? It's addicting seeing the lines! I'd probably do a digital just to double check the dates, but they're so expensive and I know I'm either almost 5 weeks or slightly further along, so surely it'd say 3 weeks+ and then that feels like a waste?
I'm hoping a line that dark counts out the possibility of a CP and so now all I need to do now is calm down and avoid a MC somehow. 🤞

Workingmama1 · 01/08/2020 21:00

Hope everyone has had a nice Saturday! We are still waiting for my daughter's covid test result so in self isolation, but live in Greater Manchester so back in lockdown anyway!

@rosiejess91 yes if you are 5 weeks then it would probably show 3+. I've resisted today but might do the frer tomorrow. I swing from feeling pretty positive to really stressing out. I'm not feeling too bad which is nice one minute and worrying the next!

@Threnody are you planning on testing early or holding out until AF?

Threnody · 02/08/2020 12:01

@RosieJess91 that's a wonderful line! Agree, it would probably say 3+ weeks.

@Workingmama1 Hope you get your daughter's results soon, how is she feeling? How are you feeling? Have you tested today?
I'm going to test early (I can't not), so will test tomorrow. Which is either 7, 8, or 9dpo, depending on which app or detection setting on fertility friend I use. Still having nausea, plus this morning I had a sort of hot cramping sensation, which I've had before with both my sons, so I'm wondering now, though still don't think our chances are great. Opks still low, this time last cycle they'd gone high by now, so even if I'm not pregnant, I'm hoping that my luteal phase will be longer.

Poppy10121 · 02/08/2020 12:53

Good luck for your test @Threnody! 🤞🤞

Poppy10121 · 02/08/2020 12:56

@RosieJess91 that’s a great line! I can’t decide whether to test again but i’m not sure what I would do if I got a similar or less strong line so I might just leave it!

RosieJess91 · 02/08/2020 13:01

@Poppy10121 that's why I tested, because I didn't want to be sad again if AF suddenly appeared, at least if it was fainter or gone I'd know what was coming. But I was not expecting it that dark! A few others have joked it means multiples and my friend said hers was only that dark at 7 weeks!! But I know I can't be further than 6 weeks at latest because of a hospital trip and I should only be about 5 weeks today or tomorrow really.

Workingmama1 · 02/08/2020 13:48

Good luck tomorrow @threnody!

I tested again this morning, had a panic as the line didn't look very dark then realised it was the control line and the test line was very dark! So I'm happy with that (for now!).

@rosiejess91 I tested for the same reason as you, I'd rather be prepared for bad news if the lines were getting lighter. Although I reality I guess today's test only shows things are ok right now and isn't a predictor of the future so not sure how valuable it really is...

My daughters covid test came back negative which is good. But now both me and my husband have her cold! I've started with a mild cough, its barely there and I'm pretty sure its just from having a sore throat, but not sure if I now need a test too! The NHS website is actually not that clear, if your cough is not really bad I think you need to have had it for 24 hours before you need a test. I have an elevated temp at 37.4 but not a fever.

Workingmama1 · 02/08/2020 18:26

Temp went up to 38° so went for a covid test. Highly unpleasant, I actually made myself sick and so had to do it again! More worried about a fever than covid... I had one around this time last time and had a small bleed a week later, baby only developed for about a week after that. I know it could have been unrelated but its playing on my mind. Have taken paracetamol to try and bring my tenp down which is not ideal but I think it's safer to take paracetamol than have a fever....

Threnody · 03/08/2020 09:26

Oh no @Workingmama1, hope you feel better soon. Yes, I'm sure paracetamol is fine. Glad your daughter is cleared.
That line is good, a dye stealer!
Test was bfn, unsurprisingly, I know it's too early. Feeling deflated anyway, got a high opk, and temps going down a bit, which I suppose means progesterone is dropping now. Just hoping af doesn't show on Wednesday.

Poppy10121 · 03/08/2020 09:48

I woke up paranoid that I didn’t feel nauseous so did another test this morning and it looks stronger than Thursdays (although both looking a lot lighter after a few hours sitting out! I wonder if it’s the hot weather!!)

I only have 2 tests left so hopefully I’ll stop this soon and just leave it to whatever will be... I can’t believe how anxious I feel only 4 days in!

Poppy10121 · 03/08/2020 09:48

@Workingmama1 that sounds rough :( I hope you feel better soon! Paracetamol is fine I’m sure, better to shake off the fever if you can, as you say x

BabyDust13 · 03/08/2020 11:38

Hi all
I hope you don't mind if I join. It's nearly 2 weeks since I had a D&C after medical management failed to work. I found out at 9 weeks that the baby had died at 7 weeks which was a real shock after already seeing the babies heartbeat at a 6 week scan. It's been a long slow process and I really just want to start trying again. The doctor said to wait 2/3 weeks and then do a test to make sure it's negative. I got impatient and did one this morning and it looks pretty negative to me. (I've attached a picture). We've been trying since September and I had a MC in February but that was early on only about 5 weeks and I didn't need to see a doctor. This will be our first baby when/if it eventually happens. I thought the hardest part was getting pregnant but I was wrong. I guess I should really wait for a normal period before trying again but I wonder if I should start taking folic acid again? Sorry for the long post. It's nice to see pics of your BFPs

Hi all,
I hope you don’t mind if I join? I’d appreciate going through this journey with you all as you completely understand (sadly).

My story: I had a MMC at 11 weeks, over the VE Day weekend in May. Baby had stopped developing somewhere around 9 weeks. Had MVA the day before my 12 week scan - I must say I was very lucky with my experience compared to most in the sense that they booked me in for the procedure quickly. This was my first pregnancy after trying for 10 months.
I had irregular cycles previously after coming off of the pill, but it’s too soon to understand what’s happening now!
I’m taking pregnacare preconception, but if anyone has any other tips on what else I should be taking please let me know 😊
I’m just hoping it happens quicker this time!

Threnody · 03/08/2020 14:22

Hi @BabyDust13 and @Carefree1. Sorry for your losses, you're very welcome here. That test does look negative, BabyDust13, and I would recommend taking folic acid, yes. I take Pregnacare pre-conception tablets, and re-started as soon as we decided we would start ttc again.

@Poppy10121 sorry you're feeling so anxious, I guess it's to be expected. Tests are looking good.

BabyDust13 · 03/08/2020 14:43

@Threnody thank you I think I'll start taking folic acid again now I'm sure it can't hurt

Poppy10121 · 03/08/2020 18:09

@BabyDust13 and @Carefree1 welcome :) I took pregnacare conception vitamins and also made my husband take Wellman conception vitamins at the same time! Before that I had a cocktail of separate tablets for Folic acid, vitamin d, vitamin b, etc and decided it was just easier to have one enormous one every day!

@Threnody will you test if AF doesn't show on Wednesday? That's not long away now!

Workingmama1 · 03/08/2020 21:23

@Poppy10121 glad the tests are looking stronger! Totally understand the anxiety, it's crazy how you've only known a few days how anxious it can make you. I'm trying to stay positive and actually managing too today (with trips to the loo to check my copious discharge isn't bleeding). I think I am stepping away from the tests now, given the strength of the line yesterday I'm hoping i'm moving out of the CP risk zone and after that a test doesn't tell you much I don't think.

@threnody, you're right it's still early. How high was your OPK? Do you normally get highs before AF?

Welcome @BabyDust13 and @Carefree1, sorry you have found yourselves here, its a lovely group of ladies who have been through the same thing, here for a moan, pick me up or hand hold.

One thing I stupidly didn't realise was that you need a higher level than normal of folic acid for conception and pregnancy. My normally multivitamin has 200ug and said that wqs the recommended amount so thought I was covered. Just got my pregnancy multivitamins and they have 400ug which is recommended for pregnancy, whoops! Normally wouldn't be to bothered but looked up impacts of a fever and they said it can be mitigated by taking foloc acid but I wasnt taking a high enough dose! @babydust13 I think you can start taking folic acid again now, its better to have it in your system when you conceive.

BabyDust13 · 03/08/2020 23:03

@Workingmama1 @Poppy10121 thanks ladies

BeeMakesTea · 04/08/2020 09:48

Hi, is it ok if I join you?
I am TTC no.2 since December, got a BFP the first month but sadly had a mc at 5+5 weeks. Got another BFP in March but at my dating scan in May I was told it was a blighted ovum - so there was a pregnancy sac but no baby, and I found this quite hard to come to terms with. I had a D&C at the beginning of June, waited a cycle and started TTC again this month, however just got AF today so it’s on to month 2. I feel ready to try again but am finding TTC after a mc/mmc very different to before.
