Tracking your cycle and possible BFP using RHR - part 2

Hi ladies,

This is for all of us with heart rate monitors who wish to help each other analyse the RHR patterns throughout our cycles.

Early research shows there's a correlation with increasing RHR and BFPs - so let's try and spot some together!

See attached my current chart - at 10DPO my RHR is at it's all time high this cycle and has not started to decline for AF yet. Fingers crossed!

@mumof23188 I am my lovely! I was so abnormally tired today that I ended up taking a nap at 5pm (probably my first nap this year?). It made me do an IC just in case the other day was an IB lol - but alas it was stark white! Feeling lots better about the situation after having my day 3 bloods taken this morning though!

Got my fingers crossed for you in the meantime!

Attaching my chart for the day, 69 at CD3, compared to 60 this time last cycle I think!

@Juno231 that chart looks good, that's a lovely big increase isnt it from last month then! Forgive the ignorance but what are day 3 bloods? I've had day 21 bloods done before when I was trying for little man a couple of years ago.

@mumof23188 I'm really tempted to test tonight lol. Now they're in the house I've got an urge to do one, won't be until everyone is asleep though, I'm a secret tester....or I might just fall asleep!

mumof23188 · 09/07/2020 21:41

@Juno231 glad you are ok! Oh my god what is your body doing to you. That’s just so strange isn’t it as it’s so out of the norm for you. Has AF finished then? Your chart still looks so good!! Ah I am pleased that you are feeling better about it, It’s brilliant that you were able to get the ball rolling with the tests.

Ah thank you very much. I’m just not feeling hopeful at all but then again when does anyone when TTC! It’s a tough game!

@CurlyEmz that’s the thing isn’t it when they are there you just can’t resist! Best of luck for when you do test!

Juno231 · 09/07/2020 21:49

@CurlyEmz Day 21 checks for progesterone to confirm if you've ovulated vs Day 3 which checks a bunch of other hormones like FSH/LH/Oestradiol to see if there are any other hormonal problems.

@mumof23188 yup, AF was just on the 7th and that's it 😅

@Moominmiss yes it's def a month of waiting for different things 🙈🤣 how're you feeling? Any updates?

@SarahTTC2020 new month! New focus 🤞🏻

@mumof23188 my RHR started to drop over this week and then BBT started a steady drop then went down by .2 this morning ☹️

@CurlyEmz ohhhh you should test!! But maybe do it in the morning? Early? Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻

It's been so nice to chat to others feeling the same! It's difficult to talk to friends about this sort of stuff.

meb89 · 09/07/2020 22:04

My cycle this month was only 27 days so might switch to pregnacare to try to lengthen possibly? Such conflicting info on LP length. This month mine was 11 days - some sites say too short others say ok.

mumof23188 · 09/07/2020 22:04

@meb89 😩😩 I’m going to try BBT next cycle. Any recommendations for a thermometer? Yes I agree it’s nice to come on here and chat to others going through the same kind of thing ☺️

@Juno231 wow what a pain that is!! 😱

meb89 · 09/07/2020 22:09

@mumof23188 I just bought the Femometer £9.99 one on amazon. Nothing fancy but has two decimal places and the app is free to use. It has a memory function so once it beeps you can switch off straight away and then look later if you want to sleep more. It hasn't woken my partner up either with the beeps 👏🏻

CurlyEmz · 09/07/2020 22:24

@Juno231 oh Ok. They wouldn't do any other tests for us because I already had my daughter even though we had already been trying for for about 8 months. After that they confirmed I was ovulating and had a rough journey with MC's but finally got my little man after 19 cycles in total. He will be 1 this month and my daughter is 13 next month. Shamefully going to say she was an accident, I was sick with antibiotics and ovulated, never even thought it would happen. We left it a long time for little man because we lived in a tiny tiny shoebox. I hope the results are all good for you, when do u get the results?

@meb89 I might wait until morning but my OH wakes at like 5am! Just a point on pregnacare, for me it was awful, made my af 10 days+, maybe I just didn't give it enough time but I used the Sainsbury's own brand, much better and carried on taking them instead of just folic acid all the way through my pregnancy.

@mumof23188 I've attached the one I use, it was off Amazon for about £3.99. Make sure you get one specifically for tracking bbt and goes to 2 decimal places.

mumof23188 · 09/07/2020 22:25

@meb89 fab! Thank you. Will probably get that one. You have to take it roughly the same time daily don’t you? Do you take it everyday?

mumof23188 · 09/07/2020 22:27

@CurlyEmz that’s even better than the 9.99 one. Bargain! Will definitely get one of those. Good luck for tomorrow then ☺️🤞

CurlyEmz · 09/07/2020 22:29

Everyday 6:15am. It's got to be the very first thing you do though, don't talk or during or move too much only to reach to get the thermometer. However, there are amazing reviews for Femometer like what @meb89 said.

mumof23188 · 09/07/2020 22:30

Brilliant. Thanks for the advice @CurlyEmz

meb89 · 09/07/2020 22:34

@CurlyEmz @mumof23188 I've got to be honest I like the charts of the temps but I don't like taking it. I tend to wake needing the toilet at 4/5am then I need hold out and sleep until 7 so I can measure my temp 😂 I'll give it another go this month though as it's been useful to pinpoint ovulation. I got my positive OPK on CD 14 but app and temp confirms CD16. So at least I have a narrower window to aim for this month.

meb89 · 09/07/2020 22:41

@CurlyEmz hear such mixed things about pregnacare. Nurse recommended time take it but then saw amazon reviews about messing up cycles. Maybe I'll just add some extra bits to my seven seas one 🤔

Fran2020 · 09/07/2020 22:58

@meb89 I've been taking pregnacare for over a year now and it's not affected me or my cycles at all 😊

blodyn91 · 10/07/2020 08:00

@meb89 you should take it then when you wake up needing the loo, not hold till 7am. I take mine around 4:30-6 most days, and my chart was very pretty despite some days being an hour or more off. 😊

SarahTTC2020 · 10/07/2020 08:30

Well I was thinking of testing this morning but rhr dropped 2 from yesterday so looks like AF will be on time tomorrow!

Juno231 · 10/07/2020 09:25

@meb89 I agree with @blodyn91 ! If you consistently wake up at 4 am to pee then take it then :)

@CurlyEmz it is weird how they just don't care much for secondary infertility isn't it. I'm glad you got your little one in the end though! There is an 8 year gap between me and my only sibling and I think it's lovely, I think I love him more like a mother than a sister to be honest.
Got no idea when I'll hear back about the results. End of next week maybe?

I booked myself in for the Day 21 test on the way out as per the GPs instructions, but am a bit concerned I'll show up then and they won't have a clue what I'm there for lol. GP asked me to make sure they didn't accidentally take Day 21 bloods yday as well, but the nurse had no clue what I was talking about so they may very well have done ha.

OP posts:
CurlyEmz · 10/07/2020 10:18

@Juno231 yes, he loves his big sister to bits and she's so good with him, like a second mum really. I want a sibling for him though as I always thought it was a shame for my daughter to have nobody to play with.

Well everyone, tested this morning and utter BFN! I've never seen such a white test! Plus my temp dropped from 36.63 down to 36.32 this morning so af will be here either today or tomorrow.

Me and OH need to have a talk about continuing really cuz as of today both me and my OH have been made redundant from 2 seperate companies. I was supposed to return to work after maternity next week. We've agreed a settlement deal though so that will keep me going for the next couple of months. I just don't want to be ttc until I know we are both secure (if that's even a thing nowadays). Sad

CurlyEmz · 10/07/2020 11:05

Today's charts. Sad

Moominmiss · 10/07/2020 11:13

@CurlyEmz I’m sorry your charts dropped today and you got a bfn.
My rhr dropped today too so I didn’t even bother testing. It’s clearly dropping ready for af on Monday or to come even earlier.

Really sorry to hear about your and your oh being made redundant. That’s really awful. I hope you and your oh can agree on what to do for the best.

My job isn’t the most secure at the moment but unfortunately I feel with my age I don’t have the time to put off ttc so I’m just thinking what will be will be.

SarahTTC2020 · 10/07/2020 11:14

@CurlyEmz sorry to hear about the redundancies, thats really shitty news

CurlyEmz · 10/07/2020 11:23

@Moominmiss my age is a factor too, im 39 now and it took so long to concieve little man im not sure what to do for the best.

Yeah it is crappy it's just the way things are at the moment isn't it.

As if by magic, af arrived literally 2 mins ago, little bitch!

Moominmiss · 10/07/2020 11:49

@CurlyEmz I’ll be 38 this month and really starting to worry.

My 3 children were conceived really easily within 3 cycles. But it’s 6 years since I had my youngest and a lot changes in that time.

Plus since my mc in January my periods have become way shorter and lighter. They I’m used to be 4 days long medium to heavy flow. Now I have one day of real bleeding and 1 or 2 more dats of very light bleeding where I could get away without wearing a liner or tampon! So something is going on and I really worry it’s my body going into perimenopause. Just want my tests done so I can know for certain what’s going on!

Really sorry that af actually got you. Even with everything presented in front of us (charts, bfn’s etc) it still fucking hurts when it actually shows up.

I usually feel really moody and angry for a couple of days while I get over the fact the cycle was unsuccessful but then I find I fairly quickly move on to feeling positive for a new cycle and a fresh chance to try all over again. Not that I think I could be doing anything more than I already am!

Think positive that this will be your time!!
