Tracking your cycle and possible BFP using RHR - part 2

Hi ladies,

This is for all of us with heart rate monitors who wish to help each other analyse the RHR patterns throughout our cycles.

Early research shows there's a correlation with increasing RHR and BFPs - so let's try and spot some together!

See attached my current chart - at 10DPO my RHR is at it's all time high this cycle and has not started to decline for AF yet. Fingers crossed!

Thanks so much for setting up @Juno231 and tagging, I'd have no idea how to do it!! My rhr chart is totally different this cycle, but last cycle I cut down alcohol and my chart was a lot more consistent. Been bad with drinking the last couple weeks so my chart looks crazy!

Juno231 · 05/07/2020 21:30

@SarahTTC2020 it's my first so I definitely had heart palpitations pressing "create" 🙊.
My rhr is terrible after alcohol as well so I know what you mean. My Xmas chart is attached - the peaks are 21st and 27th of Dec and are entirely alcohol induced!

Hey 👋 attached my chart for this cycle, honestly no idea what it's doing... first ⭕️ is period starting and 2nd ⭕️ is predicated ovulation. Normally it is lowest 2 days before ovulation then increases towards AF but absolutely no rhyme or reason to my chart this month 🤷🏾‍♀️

@SmileyT those are some big peaks and troughs! Had you not pointed out AF/OD I wouldn't have known where to start. Any chance your peak at 74 (or the day before) is ovulation this time? I often have a dip at 3/4 dpo like the one after your peak.

Thanks for the new thread @Juno231
I’ve attached my graph. The first circle is AF and the second is possible ovulation?

@juno237 hello can I be added to the list too please! I'm not due AF till around 28th July after a very short cycle but I'm DTD every second day. The RHR is back to 60bps and last month I think I had failed implantation as we discussed as it went through the roof week before AF. Hope some BFPs for July ladies!

Ltay2 · 05/07/2020 22:25

Thanks @Juno231!

Thank you @Juno231 for setting up the new thread.

7dpo here, had a dip today so waiting to see what happens in the next few days.

@Moominmiss that’s a good graph. Interested aswell to see what happens after the dip. Have you ever had a cycle where your heart rate has just stayed consistent after ovulation?

Fran2020 · 05/07/2020 23:22

@Moominmiss looks like a good graph! Fingers crossed it's an implementation dip.

SmileyT · 06/07/2020 06:22

@Juno231 yeah I know mine is a bit crazy this month very mountain rangy but the last 4 month I've been tracking my RHR is at its lowest just before ovulation I never have a peak. When I look back at the month I got pregnant in Jan (but MC in March) again it was lowest 2 days before when I expect I ovulated from ultrasound dating and then started to rise sharply from around 7dpo. Most people seem to have a peak around ovulation though 🤷🏾‍♀️ find it so hard to see a pattern between different peoples but also really interesting x

@Moominmiss your graph is similar to how mine has been the last few month, steep increase towards AF or that BFP 🤞 can only see the bit just before AF from last cycle but did it increase quite a lot after ovulation last month aswell? xx

mumof23188 · 06/07/2020 09:09

I’ve had a 1bpm rise after 5 days of 63bpm. When I first looked it was 65bpm and I got a bit excited as it’s not been that high for ages but it changed again to 64bpm

@Juno231 oh thanks for creating the new thread!!

I broke my chart today because I had some alcohol yesterday oooops. So now it's spiked 🙄 still only 9DPO so I'm sure it's still too early to test.

Juno231 · 06/07/2020 10:03

11DPO, BFN this morning on an IC and both my temp and RHR has dropped a bit today so I think I'm out! AF due on Wednesday so I won't have too long to confirm it 🤷‍♀️

@Juno231 😕 I really hope it doesn't continue to dip tomorrow 🤞this is the worst part about tracking rhr I think, you feel all positive and then you see a dip

Moominmiss · 06/07/2020 10:37

@mumof23188 I don’t think so really. Looking back at my graphs nothing ever looks consistent.

@SmileyT I’ve attached my graph from June so you can see my previous ovulation where I had a steady ish rise afterwards.

Not feeling hopeful this month anymore though. I’ve attached the current graph and after my dip yesterday (hopeful implantation), it’s dropped again. I wouldn’t think implantation would cause a 2 day dip and go so low. Not sure what it is unless I’m going to get a visit from af really early. It doesn’t usually fall until the day before, or day of af and it isn’t due for another 6-7 days yet.
But the huge drop definitely doesn’t look good 😩

@Juno231 fingers crossed that it doesn’t dip further!! Does BBT dip at implantation? I’m going to look into doing it for my next cycle

mumof23188 · 06/07/2020 10:40

@Moominmiss oh no, that’s a big dip. Wonder what that is? Surely AF can’t come that early. None of our charts are giving us any clues really are they.

SarahTTC2020 · 06/07/2020 10:54

Mine is different from last month's, I was having a steady rise from around 5dpo... This time I'm 9dpo and just having zigzags, but I haven't drunk a fair bit every day last week whilst I've been off

Thanks for creating the new thread @Juno231

AF got me early this month 🙃 my chart looked quite promising but I know as soon as it starts to drop that's me out for this month. Onto the next!
