TTC 12 months buddies please

Hi,

We have just hit the 12 month mark of TTC and looks like AF is on the way I am on another thread that's really supportive but I do find it disheartening when people get positives on the first couple of cycles of trying. So thought I'd start a thread for anyone around about the year mark. It'll be good to share things and get advice from people who are at a similar stage to me. Im 34 and my husbands 36. We are TTC number 1 x

@notyetamumbuttrying yes we had the 2nd SA in July and count had doubled (2 million to 4 million so still too low) and motility went from 12% to 45%(!) so now normal. Morphology went down though from 2% to 1%. So we still need IVF, changes can make a big difference but if the results are really low I don't think they do enough. Smoking is the biggest factor though so you could find that makes a big difference.

@Narwhal88 wow what a difference eh! I really hope everything shoots up but I can't see it happening tbh. He was on supplements right at the start and also didn't smoke as much and I didn't get pregnant so I'm not holding out much hope but we'll see!

@notyetamumbuttrying Booked one for October 11th as was told my husband can't come into the NHS one. Just had the NHS one through and he's now allowed though that's on the 29th Oct so going to keep the private one as its our week off so be nice. I still don't feel pregnant at all so be nice to actually see a baby in there x

Thanks all! @Hayley19835 yes first appointment. I'm really hoping to go on the waiting list for a Laparoscopy to check the state of my endometriosis out as I think that's whats most likely to be causing our issues. One step at a time though

Feeling very odd the cycle, lots of twinges and pinches, very bloated and starving! Also struggled to do my exercise classes because I've got zero energy. I dont want to hope but can't help it crossing my mind...

Seems a lot of you have male factor infertility- my husband hasn't had a SA yet as my doctor won't refer me untill November which is 12 months since our miscarriage. Maybe I should call them again and ask for the referral now given the waiting times

I should add its been 16/17 months ttc overall but only 10 since our MC. Someplace refer after 12 months total and others after 12 months since the last pregnancy

@Annny27 sorry to hear AF arrived? Is your husband with the same gp? If not he can ring up his and say its been 12 months they won't know any different. Now you're closer to the 12 months I'd call your gp up as can take a couple of months to book your bloods for the right day. Worth a try. Not as if you're asking for a fertility referral just bloods.

I’m feeling so fed up. I’m on CD14 and I’m getting brown spotting and cramping but different to ovulation cramps. Usually have positive opk by now but just getting negative opk’s. Just so sick of every cycle now getting some sort of spotting at some point in my cycle. At least I have my appointment next Thursday

@Whilstwewait my DH is at the same GP but we registered separately so mayne they don't know we are married haha? I will get him to call and ask for one :D

@Annny27 yes with data protection they won't know your medical history when your husband calls so might as well get it done now as will need doing before any referral

@jilly1988 hope you get some answers on Thursday. I was told my pre AF spotting could be a polyp. Have you had a smear recently? I'd definitely get one done. X

Hi all, im still getting funny twinges but the other day i had more AF type cramping so im expecting that its another dud month. I seem to start getting cramps about a week before AF arrives these days. Im just really hoping the appointment is positive and they suggest some course of action, be it more blood tests or scans. We now have got the full test results for my other halfs SA and although it does say normal at the top and it was 37million the morphology was only 2! Im sure his last test it was higher so they might have something to say about that.
How are you doing @Whilstwewait? Is it sinking in now?

@Motherofkittens28 that's a good amount!! My Dh's was only 25million 😬 his morphology was 2.3 but apparently it doesn't matter too much if the count is good! But I'll guess you'll find out more on Tuesday. Please pass on any pearls of wisdom! I always get af type pains a week before coming on as well. It's the progesterone rising. I'm ok thanks. Cd8 and not feeling up for FW as it just feels pointless until his sperm is better but still always a chance considering there is some sperm there. I'm just bored of it all now tbh. Plus it's me who initiates (always have) and I just don't have the energy anymore. Feeling particularly low today 😔

@notyetamumbuttrying of course! I will share everything they say to us. I totally know what you mean about not being up for FW, im quite insecure and it makes me really sad when I'm always the initiator. Also my finance had a wobble after the first two months of trying (this time last year) and decided he wasn't sure he wanted kids and even though we are past that now and he keeps reassuring me he feels totally ready now i get a bit nervous when I'm doing the chasing. Try to give yourself a break, I know its easier said than done. Maybe a month with less focus might be good for you (still trying but not mega trying), they do say being more relaxed can help, though I'm not sure how you do that!

@notyetamumbuttrying sorry lovely:( I've been feeling pretty low too tbh! And totally bored of sex. Which I feel sad about that that aspect of our lives has also been ruined by ttc!

Hi ladies, haven't posted in a while, took a little break from everything and from trying so hard.
Hope you are all well, reading a lot about upcoming appointment so it sounds positive for us all. I finally have my first NHS appointment tomorrow, over the phone, but I'll take it.
AF is due for me tomorrow/tuesday, and for the very first time I'm not experiencing any premenstrual symptoms! I always experience light cramping, pulling, tingling sensations starting 5/6 DPO, but none this time. What I did different is I started fertility acupuncture, fertility yoga, relaxed a bit more, not trying so hard. Could it really make a difference I wonder, regulating the hormones better...?

@Motherofkittens28 thanks! Not sure the relaxed approach will matter if his sperms not up to par 😣
