Hi,

We have just hit the 12 month mark of TTC and looks like AF is on the way Sad I am on another thread that's really supportive but I do find it disheartening when people get positives on the first couple of cycles of trying. So thought I'd start a thread for anyone around about the year mark. It'll be good to share things and get advice from people who are at a similar stage to me. Im 34 and my husbands 36. We are TTC number 1 x

@Anitaatje33 hi! Welcome. Sorry you're also part of the club. Have you been tested for fibroids or PCOS? From your symptoms that stands out to me as a possible reason (cramps, clots), it may be causing annovulatory cycles which would explain the lack of thermal shift. I hope your appointment is coming round soon. How long is the wait for private?

Fran2020 · 28/07/2020 11:53

Hey everyone and welcome @Anitaatje33

How is everyone doing?

I went to the doctors this morning so she could look at my cervix (all looks good apparently) and for her to take swabs (results should be back end of week). My partner's SA has come back as normal so that's good! I'm just waiting for my scan appointment and the referral to the fertility clinic. It's nice things are moving on! 😊

CD5 today so I'll be starting doing OPKs on my CBFM again tomorrow. Although doctor said 'don't put too much pressure on sex, just have sex 3 times a week during your whole cycle'. Hoping cycle 14 is out lucky one! 🍀

Anitaatje33 · 28/07/2020 12:29

Hi @Fran2020 & @PlanBea thanks for your message.
I just had my AMH blood test & scan done in a private clinic (the wait was about 4 weeks) and DH had his SA done at the same time. We get the results on Friday so finger crossed, on the scan she could already see that uterus and tubes were all clear so that is a relief. Weirdest detail though; she could see I likely ovulated this cycle as there was a ruptured follicle! You could have knocked me over with a feather. I had no signs of ovulation this cycle, no temp rise, nothing! I'm discussing this on Friday, maybe my hormones are just playing with me? On CD24 at the moment and still getting EWCM even though I apparently did ovulate already. I'm so confused about all this testing and charting, might give myself a break from it...

Not had any other tests done yet so will hear what the doc suggests to do next

Hayley19835 · 28/07/2020 13:01

@Fran2020 good news on your exam and OH's SA 👍🏻
All good here still no sign of AF now 3 days late xx

PlanBea · 28/07/2020 13:04

@Anitaatje33 oh that's interesting! There are a very few people who don't respond to hormone changes with temp fluctuations, maybe you're one such unicorn? It would be interesting to scan again in a few weeks and see if the ruptured follicle had shrunk at all though. If only we could just do tests ourselves rather than have to go through doctors/cost haha. It sounds like a good sign anyway!

@Fran2020 I hope cycle 14 is the one! It all sounds positive. We've just got DHs SA appointment for end of August, I'm waiting for my blood results so it feels like progress is being made here too

PlanBea · 28/07/2020 13:04

@Hayley19835 oh my fingers are crossed for you! X

claireb707 · 28/07/2020 13:11

Think I'm now 2dpo so fingers crossed there isn't a cycle 13

PlanBea · 28/07/2020 13:54

Bloods are back and are "ok" - tested progesterone, LH, FSH, thyroid, gonadotropin. The only figure the receptionist gave me was 45 for progesterone which to me is a bit low (should ideally be 50-60). I've booked a follow up with the GP on Thursday afternoon to ask what next and get more details on what figures are actually mentioned.

Fran2020 · 28/07/2020 13:54

@Anitaatje33 Good luck for your results on Friday. Yeah discuss it all with the doctor 😊

@Hayley19835 Thank you!! I'm pleased! Ooh that's so promising, when do you plan to test?

@PlanBea thank you! That's good you feel like you're making good progress too! It's good to feel more productive!

@claireb707 Sending positive thoughts that there isn't a cycle 13!

Hayley19835 · 28/07/2020 13:58

@Fran2020 I have tried not to think about it cos I don't want to get my hopes up and then be disappointed it could just be AF messing with me but I'm usually bang on time xx

Fran2020 · 28/07/2020 14:08

@Hayley19835 I totally understand that, things were seeming really promising for me last month too but I didn't want to be disappointed if I tested. Keeping my fingers crossed for you xx

Hayley19835 · 28/07/2020 14:17

@Fran2020 thanks 😊 yea I can't deal with seeing a negative so I'm just waiting it out xx

Fran2020 · 28/07/2020 14:42

@Hayley19835 That makes sense 😊 how long have you been TTC? Xx

Hayley19835 · 28/07/2020 14:58

@Fran2020 nearly three years now had a miscarriage Dec 2018 xx

Fran2020 · 28/07/2020 15:22

@Hayley19835 So sorry about your miscarriage 😔 keeping my fingers crossed for you xx

Hayley19835 · 28/07/2020 16:19

@Fran2020 thank you 🥰 xx

Motherofkittens28 · 28/07/2020 17:07

@Hayley19835, absolutely get not wanting to see a negative, its just so crushing. I've got my fingers crossed for you

@PlanBea my understanding is that anything over 30nmol means ovulation occurred. Mine was 42.8 and my dr said that was consistent with ovulation. Seems like a really good result!

PlanBea · 28/07/2020 17:24

@Motherofkittens28 it is interesting to see my ovusense recording core body temp was correct over my Daysy + bbt! This is the first month I have noticed a spike and the first month I've been focusing on progesterone boosting foods so was hoping it would be a positive result (which it is!) but reaching 50+ is ideal for supporting a pregnancy. Going to find out my FSH/LH figures when I speak to the doctor's too. TTC makes me glad I have a degree in biomedical science Grin

@Hayley19835 I definitely have months where I don't want to see a negative. Other months I just want to POAS every day. This cycle is the latter for me. Keep us updated, we're all rooting for you x

PlanBea · 28/07/2020 17:29

Hi @OrdinaryLilac how are you getting on as the thread's first BFP? I hope it's all going well for you after graduating from TTC into pregnancy!

Hayley19835 · 28/07/2020 17:38

Thanks everyone I'm thinking all the whole AF is a no show I'm still in with a chance. Will see what tomorrow brings 🤞🏻 xx

Hayley19835 · 28/07/2020 17:39

EmeraldLily18 · 28/07/2020 18:12

Hey everyone!

Hope you are all well?

I had a walk and big chat with my MIL today, some of you who might be on the other thread (TTC 35+) will remember me saying that DH had some surgery as a child for an undescended testicle but didn’t know when it was. I’d read that if things are ‘corrected’ before 18 months then fertility should not be affected later in life so I really had to ask my MIL!
It was an interesting convo...she said he had that part corrected when he was just over 2 years old but then had another op at 5 years old to ‘drain something’ and check for a hernia. So, it doesn’t look great for that particular testicle! Confused She did say that the doc at the time told her that DH would still be able to “fire on one cylinder” which was hilarious for her to quote to me!

He has his SA on Thursday but I’m now fully expecting there to be low count as it seems reasonable to assume that one ‘side’ isn’t working!
I really wish it’d clicked with us back in January when we first saw GP and mentioned it then, but we are now 6 months further down the line (with me obsessively tracking on OPKs and POAS at the right time only to be disappointed). It is what it is though. Maybe he just needs to provide a few ‘samples’ and they can put them together to add volume 🤣

So, that’s where we are at!
AF is due this weekend, while we are at the hotel for our anniversary! I am still clinging onto the hope that SMEP has done the trick and I can get a BFP and buy him a ‘Best Dad’ babygro as it’s our cotton anniversary!!

Fingers, toes and eyes crossed for you all ladies, bring on the BFPs!

notyetamumbuttrying · 28/07/2020 18:15

You defo still are @Hayley19835 especially if you're never late! How long are you going to leave it until you test?

Been waiting for the doctor to call me all day and nothing 😞 they shut at 630 so hoping the call comes in the next 15 mins or that's me calling bk tomorrow to reschedule! Gp's can really be a pain sometimes Confused

OrdinaryLilac · 28/07/2020 18:35

@planbea it's still very early yet. Only 6 weeks. I really don't feel any different to be honest! Don't think it's quite set in still!
I've had a few worries over past couple of weeks with none pregnancy related health issues which then having to take medication freaked me out with finding out we were expecting! But this past weekend and following days have been superb. Other than sore boobs, I have literally no other symptoms. Yet!

Really hoping all of you can join me on this journey, very soon! 😁 Xx

Hayley19835 · 28/07/2020 19:16

@EmeraldLily18 I remember you saying as my OH is the same had a retained testicle and now a low count. We are awaiting his ultrasound and blood results now got an apt on the 18th which right now fees like forever away! Glad you had the chat and got some info hopefully his results are ok 🤞🏻 x

@notyetamumbuttrying well OH wants me to test now but I'm too scared 😬 will probably test at the weekend if it's still a no show xx
