@lucieloos that is what I did last month. I got crazy and started doing several a day too. I have decided not to buy any tests until I'm closer to 10dpo this month.

lucieloos · 26/06/2020 13:38

@kirinm they drive you crazy don't they. I had a couple of awful experiences with early frers recently so I definitely won't be doing those before 11dpo. The cheapy ones didn't show for me with my pregnancies until quite a bit after the frers so I feel like I can do those to satisfy my poas craving but take them with a pinch of salt but obviously if there's a clear bfp on them all the better.

lastditchattempt20 · 26/06/2020 14:51

Have found some (supposedly good) slightly cheaper on Amazon. Still £2 each test but only half the cost of FRER and says they're as sensitive. Fun weekend ahead! 🤦🏼‍♀️

Hayleywoody82 · 26/06/2020 15:08

@lastditchattempt20 when are you testing?
I keep thinking I have tummy ache like AF on way but don't know if its in my head xx

lastditchattempt20 · 26/06/2020 15:12

Prob tomorrow morning. But then always get an evening urge.... 🤦🏼‍♀️

ChicaXS · 26/06/2020 15:29

Good afternoon ladies

How are my sweaty bettys doing? 😁

So some great news - AF HAS FINALLY ARRIVED! On day 2 and start my tamoxifen cycle for ovulation induction which is fantastic! Very excited for this month though feeling not very optimistic as I worked out my dates for my ovulation last cycle and we definitely DTD. So sperm did not meet egg in the end! :(

For everyone in limbo DPO - release the anxiety and enjoy the sunshine! Try and forget everything. Such a great weekend for us to look forward too! How’s everyone doing otherwise? X

Tiletiletile1 · 26/06/2020 17:10

Thank you for the new thread! Need to read back and catch up with you all.

I’ve been TTC for so long now that I spoke to the GP today to start investigations. Got blood tests ordered for Monday. Really don’t know if I’d do IVF as I won’t be eligible on the NHS and not sure I can afford it. But thought I ought to start trying to figure out what’s going on, anyway!

Hope you’re all doing well - will read back now and catch up Smile

Tiletiletile1 · 26/06/2020 18:57

I didn’t read the full threads properly - so sorry if this had already been discussed!

Is anyone trying pre-seed?

FridaKFangirl · 26/06/2020 19:34

I’ve been using pre-seed. Definitely seems to help ‘keep things in place’ longer than usual lube... not been using applicator though... too clinical

FridaKFangirl · 26/06/2020 19:34

Meant to tag you @Tiletiletile1 in the above

FridaKFangirl · 26/06/2020 19:59

@FridaKFangirl

Morning all, Think I said hello *@mouldygrapes*, but in case I didn’t, welcome!

CD6 here so according to the scab ovulation instructions I should start testing tomorrow.

I’m a little worried as I know I must use FMU, but I always have to pee during the night, sometimes twice... joys of cerebral palsy! :)

Will that affect my FMU do you think? Am I better using afternoon when I can hold for 4 hours? The SMEP website seems to suggest maybe...

Hi all,

Posted this earlier this morning, maybe missed... does anyone know if peeing in the night messes up FMU on clearblue digi ovulation tests?

Muda · 26/06/2020 20:06

@Tiletiletile1 we started using pre-seed last month for the first time and I fell pregnant (but then had an early miscarriage) so we’ve continued using it this month, it’s hard to know whether it’s that that’s helped or was just luck. But I don’t think I will stop using it just in case!

Chlo2701 · 26/06/2020 20:06

@FridaKFangirl you just need to make sure that you've not peed 4hours prior to doing the CB. So if you pee at 4/5am then you can't test until 8/9am x

FridaKFangirl · 26/06/2020 20:09

Thank you @Chlo2701! Now I’ve got a plan :)

mouldygrapes · 26/06/2020 20:49

I’ve just ordered some pre-seed and ovulation sticks for next cycle. A lot of my friends have sworn by pre-seed

Tiletiletile1 · 26/06/2020 20:51

I’m now quite torn between trying pre-seed and conceive plus!

Thanks for your feedback, muda, I’m so sorry about your early miscarriage. Fingers crossed for this month!

Good luck, mouldygrapes! Am also going to try one of the two. I will report back!

LT103 · 26/06/2020 20:53

Is preseed only for if you need lube or are there benefits to it?

mouldygrapes · 26/06/2020 21:00

Benefits apparently - I’m not getting it for the lube aspect, but it’s meant to mimic optimal ewcm consistency...

mouldygrapes · 26/06/2020 21:00

Good luck to you too @Tiletiletile1 - do report back

LT103 · 26/06/2020 21:01

Thanks. I’ve learned more from this page than I thought I would!! I’ll keep it in mind if things don’t happen in next month or so

Annna41 · 26/06/2020 22:14

Best of luck to you all testing over the weekend. I don't think I'm going to bother testing again this month unless AF is late.

Ive been using preceed. No luck with it as yet but the reviews are really good so it's worth a try.

Anyone know whats the deal with fertility testing at our age? I know different areas offer different services but are there basic tests the GP will offer?

Tiletiletile1 · 26/06/2020 22:26

Annna41 I had a virtual consultation with my gp today as I have been TTC for 18 months now and am 40. She’s ordered me lots of blood tests - first to be taken between day 2-5 of my cycle, second on day 21. I actually can’t remember what they all are (!) but she also didn’t seem very optimistic they’d show anything because my periods are regular and normal. She said I should think hard about whether I want further exploration or intervention, but - apart from ivf which I wouldn’t be eligible for on the nhs as I already have dc and because of my age - I don’t know what those tests or that intervention would be...

Annna41 · 26/06/2020 22:47

Thanks @tiletiletile1, I think I'll give my GP a call next week and see what they say. I've already got a child too but my DP hasn't so IVF might be an option if we self fund. We've only been trying for 5 cycles so I should probably give it a bit longer before I seriously consider it. I've also had a stressful few months at work (NHS) and I know stress can cause fertility issues.

selina37 · 27/06/2020 08:23

@Annna41 my GP gave me blood tests etc and (I don't know if it's different where you are) referred me to a local private fertility clinic. Under the NHS the clinic is able to offer a scan and the HyCoSy test, which is where they insert dye into your tubes to look for blockages. That's as far a the funding goes.

I initially self referred and it was the clinic who told me if I asked my GP to refer it would be free!

I'm still waiting on the scan then tube test at the moment. I guess after that, intervention is at our expense.

Muda · 27/06/2020 09:25

Morning all,
I am 5 days late for AF arriving and have taken a test every day but they are all negative- so frustrating! Has anyone else been through this?
