Partner got me a nemo charm 😍

claireb707 · 07/07/2020 20:35

Damn pressed send too soon, thanks all...

Am going to try and hold out as long as possible before testing. Just worried I'm going to be disappointed again though

Loll35 · 07/07/2020 20:42

@kwastell oh yes I feel that way, of course I'm happy for them but part of me is wishing it was me or wondering what I'm doing wrong. I try not to let those feelings get the better of me, some days it's easier then others!

@selina37 sorry you're feeling down, I go through the same feeling every month. Have you got a treat on hand to pick you up? Hoping your new cycle is the month you get your bfp.

Loll35 · 07/07/2020 20:56

Hi @EmeraldLily18 well its nice to know I'm not the only one in this situation. I got my bloods done before lockdown and the dr wont take investigations further until OH has had his sperm analysis done. And hes pretty stubborn/embarrassed about things of that nature so actually getting him to go now will be a battle I predict! We are both relatively healthy and iv made more of an effort recently to eat better, reduce alcohol and exercise more as has OH. I'm making more effort to use opks and communicate with OH as that was causing an issue and we wouldn't be dtd at peak times! Thanks for sharing your story and making me feel not so alone in this ttc journey. All the best to you on your journey!

selina37 · 07/07/2020 22:04

@Loll35 do you spot every month? What's it like for you? Mines totally sporadic from about 6dpo... sometimes red... sometimes brown... sometimes after sex... sometimes after going to the loo... disappears before AF 🙄 honestly it's so trying. Constantly googling it!

LT103 · 07/07/2020 23:37

For those who say they spot every month @selina37. Is this all fine? I’ve been worrying because the last 3 cycles I’ve spotted 5 days prior to af. Not a lot but noticeable several times a day when going to toilet. I’ve been on the pill for ages but I’m sure it never happened before. Been off it over 6 months now. I wasn’t sure whether to mention it to doctor or not?? Just seems excessive. My periods are short and light when they come but after googling causes of spotting I feel I’m better to mention it even just to put my mind at rest?

Loll35 · 08/07/2020 07:29

No spotting until a day or two before af. Maybe mention it to your dr @selina37? I had a few cycles were af was unbelievable painful (to the point I would pass out). My dr didn't seem worried about it tho. Since being healthier with my diet and taking the prenatal vitamins they have been better.

selina37 · 08/07/2020 07:34

Morning all 🙂

So SPOTTING....

Mines sporadic and red or brown. Sometimes I get bright red spotting it after a bowel movement and the same during sex (off-putting much). I do have cervical erosion/ectropian though and think my cervix bleeds on contact sometimes ie through sex or rubbing in the vaginal wall during a BM. This only happens in the luteal phase.

Sometimes it's brown spotting bit I wonder if this is fresh blood that's just sat in the cervix/vagina for a little while as opposed to fresh from my uterus.

Sometimes a little brown just appears on wiping.

I wonder whether my stress levels affect the spotting.

ALL doctors have said it's nothing to worry about. Also recently I was told the uterine lining can start to breakdown before your period if you haven't conceived, hence why we believe we're out as soon as seeing it.

However, when I got pregnant with DS 10 years ago I felt a few cramps then had what I thought was my period. I then bled watery red for four days, yet I knew I was pregnant and I was. So I also know it's definitely possible to bleed before a BFP. Sometimes I find it hard to believe now.

That said, I got pregnant straight away after stopping the pill with both my children, and I've been in the pill most of my life so I've never really known my proper cycles.

When I was on the pill I'd get brown spotting nearer the end of the pack; it's as if the pill just managed the spotting (it would have been red without the hormone suppressing my natural cycle).

All in all it's a pain. It wouldn't bother me if I wasn't TTC, except for the fact there's seems to be a danger day once a month where sex will turn into a bloodbath. This though i suspect is the erosion. Though I fully excepted this to happen the other day and actually there was nothing.

I did post a picture of an article I saw (quite a few posts down) about how the drop in oestrogen after ovulation before progesterone rises, and the hormone fluctuations thereafter can cause spotting in the luteal phase. This does make sense to me as mine is somewhat sporadic.

If spotting is only up to a period, it also makes sense that the uterine walls are beginning to break down.

Just my guesswork anyway! Sorry for the lengthy post!

selina37 · 08/07/2020 07:57

You probably should mention it to your doctor if you spot, though.

I've mentioned it every time I've seen one and they all say it's nothing to worry about, plus I've had a few other tests too such as transvaginal scan, smears and a sample of uterine lining taken and blood tests.

Fizzy13 · 08/07/2020 10:44

@kwastell
completely with you. I'm afraid 3 years of trying and I haven't found the answer yet. I'm ok with friends who had their #2 before we started trying (although a little jealous) but the friend who was trying at the same time and chose to tell me she was pregnant the day before our fertility centre apt I still struggle with.
I'm even jealous of those who are happy with their 1 as they have a peace I dont.
Sorry to be more help, but you're not alone! Its something I'm trying to work on.

LT103 · 08/07/2020 13:28

Thanks @selina37 I’ll def speak to doctor. I do have a vague memory of them saying I had cervical erosion before but I never bleed after sex. Really heavy spotting yesterday afternoon and now completely stopped. Faint positive test 2 days ago but negative yesterday and today. My body is a mystery. No idea!!!

kirinm · 08/07/2020 14:53

11dpo and no BFP - I stupidly took a test with the 6/7th wee of the day and was only able to hold for 2 hours beforehand but there's no hint of a line.

The only odd thing this cycle is that I don't seem to be having many AF symptoms. I had a chemical last month and I had lots of AF cramps for days and I would usually have them in a non-pregnant cycle so a bit confused by that. Given the same hormones are involved, surely I would still get cramps and backache?

kirinm · 08/07/2020 14:57

I did get a peak on an OPK but wondering if I didn't ovulate.

Posy1 · 08/07/2020 19:50

@Happyhappy37 they are hormone levels in your blood that test how well your ovaries are working and the quantity/quality of eggs you have left. My GP agreed to check them as we have been trying for a while, but unfortunately it looks like my ovaries arent doing too well. ☹️
Has anyone else had their day 3 bloods checked?

Posy1 · 08/07/2020 19:54

@LT103 re: the spotting, I would mention to your GP. Its probably nothing, but best to get checked out. They should send you for an ultrasound scan and day 21 bloods I would think.

LT103 · 08/07/2020 20:16

@Posy1 thanks. I tried today in my lunch hour but they were closed. I’m going to call tomorrow and request a telephone consult initially and see what they say. I’d rather just know everything is fine.

EJay84 · 08/07/2020 21:32

Hi everyone, can I please join your thread? I'm 35 (36 in Oct) and TTC no 3. Just had Mirena Coil removed a week past on Monday so have no idea how to even begin tracking cycles etc, since I haven't had a period for yrs or one since it was removed. Just DTD pretty much daily for now but will soon get fed up with that lol.

mouldygrapes · 08/07/2020 21:50

Hey @EJay84 - also took out my Mirena recently, was in the same boat with no periods. I had one about 6 weeks after it was removed (think it was removed mid cycle, had some light spotting for about 2 weeks and a period about 4 weeks later). It’s now easier to try to track cycles. I’m sure yours will resume soon

FridaKFangirl · 08/07/2020 21:59

Hi All,

Welcome to all the new ladies!

Not been around much this week our poor cat is pretty sick still and been at the vet since Sunday, likely needs an op on Friday - I'm missing her dreadfully and have been really upset all week. Sad

In other news, I'm 6 days DPO/CD 18 and have had some cramping this evening... almost feels like OV pain... It's surely nothing right? far too early for implantation right... right?? Hmm

selina37 · 08/07/2020 22:30

@FridaKFangirl sorry about your cat, hope she's ok 😿

I had cramping too, DPOs 8, 9 and 10 I think. I usually get a little cramping about a week after ovulation or a week before AF but this was for all three days. If it wasn't for my spotting I'd have my hopes up... x

EJay84 · 08/07/2020 23:47

Thanks @mouldygrapes. Haven't had a period in 9 yrs lol so I have no idea when to expect one. Fingers crossed I don't end up getting one at all. That's the dream lol. DH thinks it's Xmas right now, being allowed near me so regularly x
