@lastditchattempt20 Aww, thank you! A lovely blue line this morning at 14dpo ish, so feeling very grateful and tentatively excited 😊 Crossing everything for a sticky bean. Lots of luck and baby vibes to everyone else waiting to test!

lastditchattempt20 · 04/07/2020 13:49

Ahh @PirateWeasel that's fab! ☺️ post a pic! All fingers crossed for success 🤞🏻

kwastell · 04/07/2020 13:52

Congratulation @PirateWeasel 🎉

LT103 · 04/07/2020 13:53

@PirateWeasel congratulations!!!!!! 🥳🥳

kwastell · 04/07/2020 13:54

I agree having a plan helps. We had a private fertility consultation yesterday. Depending on what they see when they do scans and tests, we're planning to go for ivf. Planning to try for 3 cycles. If it doesn't work, we will then go for adoption.

Homassy · 04/07/2020 14:01

Selfish post about OPK angst. I'm just using the internet cheapens but I'm now day 16 and still nowhere near positive. My cycles were usually 28 at most 30 days. No idea what's going on or how to time DTD. Trying to just keep DTd every couple of days but we're both a bit knackered at the moment. Come on ovulation....

Pirate Weasel congrats

selina37 · 04/07/2020 14:35

@Homassy could it have been really quick and you missed it?

Sleeeeeepy · 04/07/2020 15:18

Congratulations @PirateWeasel !!! That's brilliant news!x

Muda · 04/07/2020 15:20

@PirateWeasel congratulations! Fingers crossed for a sticky bean! X

I’ve decided that this month I’m not going to track ovulation- the plan is to dtd 4 times a week and see what happens.

Lynnysong · 04/07/2020 15:21

@PirateWeasel wow congratulations, that's amazing news x

mouldygrapes · 04/07/2020 15:56

Congrats @PirateWeasel, that’s super news

Homassy · 04/07/2020 16:05

@selina37 it's possible but I was testing twice a day and no more than faint line. Will preserve, it's a bit weird though. Think OPK testing is a dark art :-)

In answer to how long would you try for a sibling upthread, I guess maybe till I'm 41- it's such an individual decision. I must be so hard to make the decision to give up though.

Loladoodle · 04/07/2020 18:40

@PirateWeasel great news! Congrats! 🎉

I might follow suit and not track this month. It’s so much pressure. Would love to try a relaxed month- just not sure my self control will allow it 🤪

FridaKFangirl · 04/07/2020 18:59

Fabulous news @PirateWeasel!

Stressful day here as we had to rush one of our cats 🐈 to the vet. Hopefully will be fine after a scan and some meds.

Not sure I’m really in the mood for our last ‘scheduled’ DTD of the month...

FunTryin41 · 04/07/2020 19:00

@PirateWeasel Congrats!!! So exciting...please do keep us updated :) Flowers

@Homassy do you BBT chart? If not, you may want to check it out. I have found it to be hugely helpful for knowing if I ovulated.

lucieloos · 04/07/2020 20:04

Thanks everybody who replied to me about when is the right time to stop and how to move on.

@Peaceandcalm so sorry to hear about your mmc. It's so hard but I'm glad you got your peak today and it's given you motivation again. I think that's a great idea that you will have a consultation if nothing this month though. I felt like that about wanting to conceive naturally but then after much thought we told ourselves that when our baby was here it really wouldn't matter which way they were conceived and it really doesn't now. Wishing you lots of luck.

@Loladoodle thanks for your messages. They really make a lot of sense. I love my babies to bits and I'm thankful for them everyday but I must try to concentrate on what I have more rather than wishing for another. We really have been so lucky but I guess it just gets a bit difficult when others around you can choose how many they want and when. I need to think of a back up plan too. There's lots of nice things I want to do with the kids and I always had the dream of each school summer holidays taking them away to a different country for 3-4 weeks at a time for them to experience different cultures etc. Might work out pricey but would love to be able to do something like that. We also want to move house within the next 5 years but we would have done that even if a third game along as would need more room. We have 2 cats so definitely no more pets

@kirinm yes it does take over your life. I'm finding that already and I'm only on cycle 3. I pretty much still eat and drink what I want though apart from decaff which I prefer anyway. I'm not cutting wine etc out otherwise that just makes life really miserable.

@PirateWeasel so pleased for your strong blue line! Congratulations I hope everything goes smoothly. Please keep us posted.

@kwastell good luck with the ivf. If there's anything I can help with then please ask. I've come across most situations ivf wise over the years.

@kwastell

I agree having a plan helps. We had a private fertility consultation yesterday. Depending on what they see when they do scans and tests, we're planning to go for ivf. Planning to try for 3 cycles. If it doesn't work, we will then go for adoption.
Hi

Do you need a gp referral for private? And how do you go about finding one?

I think I've mentally ruled out adoption before even looking into it. I went and had a look at the adoption board and it scared me too much so either naturally (ideally) or assisted are our only ways I think

I've had weird stabbing pains around my left hand side all day around my ovary (I'm fairly sure I ovulated last week - temps are certainly hinting I did anyway) so no idea what this could be

FridaKFangirl · 04/07/2020 20:15

Thanks @lucieloos! No rush to repost but next time you do an update I’m on Cycle 2 now. :)

Don’t repost just for me though! I’m wondering if you need to include everyone’s cycle numbers? It’s a lot of updating.

kwastell · 04/07/2020 20:25

@lucieloos thank you for the offer of advice with IVF. Once I've had tests done and have a bit more idea of what's going on will definitely need some help figuring out what to do.

kwastell · 04/07/2020 20:26

@lucieloos on the list, I'm ttc #2. Already have a beautiful DS who's 4. Probably didn't mention when I joined.

kwastell · 04/07/2020 20:29

@claireb707 We went direct to the private fertility centre. Create Fertility based on a recommendation from a friend.

We were referred for investigations on the NHS as we've now had 3 recurrent miscarriages, but decided to go private to try to speed things up.

My husband is very nervous about adoption. If it was down to me we'd have already gone down that route, but obviously can't do something we're not both comfortable with.

He's agreed we will try adoption if ivf isn't successful.

lucieloos · 04/07/2020 20:30

@claireb707 you don't need a gp referral for private. Just have a look at what clinics are close by to you and check out their website and stats etc and give them a ring. The normally have a price list with info about initial consultations.

@FridaKFangirl yes this is true, I find it kind of handy to see how long everyone has been trying for though. I'll keep it going for now. It's doesn't need to be updated all the time can just do it every now and again so we have a rough idea.

@kwastell no problem would be happy to help.

kwastell · 04/07/2020 20:30

@claireb707 any chance it could be implantation?

Chlo2701 · 04/07/2020 20:33

Hi ladies 🙋‍♀️ I'm still around, just lurking in the background, eating my body weight in junk food🐷 have nothing to report hence the quietness as I'm just reaching my peak, so DTD tonight🤞🏻
