@FridaKFangirl

You never know *@LouJ85*! I’m sure I’ve read hear that sperm can swim about waiting for up to 5 days! 😀
Yes I've read this too... Guess I'll ave to just wait and see how strong DP's swimmers are! Is 5 dpo (this weekend) too early to test?? Asking for a friend ... 🤣
Fizzy13 · 02/07/2020 19:04

Can confirm that swimmers can last a while. DS was clearly conceived while I was in a different county from DH (DS is definitely his!)
BFN this evening but no sign of EWCM yet which is odd for me too. Will give it a few more days and then do a morning test if I don't feel any different.
Any suggestions for OPKs? Thinking maybe I should approach this a little more scientifically....

Hayleywoody82 · 02/07/2020 19:15

@lastditchattempt20 im so sorry. Thats just awful. Getting your hopes up. That's really put me off FRER tests.
Big hugs to you.
My AF came full force to. Xx

lastditchattempt20 · 02/07/2020 19:24

@Hayleywoody82 thanks. I think using the FRER that are so super sensitive means you can pick up on any tiny amount on HCG which may not actually indicate a progressing viable pregnancy at that stage. Plus they're expensive! So next time I'm planning to only use less sensitive ones later in cycle.

Hayleywoody82 · 02/07/2020 19:47

@lastditchattempt20 yes sounds right. Positive thinking for next time xx

How many days pre ovulation did you DTD, if you don't mind me asking? Ive been using the Clearblue digital ovulation kits - the ones that show you a smiley face on your most fertile days. However I've just learned that there's a version that shows you 4 fertile days - so just been back on Amazon to order those! Honestly I've spent a bloody fortune testing every days since coming off the pill 3 weeks ago! Getting a tad obsessed... DP thinks I'm nuts 🤣
Hayleywoody82 · 02/07/2020 20:25

@LouJ85 I've just got mine today in the post. Ive got AF atm so not started yet. Im hoping there good.
Not a clue when to start testing as i don't know my cycle as I've only just come of the pill 6th june xx

FridaKFangirl · 02/07/2020 20:28

@lastditchattempt20. Sorry to hear this, fingers crossed for future, sending hugs x

@LouJ85, once you know how long your cycle is you’ll know when to start testing from the CB leaflet. My First natural cycle after coming off the pill in May was 27 days so I started testing on day 7, empty circle, days 8-11 flashing smiley then static smiley yesterday, day 12...

FridaKFangirl · 02/07/2020 20:30

@Hayleywoody82. It’s hard to know until you’ve had the first natural AF. I waited a month to give me a rough idea and only used CBs now I’m on cycle 2

Very similar to me then! I came off the pill 10th June. I waited the 7 day window where I'd have been usually having my withdrawal bleed, and after that I literally tested every day until I got positive ovulation results on 29th & 30th this week. So it was just under 2 weeks of testing. Not the cheapest way, but it meant I could pinpoint my fertile days this cycle without knowing my cycle length. DP and I just randomly DTD in the 2 weeks prior, with one being early hrs Sat morning... so about 2-3 days prior to ovulation according to those tests. We weren't able to again due to work and other stuff getting in the way, so I'm just hoping some of his swimmers were still hanging around on Mon/Tues. Pretty sure I actually ovulated Tues as had sharp ovulation pains that day. But if it's not to be I'll just carry on next month. Once you know your cycle length the leaflet in the ovulation kits will tell you roughly which days to start testing - which is probably an easier method than my approach! Grin

I've just ordered the 4 day flashy smiley one for next month! Grin

Hayleywoody82 · 02/07/2020 20:37

Can k just clarify ladies. Your cycle starts from first day of period right? Xx

Hayleywoody82 · 02/07/2020 20:39

I've bought the conceive plus gels to 🤞🤞

FridaKFangirl · 02/07/2020 20:44

@Hayleywoody82 Yep AF day 1 is cycle day 1

Hayleywoody82 · 02/07/2020 20:52

@FridaKFangirl thankyou. Im 38 you'd think I'd know this 🙈

Sunbird24 · 02/07/2020 21:03

@lastditchattempt20 so sorry to hear you’re out again this month, it did look good for a while, hopefully that was a practice for a really strong one soon.
@Lynnysong glad your donor managed to get round! Must be really frustrating for you when he’s not available at the right time.
Welcome new ladies, good luck with your journeys!

I know it’s completely irrelevant as I’m still waiting for the ivf go-ahead, but I seem to have gone down with ewcm in sympathy. It’s only CD8, and I can’t remember the last time I had it!

FridaKFangirl · 02/07/2020 21:15

I’m 38 too! I’m sure I’ve asked similar questions! 😅

Matilda19 · 02/07/2020 21:46

Awww good luck keep us posted xx

Fizzy13 · 03/07/2020 08:00

@LouJ85
Pretty sure it was 3 days before.
Trying to work out when you ovulate is a bit easier with endometriosis as it hurts!

kwastell · 03/07/2020 09:08

@lastditchattempt20 So sorry to hear that. 😔

kwastell · 03/07/2020 09:12

It looks like I'm about to ovulate after an early miscarriage 2 weeks ago. So it looks like my cycle has recovered quickly. Had the flashing smiley on clear blue for 3 mornings in a row now. This is my first cycle tracking basal temperature, and it looks like it's dropping to indicate I'm about to ovulate. 🤞🤞

Although we've been trying for 2 years, I've tried to avoid tracking in detail as I can get obsessive. Fully into it now 😂

Also got a private fertility consultation this afternoon over Zoom.

kwastell · 03/07/2020 09:13

@Lynnysong Hoping you ovulate after your donor came round.

Lynnysong · 03/07/2020 10:00

I don't think I'm timing this right, going to try to get him round earlier next time. Probably would help as his swimmers should last a few days lol. Lowest temp was the morning of the day I had the peak.

But fingers crossed it was yesterday, I can only do my best with this. I can't try any harder than I am. I did have the slippery cm that day, so hoping my body wouldn't make it if there was no hope lol fx x

selina37 · 03/07/2020 10:48

Hey @Lynnysong trust your body to do the right thing 🙂 I had a 'peak' smiley face two days before I got slippery CM, and a strong peak smiley the morning of slippery too.

I find it really hard not to be completely negative after ovulation, but have to keep trying to think positive as we really can't tell until AF shows. 🤞🏻 xxx

kirinm · 03/07/2020 10:59

I've kind of terrified myself by reading a lot of stats and scare stories about getting pregnant over 40 so I'm probably overthinking things. I'm worried that if I manage to get pregnant it'll end up in multiple miscarriages or chemicals like last month. I'm just wondering whether implanting early say, 6dpo is a bad thing? Is the womb lining thick enough?
