@Newbie0818 I’ve had EWCM for last 3days now but had it earlier in the month too.

Newbie0818 · 24/09/2020 06:40

@Suki2020 oh that's good, probably your body tried to ovulate and failed earlier, let's hope this is it 🤞🏼 x

SarahTTC2020 · 24/09/2020 10:59

@Suki2020 hopefully you're having a another go at ov 🤞

I'm 9dpo and I couldn't help but pee on an IC 🤣 it's says it's 10ui but I'm not convinced. I thought I could spy the faintest of lines but I think it's wishful thinking and my brain tricking me because it knows where the line would be 😆 Still, only having the one coffee today just in case.
I've booked in for Day 21 bloods tomorrow so 🤞 DH hasn't had any letter or anything about his SA

duckii · 25/09/2020 10:35

I'm the same as you @Suki2020 cd46, no sign or feeling of AF coming. I think @Newbie0818 may right but I have ran out of ovulation sticks so not sure if I'm ovulating again.

SarahTTC2020 · 25/09/2020 13:58

@duckii it's a horrible feeling isn't it. I got to day 52 last cycle before AF, think I just didn't ovulate.
Then I think my current cycle will be much shorter, as I got my peak on cd14 with ewcm , so I'm now 10dpo ... Got an absolute squinter on an IC today not even sure if I was imagining it so might cave and do a frer in the morning

xoJellyBean · 25/09/2020 18:51

@xoJellyBean I've never temped so I'm.not really sure how they're supposed to look I'm afraid!

Suki2020 · 26/09/2020 09:21

@xoJellyBean your temps look ok to me

Suki2020 · 26/09/2020 09:23

I’ve had a positive OPK’s for 3days and lots of EWCM, but no temp rise. What is going on?

Well I ovulated on CD15 this cycle, so earlier than other cycles... And I'm 11dpo and this has happened ☺️🙏 just terrified now that it won't be sticky but I guess that's a normal feeling

hollywhooo · 26/09/2020 13:31

Woohoooooo congratulations @SarahTTC2020

Elsie2021 · 26/09/2020 15:10

Congratulations @SarahTTC2020. That’s amazing news!

I have been a long term lurker on this thread.

I came off the pill 7 months ago now. I didn’t track straight away but from when I started I had a 28 day cycle, then a 35 day cycle and then last two have been 41/42 day cycles. So I was worried they were getting longer.

Last cycle I tracked temperature and did OPKs which both correlated to confirm ovulation on around CD32 and I then came on 11 day’s later.

I was pleased that I ovulated and strangely pleased that although still long it was a similar length to the one before. However I still really wanted them to be shorter!

However I was speaking to my mum last night who had no trouble having two children (fell first month TTC and third month) and she said her cycles were always 6 weeks long.

Do you know if long cycles can run in the family?

Many thanks everyone. And baby dust to all!!

Neurotic90 · 26/09/2020 15:39

Just catching up, been super busy with work.

Amazing, congratulations @SarahTTC2020!

I'm on CD15, took Soy this month and just had a peak OPK! I'll see what my temps do over the next 4-5 days but hoping for a much more regular cycle this time round.

SarahTTC2020 · 26/09/2020 18:09

Thank you everyone! Not sure if it was just a fluke ovulating so early but it was welcomed after a 52 day cycle last time.

I think they can run in families. My mum and aunty were irregular, my mum took 6 months to conceive but my aunty was 6 months pregnant before she found out as she was so irregular

Newbie0818 · 26/09/2020 20:41

@Suki2020 hmm not sure love, perhaps it's just taking a while for progesterone to fully kick in?

@SarahTTC2020 omg congratulations! Did you do anything different this month?

@Elsie2021 hi :) not sure about long cycles in general, but I know underlying causes can possibly. Eg I have pcos which causes my random and longer cycles, and I found out my mum, aunt and nan also have it.

@Neurotic90 can you tell me a bit about soy? Any ideas if it's useful for pcos?

xoJellyBean · 26/09/2020 22:19

I'm cd11 and I feel like im ovulating 🤯 have no OPKs to check but I've got ewcm, slight cramps and tingly nipples 😂😂 also dtd a lot more than normal at this time of my cycle! Really hoping our thread gets luckier, so many girls getting their bfps now🥰

OP posts:
SarahTTC2020 · 27/09/2020 08:51

@Newbie0818 only thing I can think of is getting DH to DTD when I noticed ewcm, rather than waiting for my OPKs to get stronger.
So DTD once then, and once the morning after peak and that was it as got distracted going away for a weekend.
I take folic acid and vit d. And had lost 7lb since CD1, I'm still obese officially but was good to cut down on drink and shift a few lb

Neurotic90 · 27/09/2020 10:13

@Newbie0818 I'd read about it on here and thought it was worth a shot given how long my cycles were. It's meant to work similarly to Clomid so I imagine would be ideal for PCOS sufferers. I got mine from Nature's Best. I'll see if I can find the post I'd read and paste it Smile

Neurotic90 · 27/09/2020 10:20

You take Soy Isoflavones, like Clomid, on either CD 1-5 , 2-6, 3-7 , 4-8 or 5-9.
If you take soy Isoflavones during the later time bracket, for example CD5-9, you shall strengthen the egg that has already started growing producing a healthier egg. The earlier in your cycle you take It, the higher your chance of releasing multiple eggs but these eggs will not be as mature as the eggs grown from taking Soya later.
A lot of women will choose the middle cycle (3 -7) allowing time for a strong and healthy egg to develop without erasing the chance of a second egg being developed and released.

1-5 = you produce more eggs, and ovulate sooner, with a stronger ovulation.

2-6 = you produce more eggs that usual, but not as many as taking it 1-5. Eggs may be more mature, and ovulation will be slightly more strong than 1-5.

3-7 = The best of both worlds, a few more eggs, and all eggs will be strong & mature, and ovulation will be alot stronger than 1-5.

4-8 = No more eggs will be produced, but the ones already there, will be matured alot more than usual, and ovulation will be very strong. Ovulation may only be brought forward a teeny bit.

5-9 = You'll have one very mature strong egg, from the ones you already produced on your own. Ovulation will either happen when it usually does, or a few days later, but your egg will be of great quality.

DOSE?
The dose is really down to you but you should always use the lowest amount that works for you.
With Clomid the starting dose is 100mg. Soya Isoflavones are said to be half the strength of Clomid, so it makes sense for the starting dose to be 100mg.
The trouble with 100mg of soya is that the capsules tend to come as 40mg. So you have a choice of starting at 80mg.
Some women change the dose on different days. So they may start at 120mg for the first 3 days then give an extra boost for the last 2 days with 160mg.

As I have said though, use the lowest dose possible for yourself. If you ovulate using 120mg/day stick to that for a few cycles. GIVE IT A CHANCE. It is said that it takes 3months to get the full benefits of what you are taking. NEVER EXCEED 200mg/day.

Neurotic90 · 27/09/2020 10:24

I took it CD1-5 as I figured that gave me the best chance of bringing ovulation forward/shortening my cycle plus I'm still relatively young so hopefully ok egg quality wise. I took 100g on day 1, 150g day 2 and 3, and 200g on day 4 and 5. I didn't have any side effects but have read a lot of people experience really bad headaches, so take it at night to hopefully sleep through any.

duckii · 28/09/2020 08:23

Congratulations @SarahTTC2020 so happy for you!

@Neurotic90 welcome! I did soy last month but now I'm 10 days late, on cd 48. Looks likes it's an extra long cycle for me.. don't know if it was the soy or not. Hope it works for you, I did 3-7 but now thinking 1-5 would have been better!

Neurotic90 · 28/09/2020 09:30

@duckii Oh no! Hopefully its not the soy, are you thinking of trying it again? My temps don't show ovulation yet, but this is my first month tracking it so not sure if its just slow to rise. I had my peak OPK on Saturday, then woke up early Sunday morning feeling quite crampy on my right side and that was on and off until early evening yesterday. Going to keep using the OPKs in case I have multiple peaks and the cramp was in my head because I'm willing the soy to work!
