Morning all,

Can I please join? Been TTC, 1st baby, since August and AF has just made another appearance. It is still early days and trying to stay positive and doing all I can with food, exercise, ovulation sticks and conceive plus lubricant (which we started last month). I thought I would be all calm, cool and laid back about it but I appear to be the opposite lol. It is easier said then done. I am putting on a different head this time round though, being more relaxed and not putting so much pressure on myself.

Fingers crossed for you all x

orangeloo · 10/11/2020 09:02

Welcome @Labell22 it gets that way really quickly unfortunately. Hopefully it will be your time soon.

@XjustagirlX I've had acupuncture it did relax me but did nothing else. so decided it wasn't for me as it's a really expensive way to relax. Others swear by it though. I would probably have a couple of sessions again around IVF. Good you got some answers and progesterone.

Labell22 · 10/11/2020 09:13

Thanks @orangeloo :) I do feel a bit more positive and hopeful this time round, I don't know where that that has come from but I am going with it.

XjustagirlX · 10/11/2020 09:36

@Lottiepink sorry i meant I have had two separate acupuncture appointments with two different people. But I felt like both of them were inconsistent with what they were saying. The first one wasn’t really listening to what I was saying and he said I needed more ‘heat’.

The second one said I had too much ‘heat’. I asked what he meant by heat as in is acupuncture heat the same as the normal use of the word heat. He started panicking and couldn’t answer.

I’ve very open minded about it but my scientific mind cant accept that the acupuncturists can’t explain it to me.

I think it probably works as a form of relaxation. Bit I think I would prefer a massage.

It doesn’t look like there is a treatment to help with lining. I’m taking more supplements now after I read things online. One thing that is common with people with thin lining is a long term use of taking the pill. I took the pill for 11 years so that’s interesting and frustrating.

Annny27 · 10/11/2020 09:53

Morning ladies, 12dpo and had some brown spotting so having one of those fed up days 😭😭😭 i hate this all so much, why can't I just get pregnant :( will feel sorry for myself for the day and probably till AF arrives. Some months hit harder than others!

@Lozzlepop thats interesting- it must be quite hard work nearing Christmas time with everyone ordering like crazy!!! And great news about trying clomid and or IVF. Fingers crossed this works for you 🙏 😊

@lottiepink i got progesterone prescribed by a private fertilitt doctor, the nhs dont often prescribe it unless its for recurrent miscarriage or ivf i think! But its worth a short. Cost about 100 for 4 months supply

@XjustagirlX apparently keeping your feet warm is good for uterus heat! Thats what I have heard anyway.

Will they do anything to unblock your right tube?

@kiza yes totally its so unfair that its such a long wait for us all :( I feel a bit embarrassed when people IRL ask me as it feels like a bit of a failure not being able to get pregnant :( when its totally out of my control obviously!

@whatsthecraic91 amazing! Yes I imagine you have the pregnant woman waddle walk now haha!

@orangeloo oh wow! Thats good that they extended the furlough :) do you think you will be going back in December when this lockdown ends?

XjustagirlX · 10/11/2020 10:34

@Lottiepink I got progesterone from my nhs consultant after I had my hycosy done. But I had to ask for it. He said most doctors wouldn’t prescribe it though.

@Annny27 that’s interesting about cold feet. I always have cold feet. I’m going to go and put them on a hot water bottle now. I’m having a HSG? The one where they put a camera up to see what’s wrong with the right side.

Annny27 · 10/11/2020 14:19

@XjustagirlX yep during my tww I am often with a hot water bottle on my feet haha! That or a nice brisk walk gets my feet warm 🥰

Lottiepink · 12/11/2020 09:06

Welcome @Labell22 😊

@XjustagirlX I don't know what I was thinking, my daft mind thinking there was 2 of them at the same time 🙈😂
It's awful though when you get conflicting advice, so frustrating! I actually wonder if my lower progesterone levels affects my lining, more so in the way of my periods are shorter than they used to be, and not as heavy.
What supplements are you taking if you don't mind me asking? I also was on the pill for around 11 years too.

@Annny27 hope you are ok ☹️
I did a little bit of research and seen the cream. I have heard some people on here tried that in the past, can't remember who..
I just don't know whether my fertility consultant will be annoyed if I take something like that or not 🙈

That's also interesting about your feet, I can't stand my feet being too hot, but maybe it's worth a shot 😂

XjustagirlX · 12/11/2020 09:20

@Lottiepink I’m taking pregnacare conception, 5mg folic acid, vitamin D and omega 3. Once I next get a positive test I will take progesterone and aspirin as well.

I do think there is something in long term use of the pill. Which actually really annoys me the more I think about it. I specifically asked the doctor if it would affect my fertility as it concerned me at the time and was told absolutely not. If it’s true I hope it comes out in the future.

Annny27 · 13/11/2020 05:28

Morning! AF has arrived so onto the next cycle 😶😶

@XjustagirlX I usually take the seven seas pre conception pills but have bought the pregnecare ones for rhis month as it was on offer.

I had my folic acid levels checked as part of normal blood test and they were above average so not sure whether I would benefit from a higher folic acid result

@lottiepink I tend to be much more upset around 12dpo when I KNOW AF is on the way vs when she actually arrives. You could try agnus castus which is supposed to be a natural progesterone effect....but I would ask fir a repeat 7dpo blood test to see if your low progesterone was just a one off or whether its still the case

Kiza · 13/11/2020 08:37

If any of you ladies would like Angus cactus I've got a whole bottle I'm happy to post to you? I bought it, opened it, got a bit worried so asked my consultant if it was safe to take and she talked me out of it. 🤦🏼‍♀️ it's been sitting in my cupboard for the last 6 months. Its been opened but not used.

Jsmurph · 13/11/2020 08:42

Hi! This is my first month ttc and I’m already driving myself mad trying to second guess! Just over a week po and still a week or so to go til my period. But I feel like my boobs are getting bigger, I’m feeling hornier than usual (sorry if this is too much info!) and I have had some mild cramps. There is every chance my hopeful brain is imaging it, but could I be feeling the signs this soon??

Lozzlepop · 13/11/2020 12:07

Morning all!

@XjustagirlX glad to hear the HYCOSY wasn't sore, I found the speculum the worst bit! I'd be really interested to try acupuncture. Thats good that he's given you the progesterone. Are you still TTC just now or holding off until your testing is complete?

@Lottiepink Oh wow thats really good, I just dont know where to start with these sorts of things 😬The appointment to get the ball rolling is on our 4 year anniversary- not really how I imagined we would be spending it lol! Yes its a years wait here hence why we are getting the ball rolling now so we can try the Clomid after the wedding and hopefully that will work and if not we have the IVF to fall back on.

@Annny27 Sorry to hear AF arrived hun! Oh really thats so interesting? I never wear socks at home as I hate my feet being too warm 🙈It has been pretty busy and I have been walking about 13k per day- a right shock to the system. I have actually just been given a conditional offer of a role with HMRC and I have got the day off as there was a fire at Amazon last night, luckily everyone got out safely!

So the nurse has suggested getting my progesterone and thyroid checked before we start trying again- swear we are going round in blooming circles here 🙈then we will try the Clomid and Progesterone if I get pregnant again- this should allow a good few month trying before the IVF referral. Think I will start taking folic acid and vitamin d from spring of next year, does everyone take a combined or separate supplement?

XjustagirlX · 13/11/2020 12:22

@Lozzlepop well he couldn’t get the first tube in so he got a smaller one. I thought why not use the smaller one as standard haha.

We are still TTC as the recurrent miscarrriage tests have been ‘paused’ with no date in sight. I’ve just been told they expect it to be early next year but it is just paused until a man high up in the nhs decides its an essential service!

I find the number of tests in the nhs really badly organised. Every time you see a consultant all the blood tests and scans need to be redone. I can’t help but think of the waste. Why can’t all tests be done in one go and then a treatment plan sorted. It’s just so wasteful and holds everything up.

XjustagirlX · 13/11/2020 12:27

@Annny27 sorry AF arrived. It’s so frustrating.

Im on 7dpo today. I was going to test on Sunday. I’m going to do daily tests coz the moment I get a positive I need to start the progesterone and aspirin.

For the last couple of days I have constantly needed a wee and I woke up yesterday feeling really sick 🤢 so thought I might be pregnant. But today I felt fine which is annoying.

XjustagirlX · 16/11/2020 10:55

Im so confused. Last night I noticed I had some watery blood. I was on 9dpo yesterday which is far too early for AF spotting to arrive.

So either it’s implantation bleeding (fingers crossed) or I got my ovulation day wrong by about 3 days. However my temps don’t look like I ovulated 3 days earlier. I’ve attached my graph.

What do you think?

TTC first baby thread 25
XjustagirlX · 16/11/2020 10:56

I did a test this morning but it was negative.

Kiza · 16/11/2020 16:59

@Annny27 sorry AF arrived for you, doesn't get any easier as each month passes.

@Lozzlepop I take a combined supp with a whole host of others (PGG, Ubiquinol, royal jelly etc) although none of them have got me preggers yet I still have that thought of 'maybe it would be worse if I didn't take them'? 🤔

@XjustagirlX totally agree with NHS and tests, seems so drawn out and unorganised. Looks like you O Cd15?

XjustagirlX · 18/11/2020 12:47

Im on 12dpo today. Spotting hasn’t appeared today. Just a brown tinge when I wipe. Bbt is still high. I’ve not tested today as I’m worried it will upset me. AF is due on Friday.

Im frustrated with my acupuncturist. Yesterday he looked at my chart and just said well you are on day 28 of your cycle so it’s looking good as period will he due tomorrow. We all know a 28 cycle means nothing.

He also said implantation bleeding is usually bright red and stringy. Google disagrees.

My gut is just telling me that he doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

How is everyone doing?

Annny27 · 19/11/2020 10:15

Morning :) cd7 so about to start fertilr week soon hopefully. Feeling meh about it all tbh haha! 12 months no result after miscarriage seems so weird after conceiving after 4 months first time. I know 12 months can be normal but just feels so long coupled with the 18 months since we first started

@XjustagirlX have you tested now? No spotting sounds promissing!

@kiza some months I take it on the chin, other times I break down and cry! This month was a crying month 😭 is IVF still on track for next month? :D so exciting

@Lozzlepop congrats on the new job! That sounds exciting :D bit less manic after the amazon warehouse!

Will you be potentially trying clomid after the wedding then?

XjustagirlX · 19/11/2020 11:17

Last night I put in a progesterone pessiary. But this morning my bbt dropped. I’m so sad because I always get pregnant on my left side and this month it looks like I’m out.

I also started spotting from 9dpo which I have never done. Do you think acupuncture has messed up my cycles?

Annny27 · 22/11/2020 09:42

Sorry that it was bfn :( @XjustagirlX has AF arrived now?

I am not sure about accupuncture messing up cycles but perhaps it was a chemical if you had the spotting, then nothing, then but drop :/

OP posts:
XjustagirlX · 22/11/2020 09:56

@Annny27 so I’ve just had some bright red blood so I think it’s AF. I’ve not a positive all cycle. I am really concerned though because all year I have always got pregnant in my left side. But this time I haven’t.

I started acupuncture this cycle and now my cycle is messed up and I’ve not had a positive when I usually do on my left side. I usually spot on 12dpo for two days before AF. This cycle I spotted brown watery on 9dpo for 4 days. Had 3 days of nothing and no AF. AF is 2 dats late.

I don’t know whether I should cancel acupuncture or stick with it?

Annny27 · 23/11/2020 10:44

@XjustagirlX I wouldnt be too worried about not getting pregnant this month, its a 30% chance every month so doesn't mena something is wrong just because you didn't get pregnant from your good ovary

I dont know much about accupuncture tbh and how it can affect cycles but it might be worth having a month off and seeing if things go back to normal

OP posts:
Kiza · 23/11/2020 11:21

@XjustagirlX sorry to hear AF has arrived for you. I've had Accupuncture twice with 2 different people and found both times really helped regulate my cycles so not sure why it would I regulate yours. I did notice the first month of Accupuncture I ovulated much earlier but I trusted in the process that it was 'resetting' my cycle and for the following months it made me very regular.
Would there be anything else in your life that could be doing that. Although if you're not connecting with your practitioner perhaps go to a different one?
