I think I’m stressing with the progesterone because I’m definitely ovulating and the above 30 limit confirms that. It seems like they just test progesterone to see if I’m ovulating and nothing further.

I’m worried that when I’m pregnant I don’t actually produce enough to support a pregnancy and I was hoping progesterone tablets would help that for the next time I’m pregnant. I spot very early with all my miscarriages.

Im going to ask the consultant tomorrow and I’ll also ask my GP. Im hoping that someone will agree that there is no harm in trying the tablets.

Annoyingly once I finally get seen by the RM unit and NK cells private Tests next year, they will probably give it me anyway. But I’d like to try the progesterone in the mean time.

I don’t think it’s something you can buy online is it?

XjustagirlX · 29/10/2020 18:44

@Kiza glad your IVF is progressing. I think the worse thing is the waiting around and feeling like things aren’t progressing.

@Annny27 how did you manage to get hold of your progesterone tablets?

@orangeloo I’ve bought some Nurofen that contains codeine so I hope that helps.

Narwhal88 · 29/10/2020 21:40

@XjustagirlX I'm now wondering the same as you regarding progesterone, mine was 38 which I was told was normal as well but it does seem lower than others. I also spot before AF. Progesterone tablets are only available on prescription. You can get a cream online though.
I had my HSG in September and it was uncomfortable getting the speculum in but no pain at all and no cramps either. I think everyone is different. I took painkillers beforehand.

@Kiza yay glad you have finally had progress with the IVF, not long to go!

Polpol22 · 29/10/2020 21:55

Hi all!

Hope you don’t mind me jumping on this thread. I’m 26 TTC. I’m new to all this so will take me a while to get used to all the acronyms.

We’ve been trying for four months now. Anyone have any unusual tips?

Annny27 · 05/11/2020 10:01

I typed a massive message and then accidently pressed back! Hate it when that happens haha. I am around 6 or 7dpo today I think - maybe 5 or 6 dpo, not sure! Not checking my bloody tracker app

@kiza great news about ivf dates :) will they collect eggs and transfer the same cycle or will they do a frozen transfer?

@orangeloo totally, i feel the same and am not so bothered about my apotting now as I conceived last year even though the previous months I had spotting. It didn't start till 12dpo last month so that I can handle

@XjustagirlX I saw a private gynecologist/ fertility specialist who prescribed the progesterone. I am not taking it anymore though, will see how I get on for a few months without it

Hi ladies, hope you're well. Sorry I've been a bit MIA this month. Was finding the stress of TTC a bit much and wanted to try and distract myself. Well, 10DPO and just tested. BFP on 2x FRER and even says 'Pregnant' on a digital. Feels slightly surreal. Here's hoping for some other BFP's this month!

Kiza · 05/11/2020 17:49

@Annny27 I'm not at risk of OHSS so should all be done in the same cycle 😊

@annahannah congratulations! Time out is always good and often needed when it's been a long journey.

@XjustagirlX how was your hycosy?

@orangeloo how did your consultant appointment go?

orangeloo · 05/11/2020 18:31

Congrats @annahannah!!!

@Kiza it was okay but I found it so frustrating he really just told me hormone tests and semen analysis need to be redone as they were a year and a half ago and did I want IUI or IVF. The nurse consult in September said they wouldn't want to repeat tests. I could have got all of those done in this time and said to her I want IVF. So I feel I've wasted two months really. This is IVF with the nhs and their slow processes I guess. I shouldn't moan as I know so many couples don't get this chance it's just in infertility no one wants to waste their precious time.

I'm glad your getting close and treatment in sight.
They did say the wait time to start is 8 weeks. I don't really know when the 8 weeks is from but that sounds okay. I just so want to get going ASAP.

Kiza · 05/11/2020 18:54

@orangeloo sorry to hear that, I totally feel your frustration with the NHS! The 8 week wait time is from when the IVF referral is put in so if you ask are they a) putting the ivf referral in now and doing the retests quickly during that 8 week period or b) do the retests then put the IVF referral in.
8 week turnaround from referral is pretty good, some CCG's are around 12-16 weeks.

orangeloo · 06/11/2020 13:06

@Kiza ah I see yes 8 weeks is pretty good and I will ask and get tests done soon as possible. The impatience is so real for me haha I think I'm reallly feeling it too as I really need the round done by March when DP will start working abroad again on and off will make planning so hard so that's adding to my anxiety.

Kiza · 06/11/2020 16:15

Just had our treatment planning option, she queried why we weren't having ICSI given DP low morphology as we are only funded for IVF, we said we didn't know as we assumed.
She hung up the call and phoned the director who agreed to ICSI, got to have some STI bloods as ours are over a year old. She will post out the blood forms and numerous consent forms and then we're good to go for my next cycle which I think will be just before Xmas.

Bit overwhelmed by the amount of injections and scans and how I'm going to fit it all in with work but also so excited that we are finally here!!

whatsthecraic91 · 06/11/2020 21:08

@Kiza oh I am so happy for you! I'm sure you can't wait to get started 🙂

I always read what's happening with you ladies and always have my fingers crossed for you all 🤞🏼xx

Kiza · 07/11/2020 08:20

@whatsthecraic91 thank you, I really am. She asked if we had been given a reason why we are not yet pregnant and we explain about the morphology and my AMH at 5.9, she said those results are not major and shouldn't really be stopping us so even though we are having ICSI she's listed us as unexplained. It gives me hope that IVF will work for us 🤞🏼
How are you getting on?

Annny27 · 08/11/2020 10:10

Morning :) I am 9 or 10dpo, no symptoms as usual haha!

@kiza our consultant said the same, no reason why we wouldn't have conceived. Its kind of infuriating like whyyyyy havent we then haha! And that's great that they can do fresh transfer and that you get the icsi :D :D

@whatsthecraic91 hope you and baby are doing well! Only a month or two for you now :D

@orangeloo it seems to take so long with the repeating of tests and everything!! When did you start ttc?

OP posts:
orangeloo · 08/11/2020 13:41

That's brill news @Kiza really happy for you it's so close in sight!

@Annny27 it's so frustrating! especially when Their processes end up wasting time needlessly! We've been ttc since December 2018. Feels like a lot longer to be honest. Think because it's something I've been seriously thinking about and wanting for about 5 years

Lozzlepop · 08/11/2020 19:21

Hi guys,

Long time no speak, how are we all doing?? X

Lottiepink · 09/11/2020 08:21

Morning everyone,

Hope you are all well.

Not going to lie, I've taken a back seat as I'm just getting annoyed more, each month that goes by 😕

Our next appointment has been postponed again due to the virus so we aren't getting seen until the new year now ☹️

I went for a treatment before the lock down with a holistic therapist, and I didn't say anything at the point about Ttc but she told me that my hormones are all out of sync, and that I should have reiki and reflexology to help it, and she said it would have a positive impact on my reproductive organs, I don't know if I feel good or bad about it to be honest. All my tests were fine, and classed as normal, but I seen you all posted about your progesterone tests a few weeks ago, my level on that was only 27, maybe that's too low (even though it's classed as normal?)

Going to book in for a treatment again for December, may as well give it a try!

Currently on CD7, and wondering what else I can possibly try this month 😂 on a funny note, someone I know who is also ttc with no joy, said a friend of hers recommended using the Turkey baster method and that she swears by it, the pair of us haven't ruled it out, I may have to give it a go 🙈😂 anyone tried it before?? 😬

Annny27 · 09/11/2020 08:39

Morning! Was up coughing in the night.....going to monitor is as I think it was just from my cold and mucus irritating my throat (gross sorry) as opposed to corona!

@lottiepink it is a little on the low side ebut I have a girl on another thread who conceived without aids with a 26 level so not completely rules out! Maybe progesterone suppositories would help.

I have once used to whole syringe method when I had thrush over my fertile window and I was determined not to miss out but it was too painful to actually dtd! Tbh it took some of the pressure off haha. Didn't workto get me pregnant but then again neither has sex 😂

@orangeloo yeah i have wanted babies for so long so it does feel like a lifetime too! We started end of May 2019 so not too far behind you

@Lozzlepop morning lovely! How is the job situation now? We are all in lockdown down here- what about where you live?

Kiza · 09/11/2020 08:52

@orangeloo @Annny27 @Lottiepink @Lozzlepop I think all of us old timers either have been or still currently in the 'desperate to get pregnant' group. It just seems so unfair how it's so easy for some people and yet here's us lot, having been at it for a couple of years and still not bouncing baby.
Another women at work has just become pregnant and is moaning how nauseous she feels, what I would give to have that! I'd be so grateful for each ache and pain as it would mean I have a beautiful baby growing inside of me.
I really hope it works for all of us, we all deserve it and have so much love to give our future babies.

orangeloo · 09/11/2020 09:19

@Lottiepink I bought the ferti-Lily soft cup which is similar concept I guess. it's designed to keep sperm closer to the cervix after sex. Other people swear by the stork. It's worth a go like anything but I think the success of them depends on how long you've been trying, because these fertile people that use them would probably get pregnant pretty quick anyway.

@Kiza me too anyone that moans about pregnancy or being a mum etc enrage me. Also people who are pregnant and have a real preference over the gender and even disappointment when they find out... unbelievable! Really makes me want to explain to them how lucky they are as they clearly don't know.

So last week I went back to work only to be re-furloughed HmmSmile not complaining but it is crazy.

Lozzlepop · 09/11/2020 09:22

Morning all,

@Lottiepink its so frustrating when things are cancelled/pushed back due to the virus. I am really interested in trying something holistic and see what they say ❤️was it acupuncture you went for?

@Annny27 I have taken on a temp role at the Amazon warehouse, its long hours but the pay is ok and its getting me out the house- I do a Tuesday- Friday so get 3 days off which is nice ☺️ Its a tiered system up here so we are in tier 2 but might be going up to tier 3 tomorrow so more thing will be closed etc- thankfully going to the hairdressers today so thats something lol!

@Kiza one of my friends just announced she's pregnant it actually hit me really hard as she's always said she doesn't want kids and although I am so happy for them I just feel its so unfair 😢

whatsthecraic91 · 09/11/2020 13:23

@Kiza @Annny27 I'm doing great thank you! 32+2, countdown is on now! Very big now, not sleeping, can't walk far, can't sit for long without my feet dying but I will take it 😂

All you ladies keep your heads up it will happen for you 🤞🏼 this thread is definitely due a BFP very soon 🙂x

Lozzlepop · 09/11/2020 14:47

@whatsthecraic91thats fantastic news- that has really flown in (although you might not feel the same lol)

I have just been on the phone with the fertility nurse so have started the ball rolling for our IVF referral. We are going to try the Clomid option first and hopefully that will help us get our longed for little one. I feel I owe it another couple of shots on this journey before giving up all hope ❤️

XjustagirlX · 09/11/2020 14:55

So I had my hycosy. It wasn’t that painful for me and the doctor and nurse were great and talked me through everything so I was prepared.

My progesterone was 65 from my last blood test so that’s a relief. However he did say that my lining was only 3mm on CD 10 and it should be at least 7mm. I got really stressed by this as he said they won’t even do ivf of the lining is below 6mm. So I cake away thinking ivf won’t even work for us.

He also confirmed my right tube is partially blocked. Which explains why I never get pregnant every other month. I’m on the waiting list for the camera procedure to see why it’s blocked.

He gave me aspirin and progesterone for the next time I get pregnant.

Also on the scan he said I was ovulating on my left side and there were two developed eggs so probably two will he released this cycle.

I’m 3dpo today and will take the progesterone and aspirin if I get a positive test.

I also had some accupuncture. It was ok but I can’t move the feeling like I am being scammed. I saw two different people but both of them were contradicting themselves when I was asking questions. Has anyone tried it?

Lottiepink · 10/11/2020 08:30

@Annny27 hope you are feeling better!
Yeh I didn't even know that it seemed low until now, why would the consultant not flag that up 😕 the suppositories, can you buy them online or do you need to get them from your doctor please?
Haha I may have to give it a try this cycle, DH will be mortified 😂

@Kiza yep it is so frustrating isn't it, I read back though, I am so happy you are getting close though, hopefully won't be too much longer 😊

@orangeloo I'll maybe have a google of that and read some reviews. I know it's so annoying how some people just find it so easy 😭

@Lozzlepop I hadn't really thought of it to be honest, I just decided to get myself a massage, and from when she started she told me I needed reiki and reflexology as my hormones were out of sync and picked up on lots of things, so she changed my treatment whilst I was there! At this point, for me it's worth a shot to be honest 😊
Pleased you have got a job to keep you going, I bet it's mega busy! Such a strange time at the moment though.
Amazing regarding the referral, have they told you a timescale?

@whatsthecraic91 so happy for you, and pleased to hear you are well ☺️

@XjustagirlX great news about the progesterone, is there anything you can do to increase the lining? The good thing is that you have some answers about your right tube etc, hopefully you don't have to wait to long to get your next app.
That's strange that there was 2'people performing the acupuncture, I haven't tried it to comment unfortunately. The only thing I have heard is that it's supposed to be really good when ttc. Was that your first session?
