May I join you? I am new to all this and a bit confused. I may need some advice!

I’m 36, partner is nearly 40. TTC our first. Ambivalent about kids for years but now a bit worried that we might be leaving it too late.

I’ve had back to back Mirenas for 13 years so haven’t had periods but have had obvious EWCM.

I had my coil taken out on the 19th May, had EWCM around 9th/10th June and had sex sometime that week.
So I have no idea when to expect my first period (I guess around now?)
It seems unlikely that I would have built up enough endometrium in a few weeks after years of Mirena use to support even if we did manage to conceive first time (again, less likely) but I don’t feel particularly pre-menstrual.
Can’t tell whether I’m working myself up with symptom spotting. My boobs are only a bit sore but my armpits are really sore on both sides. I feel slightly nauseous but not vomited.

I’ve only done standard tests but they’re negative. Should I get a FRER?
Sorry for being a clueless newbie. I did start taking folic acid and vit D a few months ago

LT103 · 24/06/2020 09:59

@Loladoodle I can relate. I poas 3 times yest with opk....all negative. I can only imagine what I’m going to be like trying to hold off in 2ww 🤦🏻‍♀️😂
strip is a little darker this morning tho not positive yet so I’ll prob do the same today and tomorrow 😂

ChicaXS · 24/06/2020 10:02

Hey @lucieloos I’m so glad your hubby did a UTurn! Glad it worked out for you!
@Loladoodle @Happyhappy37 POAS addiction is fun! I piss on them just for the fun of it and feel a bit like a lab scientist examining science and evidence. All for fun role play for 4.99 off Amazon :D

Welcome @mouldygrapes ! You’ve joined an amazing group! Honestly I am not familiar with the Mirena however I do know it usually takes several cycles for your period to regulate and your hormones will be all over the place for a while. I would get a fertility check to check your lining of the womb - though baby aspirin a day helps thicken it! Lots of exercise will help for blood flow!

So I’m cycle day 41 and still no sign of AF. It seems like I’ve been cursed with long cycles so I’m going to call the clinic today and see what they recommend. So frustrating because I’m about to stat ovulation induction Prior to ivf and cannot until my period starts!

lucieloos · 24/06/2020 10:31

@mouldygrapes welcome good little group here! Yes definitely get a frer with my daughter the cheapy sticks didn't turn positive until way after frer.

@ChicaXS thanks lovely so glad all thats done for another month 🙈 Is that £4.99 for one frer?

mouldygrapes · 24/06/2020 10:33

Thank you all.
Anyone experienced sore armpits as a symptom before? I’ve never had this and it’s weirding me out. Have booked a telephone consult with GP

Loladoodle · 24/06/2020 10:34

@chica that is frustrating hope it comes ASAP!!

@mouldygrapes welcome! I’m sure it will take a few cycles to regulate after so long on contraception but hey who knows In this game anything can happen. Good luck!

@lucieloos I use the one step ones pretty much daily post the tww lol their super cheap on amazon lol. I save the frers for special occasions lol like 10dpo or more haha!

lastditchattempt20 · 24/06/2020 11:50

Hi ladies- welcome @mouldygrapes! I'm also post Mirena but did have very slight spotting every month. Had it removed approx day 2 of cycle and by the next cycle my lining had built up well enough to remind me why I had it put in! Full on AF, clots and all- so I think the local effects can wear off quite quickly 😳. Hopefully you'll get a regular cycle back soon (or not! 🤞🏻)
I would give it a couple of months before getting checks or taking anything tbh, if you have heavy periods, increasing blood flow will make them worse.

Happyhappy37 · 24/06/2020 12:22

@Loladoodle you are too funny lol. Still having on and of spotting. I am leaning more towards a weird period. Period due to tomorrow or Saturday.

Happyhappy37 · 24/06/2020 12:29

@mouldygrapes welcome. Hopefully your cycle doesn't take too long to sort out. Good luck on your TTC journey ☺️

Loladoodle · 24/06/2020 12:58

@mouldygrapes before af I often get sore boobs down the side towards my arm pits

Lynnysong · 24/06/2020 13:14

@Happyhappy37 aw hope he's feeling ok now :)

I have been texting my donor but he is not replying. Getting slightly annoyed as I know he's been on Whatsapp and has just not replied. That's three days in a row now. I think it's rude. This is a delicate emotional manner and this doesn't help.

I'm cd 6 and I'm starting to use opk. It's about 25 though and says it's high?? Never really used them properly before. AF is only just finished. Heard on another forum that LH can be high after AF and then drop again before the surge. Does this happen to anyone else?

I'm trying to lose weight, save money, study and get more work. I've never been this focused before. :)

Lynnysong · 24/06/2020 13:15

I hope everyone is ok, sorry I haven't been about. Too much to organise just now lol xx

LT103 · 24/06/2020 13:58

Soooo my poas obsession paid off haha. Any advice? Tested this morning and low but had lots of cm though not ewcm so thought I’d check again and got a high. I assume I test again later today and maybe 3 times tomorrow to make sure I don’t miss the peak??

Loladoodle · 24/06/2020 13:58

@lynny that is annoying re your donor- not too reliable by the sounds 👎 glad you are busy organising things though and getting life plans in place. What more work is it you are trying to get?

OP posts:
LT103 · 24/06/2020 14:03

@Lynnysong sorry to hear that. It’s just courtesy to at least reply 😟. Hope you’re fitting in some time to relax too!!

Lynnysong · 24/06/2020 14:04

@LT103 I'd bd just in case lol :) you must be pretty close to the peak. When do you normally ovulate? :)

Lynnysong · 24/06/2020 14:10

@Loladoodle @LT103 If I see him next week I might ask him about it. His not replying is causing me unnecessary stress tbh. I texted a little later and just asked if everyone was ok. Last time he apologised and said he had been working.

I work as a cleaner while I'm studying, it's hard work but it will keep me fit and help me lose weight for next year. I'd like extra hours to save money for ivf :)

LT103 · 24/06/2020 14:14

@lynnysong sounds like you’re busy!! Fingers crossed everything gets sorted!
I’ve never tracked before so I have no idea 🤦🏻‍♀️ This is my first time keeping an eye on my cycle. I’m usually not far off 28 days give or take a few days so I’d expect it to be soon. I’m cd12 just now. Dtd 8, 9, 10 and 11. Think I’d be pushing it for today too 🤣🤣. Was thinking day off and try for tomorrow! Should hopefully cover it! If high today then probably ovulate tomorrow or Friday? My apps say Friday or Saturday but I know they’re not reliable

Loladoodle · 24/06/2020 14:22

@Lynnysong good for you 👏 so motivated! Yes I would ask him and explain that you need reliability for this process.
