@Happyhappy37 No I haven't tried OPK so right now we are just trying for the fun of it. I actually bought Ovusense but its taken forever to ship. I have never had a regular cycle and I'm older at 38 so I'm just expecting it to be a difficult process.

Sunbird24 · 07/06/2020 17:15

Hi all! Brief intro - I’m 42, single with no children, and last month started the process to do IVF by myself with my nearest Care Clinic. I got my blood test results back this week and my AMH is 16/2.24, so it’s all systems go now!

Sleeeeeepy · 07/06/2020 18:52

Welcome @Sunbird24, @lastditchattempt20 and any other newbies to the thread. It's such a lovely group, hope you're all having a fab Sunday 😊

Happyhappy37 · 07/06/2020 19:05

@Elspethelf I tried opk for the first time last month. Won't be doing it this month though.
I have never had a regular cycle and I'm older at 38 so I'm just expecting it to be a difficult process
Why are you expecting it to be difficult? I am 37 soon to 38. Make your thoughts positive please 😄. We all might have a different journey but, our goal here is the same.🤰🙂
Sending you lots of positive energy 🙏🏽
🤞🏾you get a BFP soon.
@Sunbird24 exciting times ahead. Good luck to you Hun. 🤞🏾

Happyhappy37 · 07/06/2020 19:07

@lastditchattempt20 welcome. Good luck to you and your partner.

Bearhug9 · 07/06/2020 19:08

Thanks for the new thread @Loladoodle and good to see so many of us in the 35++ club Smile x

Happyhappy37 · 07/06/2020 19:13

@Sleeeeeepy have been so busy today. Got up late today, so had a late start to my routine.
On the plus side doing the DTD a lot, so need to recoup. My energy levels are down. 🙈
How is your Sunday going?

Sleeeeeepy · 07/06/2020 19:35

@Happyhappy37 That's a good reason to be tired! It's good to take it easy sometimes, I think a late start is a lovely treat for a Sunday. I'm tired because we had a lovely Sunday roast delivered and ordered extra pizza to have for tea. Healthy living starts tomorrow 😂

Muda · 07/06/2020 20:02

Where is everyone in terms of their cycle at the moment? Anyone waiting on AF to come or in their TWW or in the DTD stages etc

Chlo2701 · 07/06/2020 20:13

@Muda I'm currently DTD, got my second flashing smiley today on Clearblue digital ovulation strips, I'm CD15 today, so I'm hoping to get my peak tomorrow or Tuesday 🤞🏻
AF due on Father's Day 2wks today.
I like knowing where everyone else is aswel

claireb707 · 07/06/2020 20:14

I'm 4dpo

farfromperfect82 · 07/06/2020 20:21

This seems like such a nice group! I just rejoined Mumsnet after a spell last year when I was figuring out how to best prepare from TTC.

I will reintroduce myself as it's a new thread. I am 37, ttc #1 with DP who is 36. Been trying about 3 months properly but haven't been careful for over a year. I have some PCOS symptoms, recently had a polyp removed, have late ovulations, occasionally do not ovulate and short luteal phases... which only just discovering with all the tracking, temping and POAS.

Am following Chinese medicine plan right now which is time consuming but super interesting.

Currently 2 days late, some symptoms and higher temps but had BFN two days ago so I am waiting for a bit and trying not to get hopes up too high.

Welcome @Sunbird24 - I have a couple of friends who have done the same! Good for you. I would've done the same and looked into prior to meeting partner 3 years ago.

lastditchattempt20 · 07/06/2020 20:26

Agree, everyone is very friendly! I'm around CD4 so once AF done I'll be starting OPK to see when to get busy! @Happyhappy37 hope you get your strength back! Whoever had a Sunday dinner then pizza I'm jealous!

farfromperfect82 · 07/06/2020 20:40

I'm making roast beef yummy

Pizza sounds lush 🍕 ❤️

FridaKFangirl · 07/06/2020 20:49

Hi all, @Muda, I’m cycle day 13. Trying to DTD every other day this cycle until AF arrives/CD35 though I don’t think DH is up (ahem) for it tonight... this is my first cycle after coming off the pill, I’ve decided not to track OPK etc until I’ve had at least one natural AF otherwise I know I’ll worry myself if I don’t peak...

Matilda19 · 07/06/2020 21:25

Hey all and welcome

I think im cd 9 not using anything to track this month as only first real month trying as last month was first without implant

Going just continue to dtd as much as we do and keep everything crossed. Were very active in that area anyways so we're defo dtd alot. Just need the rest of all the factors to fall in to place

Good luck all xx

Snebblesmamma · 07/06/2020 21:45

Coooeee cougar over here too!
I’m 41 next month and OH is 35. We are ttc #2 with below par sperm and on cycle 5.
Feeling out the fame this month at 8dpo and zero symptoms so I’m just waiting out AF.

MrsTtobe · 07/06/2020 22:06

@farfromperfect82 roast beef here too! Was sooo good. 😋

@muda I'm in tww too. AF due at some point this week. Around Thurs I think! But @Loladoodle is going to have to talk me in to doing a test at the weekend if still no show as she knows I have pg test anxiety. 😂😂
@PinkTulipz when is your AF due? Are you similar cycle to mine?

Happy Sunday all xxx

Lynnysong · 07/06/2020 22:26

Hi everyone, love the new thread. I was helping my mum out today so super busy. Weeding, painting and clearing rubbish, but actually had a lovely day :)

I'm 4dpo and I'm going to dial back the caffeine from tomorrow, just a tea in the morning and that's that. I had a slightly naughty beer today but am going to be good now lol

Good luck for everyone testing soon fx xx

M4v3r1ck · 07/06/2020 22:48

Sunday roast and pizza!! Winning!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

TWW is officially starting for me too! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

@farfromperfect82, wow what does the Chinese medicine plan entail?

Re: caffeine, I'm usually four cups of tea a day, and I've now switched one out for decaf! Going to start switching the rest slowly as I honestly think I'm a caffeine addict! 🙈

Sleeeeeepy · 07/06/2020 23:08

I feel like I've set a new Sunday challenge with my greedy roast and pizza combo, no regrets 😂

If I take my strange one day AF as CD1 then I'm CD11, i tend to ovulate on the earlier side so the rising LH would make sense. I used a CB opk earlier and it was the big old ⭕️ but maybe I'll get a smiley this month 🤞🏻

farfromperfect82 · 07/06/2020 23:19

Oh dear is caffeine really bad?? I do love a coffee a couple of times a week and prob have 2-3 cups of tea a day. I am also trying to cut down on sugar (really bad for PCOS) and booze. It's hard!

@M4v3r1ck take a listen to the podcast called Practically Fertile by Adrienne Wei. She's amazing. Essentially it's figuring out your personal 'pattern' and adapting diet, mindset and lifestyle to address any imbalances. Also look up the Yin Yang diet, which looks at diet and exercise to promote thicker uterine lining, improve egg quality, balance hormones, increase cervical mucus, warm uterus, reduce PMS etc. I've seen lots of improvements so far. I take some herbs and was getting acupuncture a couple of times a month before lockdown.

X

Dipsy77 · 08/06/2020 05:40

CD1 for me here hoping for BFPs this month x

M4v3r1ck · 08/06/2020 07:10

@farfromperfect82 how interesting! Will check that out, thank you! 😃

Most articles say to reduce caffeine! NHS guidelines advise on no more than 200mg per day - hard to say what that is, but they provide a rough guide! I'll probably need one cup of tea a day always, but if I can switch out the rest to decaf that would be a big move, and ensure that I'm well within the 200mg limit!

Happy Monday to all! Hope this working week isn't too crazy! 🤪

Sunbird24 · 08/06/2020 09:42

I’m completely on decaf tea and coffee now, and no soft drinks, just water and fruit juice. Usually a sugar fiend but really trying to have healthy savoury snacks instead when I can’t help grazing... carrot sticks and hummus are the new chocolate! 🤭
