Penguin huddle 🐧🐧🐧 TTC after pregnancy loss - Thread 35 - time for some sticky BFP's

SomeBunnyovertheRainbow · 19/05/2020 15:36

Welcome to the 🐧 huddle. This a safe place to give and receive support for everyone who has experienced the loss(es) of a pregnancy or baby. Pregnancy and child loss is one of the most difficult things we can experience and it can also be the most lonely time too. I hope you find this thread to be of some comfort.

I have found so much comfort from the lovely ladies on this thread and I’m hoping for lots of BFPs in coming months!

Thanks you all for checking on me after I've pretty much gatecrashed back into the thread. I will hopefully know by 7 this evening. Scan is at 6.45 so oh can come with me. Symptoms seem to be reducing a bit but I'm supposed to be 10 weeks today so I know they could anyway. Oh to have a carefree pregnancy.

VenusStarr · 10/08/2020 12:05

I'm glad your oh can be with you later @Esssa ❤️ sending you lots of love xx

I know exactly what you mean about a carefree pregnancy - I've connected with a few people doing ivf as that's our next step and they are newly pregnant now and they are just completely embracing their pregnancy and I just can't relate to that at all. It makes me anxious just thinking about it. I'd love to think that I could celebrate each day, makes me a bit sad xx

Mumlili9 · 10/08/2020 15:56

Hello ladies

@Esssa sorry to hear your having a really tough time fx its nothing sinister. Were here for you either way.

As for me it was test day today and it was a bfn. Were now going to take a break though it looks like it'll never happen again for us now. I'm probably to scared up inside. I'm going to hang around because I'd like to see you all get your bfp's. I'm totally gutted but I need to secure my new job before we can start trying again. Tbh I've shed so many tears today

Kiki275 · 10/08/2020 16:59

@Mumlili9 I'm so sorry to hear that. Huge hugs to you. That can't have been an easy decision to make and I'm in awe of you for making it. I hope your new job goes well and when it's time to try again the clean break helps xx

AliceinBunnyland · 10/08/2020 17:00

@Mumlili9 I'm sorry to hear that. Any chance you were just too early to test? I hope you're as okay as you can be. Please PM me any time if you want to chat or rant or whatever x

VenusStarr · 10/08/2020 17:18

I'm really sorry to hear that @Mumlili9 ❤️ I'm glad you're sticking around. Best wishes with your new job, any idea when you can start? X

Esssa · 10/08/2020 19:41

Update. Now I can see to type everything looks fine. I can't believe it and I'm still not 100% convinced we are bringing a baby home but it was a really good result. Measuring in front and a good heartbeat. First time I've seen a live baby on a scan. Sorry for the pessimistic melt down of the last few days.

@Mumlili9 I'm so sorry its a bfn for you today. I hope the new job goes well.

VenusStarr · 10/08/2020 20:07

Oh I'm so pleased for you @Esssa 💕 did they give a reason for the bleeding?

KerryW87 · 10/08/2020 20:37

@Esssa Oh, I'm so pleased everything was fine! Had been thinking about you. What lovely news, so pleased for you. Hope you have a lovely night and you can sleep a lot better tonight! 💕

@Mumlili9 I'm so sorry about the BFN :( I hope the new job goes well and I'm glad you're sticking around. When do you start the job? x

@VenusStarr Hope you're well too! x

Esssa · 10/08/2020 20:59

I asked her to check but she couldn't see any reason. Cervix is closed so no issue there either. Celebratory fish and chips for tea that I'm going to regret as I've eaten too much, compensation for the last few days.

Kiki275 · 10/08/2020 21:22

Wonderful news @Esssa! You have every right to be pessimistic and there won't be a soul on this thread who can blame you.
Have you a date for your 12 week anomaly scan yet?x

Esssa · 10/08/2020 22:49

Friday 28th though getting that was a palaver. By the dates I was given today that should measure 13 weeks but as far as they are concerned it'll be 12+4. They did want to give me 13+3 which would have put me right on the edge for the nuchal scan so I'm glad I pushed for earlier.

I'm hoping once I get into the second trimester I'll feel better about everything as I've never got there before. I know all too well, as does everyone else here, that that doesn't clear us completely though.

KerryW87 · 11/08/2020 07:11

@Esssa Absolutely, I do hope you're able to feel a bit better once more time passes and you're in the second trimester! I know, like you said there, that some of us here have had experiences during the second trimester...but the majority of babies do make it, and I have my fingers crossed that you're able to feel happier with every passing week 💕

Esssa · 11/08/2020 11:30

Just had a catch up on the last page or 2.The orchid is looking lovely @VenusStarr. I hope its a sign of good things for the ivf. Sorry to read about your bunny @SomeBunnyOvertheRainbow but congrats on the two new additions. Its always sad to lose a furry family member.

KerryW87 · 12/08/2020 15:54

@Esssa @Kiki275 @Mumlili9 @VenusStarr @AliceinBunnyland How are you all today? ❤️ x

VenusStarr · 13/08/2020 06:48

Hi @KerryW87 I'm OK thank you, got my first acupuncture session today and a counselling session after, lots of self care today! ☺️
How are you? Hope everyone else is OK and coping with the heat. We've had some pretty cool storms here.

KerryW87 · 13/08/2020 07:47

@VenusStarr Oh wow, how was acupuncture? Always been curious about it! Sounds like a good self-care plan for sure :)

I'm ok too, thanks. I'm a nursery practitioner in a primary school so it was first day back with all the wee ones yesterday! Without a doubt the happiest I've felt since it all happened...not much time for feeling sad with 16 excited 3-4 year olds around you 😂❤️ So I'm really glad to be back xx

AliceinBunnyland · 13/08/2020 08:25

Hi @KerryW87 I'm ok, thanks for asking. Been enjoying my bunnies but also super busy with work. Managed to take most of yesterday afternoon off and DH Dsis with her DH and kids planning to visit later so I'm going to try to finish early again. I'm convinced I'm unproductive for part of the day(!) so just going to try to get a day's work done by lunchtime.

It's good your job is brining you some joy. I love kids but I do find being around young ones tough as particularly little girls make me think of my DD. I need to get over that though! Work can be a good distraction.

@VenusStarr I hope the acupuncture goes well. I'd be interested to know how it goes too. I've heard lots of great things about it.

KerryW87 · 13/08/2020 12:44

@AliceinBunnyland Aww I'm glad, was it two bunnies you got? Haha, I know the feeling. I definitely have a case of that when it comes to uni work 😂 Hope you managed to get enough done and you're on track for an early finish!

Oh no, of course...itll be so natural to feel that way ❤️ For now, I definitely feel that when around pregnant women which makes me feel so guilty, but it is how it is I suppose. I know what you mean about wanting to get over it, but don't be hard on yourself for it either - your feelings are your feelings and they're valid ❤️

I chased up test results yesterday and was told it'll likely be over 8 weeks now due to delays, so that was a bit hard to take. Feel so frantic about wanting to try again but I know I'll just need to keep distracted as best as I can and wait! xx

Semele5069 · 13/08/2020 14:22

@VenusStarr @KerryW87 @AliceinBunnyland I had my first acupuncture session this week too! Really enjoyed it. The lady is Zita West trained and was very knowledgeable about fertility. She went through my TTC history and was really interested in the details of my 2 miscarriages and what my periods are like.

She was also interested in the fact I've had a very stressful couple of years and talked about the impact that has on us physically. She went over my diet and has suggested some changes (mainly to more whole foods, fruit and veg) but has also sent me diet advice sheets.

She did some acupuncture in the session, mainly round my ankles, lower abdomen, right wrist and forehead, then left me for 15 mins. It was really relaxing and I noticed some odd crampy feelings sort of like ovulation pains later, which was interesting.

She also advised me on what to ask my GP about in my appointment about testing and would like to know any results.

I have another appointment in a couple of weeks so really interested in seeing how it goes. Let me know how you get on too!

AliceinBunnyland · 14/08/2020 09:47

Hi @Semele5069 That sounds really good!

I'm getting annoyed with baby announcements as there have been two this week on non-baby pages - one on my Les Mills Facebook group and another in my local Facebook group. I can imagine how wonderful it is for them but you don't need to tell a massive group of people you don't know and people are so blind to how that might affect others...

Now even my "safe" groups are becoming about babies../

Kiki275 · 14/08/2020 12:12

@AliceinBunnyland can you message the admin? A group I'm on had announcements left, right & centre, so the admin put a stop to it (knowing many women on there are struggling seeing them). Now it's back to its true purpose, plus rude/funny memes x

AliceinBunnyland · 14/08/2020 13:12

Thanks @Kiki275 I might try that. I am concerned that now one person has done it, others will follow x

KerryW87 · 14/08/2020 22:45

@AliceinBunnyland Ah, I'm sorry about the baby announcements. I know way back in my early twenties I wouldn't have even thought about it, but people just don't realise unless they've been through something like this how hard things like this can hit you...and it really can hit hard :( Hope you're doing ok? ❤️

@Semele5069 That sounds fantastic! Let us know how the next one goes! :)

I contacted my local SANDS and they're going to give me a phone session with one of their support group team...been back and forth with myself about whether or not to do it, but feeling a bit low this week and don't want to feel that way if there's anything I can do to help it! I figure it can't hurt?

Hope everyone's ok and has a nice weekend ahead! ❤️ xx

Hopefulmummie · 14/08/2020 23:05

Hi everyone.
I suffered an ectopic pregnancy at the start of june at 6/7 weeks pregnant. I was devastated.
The time has come again to TTC and it feels surreal to have to go through all this again.
I'm on CD1 today so this is my first cycle TTC.
Just hoping it doesn't take too long to fall pregnant again
