Penguin huddle 🐧🐧🐧 TTC after pregnancy loss - Thread 35 - time for some sticky BFP's

SomeBunnyovertheRainbow · 19/05/2020 15:36

Welcome to the 🐧 huddle. This a safe place to give and receive support for everyone who has experienced the loss(es) of a pregnancy or baby. Pregnancy and child loss is one of the most difficult things we can experience and it can also be the most lonely time too. I hope you find this thread to be of some comfort.

I have found so much comfort from the lovely ladies on this thread and I’m hoping for lots of BFPs in coming months!

I'm doing ok thanks @VenusStarr. Another couple of weeks till I get to the danger zone as it were. Then a few more weeks after that till the first scan which I'm dreading after last time. I have nausea and burning crampy feelings quite often that worry me a bit too. Other than that I'm not complaining and I have everything crossed it'll work out without being particularly positive about it all.

Everyones plants are looking well. My tomatoes are starting to ripen now we have some sun and the strawberries and raspberries are coming along too.

Congratulations @marmitecheesetoast I've got everything crossed for you!

Hope everything is OK @Sakura54

AliceinBunnyland · 17/07/2020 12:04

@VenusStarr Yes on 15th. I think I did mentioned further up thread. Good news on your orchids and the progesterone. Does it have any side effects?

VenusStarr · 17/07/2020 13:23

Sorry if I missed that @AliceinBunnyland, will you test early? I have zero desire to test early which is unusual! I think the side effects will just be usual tww symptoms like sore boobs and bloating (😏) I have literally no symptoms which is also unusual as I've been getting sore boobs from ovulation. But not reading into anything.

Glad you're doing OK @Esssa :) could you have an early scan if you wanted? I've got everything crossed for you ❤️

Esssa · 17/07/2020 13:47

@VenusStarr I'm tempted to but everywhere locally is booked until a good way through August. I'm blaming covid! We will probably go between the two nhs scans if oh still can't come, and if we get to that point. Oh didn't seem keen on an early scan, probably because it costs! I pointed out I wouldn't have to feel sick for so many weeks if an early scan picked up it had gone wrong again like the mmc. He hadn't considered that so may go early if I can get a slot. Mum has offered to pay for one too. Progesterone doesn't sound fun but anything that could help is worth it. Good luck!

AliceinBunnyland · 17/07/2020 15:02

No need to apologise @VenusStarr This thread moves quickly at times. I'm honestly not sure. I'll see how I feel later this cycle. We still might give it a go today anyway as under SMEP you dtd for 3 days after the peak (not that we're doing SMEP) but I'm not bothered if we don't

So is the progesterone as a start of what would be your IVF treatment or is this something you're trying in the meantime? Sorry if I've completely misunderstood.

I'm going to try not to think about symptoms because I've got excited so many times and my body has tricked me though I'm sure I'll read into everything too!

Sakura54 · 17/07/2020 15:28

Thank you all. Appreciate the kind words. False alarm! Everything is fine. As well as spotting, I was getting bad body aches and felt so weak, so was convinced I was going to have another MC, as the last baby stopped around now secretly. My symptoms are milder than usual and the nausea is non-existent. I also don’t have my usual hard belly. She confirmed I have a split uterus which previously some sonographers have seen and others haven’t. So I have a split and tilted uterus. This is the 3rd time I’ve had an internal scan and my goodness it was painful this time!

Firevie · 17/07/2020 15:30

@Sakura54 yay! I am so pleased for you!!! Wishing you a continuing healthy pregnancy! Xx

marmitecheesetoast · 17/07/2020 16:50

Brilliant news @Sakura54 delighted for you. Although sorry it was painful.

Thank you @Esssa how many weeks are you now? I think burny crampy feelings can be pretty normal but I know it’s impossible not to worry.

@VenusStarr I’m doing ok-ish thank you. A lot of anxiety and feeling quite daunted. If this pregnancy continues, it’s hard feeling as though there is no ‘safe point’ for me that I’ll feel once I get to a set number of weeks I’ll feel more confident in it. Just trying to think today I’m pregnant but it’s hard. I’ve had less nausea today than the last few days which is making me anxious but just trying not to obsess.

Loving the orchid update!

Fx @AliceinBunnyland @VenusStarr hope the tww goes quickly for you both and you’re not driven too mad with symptom spotting

Hope @Mumlili9 is doing ok too

Esssa · 17/07/2020 17:03

@Sakura54 thats great news it went well. Does having a split uterus impact the pregnancy in any way did they say?

@marmitecheesetoast I'm 6+4 today 7 on Monday which is super helpful and I'll be sad if the day changes from the dating scan, especially if they put me back. Still got to get there though. How far along are you?

VenusStarr · 17/07/2020 20:00

Brilliant news @Sakura54 ❤️ I also have a tilted uterus and it's arcuate, so looks like a rounded heart. So pleased to hear all is well.

It would be nice if you oh could go to a scan with you @Esssa, I think there is a rule change coming with regards to nhs scans / maternity care.

Still no news on the ivf yet @AliceinBunnyland, the recurrent mc consultant from the nk cells clinic said we should hive it a try. I guess it'll be practice for ivf too (hoping we don't need to go down that route but we'll see)

I'm sorry you have a lot of anxiety @marmitecheesetoast ❤️ I think that's totally normal, it's really hard kit to overthink everything, it's very overwhelming. Sending lots of love.

I hope you all continue to have hood news :) will be thinking of you all xx

marmitecheesetoast · 17/07/2020 20:24

Thank you @VenusStarr ❤️

@Esssa @Sakura54 what do you think about taking some of this chat to a very tentative pregnancy after loss thread?

Esssa · 17/07/2020 22:08

@marmitecheesetoast Sakura and I are on a pregnancy after mmc thread. I know that isn't why you are here but there would be 2 friendly faces you already know if you wanted to join us. Or I'm happy to join another thread with you.

AliceinBunnyland · 17/07/2020 23:42

@VenusStarr Yes of course hopefully you won't need it. I was just wondering if that's what the progesterone is for. Sorry I've probably not read previous posts properly 🙈 Hope you don't mind me asking heart 💗

Hope everyone has a good weekend and good luck if you are joining a new thread x

Sakura54 · 18/07/2020 07:17

@VenusStarr I think mine is a partial septate uterus. It's only mild so I don't think she would have noticed if I didn't tell her. I'm going to mention it at my next scan and then to the midwife as well.

@marmitecheesetoast Yes, let me know and I will join your new thread. I think it may be annoying for you to join a MMC thread, the same way it's annoying and sometimes triggering for me being in a 'normal' pregnancy thread where they haven't experienced MCs before but worry about going to scans alone and having an MMC etc or it can be too happy happy, if that makes sense? By all means join if you want to though!

Mumlili9 · 18/07/2020 15:42

@AliceinBunnyland thank you xx

@venusstarr I'm ok been licking my wounds. Yet another bfn 12dpo so definitely out this cycle.

Welcome to the new ladies and sorry for your losses.

marmitecheesetoast · 18/07/2020 17:52

Oh thanks @Mumlili9 I’d found the pregnancy after loss penguin huddle thread but no one had posted since April! So that must be the more up to date one, I didn’t see that thanks.
Sorry to hear about your bfn Sad be gentle to yourself over the next few days.

Thanks @Esssa and @Sakura54 yes I don’t think the mmc thread would be the right place for me, I think I’ll check out dipping my toe in the thread mumlili has linked above. Be lovely to see you both there too if you felt like it.
I’m only just about to turn 5 weeks so incredibly early and tentative but I’m already losing the plot, last night i was vividly planning this baby’s funeral, thinking about how it would be the same coffin, and that I’d ask the florist to recreate the same flowers from DS’s funeral and that we’d have the same reading but different songs and what they’d be 😳 so yeah losing the plot a bit. Hopefully some PaL support will help a little.

Hope the progesterone does it’s thing @VenusStarr 🤞🏻

VenusStarr · 18/07/2020 18:12

Thanks everyone - had a mild panic. I misread my consultant letter and I should take 200mg twice a day then if I get a positive I should go up to 400mg x2. I thought it was just 200 x1 at this stage! So I'm already behind on my dose as I was going to do it before bed 🙄 luckily someone on Instagram sent me some 400mg capsules, so I'll pop that one in tonight and then do it properly from tomorrow... God, if I can't even follow these simple instructions, what the hell am i going to be like when I start ivf 😳😳
If course I don't mind you asking @AliceinBunnyland ☺️

I'm really sorry @Mumlili9 ❤️ it's shit. When is af due? What are you temps like? Just thought with the confusion over you opks / ovulation?

Oh @marmitecheesetoast I'm sorry you're so anxious ❤️ you're not losing the plot, it's a very overwhelming time xx

I did something scary today - I went and met some women from Instagram. 2 are at my ivf clinic currently going through treatment there. It was only a couple of hours, but it was really nice. What have you all been up to today? Hoping for a sunny day tomorrow ☀

Mumlili9 · 18/07/2020 22:30

My temps are still high @venusstarr so I'm either 9dpo or 12 dpo. Either way I'm out ☹

Treated myself to a korma and a pepsi to night. Though will as I'm not pregnant I can have a bit of caffeine though I probably will not sleep now

AliceinBunnyland · 19/07/2020 10:45

@VenusStarr Meeting the ladies from Instagram sounds lovely. I expect it won't matter that you took 200mg progesterone for a couple of days. It was nice of someone to send you some.

Hope you're ok @Mumlili9 Not the point but I buy caffeine free Coke now. I almost never have caffeine and I don't sleep if I have it at night but sometimes I fancy a Diet Coke.

I have posted your packages out yesterday @mumlili9 @VenusStarr Luckily he didn't ask what was in them!

Mumlili9 · 20/07/2020 04:01

@AliceinBunnyland thank you for the opks lovely. I will not be having caffeine again was totally wired for hours. It's the first time on over 2 years I've had it omg I'm never doing it again. I can see why it sends kids wild lol

AliceinBunnyland · 20/07/2020 08:31

@Mumlili9 I think it affect us us more if we don't drink caffeine often. My DH can drink tea and coffee at bedtime and it doesn't affect his sleep. I don't sleep if I drink coke after about 2 pm and when I have it I feel wired too or like I'm having palpitations sometimes Confused

VenusStarr · 20/07/2020 12:47

Thank you for posting @AliceinBunnyland, glad they weren't nosey! 😊

How are you @Mumlili9, have you tested again? Glad you did something nice on Saturday, hope you're OK ❤️

Mumlili9 · 22/07/2020 10:54

@AliceinBunnyland thank you for the opks and little surprise.

@venusstarr well I'm 16dpo according to FF app but no AF yet and nothing but very white bfn's. I've no cramps or usual signs of AF either except lower temps over the last 3 days. Totally con fused. When Ishowed a fertility specialist my chart he said I ovulated on CD13 which until now I didn't believe.

I've put up a pick of the Rose's from my babies bush I had to give the bush a trim due to it over growing this year meaning I can get in my green house door lol.

How is every one getting on ?

Hi everyone,

I asked for some support and a point in the right direction after having lost my baby at 18 weeks. He was born on Sunday.

I've really struggled with my guilt since finding out we had lost our baby a week ago, can only describe it as being consumed with both overwhelming grief and also the need and desire to try again. My partner feels the same but we were worried people would feel we were "replacing" our son which, after being lucky enough to meet him and spend time with him before saying goodbye, is impossible. I miss him terribly and wish we could have kept him safe until December, but there's a sadness and a void that we know we can't get past without trying again.

Some lovely women on another thread recommended this one, saying they found a lot of support here so I was hoping I could join? Hope you're all well ❤️
