Penguin huddle 🐧🐧🐧 TTC after pregnancy loss - Thread 35 - time for some sticky BFP's

Welcome to the 🐧 huddle. This a safe place to give and receive support for everyone who has experienced the loss(es) of a pregnancy or baby. Pregnancy and child loss is one of the most difficult things we can experience and it can also be the most lonely time too. I hope you find this thread to be of some comfort.

I have found so much comfort from the lovely ladies on this thread and I’m hoping for lots of BFPs in coming months!

@venusstarr @marmitecheesetoast @AliceinBunnyland is there really only 4 of us soon to be 3, gentle congratulations @marmitecheesetoast.

Well my chart is all over the place but at least I ovulated I'm just not sure when or if we could have caught the egg.

My garden isn't doing great. My veggies are dieing as it's just too wet. Theres so much rain it's just washing all the nutrients out of the soil and the roots are just to wet they are drowning.

The rain isn't so good for me either its dragging my already low mood down more. I need something good yo happen now.

@AliceinBunnyland what's this group your referring too?

@Mumlili9 It's a Facebook group that was set up following a thread on here about friendships, wanting to make more friends, feeling like you're always the one making an effort, not having a "best friend" or group of close knit friends as is portrayed on TV... that sort of thing. There are some chats in the group, a book club, a quiz most weeks...

VenusStarr · 13/07/2020 19:46

@AliceinBunnyland I could use the opks if you don't want them - although maybe don't need all of them, maybe half?
I'm sorry you're feeling a bit stressed out by tracking. I've never used clear blue so unsure if missing the first day would impact significantly? My ovulation has been a bit mixed since February (the chemical loss), early as day 9 and as late as day 15 I think.

@Mumlili9 I know, we've been here a long time ❤️ I am genuinely hopeful that we will all get our little ones xxx

Rundle90 · 13/07/2020 21:49

Hi can I join? I had a miscarriage in April, lost baby at 10 weeks sadly, had to go to hospital due it. After 8ish loong weeks AF finally turned up 2 weeks ago (only time I have actually really wanted her if I am honest). DH and I are TTC our rainbow baby! Wishing you all lots of sticky baby dust!

marmitecheesetoast · 14/07/2020 08:51

@AliceinBunnyland @Mumlili9 @VenusStarr thank you lovelies. All feels very surreal and very mixed feelings obviously. I really really didn’t think it was going to happen this cycle.

It’s very early days but the line is getting darker the last few mornings. I know this isn’t the odds, but I just feel like it’s basically 50/50 whether I get to bring a baby home this time. Will it be my first miscarriage or another stillbirth?. We’ve not even fully finished the post mortem process for my son. A lot of emotions and feelings. But there is some tentative hope in there, although that feels hard and risky to have.

Anyway, thank you all so much for your well wishes. I have everything crossed for you all that good things are coming your way. You all deserve it so much. @VenusStarr I am sure those orchids are a sign.

The one thing I did do this cycle which DH made endless fun of was get through I think 4 pineapples in the tww including gnawing on the core 🤣🙈

I might lurk here for a little while longer if that would be ok.

Much love to you all xx

VenusStarr · 14/07/2020 09:05

Welcome @Rundle90 I'm very sorry for your loss ❤️ its a lovely supportive group that's got me through some tough times xx

@marmitecheesetoast I'm pleased to hear that your lines are getting darker, have you missed your period now? It's really hard not to be stressed or worried, but today you are pregnant 💕 congratulations.

Honestly, I'm seeing signs of hope everywhere. I've got lots of buds on my orchid now and can see growth, do hoping it'll flower very soon. I entered a competition to win a framed rainbow picture on Instagram and I won! 🌈 Even if it doesn't mean I'll have my baby anytime soon, I'm starting to be open to the possibility that it can happen for us. It's a contrast to how I've been feeling since my second loss last September really, so I'm going to try and enjoy this feeling ❤️

Sakura54 · 14/07/2020 11:20

@marmitecheesetoast gentle congrats to you!

Mumlili9 · 14/07/2020 17:41

@AliceinBunnyland would it be possible to join this group what's it called.

Mumlili9 · 14/07/2020 18:11

@AliceinBunnyland yes please if you wouldn't mind sharing some of the opks with me.
@Sakura54 hello hun how are you?
@venusstarr I'm glad your feeling hopeful and feeling more confident.
@marmitecheesetoast great news about your darker tests.

@Rundle90 welcome and sorry for your loss.

marmitecheesetoast · 14/07/2020 18:44

Thanks all. Yes @VenusStarr it would have started yesterday I think or today.

I’ve spoken to the rainbow clinic midwife and I have a telephone appt next week with a consultant to set a plan for this pregnancy based on PM results and Protocols for pregnancy following stillbirth. It’s all just very scary and daunting. Trying to just think today I am pregnant. I have no expectations beyond that.

AliceinBunnyland · 14/07/2020 19:38

@Mumlili9 @VenusStarr I have PM'd you.

@marmitecheesetoast fingers crossed you bring your rainbow baby home this time

I got a flashing smiley today so feel a bit better. Slightly later than last month but seems like Ovia is almost exactly right again which is weird considering I'm not ovulating on the same cycle day.

Sakura54 · 14/07/2020 21:39

I’m ok thanks @Mumlili9 just trying not to think about my 12 week scan next month. Petrified after what happened at my last one and I know I’ll have to be on my own again. Hope you will start to feel better soon.

marmitecheesetoast · 15/07/2020 07:39

Great news on the flashing smiley @AliceinBunnyland

Ah I’m not surprised @Sakura54 it’s all so terrifying. I’m a bag of anxiety already. It’s really hard knowing that odds of stillbirth are increased after having one already. Is there a pregnancy after loss thread on here? I’m sure one was mentioned a few times previously but I’ve just had a look and couldn’t see one.

Hope everyone is doing ok and having a good week

AliceinBunnyland · 15/07/2020 09:42

@marmitecheesetoast Last year there was a "graduates" of the penguin huddle thread but then later on when there were quite a few BFPs they set up a new thread. @Mumlili9 might know otherwise you could set up a new one when you're ready 💜

I got a static smiley today (after only one day of flashing smiley) Pleased because I was feeling fertile yesterday (cm etc) but DH and I didn't manage to dtd last night as we couldn't be bothered. He's gone for a walk so we said we'd do it when he gets back Grin

VenusStarr · 15/07/2020 09:44

I'm glad you're getting support from the rainbow clinic @marmitecheesetoast, will you be offered any early scans? There's a thread, maybe on pregnancy or birth clubs, I'm not sure as I don't venture in there.

Best wishes for your scan @Sakura54

Good news on the flashing smiley @AliceinBunnyland 🤞

How are you getting on @Mumlili9, are you testing soon?

I'm officially 3 dpo, confirmed by fertility friend so I'm in for a short cycle again, due on next Saturday. Starting the progesterone from Sunday 🍀
Thanks for the message Alice, I have joined but not had much chance to get on yet xx

AliceinBunnyland · 15/07/2020 09:52

@VenusStarr No problem. There are quite a few people on there and some post a lot and attend book club and the quiz whereas some are not as active at all.

I will post OPKs to @VenusStarr and @Mumlili9 later today probably as I have the afternoon off. The best I've come up with to tell the post office lady is that they're perfume samples or make up applicators 😭

Hlump1980 · 15/07/2020 13:55

Hello Ladies
Do you mind if I join ? I have just had a scan at beginning of the week where I found out I lost both my babies at around 8 weeks. It was any first pregnancy and I am just 40. I knew I had lost one the week before at a previous scan but was hoping for a miracle for the other one as it had a heartbeat which I heard. In a mater of 2 weeks I have found out I was expecting twins and then found out they have both died. It has been a rollercoaster and I have been doing this all by myself. The father and I aren’t together but it was planned since I just turned 40 and he said do you fancy having a baby with me ? We are friends with benefits let’s just say...
The EPU have been fab and I have decided to go down the natural route for the time being. If nothing happens by next week then of course I will have to think again. I think what I am finding so hard is that I made all this plans in My head and they have now gone. I obviously a bag of mixed emotions and something will be fine and the next minute balling my eyes out. I can’t face people at the moment . I hoping all of this is natural? I know I was only a mummy for 8 ish weeks but it still hurts so much x

VenusStarr · 15/07/2020 18:32

I am so sorry @Hlump1980 ❤️❤️ it's awful having to walk out of the hospital after a bad scan. How you're feeling is totally normal, I flipped between totally numb to crying. I spent the days between scans in a bit of a fog to be honest. Have you got a follow up scan booked? With my first miscarriage I'd had bleeding on and off but with my second the bleeding started just before I miscarried (I'd had early scans in both so knew they weren't going to work out sadly). Sending lots of love Flowers

Thank you @AliceinBunnyland :) did they ask you what was in the package? 😂

AliceinBunnyland · 15/07/2020 21:31

I'm sorry @Hlump1980 This is a tough time and whatever you are feeling is "normal". I lost a baby at 40 weeks and then had a miscarriage 6 months later. I've probably been through just about every negative feeling or lack of feeling possible.

@VenusStarr I didn't manage to go today but she will ask - she always asks! Blush

Firevie · 16/07/2020 06:45

@Hlump1980 I am so sorry to hear about your losses. This is horrible and heartbreaking. Make sure you allow all of your feelings - that is the only way to process. I went for my 12w scan and got told the baby had stopped growing at 6w. First baby too. We were devastated. I have just had the ERPC on Tuesday and now waiting for everything to heal before I can start tracking ovulation periods etc and TTC again. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Sending positive vibes your way xxx

Sakura54 · 16/07/2020 10:46

I went to A&E and they’ve booked me in for a scan tomorrow due to spotting. This is why I didn’t want to waste time and have my blood test and checks done so early, but it was done the other day. I don’t even know how to feel right now. Wish me luck, guys.

AliceinBunnyland · 16/07/2020 12:35

@Sakura54 Fingers crossed 🤞 I know lots of women have spotting in a healthy pregnancy but understand it's worrying and hope the scan goes well

VenusStarr · 16/07/2020 19:12

I'm sorry to hear about the spotting @Sakura54 ❤️ I hope tomorrow's scan brings reassurance. Please let us know, thinking of you xx

Firevie · 17/07/2020 07:57

@Sakura54 good luck for your scan today xx

VenusStarr · 17/07/2020 10:32

Morning all, orchid update, I have 2 front runners and a new little bud has shot out in a week. I went to B&q earlier in the week and they had lots of orchids so inspected their buds and I really don't think mine are far off. This morning the largest one looks lighter green, so think its on its way 🙏 🙏

Hope you're OK @Sakura54 ❤️

How are you @Esssa @marmitecheesetoast hope you're both doing well xx

@Mumlili9 how are you getting on?

@AliceinBunnyland have you had a static smiley yet?

I'm going to start the progesterone tomorrow evening 🤞 the sun is shining here ☀ have a good day all xxx
