Penguin huddle 🐧🐧🐧 TTC after pregnancy loss - Thread 35 - time for some sticky BFP's

SomeBunnyovertheRainbow · 19/05/2020 15:36

Welcome to the 🐧 huddle. This a safe place to give and receive support for everyone who has experienced the loss(es) of a pregnancy or baby. Pregnancy and child loss is one of the most difficult things we can experience and it can also be the most lonely time too. I hope you find this thread to be of some comfort.

I have found so much comfort from the lovely ladies on this thread and I’m hoping for lots of BFPs in coming months!

I am so sorry that yesterday didn't give you any answers @marmitecheesetoast ❤️ it's absolutely heartbreaking. Please don't apologise - you really don't need to, this space is for us all to safely share how we feel. Don't feel you need to put a brave face on this, not for us or for anyone else. As @Mumlili9 said, we're all here for you xxx

Thank you @SomeBunnyovertheRainbow and @Mumlili9 for your thoughts - it's been whirring round my head. I called the clinic this morning and the contract doesn't start until August, so having a bit of clarity helped. I know we won't start straight away as my period will be due the last week of July (typical!) but I really feel that I need a ttc break. When I think about a break I feel calmer, when I think about ttc I feel anxious. I don't want to jeopardise this opportunity and having ivf will give us a chance to look in detail at my eggs and his sperm (well not us, but you know what I mean) and I'll have progesterone, which the rmc and my GP won't prescribe until I've had another loss, having that support is something we've never tried before. So even though there's no guarantees it'll work and it's more of a wait, I'm feeling that it is the right thing for me right now.
So, I've got around 6 weeks to lose 8lbs to get to my target weight and focus on myself.

Hope everyone is OK xx

SomeBunnyOvertheRainbow · 16/06/2020 10:39

@marmitecheesetoast 💗

@VenusStarr That sounds sensible. Focussing only yourself can only be a good thing for your physical and mental health, which will put you in a really good position to start IVF x

@marmitecheesetoast - so sorry to hear you didn’t get any answers. Uncertainty about something so fundamental is very hard to deal with.

FloDaffodil · 17/06/2020 15:54

I’m going to go for a 7 week scan on Friday but I already know it’s game over for this pregnancy. I had some spotting and cramps last week which seemed to settle down but yesterday I woke up to more spotting and all pregnancy symptoms had gone. I called two EPUs and neither of them will let my husband come in the room with me for the scan. I cannot imagine having to get the bad news on my own. It’s going to be awful. Especially as this is my 7th miscarriage.

FloDaffodil · 17/06/2020 16:31

The other thing I’m so angry about is that I called and emailed the recurrent miscarriage clinic a week and a half ago asking for the results of tests I had done in March which they never gave me the results from. They finally called me back yesterday, after it was already too late, and said I should be taking heparin. If they’d told me that a week and a half ago maybe I wouldn’t have lost this baby.

VenusStarr · 17/06/2020 18:33

I'm sorry you've had poor care from your recurrent miscarriage clinic @FloDaffodil - have they arranged the scan or is that eith your epu? I hope that Friday brings good news 💕

How is everyone? @SomeBunnyovertheRainbow @Mumlili9 @Esssa @marmitecheesetoast xx

SomeBunnyOvertheRainbow · 17/06/2020 18:59

@FloDaffodil I hope it’s not bad news. Spotting and cramping are
Not necessarily a bad sign and it’s common for pregnancy symptoms to come and go. I’m sorry your husband can’t be there with you when you have your scan. I’ll be thinking of you.

@VenusStarr I’m ok thanks for asking. Had my counselling session today with the woman I saw last year before I went back to work. I found it helpful to talk to someone and almost more helpful to have time set aside in the diary to talk to someone. How are you?

I hope everyone else is ok 💕

Mumlili9 · 17/06/2020 19:11

@VenusStarr hello I wish I could be as sensible as your being. Not long to go now though.
@FloDaffodil fx crossed it's not what you think hun. Would you consider putting in a complaint?
@SomeBunnyOvertheRainbow glad your session went well x

As for me I'm 6dpo and have nothing going on except very high temps, I hate the two it gets my brain.

Esssa · 17/06/2020 21:45

Im in the boring bit after the required effort has been put in but before the crazy symptom spotting has kicked in. I'm 3dpo today so far too early for symptoms. I'm just waiting. Still slightly peeved at oh and only dtd 3 times and only 2 of them at a good point in my cycle. But it's better than nothing.

@FloDaffodil I'm hoping they've lifted some restrictions by the time I hopefully get to scans . I had a mmc picked up at my 12 week scan and can't imagine being there on my own. I really hope its not as you think.

Sakura54 · 17/06/2020 22:47

@marmitecheesetoast I hope them not finding anything wrong means it was a one-off and that your next pregnancy will be successful. I can’t imagine the pain you must be feeling and what you’ve been through.

@VenusStarr For me, I think I would feel weird trying to prevent getting pregnant as it’s not that simple, so would probably DTD casually and not worry about tracking? But of course if using protection will make you feel calmer then it’s a good idea for you to take a breather.

@Mumlili9 FWIW I find it reassuring that sperm can live up to 5 days, but can understand your frustration after all your efforts tracking. Lovely rainbow pic! It’s great that you guys are going to be more positive. Personally, I detach myself emotionally when pregnant. Being realistic really helped me protect myself. It’s just the whole ‘missed’ part of the MMC that messed things up. At the same time, though, I didn’t really believe I would MC seeing as my SIL and brother just had one a few months before me.

Good luck for Friday @FloDaffodil I was alone when I found out about my MMC the other month and waited a while to see the doctor afterwards, while DH was jamming in the car for hours completely oblivious. I suppose I preferred being on my own as it meant I was able to keep totally composed as I’m not the type to show emotion in public. So it was ok that he wasn’t allowed in, but obviously not an experience I would like repeated.

I’m on CD24 so still patiently waiting for 2nd AF to show...hopefully on time so that I know what's what. That heavy feeling down below I had last week disappeared so who knows if it was ovulation or just a weird, dodgy tummy lol.

Kangaroo77 · 18/06/2020 07:31

Morning ladies. I got faint bfp this morning. I'm 42 and lost a baby in March at 16 weeks to trisomy 9. I've been really taking care of myself these past months so I'm praying for a healthy rainbow 🌈 baby. 🤞🏻. I'm 10dpo today and used digital opks this month. I'm going to surprise my fiancée on Father's Day with the news assuming the line keeps getting darker. Xxx

Mumlili9 · 19/06/2020 21:26

Hello ladies bfn this morning but it's still early I'll try again in a couple of days. How are you all getting along?

SomeBunnyOvertheRainbow · 19/06/2020 21:50

@Esssa It only takes one time 🤞

Congratulations @Kangaroo77

Hope you’re ok @Sakura54 @FloDaffodil @VenusStarr

@Mumlili9 I’m ok thanks. Just exhausted so glad it’s the weekend! How many DPO are you?

FloDaffodil · 19/06/2020 22:59

Thanks for messages @VenusStarr @Mumlili9 @Sakura54 @Esssa @SomeBunnyOvertheRainbow. Unexpectedly the scan at EPU showed things were okay right now. But had some more red spotting this evening which put a downer on things. I’ve got a few weeks past this point before and it’s still gone wrong so not taking anything for granted.

Wishing you all good luck for all of you in the 2ww.

@Kangaroo77 - fingers crossed for you.

SomeBunnyOvertheRainbow · 19/06/2020 23:21

@FloDaffodil The scan is a really good sign but I can understand why you’re worried and I hope this works out for you 🤞 It is hard being so hopeful and so worried at the same time

VenusStarr · 20/06/2020 09:39

@FloDaffodil I'm pleased that things are looking good right now, today you are pregnant ❤️ have you got another scan booked? Sending you lots of love xx

@Mumlili9 sorry to hear you had a bfn - have you tested again today?

@Kangaroo77 🍀

@SomeBunnyovertheRainbow I'm finding the weeks are flying by, glad it's the weekend too - hoping we get some nice weather again.

@Sakura54 I hope your cycle does settle quickly. I found after my MMCs mine did, but strangely after my early loss this year they've been a bit off.

Some good news, I have a telephone consultation on Tuesday about my nk cells testing result. Going to write a list of questions.

Thinking of you @marmitecheesetoast 💕

I always find the first week of the tww uneventful and seems to pass quite quickly @Esssa, the second week however 👀 👀

Has anyone got anything nice planned this weekend? Xx

Esssa · 20/06/2020 23:50

Glad everything is going well for you so far @FloDaffodil and @Kangaroo77. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

@SomeBunnyOvertheRainbow the 2 days before ovulation where the ones we got so I'm quietly hopeful.

@VenusStarr the first week has flown by. Now for the week where I dither over whether it's too soon to test or not Blush

Mumlili9 · 21/06/2020 15:22

@VenusStarr hi yes tested again today blazing bfn. Gutted tbh. But that seems to be my lot nothing but pain and disappointment. Good news about your telephone appointment. Hope it's good news

VenusStarr · 21/06/2020 17:35

I am sorry @Mumlili9 ❤️ when is af due? Its really hard xx

@Esssa definitely try to hold off if you can 🤞 when are you expecting af?

Mumlili9 · 21/06/2020 18:25

@venusstarr it's due in 3 days. So I'll pray things change before then but it's not likely.

How are you ?

Esssa · 21/06/2020 18:28

Finally got most of the decking painted and bending over isn't the most comfortable. Feeling a bit bloated and aware of my uterus.

@VenusStarr next Sunday I think. Would kind of like to know if my period is coming though my temps will tell me I suppose. Also like to know if its a chemical as I have had hyper fertility mentioned in the past. I'd be surprised by a bfp as this is the first month trying.

@Mumlili9 10dpo is still early, you aren't out yet!

VenusStarr · 21/06/2020 18:36

@Esssa my temps have been strange since my chemical, they stayed high one month but my period started then dropped about cd3. I stopped testing last cycle as I get obsessed trying to look for signs. Im in 2 minds about knowing early - last cycle really upset me getting positives then af arriving on time - I had a delayed reaction as it didn't hit me until after af had finished. Got my fingers crossed for you 🍀

@Mumlili9 I agree, it's still a bit early, are you going to keep testing?

Esssa · 21/06/2020 18:49

@VenusStarr thanks. I haven't been pregnant for over 2 years so I'm hoping its all textbook 🤞I think it being the first month I'm not expecting it anyway but I am super nosey and can't help myself. Following months I'd be more likely to hold off and just wait for af.

Mumlili9 · 21/06/2020 18:58

@venusstarr @Esssa I probably will as i have a real poas problem. Thing is by 10 dpo ( i know my chart say 9dpo but I'm convinced I'm 10 dpo) with every pregnancy i had a positive by 10dpo so I'm not holding out hope. Though my chart does look good this cycle and there the best temps I've had since 2018.

Your temps are looking really good @Mumlili9 I know what you're saying about being 10dpo but I would go by the app I think, I've got hope for you 💕🌈
