Hello everyone,

I am 37 going on 38 in December. TTC baby number 3. Came off the pill on the 1st may (2020). Previously I was on syanna press( depo).
I ovulated yesterday 😊
I only just finished my period on the 9th so didn't expect ovulation just yet. Also I am very new to using ovulation test. This is my second time using it. I am using the easy@home brand.
I have two boys ages 15 and 3years.❤️

Please join on this journey with me, so we can cheer each other up, share advice and information etc..

Good luck to all. FlowersSmile

Hi Muda.

AF should be due for me around about the 28th. Havent got my hopes up for this month though to be honest.
Not cut anything out of my diet but I am taking Folic Acid tablets daily and have been for quite a while.
No chance I could go caffiene free!!! Well done!!!
How long have you been trying for?
I feel the same as you, wondering if I've left it too late - we're the same age.

Lemonlimeorange · 18/05/2020 12:56

Flutterby thanks so much x

Muda · 18/05/2020 15:09

@Happyhappy37 @Musiceverywhere I feel you both, I lost a couple of stone last
Year and it’s all back 😭 I am really struggling with eating healthy at the moment.

@Flutterby8
The caffeine withdrawal gave me some right bangers of a headache for a few days and I was a 7-8 Cups of tea/coffee kinda gal. Don’t feel too bad now though apart from decaff tea is weak as!
We weren’t using any kind of protection for a couple of years and just went with the if it happens it happens and it didn’t so we started trying properly and have been for the past 7 month. How about you?

Kangaroo77 · 18/05/2020 15:21

@MrsTtobe should be due on 26th-27th. A while yet 😂. Halfway through 2ww!

Kangaroo77 · 18/05/2020 15:23

Thanks @Happyhappy37 I should've known it was way too early. Hope you're feeling ok.

Flutterby8 · 18/05/2020 15:37

@Muda You have done so well cutting out he caffeine!! I have tried decaf tea and agreed, it is weak!! I'm more of a yorkshire tea, brew it to death girl so I cant see me changing anytime soon!
Have been getting more exercise in recently though as I am on furlough from work.
I stopped taking the pill just over 2 years ago due to constant migraines and high BP. It was more through the doctors advice and worry and less because of TTC.
We havent been 'careful' during that time but no signs of pregnancy. One poss chemical earlier this year but that wasnt confirmed.
My cycles can be a bit all over the show to be honest, no two months are the same. I've had bloods and ultrasound scans which were normal so that is encouraging. Early menopause is a factor within the family though.
I'm making an effort to try to understand my body a bit more so hoping I just had terrible timing before 😂.
If things don't happen I will be packing DH off to the doctors when the re-open I think!

Lynnysong · 18/05/2020 15:59

I'm not alone, lol, I was doing sooo well and the couple of stone are definitely here again. Such a nuisance.

I've cut back on caffeine a bunch and I'm trying to eat more fruit and veg. Plus taking vitamins and stuff. Looking into supplements we'll see. :)

If it doesn't work out this cycle I need a serious rethink. The guy I was sort of "with" won't be around now. He's lost his job, so can't visit now and wasn't right for me anyway. I'm looking to see someone else.

I know it was mentioned by someone earlier in the thread but I'm looking into getting a sperm donor while I save up the money to get ivf with donor eggs. That's the game plan. Was a bit upset about the whole thing this morning but that won't help in the long run. Need to make a plan, relax and get on with things. :)

MrsTtobe · 18/05/2020 16:31

@Muda my AF now, CD 4 so just want it out the way so I can 'get on with it' 😂 it's my first one, 6 weeks after a miscarriage so it's a pretty heavy one. It's crap. 😔

@Lynnysong oh no. That's rubbish for you to be going through that now on top of the stress of wanting a baby too. I really hope you're ok. You can vent to us as much as you like.

Lynnysong · 18/05/2020 16:31

I hope I've not shocked everyone, it is hard for me to talk about :( I want a kid and it might be too late. I've been crying on and off for the last few days. :(

MrsTtobe · 18/05/2020 16:34

You've certainly not shocked me @Lynnysong
I know of a couple of girls that have used sperm doners and one of them was only 24. It wasn't that she was 'running out of time' it was just her choice and that's fine.
Life is too short to judge or worry what people think. Imagine how boring the world would be if we all looked the same, followed the same path etc.
Don't worry and please try not to be upset. I hate thinking of people upset. 😥 Xx

Lynnysong · 18/05/2020 16:36

@MrsTtobe thank you for your support, it really helps. He's better off away. I've got a socially distant walking date to go on at some point this week. So if af arrives I'm just going to have some wine, pizza and pamper myself rotten :)

Then eat healthy and start exercising again. I've got as much chance with a donor egg as a younger person. I'm not giving up lol

Lynnysong · 18/05/2020 16:38

@MrsTtobe aw thank you x

MrsTtobe · 18/05/2020 17:14

@Lynnysong you're welcome.
A socially distant walking date sounds very interesting. 😂 My best friend is on Tinder and some of the dates she has had have had me in stitches. Have you been seeing said partner for some time?

Yes because ive had AF I've been particularly naughty. Ive had alcohol, coffee, pate - all the things you can't have pregnant. 😂 I will be good again starting from tomorrow 😬

Happyhappy37 · 18/05/2020 17:28

@Lynnysong do what makes you happy. We are all here for you.

I am starving today. Is It just me??
This usually happens if am coming down with a cold.

Lynny huge respect and admiration for going out and following your dream. I think you're amazing x

msanne · 18/05/2020 18:15

Hi Ladies,

Wanted to join this train if that's ok - I'm 37 too - will be 38 in December - eek! We are also trying to conceive baby no. 3 after a termination at 15 weeks (due to Edwards syndrome). Have 2 healthy, non-complicated pregnancies beforehand and now terrified of the whole process (getting pregnant and carrying to term)!

AF is due on 23rd so am on tenterhooks waiting to test. I have days where I am certain I have all the symptoms and other days when I feel none. So not sure whether this month has taken or not - but wanted to join you ladies for this journey, the ups and downs and all the exciting ways we are GOING to make this happen!

Much love xoxo

Lynnysong · 18/05/2020 19:00

@msanne I'm so sorry for your loss and so happy you're here. xx

Thank you everyone for sharing your stories and giving me support and hope. I'm going to be brave and test tomorrow morning. I feel crampy, been like that for a bit now and I'm not normally before af fx
Lots of baby dust for us all x

Lynnysong · 18/05/2020 19:03

@Lemonlimeorange wow thank you, I've got to try. Got everything crossed for you fx :)

Kangaroo77 · 18/05/2020 19:10

@msanne sorry for you loss 🙁. If it helps I'm here on my second cycle since termination at 16 weeks for Trisomy 9. Hoping for a fresh chance with my next bfp. Scary isn't it. I'm terrified 😬.

How many dpo are you? I'm 8 and have a few symptoms too but it feels too good to be true.

How is everyone else doing? I've got terrible trapped wind pains tonight. Horrible. I can hardly walk 😫. Waiting for pizza delivery which will definitely make it worse 😂🤦🏻‍♀️.

Kangaroo77 · 18/05/2020 19:11

@Lynnysong you deserve this bfp as much as any of us. I hope it's your month!! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

msanne · 18/05/2020 19:21

Thankyou ladies for such a warm welcome :)

Good luck @Lynnysong for your BFP tomorrow! Willing it to happen for you!

@Kangaroo77 - I am sorry for your loss too. These trisomies have been a really eye opener - I only really "knew" about Downs before...didn't know that there were ones that were "incompatible with life" - man, I hate that term! My whole experince of delivering in the hospital was horrible, due to the current pandemic and it is something I wouldn't wish on anyone. However, having been through all of this now, there is an immense amount of comfort knowing that these shitty things happen and there are success stories that follow - and we are all going to be one!!

I am currently 8 or 9 DPO (not exactly sure which day I ovulated). CD 24 of 28 for me. I was hoping that I may get a BFP this morning, but the test came back negative. So either I tested too early or we will have to try again next cycle.

Big hugs xoxo

Lynnysong · 18/05/2020 19:23

@Kangaroo77 I will let you guys know tomorrow morning I'm just watching tv this evening. Not going to be much use until I find out lol fx

Kangaroo77 · 18/05/2020 19:39

Exciting @Lynnysong 👏🏻 I can't wait to hear. And thanks @msanne - let's hope you're just testing too early. I had a bfn this am too so we're bfn buddies! Hopefully bfp buddies next xxx

musiceverywhere · 18/05/2020 19:40

@Kangaroo77 and @msanne so sorry to hear of your difficult losses previously. It must so be incredibly hard, it's very brave to keep trying after that experience.
@Lynnysong definitely no judgement here- you're doing what you need to, good luck for tomorrow! 🤞🏻 (hope I've got the names right!)
Think having IUD removed on CD2 is meaning AF is dragging on....Still having spotting etc. Will keep trying OPK in case it's 'old blood' as don't want to miss the smiley face. Smile
