Hello everyone,

I am 37 going on 38 in December. TTC baby number 3. Came off the pill on the 1st may (2020). Previously I was on syanna press( depo).
I ovulated yesterday 😊
I only just finished my period on the 9th so didn't expect ovulation just yet. Also I am very new to using ovulation test. This is my second time using it. I am using the easy@home brand.
I have two boys ages 15 and 3years.❤️

Please join on this journey with me, so we can cheer each other up, share advice and information etc..

Good luck to all. FlowersSmile

Hi @Lesmare12 and welcome! I'm a few months off 40 and TTC #2 more than 6 yrs after #1. I wanted to try sooner but DH wasn't keen... Long story! Anyway here we are. AF right now, start of cycle #2
I'm using the ClearBlue OPK also- only 1 cycle so far but I found it v useful but it's expensive!
@Happyhappy37 thank you for the positive mood and well done on exercise.
@Lynnysong whoop! for your temp rises 👍
Finally made it home and to sofa. Hopefully today was the worst of AF.

musiceverywhere · 05/06/2020 19:48

@Matilda19 bedroom sounds lovely. Carpet can get pricey though so I'd prob go for something fairly neutral. Chocolate brown?

Lynnysong · 05/06/2020 20:41

@musiceverywhere aw thank you :) I think chocolate brown sounds nice, I got a beige carpet years back and it's a right nuisance lol

Lynnysong · 05/06/2020 20:49

@sleeeeeepy I use the Femometer app and I've discovered it doesn't pick up the lines if I put the flashlight on. Don't know if that would help :)

claireb707 · 05/06/2020 20:55

@Sleeeeeepy I sometimes try and try and try taking photos on the femometer app, if you shake or slightly miss lining up the control it will give you varying amounts. I've had one that gave me 0, 30, 80 and over 100 for the same strip. The lighting and background definitely make a difference too

Sleeeeeepy · 05/06/2020 20:59

Thanks @Lynnysong I think I've just got wobbly hands, probably all the daytime drinking I've been doing (I wish lol) I couldn't work out if the flashlight made it better or worse so good to know 😊

Sleeeeeepy · 05/06/2020 21:03

That makes me feel better @claireb707 thanks! It seems really hard, but I've been trying to do it in the bathroom and get shadows so it's tricky, maybe I'll try somewhere else

claireb707 · 05/06/2020 21:06

@Sleeeeeepy a white background and Bright natural if poss light helps I've found and trying to hold your phone as still as possible. Which sounds easy but it seems really hard to do 😂😂

Sleeeeeepy · 05/06/2020 21:20

@claireb707 It's so hard isn't it 😂 I think I've got it lined up then the picture is all over the place

Bellabubble · 05/06/2020 21:45

@Sleeeeeepy I have heard good things about the fermometer app too! I found it got more consistent when I made sure I placed the strip in the same place each time for the photo! I try to get lots of natural light if I can too which helped me out (it’s a bit easier now the eves are lighter lol!) x

Matilda19 · 05/06/2020 22:20

@musiceverywhere oh yes! Good idea with colour x

M4v3r1ck · 05/06/2020 22:31

Hey ladies,

Sorry I've been quiet this week - crazy busy in work and it's my fertile window! 😉

Welcome to the newbies! 😃 Can't remember who knows, but I'm 35 (36 next month) and this is my first time TTC! Just had my mirena out a couple of weeks ago! I'm still on the clueless side with everything, but the ladies here have been great and so supportive, and I'm learning loads! 😃 😘

Exercise-wise I try and get a lunchtime walk every day if possible, as I sit at a desk all day! Been doing the les mills classes online about three times a week as gym is closed, and really enjoying those! It's also free for 60 days btw! 😃 Lots of Pilates etc type workouts which I think is good for pregnancy preparation! 😃

Sending lots of baby dust your way and happy weekend to everyone! 😘

musiceverywhere · 05/06/2020 23:05

Hi @M4v3r1ck ! Hope you have lots of fun during your fw! I'm in middle of first AF post- Mirena and have decided if we are lucky enough to conceive and have another child, I'm getting another Mirena put in before I leave the hospital! Forgot how awful my heavy periods are, and really feeling the PMS effects without Mirena. Had full on meltdown last night, sobbing, then was fine an hour later Confused And am so tired all the time.
Hope you're feeling ok after yours removed?Good luck DTD and TWW!

M4v3r1ck · 06/06/2020 07:55

@musiceverywhere oh no! How awful! 😳 I hope you've got a weekend of choc, hot water bottles, and plenty of TLC planned! Sending virtual hugs! 😘

Yup, I'd forgotten how heavy I was without the coil (especially after so many years)! I've been getting more cramping and mood swings outside of AF too... 🤔

Matilda19 · 06/06/2020 09:22

@musiceverywhere virtual hugs im the same didnt realise and was so used to implant periods forgot what they are like.
Fingers crossed we get a nice long 9 month break soon xx

Happyhappy37 · 06/06/2020 11:57

Matilda19 · 06/06/2020 12:35

Ok guys can I ask advice

Do you count cycle day 1 from first sight of af or when its bright red

Sorry if to much info

Just not sure if im doing it right x

Sleeeeeepy · 06/06/2020 12:37

First sight @Matilda19

Hope you're all having good Saturdays, I'm so glad it's the weekend! What are you all up to?

musiceverywhere · 06/06/2020 13:12

Morning all! @Happyhappy37 hope work is ok- sucks working at weekend.
@Matilda19 I think if you have regular cycles then it would be first sight, but like me you're just off hormones so I've started from my first day of sustained flow as I had 2 days of red/brown spotting and then a day of nothing. It's definitely on now though.
Dread to think what state my uterine lining is in from the look of what I'm losing. Need to find some iron supplements....

farfromperfect82 · 06/06/2020 13:14

Hi there 👋🏼 i thought I would join in, I'm 37 and ttc no.1. Been trying properly eg time DTD since February. I ovulate between 18-21 days. This month Ava told me 18 and Natural Cycles told me 21. I got the positive LH surge at 20 and flashing smiley for 4 days before. DTD everyday from day 16-21. My luteal 12-13 days. AF due today - no sign - and temp is increasing 3 days in row (which never happens, normally drops 2 days before AF), lots of CM, a bit of nausea, bleeding gums (v random!), some shortening of breath (prob unfit due to lock down lol), darker nips, weirdly less moody and bloated than normal, soreish boobs but not as sore as normal. Short sharp headaches everyday from around ovulation which is unusual but maybe cause of the heat. I tested (12 days DPO) today but BFN.Confused is anyone else in the same boat?

Can I ask are you supposed to use FMW (first morning wee) to test? I didn't, and wonder if it was that. Maybe there is still hope!

I've been trying TCM, herbs and acupuncture, not sure if anyone has tried that or had success? It's all quite a bit of work so wondering if it's worth it!

Taking ubiquinol for egg qual (partner taking for sperm qual too) and reishi to keep me calm as heard stress really reduces chances. Plus all the usual supplements. Doing yoga most days. Any tips or advice welcome. It will be my first child at 37 (almost 38) met my soul mate late in life and desperate to make us a family x

farfromperfect82 · 06/06/2020 13:29

Oh and lower back pain. Twinges for several days now. Quite different to period pains.

Apologies for symptom spotting!

@lesmare12 hello to a fellow newbie! 👋🏼

Lynnysong · 06/06/2020 13:48

@farfromperfect82 the temps certainly sound promising, hope you get a bfp soon, yeah first morning for the test so hope it is that fx

That's ovulation confirmed for me, three natural high temps, it's up at 36.74 today!! Yay :) Much better temps that last cycle. Think the soy is brilliant. So I'm starting the cream but not taking as much this cycle. It's just in case.

Got some calc fluor to try as well and lots of healthy food, went for a long walk today and even ran for a bus lol. I'm all set, going to meditate later and just relax. I spent yesterday being half asleep lol

Good luck everyone x

farfromperfect82 · 06/06/2020 14:08

Hey @lynnysong

farfromperfect82 · 06/06/2020 14:10

@Lynnysong posted too soon!

Yes fingers crossed

Very interested in soy, what are you taking specifically and when? I also don't think my luteal phase temp is high enough (36.5-6 luteal vs follicular phase at 36.00-36.1) so wonder if something that warmed up up could help
