Starting TTC again after missed miscarriage

Hi,
Just ovulated for the first time after my missed miscarriage at 13 weeks (baby had stopped growing at 6-7) and wondered if anyone wanted to keep me company while we go through the ups and downs of ttc all over again! ! Xx

@Sakura54 I was testing weekly in my last pregnancy. Bought CB Digital How Many Weeks to monitor if HCG was rising weekly and it was which gave me peace of mind until I was around 6 weeks. Personally I found weeks 7-10 the hardest. For some reason I didn't go for a private scan, whuch I regret. Obviously my last pregnancy ended up being blighted ovum and I had MVA at just shy of 13 weeks, but that's pretty rare. I think looking back, I'd still test weekly till 6 weeks as I did before and then have a private scan. It gave me the right balance between testing and reassurance.

Thanks for the support guys! @workingmama1 that does make complete sense when you think about it like that!

Just got out this morning's test again to compare and now it's dried out it does look clearer I think! Starting to wonder if this might be a thing ... 🤞🤞🤞.

Going to go against all your sensible advice and go to Superdrug on the way to the park and buy FRER and will probably take one later 🙊🙄

@purplepansy ... I regret not having the early scan last time too. No idea why I was so anxious with my DD and ironically not at all really with the MMC pregnancy 😔

@Smilingdonkey I see the line! I deffo think this is real for you - I am so so happy for you!

@Sakura54 wooo congratulations to you too that is a very strong line!

I am only 7dpo but having weird cramps and twinges so I'm just crazy symptom spotting 😂 of course I POAS but was negative as it's too early so will most likely continue to POAS until my AF comes as I am a crazy lady ready to see a second line, and have 0 self control.

Workingmama1 · 25/06/2020 15:27

@Sakura54 I also tested weekly once I had a nice clear line on a normal test i then used the CB digital weeks indicator to check that it progressed to 3+. My husband thought I was mad but it reassured me (but it still all went wrong last time!) I'd probably do the same again with an early scan around 8 weeks.

@Smilingdonkey I can see a line! Let us know how you get on with the FRER, I cant tell you to wait until tomorrow or even better Saturday as I know I would crack at do it today!

Threnody · 25/06/2020 17:45

@Smilingdonkey I can see a line, definitely. Looking forward to seeing your next test!

I always keep testing
I test early, so keep testing to see line progression, then use a cb digital to find out weeks and wait for that to go up. Then I sometimes carry on testing, just to check!

Poppy10121 · 25/06/2020 18:13

@Smilingdonkey I can see it too, fingers crossed!! Love seeing the positive stories on this thread :-)

It’s never occurred to me to test so much but may be following your leads next time (hoping there’s a next time anyway!!)

Smilingdonkey · 25/06/2020 18:37

Well I'm testing constantly like a nutter! But I'm pretty confident it progressing now. Two days ago I took a FRER and there was a vvvvfl with FMU and Ives just got this with evening wee ... 🤞 I just need it to stick now!

I'm 9dpo according to app/temps but I think I am more like 10dpo if not more according to EWCM and cramps ...

Not told DP yet - is it weird to want to keep it to myself for a bit? I can't explain why? I just need to process it all and see if it all turns out ok.

Just got a positive pregnancy test after two miscarriages this year. Nervous and excited.

Threnody · 25/06/2020 18:46

@Smilingdonkey - I love a bit of poas pron! :-)
I understand not telling dh, with a couple of my pregnancies I waited a day or so until the line was darker and I felt more settled with the idea.

Ranoutofgoodnames · 25/06/2020 19:03

@Sakura54 WOOHOO 🎉 that is lovely news!!! Stay calm. And if you do tell me how you do it.

@Smilingdonkey I respect your right to pee on sticks but totally and hypocritically recommend not. I have done it this time and did it last time. It doesn’t make any difference it seems to me in terms of the actual result.

@Vik81 congrats!!! Exciting times xx

I have my scan tomorrow. Unless I ovulated later than I think I did then I suspect it shal be ttc again soon - but am trying to feel not to sad and more like if it’s good news great if not then ok sad but also it’s a journey and this is but one step

But

Fuck me I don’t want bad news

Workingmama1 · 25/06/2020 19:04

@Smilingdonkey I can see it clear as day on the first photo. I can understand not wanting to tell your DP just yet, I'm not sure what I will do when I (hopefully) get to see two lines again. Also amazing you got a faint line so early!

@Vik81 exciting! How many DPO are you?

Workingmama1 · 25/06/2020 19:05

@Ranoutofgoodnames will be thinking of you tomorrow with my fingers crossed for good news. How many weeks should you be now?

Smilingdonkey · 25/06/2020 19:06

@ranoutofgoodnames I have everything crossed for you tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you. What time is your scan? Xxxx

OP posts:
Ranoutofgoodnames · 25/06/2020 19:12

@Workingmama1 and @Smilingdonkey thank you xxx

Scan is about half two I think. My husband can’t come to that or the follow up consultation with my doctor but I am hoping I can call him so he can listen. I still don’t have any symptoms at all and I took a clear blue digital test and it still says 2-3 and I think I should be up to 3+ now (so please don’t keep testing as it drives you mad!) so I guess the hcg hasn’t gone up much. I have also been googling and low hcg levels can indicate chromosome problems eg trisomy 13 which is what happened last time. But equally it could all be fine I know! I guess my age and the fact that I only had my last miscarriage mid-April makes it all feel inevitable

Although I should only be about 5 weeks plus five days so I am also concerned she won’t be able to tell anything conclusively from the scan

But you know. Staying positive 😂😂😂

xxx

Threnody · 25/06/2020 19:24

@Vik81 congratulations, how exciting, everything crossed for you.

@Ranoutofgoodnames - will be thinking of you tomorrow. That's rubbish your husband can't come with you, I really think some of these measures are a bit extreme. Everything crossed for good news.

itssquidstella · 25/06/2020 20:25

Congratulations @Sakura54 and @Smilingdonkey!

I had a bfn this morning and boobs are much less sore, so I think the vvfl might have been residual hcg from the miscarriage or just possibly a chemical. I haven't come on my period yet but starting to feel like it might be imminent.

I've got an appointment for some blood tests which I can book as soon as I come on, so at least I have something to focus on; if there's a reason for my two mcs then I'd like to know so I can find out what treatment, if any, might be necessary.

itssquidstella · 25/06/2020 20:27

@Ranoutofgoodnames I'll be thinking of you tomorrow.

Vik81 · 25/06/2020 21:33

I'm about 5 weeks, due 26th Feb. I had severe morning sickness HG with my first child, and I never felt that sick with the miscarriages. So my poor partner is currently dealing with oh I feel sick or oh I don't feel sick. Just crossing all fingers and toes this one sticks. Daffodil

Smilingdonkey · 26/06/2020 00:40

@itssquidstella in sorry to hear that. I had residual HCG even after a period and ovulation! It was crazy and really really stressful. I hope that's the end of that for you now though if you are getting negatives and that the blood tests are helpful xxxxxx

OP posts:
Smilingdonkey · 26/06/2020 00:44

@vik81 - no reason it won't but that's easy to say and less easy to remember I think 😊 I know I am already feeling anxious that this will be a chemical.

I had terrible morning sickness with my DD and it was bad, but not so bad, with the miscarriage. I hope I don't spend the whole first trimester (if it happens) in a state of panic if I don't feel sick 😩.

All in all if this one's sticky this is not going to be a relaxing few months! Xxxx

Starfish762 · 26/06/2020 10:11

@Vik81@Smilingdonkey congratulations! :)

@itssquidstella @Ranoutofgoodnames thinking of you both today, keep us posted.

After saying yesterday I’d randomly started bleeding, it stopped in the evening & this morning I got a flashing smiley (CD15). So feeling slightly more hopeful we could have a chance conceiving this month, but trying not to pin all my hopes on it. Even though you know it’s unrealistic to expect to get pregnancy in the first or second cycle you just can’t help praying you do. But I’m trying to enjoy this period of TTC before the TWW, coz that’s gonna drag!

Tiny bit of spotting today so far too, but I’m wondering if it’s off DTD. No cramps or any signs there’s retained tissue from the MVA. It’s all a guessing game I suppose Hmm

PurplePansy05 · 26/06/2020 10:28

@Starfish762 That's good news, you'll get the static soon or if not just keep DTD anyway. Sometimes LH surges are very short and they don't always get picked up as clearly as we'd hope for by OPKs.

@itssquidstella I'm sorry to hear this, lovely. What tests are you thinking about now?
