Starting TTC again after missed miscarriage

Hi,
Just ovulated for the first time after my missed miscarriage at 13 weeks (baby had stopped growing at 6-7) and wondered if anyone wanted to keep me company while we go through the ups and downs of ttc all over again! ! Xx

@Ranoutofgoodnames I’m so sorry the tests didn’t come back as you’d hoped, I’m sending all of the positive vibes for your scan on Friday and sending big hugs - can only imagine how tough it must be. And don’t worry about being low on here - we’re all here for everyone, good news, bad news and everything in between 💕

CD16 for me and I’m already so sick of TTC - I’m really impatient so just want to get to the part where we find out if I’m pregnant or not! Checked back on my Ovia app and when I conceived last time, I ovulated on CD19 (well, I think so, I had what I believe to be quite obvious ovulation pains and size on early scan would have fit me having a five week cycle) so got a few days yet if it follows the same pattern and then the TWW! I feel like I’ve just been wishing this year away - first of all with TTC then counting down to the 12 week scan, then counting down to each next scan, the medical management, the MVA, the test after three weeks, my next period and now back to the beginning... it’s exhausting!

@Ranoutofgoodnames sorry I think you posted as I was writing before. I've got everything crossed for a late ovulation for you, remember sperm can hang around for 5 days so if you dtd well.before ovulation that still counts. I've got everything crossed for you x

Well, I took another frer this morning and it was either negative or fainter than yesterday's (I could maybe see a glimmer but it might have been wishful thinking), so I'm thinking chemical. Will test again in a day or two but not feeling hopeful :(

I had the most sensitive nipples and some cramps last night, which Google and Ovia tell me could be signs of ovulation so fingers crossed there’s all sorts of magic going on in there now 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼 Would be slightly earlier than last time but still about right. Will continue to DTD regularly for a bit yet just in case but I guess this could tentatively maybe be the first day of my TWW... 😬

@Ranoutofgoodnames I hope you get your results soon, it’s so hard trying not to self diagnose things after googling but chances are things are moving along - fingers crossed!

@skyblue20 I know what you mean, 2020 has been sucked into a miscarriage vacuum for me so far, here’s hoping the second part of the year turns out better! I’m sick of thinking about TTC all the time :( I hope this cycle is your lucky one!

After waiting and waiting for any sign of ovulation I’ve now had a peak for over 24 hours!! The opposite of last month’s blink-and-you’ll-miss-it... so I guess another day of DTD today (it quickly gets exhausting doesn’t it!!)

OMG just got a vvvfl on a FRER (don't judge me for weeing on it 😭)!!! It's faint but pink I'm sure ...

I am worried it is still old HCG as I stopped testing using FR - but it's as faint as the last test where I had HCG from the MMC about 4 weeks ago (it was at 4 according to bloods.) MMC was nearly 10 weeks ago now ... Surely not still from then????

God this is traumatic.

Hi everyone. I've really been struggling following my MC and have kept away from all social media for a while. This thread has moved quite quickly!

@Workingmama1 I'm the same with the EWCM... there's no mistaking it! Although until genuinely starting TTC I didn't really know what it was!

So, after my MC on 28/05 I started OPKs as soon as I stopped bleeding. I got flashing smileys from 04/06 all the way to Saturday 13/06 when I got a static smiley. DH was working away all weekend and due to the pandemic the hotel wouldn't let me stay the night with him. He drove home after his 12 hour shift on the Sunday so we could try to make a baby! I was sure that we were too late and have been waiting for AF but then day before yesterday I noticed EWCM and the same yesterday so thought I'd do another Clearblue digital test and got another static smiley! We dtd last night and I tested again today (with a new tester and 3 cheapy strips) and got another static and three dark lines! We will definitely be having another go tonight to maximise our chances. I'm really pleased, but it means another TWW and you all know how excruciating those are. In the meantime I've been distracting myself in the garden, so if anyone wants any courgette or cabbage or celeriac plants, let me know

Thanks everyone. I keep sneaking a look at it in the draw. I will not tell DP unless I am sure I am pregnant ... I just feel I need to keep it quiet at the moment - it's so faint it is almost not there.

@ranoutofgoodnames - I am 8dpo ... Insane to test ... And to waste a FR too 😫 I have ordered some ICs to come tomorrow but I want to run down to the pharmacy below the flat and buy a load more tests right now! I won't - but I want to! How are things with you?

@Smilingdonkey I am ok! Have been very stressed about the low hcg and scan on Friday today - although in fact do think I maybe had a bit of nausea this afternoon which is making me feel a little bit more hopeful 🤞 I think I tested at 7 dpo and got a faint line - can happen xx

@skyblue20 you'd think after 10 weeks wouldn't you ... 🤞🤞🤞 but I trust in nothing anymore!

@ranoutofgoodnames that sounds promising .... I do think HCG levels can rise slowly ... What were the numbers? Xxxx

@Smilingdonkey 124 last Monday and 616 yesterday - doctor says it depends on when I ovulated for the results to be ok

I don’t know - the miscarriage was too recent for me to feel positive but I am trying to stay open minded at least

I’m just catching up after a busy long weekend for my daughter’s 3rd birthday

Feeling slightly out of my depth on here though with all the abbreviations! What’s TWW, FR & ICs?

Am I the only person on here who is literally just DTD every other day & hoping for the best? I tried the stick OPK’s last time for 2 cycles & barely noticed a difference in the colour of the lines, but reading all your expert comments I think the issue was I didn’t know what I was doing I started the clear blue digital testing each morning 5 days ago but nothing yet. We’re hoping DTD every other day will help, then when I get the digital smiley we’ll do it every day for 3 days.

It took us 3 months (4 cycles) to fall last time so I made a comment to my husband earlier about hopefully being pregnant by August & he was so negative & said I was unrealistic & shouldn’t be getting my hopes up. He’s right of course, but I don’t think I’d cope if I thought it could be 6-12 months (even though I know it could be).

@Starfish762 we’re also just DTD every other day and hoping for the best - I don’t feel ready to temp or use OPKs just yet. We got pregnant first month last time and this is first cycle back after the MMC so maybe if it takes a bit longer I will but until then, I could do without another thing to obsess over 🙈 I’d be annoyed by your OH’s response, too - my husband is too sensible/realistic/pessimistic at times too when I just want to be optimistic and although I know he means well, quite often it’s just not what you want to hear! Men 😤

@Snausage sorry times have been tough 😔 Bless your husband for driving home to DTD though! He’s a keeper! Good luck with the second ovulation, I don’t envy a second TWW though! Our bodies really are all over the place after these damn MMCs, aren’t they?! Sounds like you’ve been working wonders in the garden, I’m so in awe, I’m quite the opposite of green fingered!!

Just got in from a socially distanced picnic in the park with friends and it was so lovely! It’s late now though and today is a DTD day 😬 I try not to pressure my husband too much by letting him know key dates and whatnot, so that he can enjoy it and only one of us has the pressure, but I think tonight he may have to be told 😂🙈

@starfish I can't use the OPKs either ... I'm worried I would get obsessed too! All I do at the moment is temp to see when I am ovulating and I find that helpful and makes me feel a bit more in control - when I'm not really 🤣 I have found it useful in just getting to know my body again after the MMC which really messed me up physically and emotionally - I guess I felt like the 'missed' part of the miscarriage and then all the weeks of positive tests afterwards made me stop trusting my body.

@SkyBlue20 we were lucky enough to fall the first month with our daughter (now 3), like you, then it took 3 months/4 cycles with the one we lost, which I consider extremely lucky given how many people have struggles for years, it’s so sad & I constantly remind myself just how lucky I am, despite the MMC. But this is where the anxiety comes from with it happening again, like surely when so many people aren’t as lucky as that, I’m due something bad to happen to me again. Hopefully not, must try to stay positive!

@Smilingdonkey Thank you for the abbreviations! I agree my body is taking some time to readjust, it’s mad when you were so regular before, but hopefully it’ll settle down eventually. My period came 4 weeks after my MVA but was only 2 days & really light, plus 8 extra days of spotting!

Aghhh!!! I can see a line! Can you see it on the photo?! It is clearer in real life - stronger than yesterday's FR anyway!
Got ICs coming today so that will be the real test ....
