Starting TTC again after missed miscarriage

Hi,
Just ovulated for the first time after my missed miscarriage at 13 weeks (baby had stopped growing at 6-7) and wondered if anyone wanted to keep me company while we go through the ups and downs of ttc all over again! ! Xx

@Sakura54 I would have to test it's been only 2days since my peak and I'm ooo that's a twinge, ms crazy over here honestly!! Do you have any cheapies hanging about?

Poppy10121 · 21/06/2020 18:29

@Sakura54 those symptoms sound exciting!! I hope that you’ve managed to get pregnant before even trying that hard - sounds a much better position to be in!

I’m trying not to read too much into the ovulation tracking, I do drink a lot of water and have only been testing once a day, which is the same as I did last time I got pregnant and I never got a positive then either. Driving myself mad with trying to spot ovulation symptoms though Hmm

SkyBlue20 · 21/06/2020 21:09

@Sakura54 That’s sounding promising! Fingers crossed for you! Completely understand wanting to wait a few days before testing - I was the same last time, I didn’t test until 15DPO as was too nervous to and didn’t want to be unsure by my result. Wishing you all the luck when you do test!

Poppy10121 · 22/06/2020 08:18

Seems like maybe I wasn’t totally mad with spotting my ovulation signs - finally got positive OPK today! Seems to mean my cycles are getting a bit longer again but that’s no bad thing :-)
Feeling positive today as by chance have DTD the last 3 days in a row so hopefully we are in with a good chance this go...

Threnody · 22/06/2020 09:11

That's great @Poppy10121 fx for you!

@Sakura54 ooh, sounds interesting- fx for you too!

I had such a strange dream last night, started off I had to get a summer job at Safeway (!), then somehow oh and I were in some sort of uni dorm, and I'd just taken an opk, but dipped it too low, bit it came up positive, and I was panicked we'd missed our chance as we couldn't dtd in a dorm, then realised we couldn't stay there anyway as we had to come home for the children! First time I've dreamt about ttc! Obviously too obsessed at the moment.

Workingmama1 · 22/06/2020 11:11

@Sakura54 maybe the start of something!

Good news om ovulation @Poppy10121

Those of you using opks how long does it take to go back down once you have ovulated? Took one yesterday and today and it's not at peak but not sure if its going towards it or already happened. Annoyingly had more EWCM today so no idea what is going on!

Threnody · 22/06/2020 12:03

@Workingmama1 it depends, last month I got a peak in the afternoon, and back down the next morning, so if I was only testing once a day I'd have missed it I think. It going back down isn't related to whether or not you've ovulated, just that the lh surge is over.

Ranoutofgoodnames · 22/06/2020 12:32

Hello! Have had a bit of a stressful time - am on these progesterone supplements and they are pessaries that you insert with an applicator. Put one in yesterday afternoon and applicator had dark brown blood on it afterwards - tiny amount. Have just been for a blood test and will probably get the results in a couple of hours - not sure if she can tell from just one blood test though assume you need at least two to compare levels 🤷‍♀️

In the meantime I have done two further pregnancy tests. One a clear blue digital showing 2-3 weeks which is up from last week and one is a frer where the test line is darker than the control line. I have no idea what this tells me either but at least I did something I suppose

Hideously busy at work so at least that will distract me this afternoon...

Good luck to the ladies who are ovulating!!!!

PurplePansy05 · 22/06/2020 13:12

@Ranoutofgoodnames What progesterone pessaries are you using?

I never knew there are any that come with an applicator. I used Cyclogest and used to just stick it up my vagina using my fingers.

Maybe the applicator irritated your cervix hence the blood? It might happen. You could check if you can use your pessaries without the applicator or use them rectally rather than vaginally. Some women prefer that.

Smilingdonkey · 22/06/2020 15:20

My stupid phone keeps failing to post with a picture attached!

Ladies I am getting excited but know it will probably amount to nothing 😩

I am 7dpo (app says 6dpo but I'm pretty sure it happened earlier) and I have had period like cramps, twinges and what I can only describe as a sore uterus (!) For about 3 days. Yesterday I had about a minute of sharp repetitive pains in my right side... No spotting though.

My BBT charts looks like a possible implantation dip yesterday ...

@Ranoutofgoodnames sounds like the tests are good signs, fx the blood doesn't mean anything.

@Smilingdonkey ooh, exciting, when will you test?

Smilingdonkey · 22/06/2020 15:46

@ranoutofgoodnames let us know when you get your results xxx

Smilingdonkey · 22/06/2020 15:49

@threnody well I used an IC this morning (i'm insane I know!) And (obviously) nothing but what I'm pretty sure was an indent line. I want to say I will test again on Thursday at the earliest but I bet I test every morning until my period now 🤣

Thanks guys. I do have tests @mrsAndeke but I’ve only ever tested when AF was completely missed as that’s what I read we were supposed to do lol. I wasn’t aware of all this POAS before, during and after! Last time I was 98% certain I was pregnant as I had bad cramps, which I had the first time too, but I still waited. Maybe I’m just always in denial or something but I didn’t really know any better. I’m also wary because I wasn’t told to test after my MMC so never checked my HCG as I wasn’t rushing to TTC, although its been nearly 2 months so you’d assume it would have all gone...

As you guys know I’ve just been waiting and hoping 2nd AF comes on time so I’m a bit confused/surprised. I will update you when I'm brave enough to test, but will wait to see if AF shows first.

@Poppy10121 I agree that it’d be good to get pregnant without really trying, I’m just wary of all the stuff in my body from the eczema cream and nose spray. I only use small amounts so it’s probably fine. I’m going to stop it and switch to a safer one now which I was planning to do after 2nd AF. Also started back on folic acid yesterday.

Just been painting my garden fence and shed. Should have done it years ago really. To add to the exercise and size convo, I don’t exercise (unless you count pushing the buggy for an hours walk) so its a bit of a workout for me lol and can’t reach the tops as I’m 5 ft 3!

Threnody · 22/06/2020 18:50

@Smilingdonkey ah, a woman after my own heart! I always start testing at 8dpo and carry on until that bfp Grin. Though that's never been long for me, as I've had them at 9, 10 and 12 dpo!

Smilingdonkey · 22/06/2020 19:30

@threnody my DD was at 11dpo and the MMC at 10dpo ... Should be 9dpo this time no?!

OP posts:
itssquidstella · 22/06/2020 19:37

I had a vvvfl on an frer this morning. I'm anywhere between 8 and 11dpo so I'll test again tomorrow and cross my fingers it's getting darker. Nippled are still killing me!

Smilingdonkey · 22/06/2020 19:41

Yay!!!! This is most exciting !!! I have 1 FRER reserved for end of the week and one CB digital reserved for if I get a line on FRER! Otherwise it's ICs! 🤣

OP posts:
Smilingdonkey · 22/06/2020 19:42

What other symptoms do you have? X

OP posts:
Ranoutofgoodnames · 22/06/2020 20:42

My hcg levels are low unless I ovulated later than I think I did - and I don’t think so because we didn’t dtd at the right time in that case

Having a scan on Friday to see what’s going on....I am sorry I don’t want to taint this positive thread with negativity. I don’t feel particularly anything at the moment. I will be incredibly sad but I don’t know what will happen and I have kind of got to a point of thinking that a pregnancy is not a baby until a lot further on - so this is just the first step in a potentially long line of steps to get to a baby

Sorry ladies - in a bit of a slump - am trying to maintain some hope while also accepting that it might be bad news xx

Workingmama1 · 22/06/2020 20:45

Wow so exciting to check back in and see so many maybe pregnancy signs!

I was supposed to start couch to 5k today but we went on a family bike ride yesterday, my husband has been trying to get us all out for ages, my daughter loved it but I am so achy today I couldn't face running!

Smilingdonkey · 22/06/2020 20:53

@ranoutofgoodnames I'm so sorry it wasn't comforting news but HCG levels rise differently in everyone. I'm glad they are scanning you. Did you not say you got a 2-3 week CB test? I have everything crossed for you but if it's not good news we will be here to listen and understand. Xxxxxx

OP posts:
itssquidstella · 22/06/2020 20:58

@Smilingdonkey not much to be honest - I'm a bit bloated and weeing a bit more than usual but that's basically it! I wasn't expecting to fall so quickly after my last mc so haven't quite accepted it yet; obviously I really hope it sticks but I'm not getting too excited as I know there's so much potential for it to go wrong still.

Ranoutofgoodnames · 22/06/2020 21:15

@Smilingdonkey yes I did but I am worried that it stopped rising after the point it flipped from 1-2 to 2-3 if that makes sense? That should have been last week at some point I think so I don’t know if it got over that threshold and am now going back down.

Or if it is rising but not quickly enough.

At least this is a whole new research topic for google - there is A LOT to read out there about hcg levels 🤓
