Starting TTC again after missed miscarriage

Hi,
Just ovulated for the first time after my missed miscarriage at 13 weeks (baby had stopped growing at 6-7) and wondered if anyone wanted to keep me company while we go through the ups and downs of ttc all over again! ! Xx

@Workingmama1 I am easily obsessed but I found the digital opks made it a bit easier as there isn’t so much second guessing involved if that makes sense - no flashing face no chance flashing face get busy. Straight after a miscarriage I think
You can’t rely on it so much. But for me they stopped quite a lot of obsessive thinking - Horses for courses....I think the non-digital ones can be a bit harder as you have to identify the surge - I use them only once I have had a flashing smiley

I mean obviously I am obsessed though - just realised the above detailed explanation as to why I used them to avoid obsessing demonstrates exactly how obsessed I am 😂😂😂

Poppy10121 · 18/06/2020 12:16

@Ranoutofgoodnames I am fully obsessed too, I got the non-digital kind but with an app that helps to identify the darkness of the line - although the day I got the surge last cycle was obvious to see because it was a really dark line compared to control - the app shows the difference between a faint line and a very faint line, and a medium faint line... if that makes sense!

Like you, I don't know if I'd be any less obsessive without the OPKs or if I would be doing something instead like obsessively watching for EWCM or ovulation twinges! At first it felt good to be doing something, but I'm getting dispirited by no surge this month yet.

ew1990 · 18/06/2020 15:59

Hows everyone else doing today?

Still random bits of brown spotting for me. And to top it off I've think I've got thrush From wearing pads. 😩😩 I don't normally use them coz they don't agree with me

sabtom · 18/06/2020 17:06

CD9 post MVA, still dark red/brownish spotting for me too, thought it had stopped yesterday Angry but at least the cramps stopped a couple of days ago Grin

Chatbash72 · 18/06/2020 17:53

Hello ladies 👋
So sorry to hear you had similar experiences re health care during a M/C to me.. think there was an article on the itv news yesterday ( think at 6pm) about it.. one of the ladies I follow on insta posted about it.. it is really shocking because it doesn't matter how many days or weeks you are it's still a loss.. 🥺 sending big hugs 💕💕💕

itssquidstella · 18/06/2020 19:50

I'm CD 22 post MVA and I think I've ovulated at some point in the last week 😂 I didn't get cramps like I usually do or really obvious ewcm, but have had some fertile cm for about a week and my nipples are sore, which I'm assuming is from a post-ovulation progesterone surge.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up as the only two times I've ever had sore nipples post-ovulation were the cycles I fell pregnant, but those times I was certain that I'd ovulated whereas this time I'm just assuming...

Workingmama1 · 18/06/2020 22:40

So maybe the clear blue ones might stop an obsession, is that because you can only use them once a day?

I've still had EWCM so maybe haven't ovulated yet? Might try my luck with my husband tonight, he seems to be feeling much better Grin

Shame about the timing, we are off work next week so ovulating then would have been ideal! Pre MMC my only cycle between giving birth and getting pregnant was 31 days so I'd be surprised if I ovulated now at CD13 (I didnt get my first period until my daufhter was 13 months, had a second and I was on CD35 for the third before I twigged I could be pregnant instead of a long cycle!).

Threnody · 18/06/2020 23:27

Oh no @ew1990, hate thrush. Hope you feel better soon.

Fx for you @itssquidstella

I have bought clearblue opk to try out this month, going to start it tomorrow. I am completely addicted to poas, and I really like to know as much as I can, so I track everything I can, and have 3 apps on my phone! Grin

I've had a difficult couple of days, first a friend posted scan pics of her daughter, due less than a month after I would have been, so I felt sad, then guilty for feeling sad and not just happy for her (which I was as well) then one of the ladies on my baby group from my youngest has just had an MMC, and it's just brought it all back. It's something I hadn't really heard of, but it seems much more common than you think.

ew1990 · 18/06/2020 23:42

@threnody ive got cream so hope it works soon.

And I know what you mean. I went back to work after a week and had a breakdown so had another week off but talking about it at work most of the ladies I work with have had a MMC too. Really helped me talking to them. Hope you feel better soon

Ranoutofgoodnames · 19/06/2020 09:01

Morning ladies

@ew1990 really hope it is gone today! Hate that - get it really easily.

I managed to give myself a uti before my last pregnancy because I got paranoid about standing up to go to the loo after sex and losing all the sperm 😳😂

I am still here apparently pregnant, mostly without symptoms, no sticks to pee on as I am trying to break my obsession and wondering if the slight sharp pain I have on and off near my (cervix?? No idea just low “down there”) is good cramps or bad cramps.

It is so massively unfair that most of the symptoms could be any of period pregnancy or miscarriage. I try to describe things to my husband and he asks if it is good or bad and all I can do is shrug!

Good luck to ovulators!!

Smilingdonkey · 19/06/2020 12:17

@workingmama1 I read that you are most likely to ovulate on the last day of the EW/watery CM ... No idea how accurate that is but it makes sense I guess! Not helpful in predicting though really unless you notice a pattern in the number of days CM is watery ...

Ranoutofgoodnames · 19/06/2020 13:23

You know I am not convinced I have ever noticed ewcm. Pretty sure it must happen but never in an obvious way that some people seem to have it. Not sure if this is because I am older or just have some for a very short space of time.

SkyBlue20 · 19/06/2020 14:48

Afternoon all, happy Friday!

@Ranoutofgoodnames No, I don't think I've ever noticed EWCM either, though admittedly, I didn't really look as only took an interest in my cycle when TTC and then got PG first cycle. I don't even know what I would be looking for - is it just discharge or do you have to actively check?! No idea 🤷🏻‍♀️
Glad all seems to be ticking along ok with you - sure the pains are just expansion going on down there but understand it must be worrying. Sending positive thoughts your way.

@Workingmama1 Glad your husband is feeling a bit better - hope you managed to catch that ovulation!

@itssquidstella Fingers crossed for you - my nipples were my pregnancy give away, too and there's really no missing it, is there?! Sounds like a positive sign for you 🤞🏼

@ew1990 @RosieJess91 How're you both doing?

@Threnody So sorry times have been tough - it's so normal to feel conflicted when others have positive pregnancy news and it's to be expected. Take care of yourself and don't beat yourself up for feeling how you feel. You can be happy for someone and sad for yourself at the same time, it is doable and it's ok. Sorry to hear about your other friend's MMC, it's awful how many people go through it.

@Sakura54 I think I'll be here until the bitter end like the last thread, too - I find it so helpful to have you guys to talk to.

According to Ovia, I started my fertile week yesterday - I'm absolutely not trusting it as God knows what my cycles are up to at the mo, but it's nice to see it regardless! Will definitely be sticking with the every other day method. Anyone else sick of all of this though and just want to get to the part where we find out if we are or aren't pregnant this month?! I mean obviously there are fun parts (😏) but there's also a lot of hope and worry and planning, it's all encompassing and I am SO impatient. The thought of this month after month after month is just 😫 Been really busy at work though, which is helping somewhat - keeps my mind off it a bit at least!

Everyone got nice weekend plans (as much as we can during the semi-lockdown we're currently in)? xx

Smilingdonkey · 19/06/2020 16:00

@skyblue20 my EWCM is obvious but I believe you can go looking for it ... This slightly horrifies me though!

My cycles seems weirdly accurate which seems bizarre! But I'm going with it ... You're right it is so nice to feel a bit of control again by tracking. I am in the TWW now (4dpo according to my app which confirmed ovulation this morning) - I don't take LH tests as I know I would be obsessed! Temping is fine for me for the moment - I may if this goes on and on though 😩

I am obsessing about symptoms already - trying to just enjoy the few days were 'I just might be pregnant' before the probably crash when AF arrives! I am going to test this time next week!

Happy Friday all!! Another week over and another week closer to our BFPs whenever they appear 🥰

ew1990 · 19/06/2020 21:46

Thrush has settled down a lot. You ladies who periods have started again how long did it take after miscarriage started?

I'm only 3 weeks and 1 day after mine and really feel like AF is on her way but didn't know if its too early. Im not sure if ive ovualted although I did have EWCM and ovulation pains on day 8+9 after bleeding started.

Ive got a really dull aching pain in stomach and back 😣 I have to hunch over when I stand up

Sakura54 · 19/06/2020 22:56

@Ranoutofgoodnames I got bad cramps for 2 weeks both times I got pregnant. You’re right though, all the pains, symptoms, bleeding can mean anything. It’s crazy, confusing and unfair! I did think about positions before, but whatever one you’re in, sperm is going to get where it needs to go so no need to lie down IMO!

@SkyBlue20 That one time I noticed EWCM, it just seemed really wet and noticeable when wiping. Not certain if it was but I got pregnant so lol. No idea if I’ve ovulated at all since the MMC. If anything, DTD at least twice a week should cover the days I think. Every other day is a bit much lol and I’m still relying on good old sperm living for up to 5 days!

@ew1990 Mine came after a month. It can take anything from 3 weeks to 10, so it’s not too early for you.

Had KFC for the first time in months. Happy days!

ew1990 · 19/06/2020 23:14

@sakura oh thats good to know.

I had McDonalds last week it was so good. KfC ruined it for me when they changed their fries 😩

RosieJess91 · 19/06/2020 23:16

@skyblue20 I'm in hospital due to severe pain in my abdomen... They think I could be having an ectopic pregnancy, but waiting on test results. So we shall see. Will update once I know for sure. 😣

SkyBlue20 · 19/06/2020 23:25

Oh, @rosiejess91, I’m so sorry! Hope you’re ok, let us know how you get on and we’re here if you want to chat xx

SkyBlue20 · 19/06/2020 23:28

@ew1990 It was 5 and a bit weeks until my periods started but I believe it can be earlier and later than that, so AF may well be arriving for you. The pain doesn’t sound good - give your GP a call if that continues xx

@Sakura54 Yeah every other day can feel a bit much at times 😂 I’m trying for every three days at a minimum. Not had KFC in ages despite living right near one! Husband did make a ‘healthy’ version of it tonight and it was so good. Can’t beat the beans at KFC though!

ew1990 · 19/06/2020 23:32

@skyblue20 beans over gravy!! 😲😲😂😂

@rosiejess oh no. Really hope it's not. I'll be thinking about you

SkyBlue20 · 19/06/2020 23:34

Haha @ew1990, I’m a northerner so gravy is in my blood but at KFC it just has to be the beans for me!

ew1990 · 19/06/2020 23:37

@skyblue20 same! Gravy with everything!!

Hope everyone enjoys their weekend as much as they can. Thanks for the chat on this thread it keeps me sane!

Threnody · 19/06/2020 23:45

@ew1990 that's good. AF showed up 34 days after my surgical management. Which isn't far off my usual cycle length anyway.

@RosieJess91 oh no, I hope you are okay, and everything works out fine.

Re ewcm, I usually have a day or two where I have enough it is noticeable, but I have been known to check it. It's easier than trying to check cervical position!

Workingmama1 · 20/06/2020 09:37

@ew1990 mine period took 6 weeks exactly from the start of miscarriage bleeding, but think I had a CP thrown into the mix too so not aire what would have been normal.

@rosiejess91 really hope it's not ectopic, have my fingers and toes crossed for you.

I get REALLY obvious EWCM, like someone has blown their nose into my knickers! Never really paid attention to it being in a cycle before ttc. Had more wet discharge yesterday so reckon maybe I ovulated thursday. Managed to dtd Thursday and Friday night, but thinking we've probably missed it this month.

Pre ordered a take away from our favourite restaurant for tomorrow, can't wait for it! And finally going for a socially distanced meet up with the in laws, first time we've left the house for anything other than food shopping and hospital since lockdown!
