Starting TTC again after missed miscarriage

Hi,
Just ovulated for the first time after my missed miscarriage at 13 weeks (baby had stopped growing at 6-7) and wondered if anyone wanted to keep me company while we go through the ups and downs of ttc all over again! ! Xx

(I meant hips, not hope...)

Ranoutofgoodnames · 16/06/2020 22:20

@sabtom I can confirm that I peed on an opk the same day as I peed on a hcg test to see if this was right and both turned positive. Opk wasn’t Peak ovulation positive but there and quite dark

Ranoutofgoodnames · 16/06/2020 22:21

I mean let’s never count up the amount of sticks we have all peed on. The shame 😂😂😂

RosieJess91 · 16/06/2020 22:30

@Ranoutofgoodnames don't get me started. In the last 2 month's I must have peed on about 30 or 40... it's really not good!!

Smilingdonkey · 16/06/2020 23:48

@rosiejess91 this sounds so similar to what I have just been through. Continued getting positives until a few days after my period ... Bloods were 4 but it was still showing on tests. Awful and so traumatic. Kept having all sorts of pregnancy symptoms but I think it was my body settling down. Go and insist on tests so you can get your mind straight and know what is going on Smile Don't get me started on how many tests I have taken ... Took to throwing them away in secret as I was so ashamed of my obsession! xxxxx

So my temp shot up so I guess I have ovulated! That's a relief at least. If it went up this morning when is is likely I ovulated? 24 hours ago? Do you find ovulation pain is before or during ovulation? Anyone else get bloated at this time of the month? We managed sex last night but missed it the day before (but had it the day before that) so I guess we have a chance!

Morning ladies!

@Smilingdonkey hurray for ovulation. I think you'll have ovulated yesterday sometime. 2 days before and day of is great timing! Got everything crossed for you!

And I daren't think about how many sticks I have peed on, between 4 pregnancies, opks and hpts - must be hundreds!

Poppy10121 · 17/06/2020 10:51

@RosieJess91 it does sound positive if you have all the symptoms! Are you definitely sure on your dates? I'm not sure how accurate home tests are so if you can get a blood test done that might be better to put your mind at rest?

@Ranoutofgoodnames I'm feeling the stick shame too after this month's OPKs, I bought the plastic kind and I hate how much landfill I'm creating, think if I have to do this for more months I'll just buy the cheap paper ones.

@Smilingdonkey that sounds really positive! I don't often notice ovulation pain at all but I do usually notice increase in sex drive and boobs feel fuller?! Fingers crossed for you!

Still no ovulation here yet, I'm on CD9 now and last time ovulated on CD8 so I'm hopeful this just means my cycle is going back to something longer/more normal. But before my pregnancy I never caught a positive ovulation test, so I think maybe my hormone levels are low or my spike is very short!

Ranoutofgoodnames · 17/06/2020 11:17

Has anyone ever taken progesterone supplements?? I am all over the place emotionally and don’t have a clue what’s going on

Smilingdonkey · 17/06/2020 11:32

If anyone wants good cheap pregnancy tests I was using easy@home from amazon and they were picking up very low HCG levels (of 4 apparently?!) With a faint line that wasn't quite as clear as the FRER but certainly obvious enough. Also they are nice and wide and easy to see!

OP posts:
Smilingdonkey · 17/06/2020 11:39

@Threnody - I hope so! That's good if it's yesterday!

@poppies ... I have the increased sex drive too - how mad and clever is reproduction?!

@ranoutofgoodnames sorry I know nothing about it Sad

Afternoon all! How's everyone doing today?

@ew1990 Has AF showed her face?

@RosieJess91 Have you called the doc? Hope you get answers soon!

I got really annoyed last night (internally) as we went to bed really late for no real reason and didn't DTD and tonight we have plans that mean we'll be in bed late again but we must fit it in - we haven't DTD since Sunday night and I'd ideally be every other day, every three days at most. Must get in to the habit of going to bed early (we are definite night owls)!

ew1990 · 17/06/2020 12:41

@skyblue20 no not yet. Few more cramps yesterday but that's all.

If I go off my usual cycle its not due till the 24th but I know miscarriages can send them AWOL the first few cycles

RosieJess91 · 17/06/2020 13:10

Phoned my GP, they're not allowed to do blood tests at the moment, and EPU have said they aren't allowed to offer early scans at the moment either. Said I can go private, but to just treat it like I am pregnant, and hope for the best. If I did have a CP I should have AF on 1st July. So will just have to wait and see.
Not definite on dates, but I know my last proper AF was on 3rd May, first one since the MMC, then on 31st May, when I was 1 day late, I took 3 pregnancy tests, all positive. Then on the 4th June, I bled from 10am through until 11am the next day, then it all stopped. So I could have ovulated later in May, and the 4th June could have been a IB, but I think it's unlikely?
I'm not sure if it's baby brain or I've just driven myself insane, but I went to take the washing out of the oven earlier and put the knives away in the fridge?

ew1990 · 17/06/2020 13:27

@rosiejess hope you get some answers soon. It all sounds very stressful

PurplePansy05 · 17/06/2020 13:29

@Ranoutofgoodnames I did in my last pregnancy up until 12 weeks, sadly the MC happened anyway. I didn't feel any different on progesterone, just had the pregnancy symptoms. It might affect you emotionally, early pregnancy is a hormonal and emotional roller-coaster. Nothing to worry about.

PurplePansy05 · 17/06/2020 13:34

@RosieJess91 Did you test this morning? If you're pregnant and it is progressing then going by your dates, pregnancy tests should be showing clear lines by now. Digital CB should also pick it up now.

Unfortunately there are very limited services offered by GPs and most EPUs right now, very frustrating.

PurplePansy05 · 17/06/2020 13:52

@RosieJess91 Sorry, posted too soon! Did you think about having a blood test done privately? I had one as my early miscarriage was not long before lockdown started and services were already reduced then. My HCG at the time was really low single figures and they told me it was a failing pregnancy, which I expected. I MCd the same evening, in fact. I think a blood test would be the only definitive thing that would put your mind at ease now. It's a crazy limbo, I was climbing the walls and the GP was so unhelpful, refused blood tests, refused EPU referral. I was on CD45 then. She was a locum doctor and frankly, a right bitch.

I hope you get to know soon, will be thinking of you Flowers

mrsAndeke · 17/06/2020 15:46

How are we ladies!

This cycle I'm ovulating atm checking with clear blue in the morning and having flashing smileys and checking with cheapies one the afternoon and the cheapie this afternoon was really dark! With the flashing smilies do you DTD everyday? Just trying to up my chances as much as possible!

Smilingdonkey · 17/06/2020 17:39

@rosiejess91 - I totally missread your situation sorry! It's ridiculous they won't give you a blood test! I would be tempted to make up some bad stomach cramps and tell them you think you have retained material or something ... I know it's unethical though but so many doctors seem to have no sympathy with how it feels to have a miscarriage and what it might feel like)why it might be confusing in the next pregnancy. It makes me cross 😔

OP posts:
mrsAndeke · 17/06/2020 17:42

Update - did another clear blue digital after my cheapie opk being very dark and got a static face! This is after a flashing face this morning. So me and the husband have decided to just DTD everyday over the next couple of days for our best chances!!!!

The amount of stick we pee on or dip into is ridiculous but probably won't stop until I see another positive test then add another 5 on top of that 😂

Sakura54 · 17/06/2020 19:52

@Ranoutofgoodnames I would deffo like to know how your pregnancy goes and will be rooting for you! Its lovely to see some positivity after what we’ve been through. I’m planning to stay on this thread until everyone disappears; the same as what happened on our old thread lol.

I don’t notice anything during ovulation; I literally just rely on my app to tell me my FW. The month I got pregnant was the only time I’ve ever noticed EWCM though lol. I probably should take notice of my body more! I think, for me, the increased sex drive thing is because we aren’t able to DTD for over a week due to AF and the FW, on average, just happens to be after AF finishes!

Workingmama1 · 17/06/2020 20:01

I'm getting more EWCM today so think I'm ovulating but husband still has UTI symptoms! Even though he's feeling alright in himself and his temperature is gone don't think it's a good idea to dtd. Also had some twinges on my left side. How long after ovulation do we have to dtd?

Yay @mrsAndeke for getting a static smiley! Im debating OPKs for next cycle but think they might make me a bit obsessive.

@RosieJess91 can't believe they won't do bloods for you. I really hope its a new viable pregnancy but they should be doing them just to check retained tissue etc. Shocking the way miscarriages and aftercare are handled.

PurplePansy05 · 17/06/2020 21:29

@Workingmama1 You'll likely have 24 hours after to still be in for a chance this cycle. I'm glad your other half is getting better, hopefully the infection will clear soon. 🤞
