Starting TTC again after missed miscarriage

Hi,
Just ovulated for the first time after my missed miscarriage at 13 weeks (baby had stopped growing at 6-7) and wondered if anyone wanted to keep me company while we go through the ups and downs of ttc all over again! ! Xx

@sabtom welcome. I'm sorry you have gone through such heartache. I only have one piece of advice... Make sure you have a negative test before Ttc unless you want to drive yourself mad knowing if you have a new pregnacy or 'old' Hcg! XXXX

@SkyBlue20 it is lovely to have you all to check in with Smile
@Ranoutofgoodnames I think this all sounds very promising - I can't see from anything you have said that there will be an issue Smile I have everifying crossed for you xxxxxxxxSmile

Thank you @Smilingdonkey, and yes, good idea! I plan to take a pregnancy test on Wednesday, that'll be a week after my MVA, and I'll keep testing every couple of days to see if the line gets fainter. Once the bleeding completely stops I'll start the ovulation tests and hopefully by then the hcg will be out of my system.

AlisonLew15 · 16/06/2020 09:30

@mrsAndeke @PurplePansy05 @Ranoutofgoodnames thanks for the advice. I'll have a read of the SMEP.
I did an first OPK yesterday and got a low, this morning got a flashing smiley on CD6, seems I ovulate early too. Wonder how many days before I get my peak this time. I had flashing for 2 days and then a static last month. My cycles are up and down, apparently a difference of a few days is still classed as regular. 30/25/26 days

Sakura54 · 16/06/2020 09:56

@Ranoutofgoodnames Hopefully it's all positive news and you can arrange your booking appt. After what we’ve been through, it’s understandable to feel sad, stressed, scared etc. I stay casual when TTC and pregnant, but even I’m wondering if I’ll be able to be so chilled next time. I might detach myself emotionally even more. Being realistic really helped me protect myself. At the same time, though, I didn’t really believe I would MC seeing as my SIL and brother just had one a few months before me.

@SkyBlue20 Yeah SMEP doesn’t really seem like a method; it just sounds like DTD a heck of a lot lol. We only did it twice on my FW the last time we conceived! I was surprised it happened quickly, but clearly it was too good to be true.

@AlisonLew15 Yes that would still be classed as regular as it’s only a few days difference, but I think people get confused and think it has to be the exact same number of days. Mine seems to be different every single month too but still regular, although it’s been 2 years since I’ve tracked apart from the recent couple of months before I got pregnant.

I’m on CD23 so still patiently waiting for 2nd AF to show...hopefully on time next week. I might then start taking folic acid. That heavy feeling down below I had last week disappeared so who knows if it was ovulation or just a weird, dodgy tummy lol.

SkyBlue20 · 16/06/2020 10:41

Morning all!

@ew1990 If you've had a negative then I'd assume it's AF arriving? How're you doing today?

@ranoutofgoodnames Is it today you get your blood test results back? Good luck!

How's everyone else doing? It's been literally four days since my period ended and this morning I, for a split second, thought 'oooh my nipple just felt sensitive' (sore and hard nipples were my first symptom for my last pregnancy) and had to catch myself and tell myself off. ! I know logically it's impossible - I've probably not even ovulated yet, but off goes my mind, running away with itself 🤦🏻‍♀️ Definitely going to nip that in the bud!

Ranoutofgoodnames · 16/06/2020 10:53

Morning ladies!

Thank you all for your positive vibes! Got the results back - all ok hormone levels are rising slowly but consistently so all good! I am to keep taking the progesterone (think this is just a precaution) avoid sex and physical exercise 😳😳

Will have an early viability scan in a few weeks (week seven I think)

I am not sure if it is good to do all this extra stuff or if I should just crack on and wait for 12 week scan - both routes seem quite stressful

Will it upset anyone if I hang out here for a bit? There is another lovely thread for pregnancy after miscarriage but I went through some tough times with some of you and also I am not ready yet to be all “ooh I am pregnant”

SkyBlue20 · 16/06/2020 11:00

Oh @ranoutofgoodnames I'm so thrilled for you, must be a bit of a relief (albeit I understand you're probably still anxious about it all!) Take care of yourself and that little bean, hope it's a sticky, stubborn one for you. How many weeks are you at the moment?

Absolutely stay here and hang out with us - it's so nice to hear from you and hopefully some of us will be joining you soon, too 🤞🏼

ew1990 · 16/06/2020 11:09

@ranoutofgoodnames yes please do stay.

@skyblue20 I've got really bad period pains so hopefully shes on her way. Hope So then we can crack on with TTC

Threnody · 16/06/2020 11:38

Hello ladies, lots to catch up with!

@Ranoutofgoodnames great news, would love you to stay on here and keep us updated!

@sabtom welcome, and sorry for your loss.

@SkyBlue20 I'm the same, constantly symptom spotting in the back of my head even though it's ridiculous!

Af just finished, so I'm feeling like I want to ttc, even though we'd agreed to wait until next month. I've only got 3 pounds left to lose to reach my goal pre-ttc weight, and I'm feeling very impatient. But if we did get pregnant and everything was ok, baby would be due on my son's birthday, and we wanted to avoid that, partly because it was on his birthday this year that we found out about the MMC, and I feel like that month has enough going on in it.

Starfish762 · 16/06/2020 12:37

@Ranoutofgoodnames yes please do stay here! It’s lovely to have some good news, and gives the rest of us hope :)

I definitely think I’d have an early scan if I fall again as 12 weeks is ages to wait even if you haven’t gone through what we all have, but totally understand the anxiety & worry having to go for that. My local hospital is now allowing partners at scans, so that’s 1 positive change for us. Hopefully be the same for your viability scan.

Threnody · 16/06/2020 12:48

@Starfish762 that's good news about partners at scans. I don't think our hospital is doing that yet. I think I'd want an early scan, though I think baby stopped growing at 10 weeks, so I suppose it wouldn't have picked up if I'd had one before that. I don't really know.

Poppy10121 · 16/06/2020 14:40

@Ranoutofgoodnames I am so happy for you, please do stay and keep us updated! I hope there will be other positive stories soon :-)

I have been doing my OPKs and no sign yet of ovulation this cycle, my app keeps telling me "Ovulation day! High chance of pregnancy!" but it's just basing that on last month's wacky cycle. I read about the SMEP and think we will do that this month, see what happens. Part of me thinks maybe I'd get on better if I stopped thinking about it, stopped testing and reading and joining in these conversations but it's hard to find much distraction at the moment. So I'll allow myself one obsessive month and then try to cut back!

Smilingdonkey · 16/06/2020 14:43

@ranoutofgoodnames that's amazing news ... Please stay here as long as you want! It's nice to have people at all stages 😘

@skyblue54 I symptom spot when I'm on my period 😂 I'm a nightmare!

OP posts:
Smilingdonkey · 16/06/2020 14:44

Skyblue20 I mean... How do reply to names via the app? Xx

OP posts:
Smilingdonkey · 16/06/2020 14:48

So I am in peak fertility according to my app and meant to ovulate tomorrow (obviously I know it's just a prediction) and my temps are still all under the line so looks like I've not ovulated but the ovulation pain, bloating and watery cm I have had the last 3 days have all stopped today ... worried we have mistimed sex 😩

OP posts:
ew1990 · 16/06/2020 15:19

@smilingdonkey when we conceived the one weve just lost we literally did it on CD 8 and 9 and that's it's so you never know. I Didn't what day I ovulated though

Ranoutofgoodnames · 16/06/2020 15:54

@Smilingdonkey my app changed its mind about when I ovulated after the event so I only had sex I think three days before ovulation maybe - but it was all so up and down I am sceptical that either one was right to be honest so fingers crossed for you and you never know 🤞

sabtom · 16/06/2020 16:08

So today I'm on CD7 if you count my MVA procedure as CD1, first day where (touch wood) I've had no cramps and only one small spot of blood. So I did a hcg test and ovulation test just to check and this was the result. Is that normal to have a high opk and positive hcg test at the same time? Still haven't DTD yet.

Starting TTC again after missed miscarriage
ew1990 · 16/06/2020 16:19

@Sabtom I'm pretty sure opks can pick up hcg. I'm sure I've seen threads where people have used OPKs as a pregnancy test

Threnody · 16/06/2020 17:33

@sabtom @ew1990 is right, lh and hcg are really similar, and opks will pick up hcg.

sabtom · 16/06/2020 17:57

Ahh. I guess there's no point wasting the opk sticks this month then Confused

Workingmama1 · 16/06/2020 19:32

@ranoutofgoodnames great news on your blood tests, I'd love it if you stayed around!

I'm on CD 12 today but husband still not feelong great and we think his infection was caused by a UTI so dont think we should be having sex until it clears. No idea when I'll ovulate, had some egg whote discjarge yesterday (though tinged with blood?) and increased sex drive too so think it might be soon. Not using OPKs. Think we might miss our chance this month. To be honest though this month I'd just be happy with my husband getting better as its been pretty stressful since his op!

Smilingdonkey · 16/06/2020 20:37

@workingmama1 I think you are spot on. You guys have had a real rollercoaster these last few months xxxx

I am seeing this month as a sort of trial run. It would be great to get pregnant but i'm still trying to work out how my cycle has recovered. To be honest a baby in the 2nd half of next year would be better ... But I'll take what I'm given if I'm lucky enough! Xxxxx

Had a busy few days.
Still getting confusing test results. Negative digital. Positive One Steps. Very faint though, all at different times of the day.
If I'm right, I'd be 6 weeks by now, surely they'd be darker and digital would be positive. If that was a CP I wouldn't be getting any positives.
Going to phone the GP tomorrow, see if they can do a blood test or something before I go completely insane. Not sure I can wait another 2 weeks to check if AF appears...
My neighbour said she continued having AF for 4 months, but pregnancy continued normally. And has a 47 year old daughter to prove it.
Feel pregnant, bloated, nausea, boobs are HUGE! Hope and pelvis are aching like hell.
Someone just give me an answer, please!! 😭😭
