Hi all,

Following on from the previous thread of ‘testing around 13th May’. So many people messaged to say they found the group useful so I thought I’d recreate one.

Everyone is welcome and look forward to hearing everyone’s stories.

@memily I'm the same! Have been having lots of waves of nausea through out the day, when it's here I'm like I must be pregnant I feel so off, then it goes and I'm like nope I'm definitely out this month - haha!!
Only other symptom I've got currently is my boobs feel slightly bigger, that's about it though! How about you? X

Lazybear3 · 10/06/2020 16:43

Hi everyone. I’m new to Mumsnet. Not currently trying to conceive but had unprotected sex with my partner in my fertility window according to my app. I’m due AF Friday/Sat (2 app say different days!) and have had weird symptoms for the last week, aching legs/hips, mild cramps but almost feel constantly there, been VERY tired thoughtout the day and been having trouble sleeping at nights! I have recently come off my pill in March due to the side effects so not sure if these are the normal PMS symptoms or these could be relating to early pregnancy? I was looking to test over the weekend if no AF arrives..

MintGreenLife · 10/06/2020 16:52

@LottieX maybe hang on if you've only got one left? Would be frustrating to get a squinter and then not be able to test again the next day. I'm going to hang on until the day AF is due or the day after if she doesn't show before. Hopefully it's a good sign for us both xx

MintGreenLife · 10/06/2020 16:55

@Freddie15VES tagged you! Ha. Yeah exactly, there's always a reason to put it off. I've been watching endless videos on YouTube like 'my earliest pregnancy symptoms' and 'how I knew I was pregnant before I got my BFP' argh! Managed to avoid them today but watched several yesterday and Monday. No bloating for me so far. Remind me how old you are again? I seem to remember 20-something?? No probs if you don't want to share your age by the way :) xx

Freddie15VES · 10/06/2020 17:03

@MintGreenLife I’ve just turned 29, been with the OH for 6 years now so we’re both completely settled and ready to take the next steps so to speak. OH is pushing me to go self employed. What is it that you do? And how do you find it? Xx

Juno231 · 10/06/2020 17:04

@mintgreenlife I keep saying this but isn't it outright cruel that AF and BFP symptoms are the same?! Unless you have one of the creepier BFP signs like nosebleeds and bleeding gums....

Freddie15VES · 10/06/2020 17:04

@Lazybear3 I get really bad insomnia a few nights before my period arrives. It’s kind of how I know it’s coming, my OH has even commented on it! Xx

Lazybear3 · 10/06/2020 17:13

Thank you for your response! @Freddie15VES Couple nights ago I was tossing and turning for over 2 hours! I was debating to go downstairs and watch a film 😂. I was on the pill for nearly 7 years before having a recent break so I’ve completely forgotten what PMS symptoms are normal Xx

MintGreenLife · 10/06/2020 17:21

@Freddie15VES we're not too far apart then ☺️ I'm 31, and same have been with my fiancé for 6 years.

I'm a copywriter and have been freelance for 8 years now. If I'm honest I don't think I could go back to working for someone else, I value the work-life balance and flexibility too much. It can be a bit boring working by yourself though, and takes a lot of self discipline. Is the industry that you work in something you could easily do from home? TBH I do think it'll be super helpful when we do have a family as I'll be able to pick my own hours and fit in around having a young family xx

MintGreenLife · 10/06/2020 17:23

@Juno231 yes you're totally right, so cruel! Only thing I've noticed is that my cramps and twinges seem to come and go over the last few days and I can't remember if that's nirmal for AF as only second cycle off the pill, before this I didn't have a normal 'period' for 13 years as on the pill that whole time. Only thing that's been consistent for a few days now is lower back ache, no bleeding nose or anything here 😂

Freddie15VES · 10/06/2020 17:23

@Lazybear3 no problem! Yes it’s something I always get and usually as soon as my head hits the pillow I’m gone. But I can never sleep before AF is on the way! Xx

@MintGreenLife yes so I was a hairdresser for over 10 years and built up a fair few additional qualifications with it. I still get people asking me now whether I will do hair again and it’s been nearly 4 years. However like you say, it would be so easy to work around babies when we have them! Xx

MintGreenLife · 10/06/2020 17:26

@Freddie15VES could potentially be a great idea then! Maybe you could use the time between now and being made redundant to look into setting up as a freelance hairdresser? Will you get some redundancy pay that could support you while you set up your own business? Could be a silver lining to the redundancy - a more flexible job to fit in with having a young family ☺️ Xx

Freddie15VES · 10/06/2020 17:30

@MintGreenLife I’m not sure what I’ll get, I didn’t work there long but they have held back everyone’s commission as I worked in sales. They held it back due to the pandemic (no idea why they did but hey ho) so they owe me that, which will be a few thousand which will help. So I will fight for that as much as possible. My OH has a fairly well paid job so he said if needs must, I’ll get a part time job or even a temporary one and he will help out! Yes definitely a silver lining as I can’t carry on working in sales and have a baby! The hours are too much and it even worries me already how stressed I would be even during the pregnancy as it’s a very stressful job! Xx

MintGreenLife · 10/06/2020 17:34

I had two part time jobs when I left my full time job as a copywriter while I set up freelance, it took me about 6 months before I was in a position to quit my part time jobs and focus on being freelance full time, so could potentially be something you do before DC1 arrives ☺️ It's good to have options isn't it, sounds like you'll be able to be pretty flexible to fit in around having a young family 😀 Xx

MintGreenLife · 10/06/2020 17:34

@Freddie15VES

memily · 10/06/2020 21:35

@MintGreenLife not it’s not fun at all! I wish it wasn’t this big guessing game. I’m a control freak too so I struggle with all this. I did wonder if it was implantation bleeding as I’ve literally not had any AF symptoms 🤷🏼‍♀️ Who knows! I think I’ll wait it out over the next few days and if it’s no different by Sunday I’ll test again. That’ll be 2 days after AF was due. When are you due to test again?x

memily · 10/06/2020 21:39

@ForeverHopeful67 it’s very frustrating isn’t it. I feel like I’m just waiting for AF to arrive as I’m convinced it will, but then there’s a bit of you that is so hopeful it won’t arrive. I haven’t had any AF symptoms, no cramping or dull ache, nothing. It’s just the queasy feeling that lingers, the headaches, tiredness... but then I can always find reasons for those. I just don’t want to get my hopes up too much because the disappointment is too hard x

Smiling124 · 10/06/2020 21:44

Hi everyone,

I hope you dont mind me joining I was in a thread last month but so many since then! Posted on a general one but found the last one helpful as testing at the same time.

I havent been one to track ovulation (told myself I would try without as worried it would take over my life a little) but realising without its hard to go by the apps! I average 31 days cycles (28,29,31 and 34), last month I was convinced I was pregnant all the signs sore boobs, exhaused but bfn. This months im conviced im not (at day 30) but have has such intermittent cramping for 2/3 days. No af so wondering what implantantion cramps feel like? Been so exhausted today, had an afternoon under a duvet! Had a cheap tesco test bfn this morning, and got clear blue digital ariving friday as back up if af doesnt arrive.

Thanks in advance, these threads reassure and answer my worries as TTC (trying to conceive) for no. 1!

fafi · 10/06/2020 21:54

Hi everyone, I hope you don't mind me joining. It seems like the most appropriate thread for me.

I've had faint positive tests since Sunday, though I had a chemical pregnancy last month so I am finding myself being super cautious and trying not to let myself get too excited. AF was due on Sunday.

Last month I took an early detection test on my AF due date on a Wednesday and got a positive and it continued for a couple of days. On Saturday I had some cramps and then pink spotting with, well, a small clump. I took a test that was very faint and then the following day I came on. Fingers crossed all is well tomorrow, I just want to get past the same day I got to last month and then I might be able to think about starting to relax.

Congratulations to everyone who have also got BFP! Last month the MN thread I was in started a private Facebook group which was super helpful and much easier to chat on. Once we get a little further along with everyone's tests would anyone be interested in doing the same?

Lots of love everyone!

MintGreenLife · 10/06/2020 21:56

@memily AF is due Saturday, so I'll test Sunday if she doesn't show. Will be nice to have someone to test with ☺️ X

MintGreenLife · 10/06/2020 22:01

Hi @Smiling124 ☺️ I've had same as you - cramping on and off since Monday. I had a few days last week of sharp twinges in my lower middle, and then same again Monday and Tuesday along with an on/off heavy/crampy feeling, but no twinges today. I tested at 10DPO yesterday and got a BFN. AF due Saturday, will test again Sunday if nothing. How many DPO are you, and when do you think you'll be testing? Xx

MintGreenLife · 10/06/2020 22:03

Hi @fafi, sorry to hear about the chemical last month. Will keep my fingers crossed for you that it sticks this month. Are you TTC DC1? Are you thinking a FB group for those that get their BFP? It's a lovely idea for those that are at the same stage x

Smiling124 · 10/06/2020 22:08

Hi @MintGreenLife
Im 14dpo, due friday if going by average! I just think lockdown makes me over analyise everything but am so tired today but dont know if its just pms 😑definatley so uncertain when ive never experienced it before!!

I have said I will wait until Sunday, but I am very impatient! I knew my test today was too early, but that little glimmer of it being bfp! Fingers crossed for you 🙂

fafi · 10/06/2020 22:13

@MintGreenLife Hi, thank you! Yup this will be mine and my husbands first baby Smile.

And yeah for the BFP crew! Last month it was named 'Lockdown Girls' so it would be innocuous and not be obvious if anyone saw it! It was really nice and when the CP it was nice to have a group of girls going through the same things.

MintGreenLife · 10/06/2020 22:38

@Smiling124 I tested at 10DPO so gave in way before you did 😂 If you manage to hold out until Sunday we will be testing at the same time ☺️ That's if AF doesn't show 🤞🏼 Will keep my fingers crossed for you too x
