I never seem to quite fit into any of the existing posts so thought I’d create my own.

Feel free to join me.

I ‘think’ I’m due af around 17th May, but knowing me will start testing from around 11th onwards as I’m a total poas addict.

I say I think that’s when my af is due because in the past my cycles have been around 37 dats long. Ovulating around cd22.

But thus cycle I took soy isoflavones after researching about them, hearing they can bring ovulation forward, and amazingly I got my positive ovulation test on cd14! So if my luteal phase remains the same which I think it’s meant to, then I’d be due af 14 days after that (my luteal phase is 14 days long).

I’ve been known to test from 7dpo though so not holding out much hope of me staying strong 😂 that’s the trouble with having a ton of ic tests burning a hole in my drawer!

Good luck to everyone else.

@Blondiemum1980 thank you. Hopefully that was my positive and we’ve been dtd at the right times. I’ve read about ladies that don’t even get lines that go as dark as the control line and still managed to get their bfp so I’m hopeful.

Well as for the hormone test I don’t even know if there could be anything wrong. I mean I’ve managed to get pregnant twice since October last year so I don’t think that’s an issue as such, but perhaps more that the eggs I have left are of bad/old quality or I have a lot of scar tissue which could be making a pregnancy struggle to stick.
But then again this test wouldn’t pick up on scar tissue problems anyway.
It was just the very short light af that got me concerned about my body perhaps going into perimenopause. I might wait and see what this next af is like (assuming I don’t get a bfp) and if it’s another light/short one then I’ll do the test.

If it helps, my partner and I dtd pretty much every day or every other day at least and I’m struggling to get my bfp, whereas my friend has an incredibly low sex drive and she said they dtd once in the entire month and she got her bfp! So if timed right it doesn’t matter if it’s once or ten times, if it’s meant to be it’ll happen!

🤞🏻 For you. If I did ov on Monday then I’m 2dpo today so similar time to you again!

We can symptom spot together!!

@BabyDust13 thank you. Fingers crossed it was my positive!

I hope you carry on feeling better, when I have water infections I just tend to go to sleep as it’s the only way I don’t feel crap.

Fingers crossed you’ll wake up tomorrow feeling better and can really just focus on enjoying your scan! I’m excited for you. 6+5 you should be able to see a very clear ‘blob’ lol. Hopefully 2!!! And I hope they give you a picture to show your oh!

Yes! @Moominmiss we can definitely symptom spot - when can we start 🙈😂

I was lucky enough to fall preggers in April & that was from only once, I’ve always been incredibly lucky like that, I know how hard it is and can be for other people. But like you, the last two times I’ve lost the pregnancy. It’s left me wondering if there’s something amiss too. I’ve kind of put it down to my age though & assume there aren’t many good eggs left.. I’ve heard some ladies take Coq 10 (is that right?!) for egg quality, but I’ve not started with it as I’ve also read it can lengthen the cycle. I’ve no idea how accurate it is though? It might not even be my eggs, I’ve been pregnant 7 times with 2 DC, I’ve had 2 ERPC within those times & it’s crossed my mind that there might be some kind of scar tissue as a result. I guess I’ll not really know the answer to that.

I started spotting 5 days before AF last cycle & Perimenopause crosses my mind too so I have started some B6 just in case. I’m on higher dose Folic Acid (diabetic) from docs, B6, Iron (from docs) and Vit D. Alongside my diabetic meds that are pregnancy friendly. I might look into Coq 10 next month if my slim chance hasn’t worked 😂 At least we managed it once this month, sometimes it can be 3/4/5 months with zero 😩

Hi everyone! Hope you don't mind me joining. I know this isn't a new thread but I'm currently 2DPO TTC #2 (have a 13 month old DS) and this is cycle 3 for us....I think?!

When we conceived DS we only DTD twice all month so we were obviously lucky. I have a strong suspicion that if we DTD too often then it really dilutes DH's sperm and I've spoken to a lot of friends and it's not uncommon to hear people say "I got my bfp when we stopped trying and went with the flow". So yeah, just thought I'd add that as food for thought after I saw @Moominmiss post about DTD every day! If I suggested that I think DH would run away and not come back 🤣🤣

BabyDust13 · 04/06/2020 15:39

So here is my little blob just the one I'm a bit relieved to be honest measures at 6+2 which I thought was weird because exactly a week ago it was 5+5 but they said they all grow at different rates still has a strong little heartbeat

The dr tested my water again and said my antibiotics are working it's just taking longer than normal and I should keep drinking lots of water

Don't have another scan now until 20th June which feels like forever away

Super excited now I've got a pic it seems so much more real

Hope you are all ok today 🥰

@BabyDust13 that’s wonderful! I’m so pleased for you! Hopefully the meds will kick in soon too & ease your pain too 😘

Lovely 😊 @BabyDust13 thanks for sharing!

BabyDust13 · 04/06/2020 20:53

Thanks everyone 😘

Is it safe to use a hot water bottle to ease my cramps I'm going to use a tea towel over my top and won't leave it on too long

Moominmiss · 05/06/2020 13:06

@BabyDust13 I would say as long as you don’t increase your overall body temperature by too much then a hot water bottle not directly against your skin will be fine.

How are you feeling today? Have your symptoms eased a bit?

How’s everyone else doing?

I ‘think’ I’m possibly 4dpo. No symptoms to report. I had had sensitive/sore nipples up until today but they’ve eased off now so think it was just the rise in progesterone after ovulation.

I’m looking into taking ubiquinol next cycle seeing as it’s supposed to be really good for older women ttc and helps with egg quality.
But my god it’s pricey!! Found a recommended brand, and a bottle of 60 capsules is £40!! The capsules are 100mg each and you’re recommended to take 300-600mg a day so even just taking 3 (300mg a day) a bottle will only last 20 days!!!

OP posts:
BabyDust13 · 05/06/2020 14:00

@Moominmiss it did help a bit but I was worried about getting too warm. Saying that I'm just about to get in the bath the cramps haven't changed just hoping they can't go on for much longer it's making me a right moaner. I honestly am normally quite a happy person 😂

I've not heard of that before but that is pricey. Early days yet 🤞🏼 you might not need them x

notyetamumbuttrying · 05/06/2020 14:18

@Moominmiss I take coQ10 which is basically ubiquinol. Far cheaper! Have a search on amazon for that. I use the one with black pepper extract. I'm due on on the 12th so will let you know if it had any effect or not!

Moominmiss · 05/06/2020 14:21

@notyetamumbuttrying I’ve seen that. But then I’ve read that the coq10 is ubiquinone which is harder for your body to absorb, and that ubiquinol is better for women over 35.
I don’t know, I need to do more research I think.
I have over a week before af would be due so still enough time to figure it out and order something lol.

Good luck!! Hope it’s worked for you! How long have you been taking it?

OP posts:
notyetamumbuttrying · 05/06/2020 14:30

Yes I think you're right @Moominmiss the black pepper extract is meant to help it absorb more but we'll see lol! I'm also hoping that being 34 means it might still help me in some way, who knows eh!?
Just for this last cycle so 20 days now. I take it alongside vita dha. Swapped pregnacare out for these two days and then folic acid on its own. I also took Angus castus up until ovulation so that I ov'd later, which I did by two days. Perfect for me as my cycles are so short!

Moominmiss · 05/06/2020 14:35

@notyetamumbuttrying I’ve still read lots of great things about all forms of ubiquinone/ubiquinol so fingers crossed it’ll work for you.

I just figured seeing as I’m fast approaching 38 I could use all the help I can get!

I think if I don’t get my bfp this cycle I will bin off the soy isoflavones, and just take the folic acid, vit d, and ubiquinol.

Just so impatient for the tww to finish now!

OP posts:
notyetamumbuttrying · 05/06/2020 14:48

Thank you @Moominmiss hope all your supplements worked for you too! The tww is the absolute worst! 😫it's the slowest wait known to mankind 😂

BabyDust13 · 07/06/2020 15:58

Hey ladies

So I don't really know who else to talk to so I'll just see what you think - it was our 9th month of trying when I finally got pregnant and I am super happy but lately I've been feeling so down.

I think it's a mixture of having a bad water infection painful cramps and back ache and not going out much but I just really don't feel myself and I'm struggling to lift myself up

It sounds so awful when I know I should be super excited I just don't know how to explain it

I don't really know what I expect you to say just needed to vent 😊

Blondiemum1980 · 07/06/2020 16:51

Hi @BabyDust13, don’t forget the hormones!! They can totally make you feel all sorts of things that you wouldn’t normally - they can be a right bugger 😂 unfortunately, I don’t think there is a magic switch to make them go away. I think the only thing I can offer (and probably won’t be much comfort or quick help right now) is that it is completely ok to feel like this, it’s just a feeling and once you realised that you’re feeling a bit ‘meh’ and acknowledged it, it can just sit there until it goes away - and it will go away when it’s ready. I don’t know if that makes any sense, but my counsellor has always told me this, feel it, know what it is and just let it be for a while, beating yourself up about it won’t do any good, it’ll pass soon enough. I’m no way trying to patronise you, but it’s always helped me. I hope you feel better soon 😘

BabyDust13 · 07/06/2020 17:58

@Blondiemum1980 thank you so much that makes sense. I'm sure I'm just being slightly dramatic but it feels better to talk about it

BabyDust13 · 07/06/2020 19:38

I've been doing some research and I've read quite a few things about pregnacare giving some people upset stomachs and bad cramps so I think I'm going to go back to just folic acid for a few days and see if that makes me feel any better

SmellyBeard · 08/06/2020 02:24

@BabyDust13 I felt down during the first half of my pregnancy with DD. I didn't know why either at the time because it was what I wanted sooo much. I also had at least one UTI and bad nausea, throwing up, unable to eat etc. I felt like my body was out of my control and tbh I didn't like it - it put me on edge because I felt so uncomfortable all the time.

I'm sorry you're feeling down. I'm sure hormones are playing a large part too. It's a new and massive thing happening to you and you are now along for the ride while your body does what it needs to.

I don't know who you have around you or who you feel
comfortable being with during this Covid time, but one thing I found helped was being around people (like my mum) who I could rabbit on to endlessly about everything that was going on without feeling like I was boring them rigid.

DressingGownofDoom · 08/06/2020 06:42

@BabyDust13 lots of love...being pregnant is pretty crap tbh it's physically uncomfortable and you also get that 'what have I done?!' Feeling no matter how happy you are!

After the 12 week scan when you see little baby waving at you and doing somersaults in there and you feel a wee bit better and then the movements start to come a few weeks after and you've got your head around it, it's all much more enjoyable.

BabyDust13 · 08/06/2020 07:47

@SmellyBeard @DressingGownofDoom thanks ladies
