AF arrived today - Testing end of May / early June buddies

Thought I’d make a thread for anyone who may be having a visit from AF currently and be testing similar time to me.

I’m 29, boyfriend is 27
TTC baby number 1, cycle 2 (ish.. we half tried last month but didn’t track anything!)
Trying SMEP this month
AF came today and is due 30th May

If everyone is on a similar date and wants to support each other then feel free to jump on 🙋🏼‍♀️☀️❤️

@DarcyParty Incredibly frustrating on an expensive test. I feel you pain! When is your AF due? My cycles vary from 26-31 but where I am now spotting I am guessing my probably will start in a couple days. 😔

@DarcyParty hopefully you get your positive soon 💕. @FRAN2020 sorry about your negative result hopefully the spotting is implantation. Next month is hopefully a lucky one.

@1992EM Thank you, although I feel it's probably too late for implantation and I always getting spotting for a few days before AF. But I guess you never know, I will keep positive and if not, keep positive for next month! It's going to be a lucky one for us all 😊

@Fran2020 I want a refund, haha! It's due 31st -3rd ish, so I reckon this isn't my month. But we're not out until AF right? :D

@DarcyParty me too hahaha! Same as mine! Exactly, it's not over until then! Do you usually get spotting?

I think I am clutching at straws. I started bleeding today . What I can only describe as a gush of blood when i got up . Wasn't bleeding during the night as nothing on the bed. I have been bleeding lightly throughout the day , enough to wear a tampon but not filling the tampon . I normally have bad cramps and really heavy bleeding, especially the first day. I have been prescribed tranxmatic acid and take pain relief but haven't needed to take it as had no pain. I didn't bother to do the test this morning due to bleeding. I am just really confused, I was helping my partner to lift bags of sand yesterday (which I know wasn't my best plan) but now freaking out that this is what has caused the bleeding. Has anyone had a bleed but still had a positive result?

The test is negative . I am kind of relieved in some ways to know that I never was pregnant and must be my body playing tricks on me . Anyway onto next month 👍

@1992EM I'm very sorry to hear that I would take a test in a few days just to be sure x

And fwiw, I believe they tell you to avoid heavy lifting to avoid damaging yourself when pregnant, not the baby, because your ligaments etc are more stretchy x

@Fran2020 Not usually, but I did last month, which is why I was a bit unsure when exactly to expect it this month...not long not anyway 🤷‍♀️ 🍸🍹

@DarcyParty thanks for your reply. I was beating myself up about it, thinking that was what had caused the bleeding. That is good to know though . Hope you get your positive xx

Looks like AF has now arrived 😔 Here's to next month - our 12th month TTC. 🤞🏼🤞🏼

@fran2020 BFN, no AF and according to the calendar, I'll be late by the 3rd of June. I don't think this is my month though, we only started trying halfway through and I reckon I missed my ovulation.

Got some new tests for next month though, DD is currently decorating the box with Peppa Pig stickers 🙄

@Fran2020 drinks in the garden are needed I reckon, here's to lucky number 12! 🤞

Happy birthday @Littlebee1990 sorry AF arrived for you. My birthday is coming up soon, I'm going to be 32 and feel like the older I get the less likely I am to fall pregnant. Which is ridiculous, there is still plenty of time but I feel your pain.

@Fran2020 so sorry to hear AF arrived too 😔 will you be contacting the GP as it's been a year? Fingers crossed for all of us that didnt get BFPs this month that we get them soon. For now I am making my way through a glass of grapefruit juice which is gross, but I'll try anything! 😊

@FRAN2020 sorry to hear that 😔 June will be a good month. @DarcyParty, thanks, feeling a bit more positive and my partner is excited about more trying to make a baby. 😅 Hope everyone that has birthdays enjoy them . I also have my birthday this week . Maybe we will get a late birthday present 👍

I have tested the last 3 days. They were faint line, but today I got my BFP.

@DarcyParty oh yes, think I might have some gin this week 😂 lucky number 12 would be amazing!!! 🤞🏼 is this your first month TTC? You should all prepared for next month though! And bless your DD! How old is she?

@DoctorBambino Thank you! Yeah I'm going to contact them maybe tomorrow or Wednesday to try to get something booked in. Feel I need to take control of the situation even more now. As I've actually been generally more relaxed than usual during lockdown without the commute to work/ being out all day etc etc. So I thought it could happen, but guess my body might've handled it differently.
I've not heard about grapefruit juice but willing to give anything a try 😂

@Whilstwewait Thanks, it's tough isn't it. 😔 This is our month!! Do you plan on going to the docs after the year too?

@Fran2020 is it your first your trying for as well? I went in January. Mainly as i was worried about my husbands sperm. So we both got checked. All came back normal but because im 34 the doctor has referred us to gynaecology for further tests. If a problem we will get referred to fertility clinic. If not i think it has to be 2 years of trying . We are considering going private as covid seems to have delayed everything but hoping to get lucky before then. Its having a big impact on both of our mental healths and seems to be taking over our lives. I'd happily plod along if i was younger. Definitely get the ball rolling with tests even if only for peace of mind xx

@Whilstwewait yes, it's our first. Is it your first as well? What tests did they do? That's good the tests came back normal. Wow 2 years of trying, that's so long! I'm 33 now so I don't want to wait around either. It's having an effect on me and my partner too, the monthly disappointment. 😔 Agreed, if I was younger it wouldn't be so much of a problem.

@Fran2020 yes its our first as well. I had a blood test which is done between day 2-5. They tested loads of different things for that one. Think FSh, LH, testererone, thyroid and some other things. Then more bloods 7 days after ovulation to check i'd ovulated. Think next step is a scan and to check tubes.

All of my friends got pregnant within 2 months so its been really hard as don't think anyone truly understand unless they have been through it. I see people on here get pregnant month 13, 16 etc which gives me hope but still cant imagine it happening.

It does make me sad last year we were both so happy on honeymoon not a care in the world and now this. Just want to move forward now with our lives if that makes sense.

Same with my friends and sister, all got pregnant within a few months. Babies popping up all of Facebook too! Since joining Mumsnet and seeing others get pregnant after longer gives me hope too. But yeah, like you I can't see it happening either. This month I was totally convinced it was happening and then AF. 😔

Aww yeah, that's sad. Maybe try to recreate your honeymoon at home! Where did you go?
