Ok, girls, our last thread did get crazy long so I am starting this one. If you don't like the name - well... too bad You'll get used to it over time .

ILTC, hi there sista! I feel like we're SO alike. Can you believe that my bleeding started again today? I was quite . And out of all places it started in a zoo when we were watching little sheep at the "petting zoo" section with DS and DH. Grrreat!~ Hope you're feeling better and this mess if over soon for all of us .

Rosybelle, hi there~ [sends a wave] Com'on over - sorry you're here but it's easier to get through things together. If you read my previous posts you know what I have to say - ERPC (or D&C) all the way. Good luck!

Scully, hi... you sound like me... actually my DH who is very much doubting TCC'ing again. And that's just after one MC! Well... we did have a stillborn DD1 but went on to have a beautiful DS. What would have happened if we got scared back then and didn't do it. Ooops, promised not to talk about it until mid-Oct. That's when my MC blood/ tissue results are back from the lab to tell us what was wrong with the baby. We agreed we wouldn't make any decisions until we find out.

Cricri, I know you won't be chechking this thread until later but hope your weekend in Holland is fab!

Hugs and smooches to all!

Morning all

Off work as have temp and headache and achey, went to docs last monday and she said throat infection but still don't have a sore throat so no idea how that works. I also think I'm ovulating (well an OPK gave me a surge yesterday, I think, I'm new to all this) but if I'm a bit poorly that probably means no chance of conceiving?

So, gonna make cakie, only question is what type? Hankering for coffee cake but DP does not like that so maybe big squishy choccie cake? Or I could make cupcakes and do some coffee and some choccie with lots of butter icing? Any requests?

ronshar · 28/09/2007 09:22

I am about to go out for a 5mile run so no cake for me this morning. Although later is different!
Chocolate all the way for me please.
Claire I hope you feel better soon. Get bding just in case you never know being poorly may take your mind off TTC for long enough to get that BFP.

ClairePO · 28/09/2007 09:25

5 mile run? Blimey, that's a bit keen!! Have fun!

ladylush · 28/09/2007 10:09

5 miles! Most impressed. I can just about manage 20 mins on a rowing machine Swimming distance is easier.

ladylush · 28/09/2007 10:10

Ronshar your vag must be ok if you can run 5 miles. After having ds I had a go on a trampoline and nearly wet myself!

splishsplosh · 28/09/2007 11:55

ooh, Claire, coffee cake - I love that, always had my mum make it for me as birthday cake. I hardly ever make cake myself as I grew up having such fab cooking from my gran and mum - home made jam doughnuts, hot cross buns, cakes etc, mine are always a big disappointment. So have bought some fruit cake from bakery cos I'm under the impression that it's vaguely healthy as it has raisins in it! Or am I fooling myself???

FlossieF - fab news, you must be so relieved (even if you now know you have a warty cervix!!)

Sweetkitty - I want to re-train as a primary teacher too. In fact I had a place on a pgce course this september, deferred it as was a bit wimpy about putting my dd in fulltime childcare so suddenly. Then when I found I was pg, I was wondering how I would cope with the course with 2 kids so young. Now I am wondering about if go with TTC again - what shall I do about course. Oh well, guess just see how things turn out.

Where is the cake meeting going to be? I live in South London

ronshar · 28/09/2007 12:04

Oh my that was hard. Never mind I can go and finish my carrot cake and not feel bad!!
NH101 spots are good. It means that there are lots of baby hormones running around. Lots of hormones means a wonderfully growing baby

ClairePO · 28/09/2007 12:39

I have a confession to make - the coffee cake became choccie cup cakes to avoid the faff of lining the cake tins. How lazy am I? In oven now, now shall I be childish and decorate them with choc icing and smarties or choc icing and milky bar buttons?

splishsplosh · 28/09/2007 13:27

Definitely go for the childish decorations - a mixture of smartie cakes, and choc button cakes maybe.

Wish I could stay to share, but I'm meant to meeting dp this afternoon to go to London Aquarium. It's pouring with rain, and dd is still asleep so now wishing I was staying here with cake and big mug of coffee. I'm sure it will b fun though...

enjoy your lovel cakes

katendmom · 28/09/2007 13:50

Yep Triggles, I know exactly what you mean. You guys will be floored but I was at work, in the office, all through mc'ing... Why you ask? Because I only get 25 days a year for sick/vacation days. Yes, these are combined. Since I have a 19 month old, I save every day in case he gets sick OR we decide to go to the Disney World .

Even my DH could not believe that I was on conference calls, in business mtgs and doing reports while running to the ladies room to check what I am passing at the moment! Nice!

Family-oriented? Right! Enough of that - I am making myself VERY angry.

nh101 your co-worker is just a stupid cow. You can tell her I said that. Your skin will go back to normal and you will have a beautiful lo at the end. She, on another hand, will always remain a stupid cow.

Splish, aquarium sounds so cool. In fact... I am thinking we should take our DS to an aquarium. He's never been. We make wkly trips on weekends to the zoo and he loves it .

Guys, it's official (at least in my head) - I OV'ed yesterday. Nope, didn't test (saving money for that lush pair of shoes I swore on yesterday's post)... but had cramps that I normally get and was craving sweets... and just convienced myself... So am off to Rx to fill in my prescription for prenatal vitamins. Glad I didn't throw that Rx away when I found out about MC.

Will check in later~

hi ladies

i managed some chocolate fudge cake yesterday and today i have had some turkish delight and salty liquorice (very scandinavian). Exercise this week = nil apart from biking to work and very very relaxing yoga and meditation on tues.

I just downloaded Tina Taylor's mp3 on its on my ipod! Am I obsessed or what? Its here www.nlpmp3.com/pages-productinfo/category-21/product-9/increased-fertility-nick-kemp-fertilit y.html

Will listen to it later on but after having weird sensations (bit like ligament stretching down there) and feeling sick this morning I did a test and got a BFN). So I am going out on a cocktail bar crawl with my friends tonight. Life is going on...(albeit somewhat more moderately then before)

have a great friday night

DUSTIN · 28/09/2007 14:42

TJuice I am glad you found the website. I hope it helps.

Sunshyne · 28/09/2007 15:32

Good afternoon ladies,

Hope you are all well. Doesn't look as though anyone is on here at the mo.

I am trying to take my mind off ovulation and conceiving but it is proving to be VERY difficult as I am sure you can all imagine.

I have been down the gym 3 times a week for 40mins sessions and doing a sensible diet reducing sugar and fat as much as possible - in an effort to make my body a temple ready for my next egg production. I my obsession I have stopped myself ovulating. Having had 5 m/c's that hadn't been a problem before. So I have reduced the gym sessions and am eating more normally (still trying to be sensible). My BUPA consultant is going to try me on Clomid on day 2 of my next cycle. Hopefully that will kick start things into action. I am 40 I haven't got much time left !!

katendmom · 28/09/2007 16:55

Hi sun and welcome~ Timely post!

And for the rest of you - my TTC-addicted buddies ~ read this. WARNING - it's long. My friend is VERY much into natural medicine, etc and after I told her that we're trying for DC2, she emailed me this:

If you want to conceive, try having the man take megadoses of vitamin C for a few weeks prior. At least 6,000 milligrams a day, and as much as 20,000 mg/day guarantees very high sperm production. Divide the dose throughout the day for maximum effect. And that effect is what, exactly? More sperm, stronger sperm, and better swimming sperm all occurred, at even lower daily C doses, in a University of Texas study. Take more C and you'll make vast quantities of super sperm. You think this won't work? Have I shown you my baby pictures? (She has - she has 3 DC - they're lovely!)

Here?s more: zinc and plenty of it helps the prostate and increases seminal fluid production. There is a scientific literature a mile long about zinc and male fertility. About five to ten times the RDA will do it. That is approximately 50 to 100 mg of zinc daily. For best absorption and best results, divide the dose into two, or better yet, four doses. Zinc gluconate is well absorbed, and zinc monomethionine better still. These are available at any health food store without a prescription.

A lot of wussy nutritionists will tell you that such levels of zinc are harmful. Truth is, most men don't even get the puny RDA of zinc, set laughingly at 10 or 12 milligrams. Zinc lozenges for the common cold are many times higher than this. Up to 550 mg of zinc has been safely given daily for a few weeks.

Continued high doses of zinc can produce a copper deficiency, and sometimes a copper deficiency anemia. This is very easy to compensate for. To begin with, most Americans have copper water pipes in their homes. Drink a glass or two of cold water first out of the tap every morning and you'll get copper. Secondly, eat more raisins and other copper-high foods. Third, take a multiple vitamin (as you should be doing anyway) with copper in it. Finally, do what those sexpots in India have been doing for thousands of years. Buy a copper metal cup, fill it with cold water at bedtime, and drink it first thing the next morning. Make this Ayurvedic routine your routine, and start knitting booties.

FlossieF · 28/09/2007 19:02

Sunshyne - 5 m/cs? You poor soul. Having one has been traumatic enough, I don't know how you and the many others on the thread who have been through multiple-mcs cope, I really don't.

I've just checked the Zita West "Vitamen" male fertility supplements I've been making dp eat, and they only contain 600mg of vitamin C and 15mg of zinc. Oh dear - better go shopping. He'll be downing supplements like smarties before he knows what has hit him.....

katendmom · 28/09/2007 19:40

I think 6,000 of C is a lot... I think even if he's taking around 1,000 - that is considered very good.

Now, from what I understand - a larger amount of Zinc shouldn't be taken for years. Like a few weeks I guess...so probably as he gets through a bottle - he should probably take a break. Hopefully by then you're BFP (meaning BIG FAT PREGNANT )

RosyBelle · 28/09/2007 20:25

Hi Girls

One of the reasons for our recent attempts at IVF is that DH has a v low sperm count (sa) with low normal forms and low motility. He obviously has some good ones as we have managed 3 natural pregnancies in 6 yrs of trying (1xDD, 2x m/c). He is now taking a supplement called Sperm-a-max (no sniggering!!) just to give them a boost as we can't afford any more IVF. 15mg of zinc a day is NOT enough to improve sperm.

How are you all?? I am back to normal & pretty much was the day after erpc. My problem on the day was that they placed a gel at the top of my cervix which is meant to open the womb and ensure no unnecessary stretching occurs during the erpc process. They told me later in theatre that I should have had the gel and had surgery 1 hour later.... unfortunately they were very busy... put the gel in @ 13:30 and at 16:30 I was still in the bed (3 hrs later). I thought I was dying. It brought on full induced labour in 3 hrs... you would think I would bleed but didn't lose a drop - just immense pain. Was crying & doubled up & when my DH went to get a nurse they rushed me straight down to theatre and put me out. From then on everything went well & have not bled much at all - its stopped altogether now!

So thats why I wondered if anyone else had this gel - as I didn't have it during my last erpc but that was 2 yrs ago.

BTW - just need to clear up - I don't drink pretend wine either but as a 'drinking group' we don't exactly share a bottle . I guess you will share a bottle on cakefest day though (v jealous).

R
xx

sweetkitty · 28/09/2007 20:30

sorry rosybelle but I think sperm-a-max is so funny who came up with that name you would have think they could have given it a more scientific sounding name.

DP is in training for a marathon next month I hope it hasn't affected his swimmers.

splishsplosh · 28/09/2007 20:31

Rosy - that sounds awful, but glad you're back to normal.

I think my bleeding has just about stopped, after 8 days of it. Just 1 spot today - does that mean I can get back to bd-ing? Or do I have to wait till absolutely no sign whatsoever?

Aquarium was great, dd loved it, running around and "counting" the fish. She liked the sharks the best I think, and being able to dip her hand in the water to try and touch the rays. It's tired her right out, and she fell asleep 2 seconds after going in her cot

sweetkitty · 28/09/2007 20:36

spilsh - I don't think theres a hard and fast rule I preferred to wait until it was all gone but then I had missed ovulation that month.

rosy - sorry you had such a rough time and after all your dreading it as well least it's over with and the only way is up now, are you ttc now too?

splishsplosh · 28/09/2007 20:40

Do you have to wait because there's a risk of infection? It's just dp has been keen about bd-ing and as I'm too selfish to have only him enjoy himself!

katendmom · 28/09/2007 20:46

Oh Rosy I am so for you! Busy? They were too busy? Excuse me! Wow... I am glad it's all over for you now. And I had the same experience with bleeding - dried up quickly after the procedure. I wonder if med invasion has to do with it.

We didn't actually wait too long before bd'ing. I think I was spotting a tiny bit... don't quite remember now but definitely wasn't completed.

Alright ~ I don't know what's gotten to me today but I have NOT stopped eating since like 11 in the morning. I have eaten everything in the house! I literally can feel the fat just growing on me!

Awww splish how awesome about your DD enjoying your day trip. Don't you just love it when they're all excited and want to try out everything... and then drift off into a nice nap lickity split?

OP posts:
splishsplosh · 28/09/2007 20:56

There's nothing like the uncomplicated joy and enthusiasm of small children, is there.

She loved going on the train too, while we waited for our train, she'd shout out everytime a train was coming, wave & calll bye bye to it, and call for more more trains. I think she'd happily spend a day on a station platform!

RosyBelle · 28/09/2007 21:03

Sweetkitty - I know!! Its hilarious! When it arrived in the mail I thought he was winding me up (I realised he wasn't when the credit card bill of £50 came in the mail .

However - he was taking it when we fell pregnant after IVF so it may help... and we were told there was no way his swimmers would make it as my HSG showed extended cervix & abnormally long tubes.

We won't conciously be ttc now as have been told its a waste of time. I have PCOS & they reckon we got pregnant as I was still stimulated form the ivf drugs (they stay in your system for a couple of months) so that was our last chance

However BDing we do well so obviously will carry on with that!!

sweetkitty · 28/09/2007 21:09

aww rosybelle don't know what to say life is so unfair when you see 16 year olds getting pregnant all the time

did you have ivf then your DD? what about treatment for PCOS? sorry I don't know much about it
