Hello,

I’ve been on the Jan, Feb, March and April TTC after miscarriage threads and I’m hoping so much this will be the month for rainbow babies 🌈

My story so far ... I have one DS who is 9yrs, will be 10 this summer. My hubby and I have been TTC number 2 since September 2018. We had our first natural MC in May 2019 at 11 weeks and then a ectopic PG in October 2019, I lost my left tube with this pregnancy too. I recently had a chemical PG in Feb 2020.

I would love some company on this TTC journey. It can be such a stressful and emotional experience and the Mumsnet threads have been such a source of comfort for me these last few months.

I’m currently on my TWW so fingers crossed 🤞 and baby dust to all the hopeful parents out there 💛

Hi @DisneyMummySince2010 👋🏻 I’ve been with you on each of those threads since January too. Not sure if next AF will be due April or May, depends on how long it is this month!

My story... Me and DH have been trying for our first baby since October 2019. Fell pregnant the 2nd month of trying, but miscarried in December at 5.5 weeks and haven’t had any luck conceiving again since.

I’ve noticed my cycles are strange since the MC, period starting with spotting and LP getting a bit shorter, so I’m trying 100mg of B6 this month, on top of the usual conception vits, to see if that helps get a BFP! 🤞🏻

TerribleImagination · 12/04/2020 20:50

DP even... not DH 😂

DisneyMummySince2010 · 12/04/2020 20:56

It’s lovely to see a familiar name @TerribleImagination 😊 thanks for joining!

I’ve had concerns about my LP since MC too, it’s gone to 11 days rather than usual 14/15- what does B6 do?

@DisneyMummySince2010 It’s meant to lengthen your luteal phase! So I’m giving it a go! I used to take it months before starting TTC, as I suffered with hormonal bloating, and it really helped that, so it clearly does the job of balancing hormones. I’ve been on 50g a day since mid Feb, but no BFP yet so giving 100mg a go. I’ve read of people getting their BFP after taking it, so I figured it doesn’t hurt to give it a bash! Not expecting miracles, but figured I’ve got nothing to lose 🤷🏻‍♀️

DisneyMummySince2010 · 13/04/2020 07:34

I think I’ll give it a go too!! Thanks for the info 👍 where are you in your cycle?

Hi ladies xx
I think you were both on the April thread for this ? I noticed it went very quiet since yday morning and its normally not that quiet in that thread. Just looked and its reached 40 pages, is there a limit to messages allowed on a thread? Xx
We started TTC Sep 2019, got pregnant over Xmas break and at my first scan at 11 weeks found out had a MMC baby didnt grow past 8 weeks.
Had ERPC 2nd March, tried tracking ovulation straight after with no luck. AF came on CD28 so cycle came back as normal. This weekend I got my first peak and now in TWW...
I've actually been feeling okay and positive etc then I've been thinking a lot last night and this morning , flash backs to that scan and thinking how am I going to cope going to another scan again I'll be so sick with nerves . Maybe because I'm now in TWW starting to think about all these things when before I was blocking them out.
With regards to your comments on shorter LP.. I used a lubricant called conceive plus the first time we fell pregnant and weve used it this weekend so 🤞 but on the reviews I've seen that they also do capsules, which I haven't used, but people have said it helped regulate and even lengthen their cycles. This could maybe help you ladies if needed ? @TerribleImagination @disneymumsince2010 xx

DisneyMummySince2010 · 13/04/2020 10:03

Hi @Renna I’m so excited for you, try to keep calm
and busy over the next two weeks!!

I’m really not sure where I am in my cycle anymore! I thought I ovulated on April 1st I’ve been tracking and was sure I had but I took a CB digital ovulation and it came up with a flashy smiley face this morning. So strange! I took a cheapie HPT and that was negative this morning. I do have PCOS and everything I’ve read says you can have multiple surges before ovulation so I’m guessing maybe my body tried on 1st and is trying again now?? When I took the stick out of the monitor the lines are quite dark... who knows what it all means!!

Hello, I've been lurking on these boards for a while but have just signed up so I can post. Hope it's OK for me to join this thread. I've been TTC my first baby for a year now and had three, possibly four losses. My third loss was a traumatic MMC at 8 weeks in January which was diagnosed at the first ultrasound. I had been getting my HCG levels checked a couple of times a week up until 6 weeks and my levels had been rising beautifully, and I had no bleeding at all (but was on progesterone supplements) so I really thought that it was going to be OK that time. Unfortunately it wasn't meant to be, and I had medical management which didn't fully work and then a vacuum aspiration to remove the rest of the pregnancy tissue in February.

I'm on cycle day 7, not expecting to ovulate until day 18-22ish, going a little bit mad in lockdown with nothing else to focus on, and taking quite the cocktail of supplements and prescription drugs.

I'm sorry you all find yourselves here, but hoping to find other people in the same boat to talk to. All my friends seem to get pregnant and have healthy babies with no problems.

TerribleImagination · 13/04/2020 10:20

@DisneyMummySince2010 I’m CD11 and just got my first flashing smiley, woohoo! DTD last night, so going for every other day until peak, then 3 days in a row, then every 2-3 days for the rest of the month... Hoping that covers it and we’ll lucky this month! 🤞🏻

@Renna I’ve been using pre-seed (same stuff but different brand!) and it worked the first month I used it, but I’ve tried with and without it since the MC and no joy since... Will use it again this month too though, so all bases are covered!

DisneyMummySince2010 · 13/04/2020 11:38

@peperethecat it’s just awful what you’ve been through, I’m so sorry 💛 it does feel so unfair when people around seem to BLINK and fall pregnant!

What type of supplements and prescriptions are you taking (if you don’t mind me asking)? I would hope they’re monitoring you closely given your losses xx

@disneymumsince2010 I had a similar situation last month in the immediate weeks after ERPC. The ovulation tests were a bit all over the place. Never found a peak but got loads of flashing smileys. I also looked at the lines and tried to look into what it meant. I think the 2 dark lines could be a good sign ovulation coming . I hadn't used cheapies before but started using them this month and found it helped me determine what's going on. Keep testing and regularly DTD and you may still catch 😘

@peperethecat so sorry for what you've been through and does seem so unfair when happens for others so easily xx it will happen for you just unfair how much you have to go through to get there 🌈 and I feel you. Once I had MMC I had all these plans to on keeping busy and occupied etc and then lock down ! At least we can all confide in each other ! Xx

@TerribleImagination exciting you have your flashing ! I went for the every other day for DTD this cycle too until got peak then did every day for a few days 👌 enjoy 😁😁 xx

peperethecat · 13/04/2020 13:05

@disneymumsince2010 Here goes! I am currently taking baby aspirin, high dose vitamin E (1000mg/day) and pentoxifylline (800mg/day) prescribed by my doctor, which are supposed to help with my thin endometrium. I also take progesterone pessaries (400mg a day) which I start once I'm sure I've ovulated, so usually around 3 or 4 DPO and then stop at 13 DPO if my test is negative. I'm also supposed to be starting prednisone this cycle and think I will take that on the same days I take the progesterone.

Then in terms of supplements I take methylfolate (1000mg/day), high dose vitamin D (4000IU/day), ubiquinol (600mg/day) and usually a high dose vitamin C tablet as well.

Everything my doctor has prescribed is to help with my thin lining whereas the things I've self prescribed are for egg quality. Popping so many pills!

peperethecat · 13/04/2020 13:07

@Renna, thank you, yes it is really hard. I feel so jealous of people who don't have to go through this and just get to make plans for the future and enjoy their pregnancies without all this fear. I have no children yet and I'm terrified we will be doing this for years and eventually give up.

MilsCookie · 13/04/2020 13:21

Hello all,
Just popping on to say I'm still here TTC (have been on the Jan-April threads) but I have to limit the amount of time I spend on MN as I've found it to be detrimental to my sanity haha. But just wanted to send a little message to say hey and will keep popping back to see how everyone is doing and hopefully see some more BFPs!

My story just to recap: fell pregnant early in October 2019 whilst travelling (we had planned to start trying in Jan 2020 but it just happened a few months too early... but we were over the moon!) went for a scan at 8 weeks and saw the baby and a heartbeat. Went for a scan at 12 weeks and was told baby had stopped growing at 10 weeks. Had medical then surgical management (tablets didn't work) in a hospital in Vietnam at the end of Nov 2019 - was all very traumatic being away from home. Had December off TTC and had my first period on 26th Dec (31 days after start of mmc). Jan 2020 was our first official month TTC (ironically as we'd originally planned...) and we're still here 4 cycles later!!

This month I've given up the OPKs and vitamins (except folic acid) and trying to "relax" (although it's pretty impossible to switch off thinking about it!) and I am on CD15 so must be about to ovulate. We've said we're not going to "try" this month and just dtd whenever we feel like it.... fingers crossed this new approach works but we'll see.

Good luck to everyone who finds themselves here - it's not a club any of us imagined we'd be joining I'm sure but it's so helpful to chat to ladies in the same situation. Lots of love and baby dust Star xxxxxx

Renna · 13/04/2020 13:34

@millscookie hiya xx I remember seeing your name in the march thread when I was just lurking as I'd only just been through my MMC and had surgery. When it first happened I did think I I need to come off MN as not sure itll be good for me. But have found it quite comforting since had my first AF and TTC again . For now.. but I can imagine if I'm still here a few more cycles down the line I'd probably feel the same as you.. sorry for what you've been through. And mustve been tough going through that whilst away. I hope the relaxed method works for you .. do keep us posted if it does as I imagine if I have had no luck after a few months I'll probably need to do the same .. like you say for sanity ! Sending positive relaxed vibes xxxxx

Minster2012 · 13/04/2020 13:41

Hi ladies can I join please?

Bit about me...
I’m 35, 36 in July TTC number 2, DS1 20months born through IVF where my best mate carried mine &DH’s embryo (anyone seen ‘The nest’ on Tv? Like that cept best mate!) as I was still on 10years worth of immunotherapy chemo for stage 4 melanoma & couldn’t stop it despite being stable (my mates a legend!)

Stopped my treatment & contraception last may & we TTC until deciding to use one of our 3 frozen embryos privately when my AF finally appeared in Nov, transferred in Feb & ended in MMC at what we thought was 7.5weeks but had stopped growing at 4.5weeks.

Now really keen to get a handle on cycle & TTC (cheaper than IVF again heh & I’m driving myself nuts thinking about TTC)

AF not arrived yet, 28 days after MC today, some spotting yesterday, thought was here so I’m looking for a bit of advice on OPKs please to get ready, what time of day, how long do you need to not wee first, (I wee a lot 😂) how much can you drink before (I drink a lot of water throughout the day) 🤦🏼‍♀️Any other help for a novice like me!!

I just want AF to arrive & get started 😹

Renna · 13/04/2020 14:37

Hi @minster2012 hiya xxx wow what a story!! And I need to watch that program! Looks good ! And yes your mate sounds amazing !! Xx so happy for you you got your DS ! Sorry for your MC ! Xx I use clear blue advanced OPK linked to a phone app along with the cheapies. I've been doing both tests with first morning urine and then in the afternoon do another cheapie ... I'd say only do this when you're close to ovulating. As your LH surge can be later in the day . I did find I got a strong line on a cheapie in the evening and then the next morning got a peak on my clear blue and cheapie but I kinda knew it was coming because of that strong line I got the evening before .
The urine you use in the afternoon /evening it is best to stop drinking lots before hand and leave it a few hours since your last urine so its not completely diluted.
Its probably best for accuracy to test at the same time each day ... but I dont do this really tbh . . I've also tried tracking my temp this cycle ... I cant say I understand it much but i think it takes a few months of doing it to notice patterns .. but once you get hang of it it can help determine if you ovulated... again its deffo better to do this at same time every morning first thing but I haven't been good ag doing that.. xxxx let me know if any specific questions about any of that! Happy to help in any way ! Xxxxxx wishing you lots ot luck xxxx

Minster2012 · 13/04/2020 17:39

Thank you so much @Renna 🥰
AF has arrived so CD1 & I’m actually excited that’s so sad isn’t it 🤣won’t be saying that months down the line but hey for now I’m going with it!!
Will have a look what you’ve said & try to not drink as much water & pee as much 😂😂thank you xx

Renna · 13/04/2020 17:51

@minister2012 I know what you mean as I was actually glad to see my first AF following my MMC as it made me feel like I could start again and know where I stood. And excited to track what was going on . You have the same cycle length as me ... I have a 28 day cycle and usually ovulate around cycle day 14/16 but actually got my peak reading on CD12 this month. Keep us posted xx wishing you lots ot luck xx

Minster2012 · 13/04/2020 18:09

Definitely! @Renna I’ve only ever had one period (last Nov) since I was 17 so nearly 19 years now so I am hoping the MC kickstarts my system into some kind of regularity 🤞🏻Especially if it’s around 28 days that would be great but therefore I’ve no idea when I ovulate hence the buying OPKs!!

I hope the months & cycles are kind to each one of us, it’s all I can think of now, especially as I thought “great isolation is THE PERFECT time to be pregnant” no one had noticed me not drinking but we were going to tell ppl around now as it would have been 12 weeks 😕

Renna · 13/04/2020 20:39

Well sounds promising so far getting your AF on CD28. 🤞 xx @Minster2012
I know it's so tough . We planned so much for our reveal , big reveal meals with family and friends, we made up little gifts to give people as a reveal. And had the scan like 2 days before all the plans we made . Was heart breaking and ended up chucking everything away. Makes us think we wont be doing it again that way if were lucky enough to be pregnant one day. As was so tough making all these plans and then all of a sudden they were gone . It's so sad that we feel like we cant do any of that next time but then I kind of dont care I just want a healthy baby 🌈💞 xxx

Minster2012 · 13/04/2020 21:02

Oh @renna I’m so sorry, we did that for DS1 so I can totally understand it, let’s hope we all get our 🌈s you may feel differently when it happens, we told our families at 10 weeks with DS because of the surrogacy & there had been some bleeding we had done it all in secret & at that point we knew we would need emotional support outside our little foursome that knew if it went wrong too (it was also Xmas day so that too) so you never know, you may feel differently xxx

Renna · 13/04/2020 21:14

@minster2012 aw thanks hun yeah hopefully I will feel differently but it will deffo have to be after the first scan that I would even consider buying or planning anything , maybe even 2 scans . I'd probably wait longer to tell people too if we fell again. I'm trying not to think about it until I actually need to worry and get a BFP... but I keep thinking about when I do get that BFP how worried I'll feel until the first scan and I cant even imagine how I'll feel attending that first scan again. But yes positive thoughts and 🤞🌈🤞🌈 xxx

DisneyMummySince2010 · 13/04/2020 21:17

Yes, my goodness that is a lot @peperethecat just shows how strong and resilient you are 💛

I had another day of flashing smileys with CB OPK really hoping for a static smiley tomorrow 🤞 But we’re trying to DTD at least every other day just in case the tests don’t catch it!

I took B6 today @TerribleImagination so will hopefully see the benefit in a few weeks!!

DisneyMummySince2010 · 13/04/2020 21:28

Just caught up... @Minster2012 that Is such an emotional story! I’m really happy that your on CD1, every period is a fresh start!!!

I agree with @Renna use lots of cheapies for now so you can get a feel of how your cycle progresses. The CB OPKs can get pricey so maybe get a pack for when the cheapies indicate you’re LH surge is coming! So excited for you!!
